Dp x dc prompt
Danny is ready for this insane game that dick had recommended to them for family bonding time, laser tag. With the batpham. Who all have professional training in fighting. This will definitely end well. They all sat in their corners in teams, ready to rush in when the lights got turned out and everything lit up in obnoxious neon colors. It took a second for Danny to realize why his partner was staring at him, when he looks down and sees himself glowing neon green, all he can do is sigh.
“Oh now that’s just plain racist”

Humans seem to have a "switch"
Team building exercises and competitive events are commonplace around the Galaxy. Everyone needs a distraction from the daily grind every now and then, and large organizations and long-term deployments make it essential for such "ice-breaker" activities, both to help integrate newcomers as well as reduce the chance of veterans becoming numb to life.
Yarvut Lyetzsnezhniiy had recently been assigned as a Cultural Analyst to the Human embassy aboard the Coalition Governing Station. While highly professional on the job and quite amicable, but wasn't all that into small talk, and once the workday was over, he was gone. No overtime, no hanging out, nothing.
When time came for the next publicly broadcast Cross-Embassy Game Series, where as many members from each species represented would be paired up with each other over the course of several days and partake in a game both agreed to in advance. Most of these were of the mental variety, and were honestly kinda boring to observe, but some pairings opted for more... active activities.
On the second day the Humans and another bipedal species called the Jorval had agreed to a competition not dissimilar to laser tag. This had actually been proposed by the previous Cultural Analyst and recently been added to the roster with some modifications. Two teams of, in this case, 15 participants on each side, as that was how many Humans were available that day without hindering the core operations of their embassy, so a few Jorvals had to sit out.
They entered a large spherical room with about a 300 meter diameter. Once they were done with the formalities, rules about safety, and yadda yadda - they turned off the gravity. Using small boosters on their heels, knees, elbows, and back, the teams floated to their starting locations on opposite ends of the sphere. And now the obstacles gently puttered in from all sides, turning a pristine empty space into a jungle of jarringly colored geometric shapes, natural looking plant replicas, and numerous traversable but obscuring meshes that come in all colors and patterns. Where once you could observe the entire area from anywhere, now there were scarcely any vistas that would allow one to see more than 50 meters away.
All for a simple capture the flag laser tag game. The Jorval have fairly long lifespans and, though they have not engaged in any wars for generations, military training is compulsory and seen as a matter of course by most of their society, so even the most desk-dedicated office workers are in generally good shape and have some reflexive combat moves at the ready. The Human team on the other hand, had one guy who used to be in the army... 40 years ago, two had taken up martial arts as a hobby, and Yarvut who turns out was an air-soft enthusiast. The rest were your typical either slightly too thin or too thick office workers when it came to their physical readiness.
Before the signal to start, the army guy, Brandon, gave out some tips and pointers, though it was likely going over everyone's heads as they tried to adjust to moving around in zero-g. No sooner had the game started, Yarvut dashed off on his own. Everyone did kinda feel he might do a lone wolf thing, but that, unsurprisingly, was short lived, as not even the two minute mark had struck when Yarvut found himself ambushed from three sides and was now locked in his suit gently pressed up against a tree-like obstacle with a modest view of the Jorval turf.
It would be a best of three, and, predictably, the first match ended with a strong Jorval victory by the seventeenth minute mark. However, it was not a total wipeout as the initial minutes might have suggested. Half of the remaining Humans were taken out within five, but by then Brandon had gotten used to moving in all directions and keeping tabs on the z-axis as well, and was coordinating a defensive tactic with the remaining members. He knew they would lose this match, but he was bent on making the Jorval earn it and show him what they could really do. In the end, every Human was taken out, and the Jorval had lost only three members, though all of which fell victim to the final holdout against just four Humans.
When it was time to swap home bases for the next match, before Brandon could start elaborating on his new tactics, Yarvut surprised everyone by huddling everyone together for a tactical discussion himself. From his position early on he was left with nothing else to do but carefully and calmly observe how the Jorval moved, where they focused their sights on, how close they tend to stick to each other, and other minor details which Brandon was deeply impressed by. Using this newfound perspective and knowledge, Brandon came up with a far more refined strategy for both offense and defense.
Seemingly bolstered by the humiliating defeat, the rest of them were also more motivated, and the entire Human team now gave off, what the neutral observers of the games described as, a different aura. Like something had flipped, that turned this group of people they knew and worked with and respected and generally liked, into something menacing, a focused machine almost. The look in their eyes through the visors sent shivers down most everyones spines or equivalents whenever a camera operator decided to do a zoom in.
Upon the start signal, the Humans split into five squads, one pair on defense duty, one four person team on patrol around the immediate vicinity, and three squads of three on offense, taking the longest route all around the edge of the sphere going for a three-sided ambush of the Jorval's home turf. It was amazing to see how much smoother and more coordinated each Human moved now, when before it was the first time most of them were expected to maneuver in zero-g using suits they had never worn before. You could literally see them adapting and intuitively getting a better by the minute at handling the booster-based movement, and navigating and keeping tabs on all three dimensions. Some were better at it than others, but even the most clumsy of the Humans was still visibly more comfortable now than thirty minutes ago.
The patrol squad had a quick skirmish with a Jorval scout, paralyzing his legs before he made a rapid retreat and taking no wounds themselves. Then a minute of silence, interrupted by a burst of activity coming from the Jorval base, then another minute of silence.
Yarvut was the only of the attack squad members to return, his left arm paralyzed, but he rushed past the defense members to plant the enemy flag in their base and take the win. It was now 1-1.
Another huddle, nobody even needed to call for it, now everyone on the Human team had fully switched to "hunter mode", as a Human audience member called it.
The third and deciding match wasn't even close. Once again, five squads, but this time three each and all in attack formation. They did not give the Jorval even time to fully disperse before the Humans came barreling through the obstacles just thirty seconds after the start signal. Shock and awe - every Jorval was taken out in the next twenty seconds, no Human losses.
Combining what everyone conveyed about their opponents from the second match with Yarvut's keen observations from the first, Brandon figured the Jorval were behaving in a standardized and heavily drilled pattern and would likely repeat it for the third, perhaps with minor alterations expecting another three-way ambush or some other sneaky and delayed attack. Their scout had also not arrived all that fast, so they must have trained to be very methodical in their approach. Brandon also employed a methodical defense the first time, then a coordinated precision strike, so, naturally, it was time for a sledgehammer approach.
And it worked beautifully, completely catching everyone off guard, even the audience. Blink and you missed the entire action. Everyone knows Humans can be reckless and even downright crazy, but to witness them going full "hunter mode" was a first for practically all observers. And this was just some office workers and an elderly former low ranking soldier. What kind of monsters were their actual well trained and fully geared up soldiers then?

I really want to limit how much I describe the sentient aliens as they are not the focus of these stories, but it would be awkward to keep saying "those bipedal aliens", so a compromise this time. How they look beyond bipedal I'll leave entirely to your imagination.

LASER TAG matt sturniolo
Tumblr media
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 𝓈𝒾𝓃𝒸𝑒𝓇𝑒𝓁𝓎, dwntwn-strnlo.
↳ 𝐀/𝐍. first post!
↳ 𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆. matthew sturniolo x reader
↳ 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘. laser tag w matt and his brothers!
↳ 𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐃? no!
getting the call from matt to get ready and be outside within the next five minutes, you will admit- a little nerve wracking.
but none the less, you still quickly get dressed and fix your makeup, just in time for your boyfriend to start honking the car horn from your driveway. you walk out and see matts car in park, and nick and chris sitting in the backseat.
you lock the door and make your way down the path to the van, hopping in the front passenger side.
"hey y/n!" chris yells from the back.
you turn around to meet him with an outstretched hand, "whats good," you smile, dapping both chris and nick up.
turning back in your seat, matt leans over to press a quick kiss to your lips. "hi baby."
"what are we doing?" you queried, a soft smile resting on your face.
"laser tag!" chris exclaimed enthusiastically, cutting matt off before he can answer, causing you to laugh.
matt rolls his eyes amusedly, pulling the vehicle into drive and heading presumably in the direction of laser tag.
walking into the building, matt takes your hand in his as the two of you follow behind his brothers.
"teams or solo?" the worker asks when it's your turn.
"teams," you say, but matt shakes his head with a small grin on his face.
"solos," he argues.
you roll your eyes amusedly before agreeing with him.
the four of you are put together with another small group, so that the game lasts longer. you're given your vests and guns, and immediately split up from each other. all finding different spots and waiting for the announcer to start the game.
as the horn blares over head, you start thinking tactics. ultimately deciding to camp out in the area you're currently in.
you here loud pangs, and a 'what the fuck, matt!' before the announcer goes back over the intercom. "player 7, eliminated."
"shit." you mumble to yourself. the yelling was close, meaning matt had to be nearby too, considering he just got one of his brothers out.
you look around you, before quickly running to another wall. but as you reach the wall, your wrist is grabbed and you're shoved into a corner.
matt stands close to you, close enough that his body heat radiates against you. a devious smirk sitting on his face. "hi y/n,"
he leans down, pressing you against the wall, and his lips on to yours. your lips work perfectly in sync as he kisses you in the dark corner. "you're not very good at this," he giggles, pulling away for just a second before kissing you again.
you furrow your eyebrows. "what the hell does that mean?"
he takes a small step back before raising his laser gun, shooting you on the center of your vest.
"player 2, eliminated,"
"you get distracted too easily," he smirks. but before you can protest, he walks away, leaving you in the dark as your vest turns off, and your gun flashes 'dead' at you.

Tarlos and #17 for the kiss ask 😘
A kiss to distract. Thank you for the ask, friend!! Hopefully this works. Unbeta’d. Also- thanks to @tailoredshirt for the laser tag idea. 😊

Carlos grabs the hem of TK’s hoodie and tugs. “Stay low,” he hisses, looking around. They’re hiding behind some tires, while Carlos plots their escape route.
TK laughs and Carlos shoots him a look. TK clears his throat and almost manages to compose himself. Until he lets out a little snort, which sets him off again.
“You’re not taking this seriously,” Carlos says. “This is all your fault!”
“And you’re taking this a little too seriously. It’s laser tag,” TK points out. “And how is it my fault? You’re the one that can hit any target from across the room!!” TK says.
Carlos rolls his eyes. “Yes, but then you had to get cocky about it and now they hate us.”
“I didn’t get cocky about- wait, what’s Mateo doing?”
Carlos watches as Mateo runs in a not-so-graceful zig-zag towards their hiding spot. He’s not being stealthy and they know he’s bait, trying to lure them out.
They watch as he takes cover behind a partition and Carlos shakes his head.
“I’ve never lost a round of laser tag,” Carlos says. “And I don’t intend to start now.”
“Okay, what do I do?” TK asks.
“Paul is up top behind the stack of tires on the east side of the course. Marjan is up there with him,” Carlos whispers. He points to an open stretch of the course without any obstacles to hide behind. “Look, they’re gonna head this way. When they do, they’re going to have to cross the north side and they won’t have anywhere to hide.”
TK grins and bites his lip. “God, do you know how sexy you are when you do that?” He looks around before hooking his hand in the top of Carlos’ vest and reeling him in for a kiss. The kiss is soft and sweet and Carlos isn’t expecting it. He freezes for a second too long before pulling away.
“What are you doing?” He hisses. “They’re gonna find us!”
“Oh, we found you.” He hears Marjan say from directly behind him. He looks around and realizes they’re surrounded; Nancy is behind TK while Paul and Mateo approach at his nine and three o’clock, respectively.
Carlos gives TK a betrayed look when he realizes he’s been set up- and that his husband had something to do with it.
“I’m sorry,” TK whines immediately. “They made me!”
“They made you?” Carlos repeats incredulously. “Hey, now. Can we talk about this?” Carlos tries as the remaining members of the 126 raise their guns towards him.
“Nope.”
They all fire at different targets on his vest. His vest flashes and as the lights fade he turns toward TK.
“You know they set you up too, right?”
“What?”
“Yeah, about that,” Nancy says. “He’s right.” She raises her gun and fires, hitting the target directly on TK’s back. His vest flashes and vibrates, then goes dark.
There’s some general high-giving and cheering before everyone realizes the game is technically still in-progress. Nancy and Mateo take off in one direction while Paul and Marjan split in the other, leaving TK and Carlos alone in the middle of the arena.
“Did that just happen?” TK asks.
“Yes, yes it did,” Carlos says. “Your friends betrayed us.” He adds as both vests light up again.
“Well, at least we have each other.”
“You’re on your own,” Carlos says.
He fires at one of the targets on TK’s vest and the vest goes dark once again.
“I deserve that,” TK says. Carlos just laughs as he disappears into the arena.

Positively Villainous ~ *Lee Chan*
Tumblr media
Summary: All of Seventeen is playing laser tag. You are on the opposite team of your boyfriend, and you both are insanely competitive. Who’s going to end up winning in this battle of wits and comedy?
Pairing: Lee Chan X G/n!Reader
Genre: Fluffy Oneshot
Word Count: 1056
Warning: Swearing, Competitiveness
Seventeen Masterlist
Taglist: @foxwinter
A/N: I would actually love it if Seventeen played laser tag.
“Last round. Winner gets all the marbles.” Seungkwan declared to the fourteen people gathered before him. “Same rules apply and, I can’t believe I have to say this again, no cheating!”
Everyone turned to Jeonghan. His jaw dropped and he started to sputter. “It wasn’t me! I mean it wasn’t just me! Vernon cheated too!”
Seungcheol shook his head. “I can’t believe you’d say that about poor, sweet Vernon.”
“Please! You told him to do it!”
“I did no such thing!”
“Ladies, please.” You stood up next to Seungkwan and said, “We only have fifteen minutes left to break this tie. So are we going to play or not?”
Everyone exchanged glances before agreeing. They all broke off into their respective teams, after, of course, trash talking the other team a bit. You nodded. “Fifteen minutes. Let’s end this.”
You followed your team to the loft and huddled up. Seungcheol, your captain, delivered his master plan. “Alright, stay locked on one target while also keeping your eyes on the rest of their team. I’m taking Hoshi, Jeonghan has Junhui, Vernon stays with Seungkwan, Wonwoo takes DK, Mingyu and Minghao, Woozi and Joshua, and Y/n has Dino. Sounds like a plan?”
When everyone agreed, Seungcheol grinned devilishly. “By the time these fifteen minutes are over, we’ll be the laser tag champions!”
The seven of you cheered your impending victory and the final battle began.
Racing away from your team’s base, you went to find Chan before he found you. Before you could, you noticed Minghao and shot at him. You were gone before he even noticed you were the one who got him. However, Joshua saw you and you were hit.
Both you and Seungcheol shot him at the same time, making him yell at you both as he ran away.
“Thanks.” You nodded. “Have you seen Dino anywhere?”
He shook his head. “No, but be careful. Jeonghan told me Hoshi is on the rampage. Apparently it’s his way of getting back at him for cheating.”
You nodded. “Thanks for the heads up. Good luck with him.”
Seungcheol groaned. “You too.”
It was clear that Chan was selected to be the sniper of their team, which made sense. He had a sharp eye and was an excellent shot. However, it still felt like you were on a wild goose chase. You couldn’t find him anywhere, no matter how hard you looked. You managed to get some hits on everyone from the other team and even saved Woozi from a sneak attack by the insanely competitive and kind of frightening Hoshi. But no Chan. And no one on your team had seen him as well.
That all changed though when you found yourself in a secluded corner. No one was around you, but you felt like you were being watched. Chan was here, you could tell. You could practically feel it in your bones. So you kept both your guard and your gun up.
Something dropped behind you, backing you into a wall. You didn’t even have to turn around to know who it was .
“Hello, Dino.” You grinned.
“Hello, Y/n. Are you ready to die tonight?”
“Not by your laser.”
He chuckled. “You think you’ll be able to stop me? I’d like to see you try.”
You whipped around and pulled the trigger, but he jumped out of the way. You swore under your breath and pressed close to the wall to keep away from his laser. It felt like a stand-off between the two of you. You needed to think this through carefully, lest you let down your team.
“We only  have three minutes left in the match. Can we call a truce and then call it a day?”
Again, he laughed. “You know as well as I do that that’s not going to happen.”
“That’s unfortunate but it was worth a shot.” You sighed. “I thought we were friends.”
“And here I thought we were lovers.” He shot back.
You smirked. “Touche. So what’s your plan?”
“What if we did this: we just shoot each other continuously and we’ll see who has the fastest trigger finger. Sounds like a plan?”
You shrugged. “Sure. Why not? I’m not looking to prove that I have taken the fewest hits. That’s the title Jun wants anyways.”
“See, it works for everyone.” He stepped out into the open and raised his laser gun. “Are you ready for this?”
“Ready as I’ll ever be.”
And with that, the two of you continued to shoot the other for the next three minutes. It wasn’t super exciting but it was funny. You couldn’t stop laughing the whole time you two fought at each other. Occasionally, one of your guns would stray to a target on the opposite team and land a few hits on them. But the fighting always returned between the two of you. It was a good way to end the final round of laser tag with your boyfriend and the rest of Seventeen.
When the battle was over, the scores were being tallied up by Mingyu. Hoshi laughed as you told your story. Seungcheol shook his head at the childishness between the two of you.
“I can’t believe that’s how we won.” Seungcheol sighed.
You shrugged. “I think it was a fitting win. And since we won, we get to decide where we’re going for dinner. Right guys?”
Instantly, your six teammates started coming up with ideas for dinner. You laughed but didn’t get involved with them and their decision making. You honestly couldn’t care where to go. You were just happy to claim this victory for your team.
Chan pulled you asided and stuck out his hand to you. “Congratulations.”
You shook his hand. “Thanks. But Chan, don’t ever look at me like you’ve cornered me again. It was so scary and positively villainous.”
He laughed, slinging an arm over your shoulder. “I’ll try not to. What do you say we ditch these guys and get dinner just the two of us.”
Smiling, you leaned into his touch. “Like I said, you’re positively villainous. But I totally agree with your idea. Let’s do it.”
“After you, champion.” He gestured for you to lead the way.
Smiling, you patted his cheek as you said, “Thank you, last place.”
“Just for that, I’m picking where we’re going.”
“Villainous!”
