Hello! May I ask for stalker/pervert yumeko x fem!reader (sfw And nsfw)
OH HO HO!! YES Y E S YESSSS!!! Sorry I haven't been active, mental health and all, but I'm doing somewhat better and this is one of the first I'm working on to get a good bit of stuff outta my drafts. This isn't all that dark, but I'm still giving a warning. Also(to anyone that actually reads these) this started stalkerish and developed into yandere territory. I apologize, but I couldn't help myself. CNC is briefly mentioned but not gone over.

Stalker!Yumeko Jabami x Fem!reader
Tumblr media
Now, this is a somewhat unlikely situation. Yet, somehow, it still happened. So how did this even start, why is Yumeko following you home, why does she get all antsy when she cant be around you?
So many questions, so few answers. The only way to truly get Yumekos attention is to stand out. Not in a way she has already seen before, so there are few ways to do that.
You could have beaten her in a gamble, the higher the stakes the more interested she is. You could have possibly been a kind, and genuinely good person. People like that aren't seen as much at Hyakkaou, so it be someone she is very much interested in. Maybe you're a masochist and you lost to Yumeko, seeing you happy to lose would definitely turn her on and interest her...as long as you're not creepy like Midari.
Anyway, despite whatever peaked her interest about you...yeah you're hers now. So have fun. Yumeko is the last person you'd want to defy, I mean...have you met the girl? At first she isn't obvious about her recognition of you. No, she watches you, she even has others watch you for her. You, wether you're oblivious or not, will still notice odd behavior from those around you.
Maybe some of those ruder to you are nicer, maybe vice versa. It doesn't matter, you're going to realise at some point you're being tailed. When you do, that's when the icy hot hell that is Yumeko Jabami makes me debute to you. Or well second debute.
Before you learn all about her "nefarious" plans and she's still watching you creepily. She goes after you, in more ways than one. She watches you leave ethe bathroom, and go in. Yumeko just wants to make sure you're not being privately bullied...that's all.
She also follows you home, maybe she'll buy(just a reminder Yumeko is rich as hell) a car. One that looks like an everyday car, or an exact copy of one that lives near your house. You wouldn't suspect seeing your neighbors car right behind you...right?
Yumeko is fucking crazy, let's put that out there. I've more than likely said it once, but I'll say it again if needed. She. is. crazy. So after she's is caught stalking you, she wont lie. She'll tell you straight up, she's in love, well her idea of love. Her fucked up, disgusting idea of love. Yumeko is very blunt, she explains her intentions and what she wants. At least what she things she wants.
Whether you choose to date her or not essentially decides the outcome of your little interaction. Saying yes, immediately fucks you over, she no longer has to hide her stalker tendencies. Saying no, well she'll pretend she didn't hear it and the next day at school Yumeko announces your relationship.
She's also very touchy(yes, she's a pervert too) she likes putting her hand up your skirt and will smile. Yumeko likes to hig you from behind, why? Because that means she can touch your tits. Big or small, nonexistent or very obviously existant. She loves your chest, she love you, and therefore any and every part of you.
She likes to show you off, by that I mean she'll kiss and love on you while she's gambling. You just look so cute to her, shaking and looking away in embarrassment.
I feel like Yumeko as a stalker is giving her yandere tendencies, but toned down. She goes from stalker to the well known term: crazy girlfriend. She needs you round all the time, she cant gamble without you. She can't walk home without you, she hates leaving you.
You're her lucky charm, you make things better. She can talk about her sister, how she really feels. She doesn't always need to smile and act dopey. She can be anything without worry...and if you dislike something she cant just tie you up and have you miss a few school days...
Now, Yumeko is a less than savory person when you think about it. While she does her best to love you in every way she knows. It takes her a while, especially if you said no to dating her at first. She really cant help herself, she wants to show you things...but how can she trust you?
I'd say it takes months before she finally tells you everything, well everything that you didn't know. She trusts you to tell you hoe she really feels, hoe her fucked up mind decided you were her chosen protector.
Even if she was stalking you a lot to begin with. It was all in good faith, I mean look now. You two are inseparable, not that she let's you leave her, but that doesn't matter.
In her eyes, you're perfect, no matter the horrible things she's done. No matter how much she touches you in odd and somewhat disturbing ways. You don't leave, she'd die if you did. Yumeko Jabami, current heiress to the Jabami clan.
She has put so much effort into you, into helping you gamble, helping you with debt, helping you with class work. She cant leave you...and if she has to strike a deal for a student life plan. All to keep your with her. She will.
NSFW CONTENT AHEAD
Tumblr media
Sex is something else with her. Yumeko being the person she is, I highly doubt she's a virgin. No, she's had her fair share of men and women. Learning that she was particularly interested in girls help in her decided what to do with her interest in you.
Yumeko knows how to work your body. She puts on the cutesy loving girlfriend act...then eats you until you're trying(and failing) to pull her head away. Yumeko loves oral so this just makes things all the more fun for her.
Now of course just because she favors orla doesn't mean she doesn't like other things. When you two start dating she no longer needs to watch you as you go home...no she can drive you home herself. And she can also make you ride a vibrator the entire ride.
Yumeko loves humiliation(especially the stalker/pervert version of her) the idea of you crying and shaking after you been riding a toy for hours. She's been laughing at the faces you make, the whines, she'll pull on your hair and call you a slut.
Maybe take a few pictures, she loves to look through them during class when she's bored.
Oh, but seeing you all needy in public riles her up too. You're horny in public, maybe at school? Bathroom. She'll fuck you in the stall and then take a picture so she can create and album of you in the future. She likes to write the exact date and time of your little game.
Going back to the humiliation thing, if you end up doing it in a school or public bathroom. Prepare yourself, she taunt and belittle you.
You'll be so shaken up from her fucking you though, you hear very little of what she's saying. Whether that is a blessing or a curse is entirely up to you.
If it wasn't already obvious, one of Yumekos universally favorite things to do is overstimulation. Seeing you beg for mercy(that you will not be getting) after 5 orgasms is the best thing to ever grace her ears. It's an intoxicating sound, keep making it. The more you beg for mercy the longer it'll take for her to even want to stop.
Yumeko is a dominant and sadistic person in general. That goes over to the bedroom too. We see Yumeko get horny off of gambling, so she most definitely does a small coin flip or some form of small gamble.
It could decided whose on top(even though in the end you'll be bent over her knee crying her name), maybe it decides what toys you use, maybe if you win the gamble Yumeko wont punish as hard...
"So good for me, my good girl! Aww, are those tears for me? Thank you, I'm glad you know you place, sweet girl!"
She likes to mix praise in with her degradation. Calling you a mixture of darling, baby, good girl, sweetie, sweet girl, my love, sweetheart, princess(her favorite), ect. She has an extremely large variety of words for you. In and out of bed.
Stalker!Yumeko most definitely has a consent non-consent kink. I am not interested in getting into that unless specifics asked. Do with that information what you will.
Anyway, Yumeko and cat ears are like the ocean and salt. You can't really have one without the other. While Yumeko uses her money to buy you expensive lingerie sets, she also buys you cute costumes.
Maid, puppy, kitty, ect. She will dress you up with dog ears and an anal plug tail, or cat ears and an anal plug cat tail. Maybe even a bunny suit...definitely a bunny suit. Yumeko will also dress up if you ask, anything you want.
If you like the idea of a cute bunny girl dominating you until you (s)cream... Yumeko can and will do everything to set that fantasy up.
Now aftercare with Yumeko is an interesting situation. At first she doesn't know what it is, no matter if she's been with men or women. Top or bottom. She's never understood why she needed to care for someone. Mainly because she never cared for the others like she does you.
Yumeko loves you, therefore she does research into aftercare. Mainly out of fear that you'll slip into sub drop. She does her best with food and comfortable clothes, a warm bath and good television. She knows that isn't all that's required though, she reminds herself that you need to reminded you're loved.
All in all(and I do genuinely believe this) Yumeko is a good lover. Stalker!ver or not. She does love you, Yumeko shows her love to those she cares about. It's different and sometimes weird, and sometimes it's completely stupid and makes her look dumb. She does understand things better than you'd think.

Never Let Me Go (S01E05)
Tumblr media
This episode tried harder than the last one to end me, and I'm mot even able to confirm whether it succeeded or not...
So many important things in only one episode... And the fifth at it... I'M HONESTLY SCARED!
I've cried a bit watching it, not gonna lie...
The stark difference between Palm's dad and Nueng's mom at the start of the episode really hurt. The clear imbalance of power showed in those moments is heartbreaking!
It is clear that Nueng trulu desire a friend, someone who's not family, but who he can really trust. But his character and the way he is been brought up didn't permit him to develop the skills necessary to interact with his peers, and that even increased the bullying he is subjected to.
He is starting to develop feelings for Palm, but he doesn't think he deserves whatever might happen between them and so he settle for the best next option, Ben. Which, even though I hated him from the start, could have been a seemingly good option, until the event of this episode, but it already was a risk in my opinion considering what Ben mean to Chopper and the complicated balance of their family in this particular moment. Jealousy could have been one of the worst things.
Even though I never particularly liked Ben, I can't really blame him for doing what he did. Saying the truth was not a practicable option with a dad like his. It would have been a danger. And we, once again see the difference with our queen Tanya. Even though he was scared of being a disappointment to her, Nueng never felt in a real danger, while Ben is clearly fearing for his life.
I really loved the way she handled things. She is such a great mother!
I also want to talk about one of my new favorite friendships! 🙏🏻
Palm and Maggie, my best girl, the only person that seems to actually care for Palm. As I said from the start, I really love them as besties, if they continue to be like this throughout the whole series, they'll have a permanent little spot in my heart.
A really important moment in the episode and also in my opinion key moments of Palm and Nueng's relationship, is the hig at the end of part 2 and the conversation at the start of part 3, when Nueng finally actually apologies, with his words, to Palm. That was an important growth moment for Nueng and his development. He is starting to learn how to interact with people.
I still have no idea what happened t
At the end of the episode and I'm in total denial, I will think about it next week, thanks...

Racial disciplinary disproportionalities are a stubborn feature of U.S. public school systems. Based on the 2017-18 Civil Rights Data Collection, Black students comprised 15% of public school enrollment but accounted for 38% of total suspensions.
These discrepancies are particularly troubling for two broad reasons. First, suspensions are associated with a host of negative impacts on academic achievement, school engagement, and even outcomes in young adulthood (e.g., exposure to the criminal justice system, SNAP receipt, and college completion). Second, such disparities might reflect systematic biases in how schools handle student discipline and not underlying racial differences in student behavior.
Closing racial gaps in suspensions and reducing the use of suspensions in general thus has been a priority in U.S. education policymaking. The good news is that there has been much progress in recent years. The out-of-school suspension rate dropped from 6.9% of students in 2010 to 3.8% in 2018. Many states and districts have gone through discipline reforms that limit the use of suspensions for minor infractions and adopt nonpunitive strategies such as restorative justice. For example, California banned suspensions and expulsions of students in grades k–3 for minor misbehaviors, and Massachusetts requires schools to first use alternative forms of discipline, such as mediation and behavioral intervention, before considering out-of-school suspension as a last resort.
Despite these positive changes, however, racial disproportionality in school discipline persists. Why is it so hard to close such gaps? What are we missing? A close look at research articles and policy debates on this topic suggests that researchers and policymakers have been almost exclusively focusing on the end result of discipline—suspensions. In contrast, little attention has been given to the referral and reporting process that precedes the decision of whether, and for how long, to suspend a student. Educators have a great deal of autonomy about whether and how to respond to undesired student behaviors. It is these “moment-by-moment” interactions that ultimately lead to the observed racial disparities in school discipline. Thus, a deeper understanding of this referral-to-suspension process is a prerequisite for the design of programs and policies to reduce disciplinary rates and disparities.
New Research from California
In a trio of studies, my coauthors and I investigate how the referring process and actions of educators expand racial disparities in school discipline. To do this, we use four years of administrative data (2016-17 to 2019-20) from a large and demographically diverse urban school district in California. What’s unique about these data is that they contain detailed information on all disciplinary referrals, regardless of whether they ultimately led to a suspension, as well as the individual who made and received the referral, the reason for the referral (i.e., type of incident), and the exact time, date, and location of the incident. These rich details allow us to depict a fuller picture of how racial disparities in school discipline emerge.
Finding #1: Both racial gaps in disciplinary referrals and systematic biases in the adjudication processes contribute to racial disparities in suspensions
In the first study of this series, we find that Black students are more than twice as likely to have received at least one disciplinary referral as their white peers in the same school. Thus, part of the racial gap in suspensions is due to underlying differences in the frequency of disciplinary referrals. However, the racial gap in referral propensities is not the sole reason for the racial gap in suspensions. We also find that the conversion rate of referrals into suspensions across all types of referrals is significantly higher for Black than for white students even after controlling for a battery of student characteristics, including their demographics, neighborhood conditions, and their prior achievement and behavioral outcomes (47% higher relative to the base rate of 0.038 for white students).
The elevated referral-to-suspension conversion rate for Black students could be driven by differences in student behavior, educators’ biases, or both. But it is challenging to tease out the mechanism because researchers almost never observe the underlying student behavior of an infraction. To more rigorously test whether racial bias or “intentional discrimination” exists in sentencing decisions, we compare the outcomes for students of different races who were involved in the same incident. We find a clear and consistent pattern in which Black and Hispanic students are punished more severely than white students who were involved in the same incident and had the same prior disciplinary histories. Specifically, Black students were about two percentage points more likely to be suspended than white students involved in the exact same incident (nearly doubling the base rate of 2.6% for white students). Thus, intentional discrimination appears to explain a nontrivial share of racial disciplinary disparity.
Finding #2: A small number of teachers account for a large share of the overall disciplinary referrals, suspensions, and racial discipline disparities
Motivated by the importance of the referral process identified in the first paper, we start to look closely at teachers’ referring behavior and its association with racial disciplinary gaps in our second study. We find large variation in how many disciplinary referrals a teacher issues and that some teachers’ referring frequency is extensive. Figure 1 represents referring teachers and the effect of those referrals in two dimensions. First, the bars represent a histogram of the frequency of teacher referrals (on the left y-axis) in a year, with the number of referrals per teacher on the x-axis. As Figure 1 shows, most teachers refer few students for discipline: About fifty percent of unique teachers in the sample issued five or fewer referrals per year. But this distribution is strongly skewed, and the top 5% of referrers (those to the right of the reference line) issued over 45 referrals per year. This amounts to roughly one referral every four school days. That is several times greater than their average-referring colleagues (less than one referral for every two months of school).
Tumblr media
While only 72 teachers are ever “top referrers” in our sample, they accounted for 34.8% of all referrals made in the four-year period. More importantly, “top referrers” effectively double the Black-white, Hispanic-white, and multiracial/other-white referral gaps. This is illustrated in the second dimension of Figure 1, where the lines represent the average referral gap as it accumulates from the low-frequency referrers (on the left) to the high-frequency referrers (on the right). These racial gaps grow significantly for the highest-referring teachers. Among teachers with fewer than 46 referrals, Black students receive 1.6 more referrals than white students on average. Once we include “top referrers”, the gap jumps to around 3.4 more referrals than white students. A closer look at the widened referral gaps by “top referrers” suggests that they are driven by high numbers of referrals due to interpersonal offenses and defiance, which are considered more subjective than other referral reasons such as violence.
Finding #3: Same-race teachers significantly reduce students’ likelihood of receiving a disciplinary referral
But which teachers are more likely to make disciplinary referrals? And which students are teachers referring? To address the question of who refers whom, in the third study, we focus on the question of how having a teacher of the same race affects a student’s likelihood of receiving a disciplinary referral. To do this, we link students and teachers through class rosters.
Consistent with a large literature that suggests same-race teachers matter, we find Black students’ probability of receiving at least one referral is significantly lower when they have a Black teacher. The reduced likelihoods of receiving referrals from same-race teachers also convert to reduced likelihoods of being suspended. Besides teacher race, other teacher characteristics might matter, too. For example, we also find suggestive evidence that new-to-school teachers are much more likely than their senior colleagues to refer students.
The way forward: A multifaceted approach to reducing racial disciplinary disparities
We should be aware of the possibility that what we found in this California district might not generalize to other districts. The field would benefit from more research that replicates these findings in other contexts.
However, putting all three studies together, our findings suggest a multifaceted approach to reducing racial disciplinary disparities. Reducing such disparities would require addressing both underlying gaps in disciplinary referrals and systematic biases in the adjudication process.
Given the outsized influence of a small group of teacher referrers, understanding the specific contexts where “top referrers” serve and the specific challenges and needs they might have would provide a tangible approach to reducing their extensive referring behavior.

@graived said: " busy today, your higness? " it was said rather candidly and obviously. practically the whole nation knew what day it was -- and nyx only found out the week prior what today was to be. the lady of tenebrae's birthday so the galdin beacon had said. nyx's arms were folded properly behind his back, and his posture straight. under normal circumstances a simple 'how were you doing' would suffice. but today held sentiment, didn't it? "can i bother you for a second?" their relationship as guard and royalty was rather unorthodox by many means, but they didn't mind it. nyx would face her in the same proper stance. upon looking at her one of his hands slid inward into his pocket and revealed a rather mundane gift. something she had seen before once upon a time, but it looke different this time. it was a hairpin. once upon a time a dear friend of his died to give her a gift like this. even though that hair pin had to be destroyed, perhaps this one can live on with the sentiment as the old and he could honor his friend as well. " for you. a new one. i promise its not bugged like the last one. its not as fancy as the last one but... " he rolled his shoulder a bit , pulled the corner of one of his lips, and raised his brows momentarily. " but i still think it'll look nice on you."
Tumblr media
the semantics of the oracle and her glaive were unnecessary. as if they hadn't both seen each other at the most vulnerable, ragged states. as if they weren't closer than that. nyx was her friend. a dear, treasured friend that lit a warmth under her heart at the sight of him. however, the rigidness of his shoulders, the upward snap up of his back, the way he never met her eyes ... it was all a grasp at some semblance of order ... of normalcy. to be a glaive was to serve, she knew that. and rather than dig deep into the lack of common bonds in her life, she would play along with him. the knowingness made it fun. their secret game of two.
so, in turn, her smile reaches her eyes but doesn't crack past the initial pull of her mouth. her steps are slow to reach him, and his gaze adjusts accordingly. head down, eyes resting at her neck, shoulders, the space beside her head ... never her face. only at the utterance of his name, would he tilt his head.
Tumblr media
" nyx. " his head would snap to her gaze, and their eyes would meet. her smile widening at the interaction. " good day. i do hope you've slept well. " her words are slow and elegant. she takes time in her time with him. " today is ... well, the pandemonium is to be expected. my brother wouldn't have it any other way. neither would prince noctis. " though there is a slight exasperation to her voice, her words are still spoken in adoration.
instead of answering his question, she would tilt her head into him, eyes now focused on the delicate adornment he had procured from his jacket.
her mouth slacks at the sight, an unblinking stare shared between him and the hairpiece. crowe's gift to her... something the empire would still take from her, even after everything. something she had definitely mourned in secret. to be the oracle was to carry the burdens of all men, and to think one should shoulder hers ... and pay the penultimate price for it.
at the time, the thought made her sick to her stomach. and while still crowe's death weighed heavy on her soul, the promise to the now discarded tangible object was living proof of her legacy.
leave it to nyx to know exactly what she wanted, even without speaking a word.
if lunafreya had been a normal woman, unrestrained by societal and personal bounds, she would have hugged him. maybe she would have sobbed into his shoulder, and let the relief wash over her in a cleansing flood.
no matter how much her body'd urged her, how her heart panged. she didn't. she knew better. in their game of two, she was the princess, and he was the glaive. gentle hands accepted the ornament to inspect it further, expression steeled and eyes watery.
nyx would never fully understand how kind he was. how considerate and attentive he was. he would never know the full extent of his devotion to healing her troubles, no matter how closeted she kept them. still, she would try to put it to words.
" it is .... beautiful, nyx. and words cannot express the sentiment this harbors. " fingertips dig into the rhinestone-studded arches, committing the feeling to memory. " it's more than i deserve, though i am lesser without it. your grand deeds and devotion to me do not go unnoticed, and i will see them duly repaid. not out of obligation ... but fervent desire. again, thank you. i could not think of a better gift. " a sincere smile breaks at the words, and as quick as she would speak them, would she creep up on her toes to place a chaste kiss to his cheek, deftly obstructing his gaze from the tear rolling down hers.

Kicking off my Delta Host super interviews, I interviewed Goatman! Here is what the mighty goat had to say.
“So, is there anything you’d like to start off with that you’d like the readers to know about yourself?”
Goatman: "Well, I mean, the basics: My name is Runner Shell, I've worked for Delta Host for a few years as the super known as Goatman. I'm an A-ranked damager and I use a gold constructs core."
“How did you get your start with Delta?”
Goatman: "Well when I joined, there was no Delta academy. You sent in an application directly to Delta and they'd reach out if they were interested in pursuing a partnership with you. I did that, and a few months later they called me up and said they wanted to speak with me. A few months after that I was in training. It was actually a friend of mine that prompted me to sign up, she thought I had a sense of responsibility that would make me a good super."
“I see. Did you have your name chosen before you got your core?”
Goatman: "Nope, the identity comes last. First, core. Then you train. Then you get your suit and name."
“I see. Can I ask about the reasons why you chose Goatman as your name?”
Goatman: "Because every time I battle, the first thing I construct is a set of goat horns I can use for ramming."
“I take it that it just came naturally that way, then. Did you pick your core or was it assigned to you?”
Goatman: "We get some say in our cores when we go in, but ultimately the decision's up to Sequence. I had a bit of say. They asked me about my combat style and what kinds of powers I'd like to have, then they gave me a shortlist that I could pick the best options from. Sequence made the final call."
“I see. If you can remember, could you tell me more about the cores you had in mind going in, and the list you picked from? I’m sure the readers will be interested in what possible other forms of Goatman could have existed.”
Goatman: "I honestly don't even remember anymore. It was years ago. I know it was a lot of tanky stuff though. A lot of manipulation and construct abilities."
“How about moving from the basic stuff for a bit. Have you had any fan interactions that stick with you?”
Goatman: "Oh, I mean, for sure. I'm from a pretty small town where nobody really gets *known,* so any time a fan comes up and tells me how special I am to them and how much they look up to me, that feels pretty amazing. I never thought I'd be much of anything beyond the peanut farm I grew up on. People talking about how I inspire them is surreal, even to this day. I'll never get used to it."
“I see. Aside from your horns, what are some of your favorite constructs you’ve made?”
Goatman: "I mean, I stay pretty consistent with my constructs. I go for defence first and foremost. Battering tools are also pretty good to have."
“Your partner Pokemon was Gogoat, was that your decision or was it someone in marketing that picked it for you?”
Goatman: "Pfft, I dunno anything about Pokemon. That was a collaborative effort between the incredible people in our event department and the incredible people at Skeebtendo."
“I take it then the other events would yield a similar response?”
Goatman: "A lot of them probably would, yeah."
“Are there any that you provided input on?”
Goatman: "Off the top of my head? I don't think so. I don't really go into the event department and start acting like I know anything about marketing or design. They do ask me questions sometimes if they're having trouble with my theming or if they want my input for something, but yeah."
“Do you have any moments you’d consider highlights for your career, in battle or otherwise?”
Goatman: "Kind of a tricky question. It gets ingrained pretty hard into us by Sequence to not think of our battles as big conquests or wins to be celebrated, but more like a job that needs to be done. It's the mindset that keeps us from becoming corrupt or doing any of this for the valour, so I don't think you'll find any supers who list a specific battle as some sort of major high point in their career. Cuz I mean, at the end of the day, lives are at stake. People get hurt, property gets destroyed, there's no real happy ending when you need to fight another person. Definitely not my highlights. But in terms of my other work, I think my biggest highlight would probably be seeing the Nova Squad animated series come together. It really felt like the pinnacle of everything I've done. Consulting on that show has been an amazing experience."
“I see. Does it feel strange to see yourself as a cartoon character?”
Goatman: “No, it honestly feels amazing. The animators working with us at Whammy are incredibly talented. Seeing them bring me and my teammates to life is super special.”
“Do you own bits of your own merchandise?”
Goatman: “Hah, not really. It would feel kinda vain to have that stuff around the house. Some of it, if it’s really special, but not really.”
“What do you consider to be really special?”
Goatman: “Well like- I dunno, one-of-a-kind event stuff or special convention stuff.”
“How has being in Delta impacted your life?”
Goatman: “It’s changed everything. Delta *is* my life now. Every day I wake up as a super, I live as a super and I go to sleep as a super. I revolve my entire life around how I can improve myself to be a better super for my team and for the world. Everyone’s eyes are on me. I always keep that in mind.”
Goatman seemed at first to be quite the intimidating person, though I feel that most of it was just the intimidation that one feels when meeting a celebrity. I found that he was quite the humble person, and it was a great experience, and I see why the fans love him so much.

I know I’m probably reading too much into it, but my Good Place peeps know that when I start posting a lot of screencaps of the same scene is because I’m about to get paranoid, so no surprises there.
I thought, as many of us fans did, that the lack of interaction between Ted and Rebecca in the latest episode was odd. No one mentioned the voicemail or Ted’s panic attack or the fact that Rebecca pierced the floors of the stadium looking for him just “the other night”. The thing is, I was rewatching Headspace and realized that what we have here is a little bit more than “not addressing an issue”.
Ted and Rebecca are barely making eye contact in this episode!
Let’s take a look at the boot room scene:
Ted finds Keeley smoking and hiding from Roy and, almost instantly, Rebecca walks in with Higgings. When she does, she looks straight at Keeley, completely avoiding Ted’s eyes, not even glancing in his general direction or acknowledging him. Ted, on the other hand, follows Rebecca with his eyes since she walks into the room and looks down, (looks down to the floor!) when she moves past him and sits next to Keeley:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She looks at Higgings and tells him this is the room where she and Keeley smoke, again, not even glancing at Ted.
Tumblr media
The moment she does turn to look at him is this one: when he hums in disapproval that Keeley didn’t quit smoking. And if you pay attention, you can tell that the moment she looks at Ted, Ted is looking at Keeley:

This keeps going throughout the whole scene. When Ted says “I don’t know, boss. Sometimes is good to keep things bottled up”, he’s looking at Keeley. He’s talking to Rebecca but he’s looking at Keeley. He glances at Rebecca for a brief moment, goes back to Keeley and, when he’s done speaking, he looks at Rebecca, who looks down and has the same “omg what a dork, i adore him” expression she had when she listened to his voicemail last episode:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And after that, she doesn’t look at him again :( until the final frame of the scene, when Ted tells Roy and Keeley “Adios, muchachos” in a surprisingly good Spanish
Tumblr media
So either Jason and Hannah were making each other break character and had to avoid any trace of eye contact so they wouldn’t laugh, or there’s something we don’t know here.

Fruits Basket Manga Review , ch 110
The writer doesn’t need to rush to akito (antagonist) & give us quick background exposition & escalate her mentality to the exploding moment, simply cuz tohru (the protagonist) isn’t emotionally in her most vulnerable moment yet. Tohru’s issues will be presented deeper  with each pov chapter she’ll have. So what should the writer do now?
This is a connected plot, meaning the emotions belonging to the previous chapter are still lingering & needs to be dealt with. There is no stupid laughing & cooking or even dumber momentarily amnesia. Nope! There is this:
Tumblr media
-The Art of Writing Slow-Burns: (Lingering Emotions:)
Last time kyo hugged tohru thro the sheets. sth he wouldn’t do if it weren’t for the heartbreaking moment of tohru’s tears & the reason behind them. Why wouldn he do it? cuz he believes he’s the reason of her pain & is setting his mind on leaving her & being imprisoned as a punishment. He  wouldn’t do it cuz he loves her but he did it cuz he loves her. why? cuz love is illogical. Kyo’s heart moved him effortlessly to embrace her & “ his tenderness covered her pain” as the writer put it at the end of ch109.
Last time tohru hugged kyo thro the sheets, sth she wouldn’t do if it weren’t for the comfort of his warmth enveloping her loneliness & providing safety & a home. A home can a person. Why wouldn she do it? cuz Tohru is someone who hides pain behind a smile, someone who thinks she’s ugly & unlovable cuz she’s grieving still after all this time. She’s thinks she’s a burden. But here she confessed to kyo unprompted or advised by anybody. He only asked a fleeting question. but tohru cant hide who she is friom him anymore. Still, he accepted her & tenderly held her thro the sheets & she threw her body at him, she initiated the hug.
The sheet hig is the biggest emotional moment between kyo/tohru yet. It altered how they feel for each other cuz in that moment tohru’s mask fell & kyo was the most honest with himself emotionally. That’s not sth you move from with the stupid ED song. They both try to carry out normally afterwards cuz they live together after all. The slightest touch brings..... sexual tension!!!  it was so bad poor yuki left the house running!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
The writer cleverly escalates the sexual tension as they awkwardly try to find a talking topic, then dissolves it a bit when kto asks if tohru wants to go out together & where, then escalates it when tohru suggests buying eggs cuz she’s awkward, then dissolves it when kyo grumpily agrees but this is just grocery shopping” not a fun going out”, the escalates it when tohru said she’s happy for just bring together with him regardless of the location & kyo looses it! sexual tension explodes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The target of the slow-burn isn’t the characters... the target is the audience! the writer plays with their emotions & cleverly puts the audience in a place where they desperately want these two idiots together but still remember why they aren’t! that’s very important. Having the readers cheer for a romantic relationship includes the readers understanding the obstacles ahead & how big they are & still cheer. If the obstacles are meh~ the readers will find the couple unrealistic, if the obstacles are so big & the couples emotions aren't buildup properly, then the couple themselves will feel meh~. Glad kyoru survived such writing mistakes both manga & anime ( anime hurt their characters more than their relationship).
-Yuki wants to move on from the unofficial son third wheeling his mom & her man:
The writer jokes abt yuki admitting he felt as a son watching his mon & her bf. I love tha this joke becuz it cleverly addresses the following points:
it is cleverly weaved in with the kyoru incident from last chapter. Sth happen & yuki doesn't know what is & doesn't want to! Yuki represents the audience I talked abt in the slow-burn point above. He is us. He’ll cheer for them to be together & will be so frustrated when they can’t. It adds to yuki confronting kyo at the climax!!! You see in the anime kyo/yuki stopped interacting much in se03. Then tada~~ big fight when it’s a must! & can’t be escaped... Here we still have kyo/yuki moments despite each boy moving away from his issues being the fault of the other. Basically better writing.....
The writer cleverly used this to address that yuki still feels like tohru’s son sometimes despite being more independent now, which is natural as you cant switch ur feelings with a button. But also the writer doesnt stay in this moment long & use it to build the next moment.. yuki/Aya , yuki/machi & aya/mine.... sadly all there dynamics are shortened in the anime like kyoru’s.
-I don’t think yuki/Aya  moment suffered much from the cuts, the entire school parents meeting ep us enough to reconcile the brothers. Aya defended yuki that day & so did yuki. He completely accepted him & stood up to him in front of the mom.
- More aya/mine would’ve been good to see & I would’ve preferred it to yuki/motoko moments in the anime that served nothing. but aya/mine too are stand alone story. They’re the most alike couple in a healthy way. Aya is the guy who protected his woman the most. simply cuz he’s the snake. snakes are secretive. he kept her to himself, even from yuki!!! impressive.
- What I lament from the cut of this mini yuki adventure?
1- This: ( yuki’s facial expressions) This is sth the anime fears, either cuz (a) pretty yuki is 100% pretty all the time, so no expressiveness cuz it leads to showing eyebrows & hiding them under layers of hair is the A.B.C of pretty characters... (b) Yuki in the anime is a prince 98% of the time, except with kyo (they got rid of this in se03 & give them one honest/ugly moment together) & with kakeru (one tiny moment in se03 in match’’s focus ep & then quickly back to prince yuki!)..., ugh!!!!!! I hate how yuki is prince thro & thro in the anime!!that’s why they couldn’t get rid of any motoko content!!! he’s a prince there... heck! school girls float after him the graduation ceremony... what’s up with that!! lol.
Tumblr media
2-. This: ( machi with the toy that tohru/kisa/kagura/momiji & kiro like! so cute!!! also, foreshadowing yuki’s future chosen extended family! (his bro & his wife), (yuki & his wife) & best friend/his brother in law! Also, yuki is so himself! no glitters, no bubbles & no pretending anger! <3
Tumblr media
Side Notes:
The lovely @mizzraynelly made notice kto’s speech in ch109 abt not vising his mom’s grave! Even tho it’s such a minor line, it’s one of the biggest cuts that foreshadow the accumulation of kyo’s guilt towards his mom. Kyo’s thing is guilt towards ppl he loves & fear of hurting them, by keeping this feeling alive in readers’ minds, the writer is making sure that the climax will hurt like sharp knives cuz the readers are on the same wave liength as kyo!!! epic buildup consists of tiny subtle pieces!
Luckily, kyoru as a ship felt so strong in both manga & anime despite the later cutting half of their moments. Why? cuz the chosen cuts didnt affects the romantic relationship...no... the cuts affects the characters’ own personal struggle... most precisely tohru. Kyo’s own character struggles had better luck in the anime despite the cuts, simply cuz (a) was drawn with very expressive emotions & the anime team lingered on them in his scenes. (b) His character design as a whole was very expressive, the anime team didnt give him constant wide eyes like tohru & didn’t fear expr4essivness will affect for his “beauty “ like yuki. (c) kyo was given one ep per season for his issues which altho not much but way better than tohru (d) most important: kyo’s issues are very universal & very relatable” feeling guilt, mistakes & choosing wrong. That’s sth we all do!!! Tohru’s thing is grieve: this is very personal & most ppl experience it differently.
I love kyo’s oufit!!! we have a hint of this moment in se03, ep 10 when yuki was fighting kyo... but they made yuki see them shopping as opposed of him seeing them being sexually charged!
I’m so mad this kyoru moment is cut!!!!!! tohru as a woman with pending sexual emotions is so refreshing & underrated in the trope of “ girl saves guys”. Also, it contradicts the pure mom image that’s been suffocating her since se01 ep 1!!!!! oh now i know why it’s cut... That’s why! momma tohru is so pure for such things & only when it’s the last two eps, then will allow her to be a woman choosing to live away with her man by her own desire! Why the anime only allow things ti happen when there’s no escape!!! I’ve always felt tohru/kyo is the type of couple to be expressive emotionally & sexually with each other based on seeing that ALL of their romantic interaction involves body language & I’m so happy there’s a canon proof so early before the future glimpse in finale!!!!!!
I liked the aya-story, but it felt like the typical “ lesson of the day” formula, so I didnt analyze it much, but I enjoyed the brotherly interaction so much!! It had a gold mine of yuki being himself & so nit a prince! Im so happy I saw it! <3.
Every time yuki looked expressive is a happy moment for me!

Can you write a prince!tom imagine about reader being a maid in the palace and prince tom, who had snuck out, tries to climb up to his room, but accidentally ends up in reader's room while she is alseep as his window is locked, so he spends the night in her room on the floor and she wakes up and sees him shirtless on the floor, and as he is seen walking out of her room early in morning and everyone thinks she slept with him, and he invites her to his ball that his parents hosted and he gets her an extravagant dress made and as they dance she asks him why is doing this and he teasingly asks her " is it every girl's dream to be dancing with the prince while wearing an expensive dress?"
summary: the day the prince falls into a room is a the day the young maid thinks she’ll be unable to forget
prince!tom x reader
w/c 1.8k
blurb week!
a/n - i got a little bit carried away :)
tom had snuck out of the castle plenty of times, that was one of the downsides to being the prince, he could never go out and go where he wanted, so he had to do it secretly.
he wasn’t sure what he’d done wrong this time. there were guards outside of his main window, the one he had climbed out of only a few hours earlier, so he had to find another way into the castle without being detected.
the only other open and accessible window he could find was a little way down, and with a bit of poor judgement, he assumed that it was also attached to his room.
he cursed himself as soon as he hit the cold stone floor of the room, noticing that this was most definitely not his chambers.
he rose from the ground, rubbing the sore spot on his arm where he’d landed on the floor. that’s when he noticed you in the small bed.
he didn’t recognise you at all, but from the size of the room and the lack of decoration and warmth, led him to believe you must’ve been one of the maids.
he knew he should leave, and stop staring, but right now he was captivated by you. he thought you were absolutely gorgeous and he made a mental note to look for you in the castle more often.
in his defense, he did try and leave the room, but he noticed the swarm of guards outside and had to decide against it. he promised himself that he’d be up and out of your room before you even knew he’d ever been there.
so, he made himself comfortable on the floor, using his jacket as a pillow and stealing a folded blanket he found on a random chair to keep him warm.
tom was incredibly uncomfortable all night. anyone would be while laying on a stone floor in a random room, when he could be in his large comfy bed.
a shrill scream woke him up from his restless sleep, the male shooting up from his spot and noticing you, the girl who’s room he had snuck into. he was quick to place his hand over your mouth, silencing you from making any other noise that could alert someone in the castle.
“i need you to stay quiet,” he said, hesitantly removing his hand from your mouth. your eyes were still wide as you stared at him, your hands shaking at the idea of the prince being in your room.
“why are you- what are you-“ you couldn’t get your words out quick enough, tom taking pity on the scare he’d given you.
“i climbed into the wrong window last night, and i couldn’t get out,” he explained. you nodded, slowing your breaths until your heart was back beating at a regular pace.
only in the silence did you realise he was shirtless, his toned abdomen on full display for you to gawk at.
“i- um,” he laughed at your stuttering, noticing your eyes locked on his body.
“what’s your name, i haven’t seen you around here before.”
you gulped, finally letting your eyes drift back to his, seeing an amused twinge.
“i’m y/n.”
you explained to tom that your role in the castle was simply a maid, but you spent most of your time down in the kitchen with the older ladies. when he asked why he didn’t get an answer he wanted, but rather an upsetting one.
“they’re older, so they want to protect me from the guards’ punishments.”
tom’s heart sank, a frown etching its way onto his face. he was never aware of the way the guards would treat the staff, hoping that his own personal ones would never, unless they wanted a scolding.
“i’m so sorry, i didn’t know they did that.” you shrugged, playing with a loose thread on your nightgown. you were grateful that the night before you’d chosen a more modest one, just so you didn’t have another reason to be nervous in front of the handsome prince.
“you should go,” you said, not missing the slight look of offense that crossed his face. “we were told the king and your family had a trip today, at 10?”
tom’s eyes widened, a quiet curse mumbled under his breath.
“i’m sorry again, for falling into your room,” he reiterated, gathering his discarded clothes into a pile in his arms.
“it’s okay,” you giggled, opening the door for him because of his full hands.
“i’ll see you soon, y/n,” he pressed a parting kiss to your cheek, noting the slight tint of red that arose.
the princes attempts at being sneaky had failed once again, after being spotted sneaking out of your room, clothes in hand, by one of his beat soldiers.
the blonde man snickered, raising his eyebrows at the young prince, who simply punched him in the arm and made his journey back to his room.
tom did as he said he would, he searched for you in the castle more and more often. the two of you were now having more frequent conversations, in the breaks between you both working.
due to your conversation a few days ago, tom knew exactly where to look for you when he wanted to ask something.
there were murmurs and squeals from the maids just slightly older than you when tom entered the kitchen, strutting right over to your side.
“hi,” he greeted, stopping in place next to you. you and a few of the cooks furrowed their eyebrows, the royals almost never stepped foot in the kitchen.
“your highness,” you responded, politely tilting your skirt in acknowledgment, “what are you doing in here?”
he took your hand from where it rested on the table, running his thumb over your knuckles and flashing you a smile.
“come to my parents' ball with me,” he said. your eyes widened at how it sounded like a demand. he realised how it sounded and shook his head. “you don’t have to, i-“
he laughed at himself, finding it hard to believe he was getting nervous while talking to a girl.
“please will you come to the ball with me, as my date?” you heard a few synchronized gasps from the older women in the room. heart beginning to race in your chest.
you grasped his hand, and much to the women’s dismay, you dragged him out of the room and into a quieter area, where you could be sure no one was listening in.
“are you serious?” you asked, trying to find out if he was joking.
he pouted, squeezing your hand gently. “i’m completely serious, i want you to come with me.”
a smile broke out onto your face, making the prince’s heart beat slightly faster.
“okay, i’d be honoured.”
the next few days were filled with unexpected chaos. feeling as though he had to get you the most extravagant dress he could pay for, tom had you getting measured by the queen’s seamstress.
the dress was made in no time, tom standing right by your side as you were given the chance to admire it on your body for the first time.
“what do you think?” you asked, motioning to the dress with your arms. tom was in awe. you took his silence as a negative, laughing painfully and trying to ignore the way the dress made you feel.
“you don’t like it, i-it’s okay, neither do i-“ you rambled.
“you look incredible, you’re so beautiful y/n,” he gushed. your eyes widened and your body grew hot. nerves flooded your body and you suddenly became a rambling, but shy mess. tom of course found it adorable.
“this is the one, mary,” he confirmed, noticing your small smile when you looked at the flowy material in the mirror. tom shuffled over to you, placing his hands on your waist and his chin on your shoulder, looking at you through the mirror.
“you’re going to be the prettiest lady at the ball.” he pressed a soft kiss to your shoulder, your heart fluttering as you made eye contact.
“thank you, your highness.” he shook his head, rolling his eyes.
“you don’t have to call me that, how many times do i need to tell you?” he teased, poking your stomach to tickle you.
“force of habit,” you defended. you didn’t even notice the adoring looks that mary was sending your way, watching how the prince interacted with you. she’d never seen him this happy since he was a small boy, and she was glad he’d found his happiness again.
the ball felt like it was months away, but it came all too soon, and now here you were, decked out in a gorgeous, expensive, gown, looking like the rest of the royalty in the room.
“care to dance, m’lady?” you giggled at tom’s formalities, but nevertheless nodded, taking his outstretched hand and letting him guide you into the correct position for the dance.
you and tom had grown much closer since the time he fell into your room accidentally, finding more and more time to spend with each other. however, as of late you’d been getting more and more insecure. wondering why someone with tom’s status would want to spend time with someone of yours.
“your hig-“ tom gave her a look, warning her about finishing his title, something he’d been doing for weeks with you. “sorry, tom, why are you doing this?” his brow furrowed, cocking his head in confusion.
“isn’t it every girl's dream to be dancing with the prince while wearing an expensive dress?” he teased. except you didn’t pick up on the teasing tone, instead believing that he was just being cocky. he noticed your face fall and he was quick to apologise. “i was kidding, i’m really not that full of myself.”
guilt instantly took over and you frowned, looking into his eyes to try and decipher any emotion you could, scared you’d hurt his feelings.
“i’m sorry, i shouldn’t have-“ he smiled, pulling you impossibly closer to him while you danced.
“it’s okay,” he promised. “i really like you, that’s why i’ve been around so much.”
you sighed, a small smile creeping onto your face. leaning forward, you rested your forehead against his, the close proximity making you both grin.
“what about your parents?” you asked. you had a rough idea on the king and queens opinion on the ‘servants.’ the queen being more lenient than the king.
“i don’t care what they think, if my mother knows i’m happy with you, she won’t interfere.”
he lifted his hand from yours, coming to stroke your cheekbone with his thumb. “ignore my title, and let’s just try this.”
he didn’t let your silence scare him, but he let you have a chance to think it through.
“okay, my prince.” he rolled his eyes, ignoring the prying eyes of the towns people, kissing you softly.
“just think, all of this because i fell into your room.”
you giggled, pecking his lips again. “feel free to do it again, anytime.”

TKEM ep 13: thoughts, feels and theories
Tumblr media
Ah. So here we are. Only 3 episodes left and still two weeks to go. Something that I thought was tue last week, but well, life is unpredictable.
Last week's episodes were full of action, blood, twists, romance and thrill. This week's episode (and I'm still bitter about it only being one... I mean, that's not enough of Minho dosis for me or for anyone and the thing I hate most about live watching dramas is preemption ugh) was the calm before the storm, nicely setting everything into motion for the doom and the mind blowing-ness to fall upon us next.
I wanted to do little posts about some of my thoughts in my favorite scenes, but because I'm angry about only having one episode that ended on that note LIKE SERIOUSLY How do they even expect me to last a week after that TERRIBLE ending??!!! I decided I just want to rant out my theories and feelings here lmao.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, we finally have confirmation on that assumption that it was Lee Gon (time traveling somehow) the one who saved himself in 1994. I've been suspecting that for a while except that is always nice to know for sure and the thing I never thought was that Lee Rim would caught onto that as well.
I still can't believe that PM killed (or got her killed) her counterpart from the Republic. Poor lady, we never met her, but I'm assuming she was actually nicer than PM, and most of all, an innocent person. So disappointed in PM because I thought her talent and personality could've been put into use on the good side, but *sigh* oh well. She decided to support the wrong team. And that part of her fate is sealed, because we know the bad side is just not gonna win, no matter how much harm they do. Yikes.
Tumblr media
I mean, yes. She has a point. It’s just that our King likes to think ahead. That’s how he is. He was well aware of the doom in their relationship since their early stages.
Like I mentioned before, there was not much happening this episode, because it was obviously the basis for the big climax that's ahead of us. But I still enjoyed every minute of it, of course. And I know we didn't see, but I just can’t help but think there are some calculations and actual planning that we haven't seen on Lee Gon's part.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LOL, rude!
Tumblr media
Again with this? Yeong, come on!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stop it with the melo eyes. I know you care about your King. We know you love him and we love you for that but give us a break. Nobody needs a reminder when it’s all there, waiting to make us cry. Also, Woo DoHwan appreciation shots.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My favorite scene this ep and yes, I know how crazy that sounds. Like I said in an earlier post, this is just amazing. I feel the need to congratulate Lee Rim for leveling up, because the  whole “you have the same face as my nephew’s deceased mother” plan was really not gonna work very well, since his hot majesty knows that woman is NOT his mother and had no interest in her. BUT using the face of TaeEul, the woman he loves, as the weapon to make him put his guard down and actually harming him in the way we have been reminded and alerted to since ep 1 (to the point of practically becoming a comic relief, a joke) is totally brilliant and horribly cruel.
Tumblr media
I know this was PP but they were also telling us that’s where the poison was. Hehe. Also, I might be the only one who is actually entertained by Product placements. I mean, they’re hilarious. And definitely not the worst I’ve seen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
NO! Listen to me you freaking Luna! I know you’re a fictional character, but you have no idea how much I want to hit you right now! HOW DARE YOU! You’re paying for this. Btw nice parallel.
I don't know if I'm breaking the rules of theorizing by going about the spoilers I've seen and the previews with bits that have not happened yet in the drama but I'm gonna go ahead anyway. LOL I think the King is going to try fix things ala Back to the Future way (pretty sure people have thought this as well since spotting that phonecase from TaeEul's) but in doing so, and we know the dynamic from the movies, some things from the present time are gonna change, including some first meetings and interactions between characters up to the point in the story we currently are in. And maybe that's why Lee Gon will try to visit TaeEul at different points in her life so she remembers him when she's an adult and sees him again, and that would explain why in that preview from the other day, they showed their first meeting with TaeEul higging Lee Gon instead of the other way, because she knows who he is or has seen him before.
And all that sounds a lot like The time traveler's wife (the movie, bc I haven't read the book) story to me. This drama is becoming a weirdly interesting mix of those two stories. I just hope the drama ends on a more Back to the future way because otherwise it would be a very sad ending 😢 and that goes against my belief that TKEM will end up with a happily ever after. And I need to keep that hope so my sanity doesn’t suffer.

Theory time!
(I don't remember who made this title. Please, someone, let me know so I can credit them)(warning essay post)
Is no one gonna talk about how investing the personifications of Thomas’s sides have gotten? No talking about the expansion of the Sanders Sides’ as personas?
I feel that they have been getting textured in a far more believable manner, namely Patton. We have learned of the character’s identity in regards to Morality and in being its embodiment, the strict and oppressive nature of it.
Personally, I love the layering of doubt, stubbornness, and dejection going into the representation for them all.
Virgil and his past erasure, denying the essence of who he used to be and whom he used to affiliate with.
No one listening to Roman.
Also, can we all just accept that Deceit is dismissed way too easily by most of the sides? He suggests lying even once (always after someone else considered it) and everything else he says is lobbied out the window. (Yes I know he’s my favorite so I hAvE a BiAs)
I’m. So. Pumped! I have so many theories.
You know what?  I’m about to get into it. Warning Long post!
FULL ESSAY MODE ENGAGING!
First: Let’s talk about the general character’s representations.
Within the realm of the series structure, we have learned about the weight of Thomas's opinions of his sides and their personifications. We’ve seen this with the Duke’s arrival, Marking him as the unwelcome side of Thomas’ creative thoughts.
This representation style for the character Doubles as a ground for individual motivations as well as the metaphysical repercussions of a side’s role, mentally for Thomas. Much Like how Thomas questioning his own good natured-ness being a discussion by Deceit and Morality, but also “Patton” and “whatever Deceit’s name is”.
Which means that a Side might make a decision or an appearance-based upon either a character choice-- which tends to be personal, or their supposed position in the ’Thomasphere’.
For example, Virgil is an anxious character who seeks to protect Thomas from poor decision making.  However he also compulsively brings up information that he is aware is troubling to Thomas. Because in that regard he cannot separate himself from the role he plays in Thomas’s mind. Virgil could also make decisions based squarely upon personal bias. Such as avoiding telling Thomas about the “others” despite Thomas asking directly.
I mention this because Thomas’s general opinion regarding a set of traits dictates the representation of the characteristic when embodied. Take for example if Thomas looked more harshly on the idea of repressed thoughts. Morality’s character could have just as easily been called “Denial”. This still would have played into the character’s person being both stubborn, dismissive, and childish. A line like “where do babies come from?” despite being a dad could have been a reinforcement into the idea that Thomas couldn’t trust that voice in his head to be rational.
This simple implication leads me to leave that due to Thomas’ view on selfishness, that he too was erasing the potential contributions to be offered by a character like Virgil at the beginning of the Series. If Thomas valued vigilance more, then Virgil would have been seen as something like ‘Caution’ or ‘practicality’.
What I mean when I mention this is, Thomas is not an inherently reliable narrator, and thus the representations of characters framed by his opinion should be under scrutiny as well. We all can very easily see the value of a character like ‘Anxiety’ now that Thomas’s morality has taken the time to paint it in a positive light.
But why his morality and not Character Thomas alone? Because these ‘sides’ are all facets of Thomas. So there must be a part of him that is making these decisions about himself rather than just him as a whole. That part, in my opinion, is Patton.
Why does this distinction matter? Because the sides are also Characters. They have individual wants that--though they are not separate from Thomas, are separate from each other. They don’t inherently know each other’s names, they don’t know their memories, and they very specifically don’t know all they contribute. What they do know is how they interact with each other from their perspectives and experiences.
Does it seem like Deceit and Morality disagree? Well of course they do. One relies on self-sacrifice and the dismissal of negative identities, the other can spot lies and dishonesty, and functions on self-preservation and self-honesty as a priority. Of course, they can’t mix. But, whose claim to power would affect the other the most? Tell me, which of these two do you believe would cast the other to a forgotten part of Thomas’s mind? The direct selfish one, or the repressive, abnegatious one? (i may have made up that conjugation)
So by character and characterizations standpoint, there is reason to believe that the side with the most authority is Patton, Thomas’ Morality. This stands to reason why Thomas has spent the last few episodes questioning whether or not his ‘goodness’ is intact whenever he has to face off his own “banished” dispositions. Because if there is any part of Thomas that should dictate who he chooses to identify himself with, it is his Morality. (I believe)
It is for this reason that I have ‘Beef’ with the response Thomas has to Deceit, an entity who ‘by Patton’s own words ”acts with the one intention of self-preservation.” ( CLBG => 23:54) and Remus a literal stream of consciousness.
With deceit, I think there is more to the character than a personification of being untruthful, but instead, there is the willingness to be untruthful and the recognized deceit in others. He knows when any character is misplacing the truth and urges them to honesty, as though it is fine for Thomas to lie as long as it's not to himself (though deceit himself doesn't follow that rule). Which Is why I find it telling that he appears after the ‘Moving on’ episode (if we dismiss the Christmas episode). Patton--Thomas’s morality and framing for the rest of his thoughts, was lying to himself, and by association, to Thomas.
Second: The Deceit Character response
(I separated this from the first bit because I get VERy lost in the sauce when I talk about my Snake son.)
I’m gonna start off talking about the internal perception of deceit from the characters. Then go into the personification of the sides Dark sides included. This will include timestamps to the Selfishness v. Selflessness Episode.
Let’s look at the beginning of the episode (3:53) "so I can't join in and give my honest opinion"
It’s bizarre that should Deceit directly say that Thomas wanted to go to the callback, the core sides would have said he was lying. This character has to LITERALLY disguise himself for anyone to listen to him. He then continues to go out of his way to show the rest of the group Evidence as to why Thomas felt this way. That seems to be what it takes for them to even think about it.
He tries to be straight forward at (5:25) "do you want the part in the movie or not" no lies no tricks. But when Thomas won't answer, Roman does. Then this happens.
(6:26) "maybe Mary and Lee will understand" - Roman
(6:28) "Roman, this is their big day. We have to be there for them" - Patton
(6:32) "We don't have to do anything" - Deceit
What the literal Frick Patton? He can't even ask? Roman suggested a non Deceitful option for Thomas to make and you slapped it down. But now that Deceit suggested lying, Roman had to throw that whole decision out the window?
Also, you wanna hear toxic self-talk? "But what about us? What about us?" Think about if someone else said that.
"but what about me" "what about you?" That's horrible! You Fricken matter dude! Sure it's not ideal, but you weren't born to be a doormat for your friends.
There is a point where Patton’s opinion on Thomas’ friends exceeds even the suggestions of said friends. Apparently, Thomas is to throw away his chances at happiness for the sake of his friends’ without even knowing if that would make them happy. I can’t see how this is a fruitful way of thinking.
Plus as an added bonus, there is as much disregard for Thomas’s say on the matter as his friends. Anything that doesn’t align with a perfectly selfless gesture is thrown out, outright. Even Thomas’ own decisions.
(7:16) "you don't mean any of this" Patton that definitely doesn’t sound a little gaslighty. But to be fair, he acknowledged that much at the end.
Then a bit later, when Patton is telling Thomas how he feels. You could see that Deceit knows No one would believe him should he call mortality dishonest, though his character can literally tell. (7:21)
Ughhh I can't wait for this thread to be resolved. It is literally killing me.
I feel that this is more than enough reason to at least consider: Deceit is trying to be helpful. He is self-preservation, (though with more plots of deception) and serves a purpose in Thomas’ thoughts. Just. Like. Virgil.
Though Virge isn't exactly the best at fully accepting himself either. He didn't want to tell Thomas that he was a dark side and refuses to associate with his past. Though he knows he was doing it for a good reason. Isn't it telling that even when Virge is doing it for self-preservation reasons, he doesn't think Thomas will think it's ok? And who determines what Thomas thinks is ok?
(30:58) “If Thomas wanted to be seen as a good friend more than he wanted the role of a lifetime, well then I’m all for that. but I just don’t buy it.”
He is instinctual and Thomas' views on self-preservation seem to be what makes Deceit unwelcome to the group in the first place. Like Remus. Like Virgil. How do we know Thomas’ views on things like self-preservation? His morality shouts it out.
(29:52)
"acting in your own Self Interest" - Deceit
"but that's wrong" - Patton
Only later do we find out in Intrusive thoughts that Patton’s repressive and strict nature can be potentially harmful to Thomas. Just as high expectations for one’s self can negatively skew one’s self-sense of worth and decency. This is something I get and absolutely value in Patton’s characterization.
Morality in itself is a strictness with our thoughts, actions, and beliefs. To truly encourage good deeds there must be either a reward or a punishment. They can be small but the choice to obey must be an indispensable resource. For the sake of good deeds coming to action, It is necessary that Morality behaves this way. Granted that there are Checks and Balances for its authority. But again, there can be too much strictness, as Intrusive Thoughts portrays.
I feel that this is important to keep in mind for Deceit's personification. He has to exist in a way that still protects Thomas while under Patton's stronger ideals. So how must he guide Thomas?
When he actually had to make Thomas say what he wanted himself, He asked about four times. And interestingly enough all he did was make Thomas be honest. It was at this point where I wished I could have gotten to hear what the scenario was for. Because I find it very telling that Deceit only hurt Thomas by making him be honest about his wants. Thomas looked so defeated. Not about wanting to lie about it. But about the actual truth spurring on the lie. Why did it hurt him to want to follow his dreams?
I feel that this representation of the character is more conducive to expressing Thomas’ unhealthy expectations for himself.
This is terrible working conditions as a voice of self-gain to be heeded. How is anyone meant to look after Thomas when their intentions are so actively misinterpreted? Deceit works to make Thomas Happy and seems to be the only one doing so consistently (out of the only two and a half episodes he was in).
If there is anything more telling of this, it is the fact that Thomas “taking care of himself” went from Patton (Way Too Adult) to Roman(Growing up) to Logan(WDWGOoBiTM). No character has been able to sustainably take care of Thomas in this way despite their role in his life. Even Roman is willing to dash his dreams if met with enough opposition.
Thomas’ morality does not dictate his self-care or his general wants, neither does his logical side or Fanciful one, unfortunately. If they did, Deceit would not have to be the one making the rest of the aspects listen to Thomas’s Wants.
Roman is literally Thomas's ego. Hence why Deceit mainly shows up for him, both times. Deceit is internal maintenance while Patton is the external (intercommunication-al) maintenance, it would seem.
Finally: A Resolution
I think "Discovering Balance" would be a great addition to this series, by having Virgil and Deceit come to an understanding as much as Deceit and Patton.
Plus Deceit must have been in a similar position to Patton when Virgil was a dark side, encouraging him to keep Thomas alert, for Thomas' preservation. Seeing as the character also hold s the reins over Remus. But it's fairly important to note that Virgil's external worries come from logic and internal ones come from perceived moral failure. Such as ruining friendships.
Which means Patton's inability to see the worst in people (even Thomas) and strong values would make a character like Virgil particularly susceptible to wanting to both protect and gain the favor of him. This might mean washing away his past, a thing he has yet to resolve.
I have no doubt that Patton can come around to any of the dark sides. He’s been pretty open to understanding things, (if presented the way it is destructive to Thomas to avoid). But I think having Virgil lead him and Thomas through it, would be far more valuable. Thomas needs to learn to love himself and he can’t do that by hiding from difficult truths. I think a chance to have the dark sides accepted openly and directly would help put Thomas at ease with himself.
But again there needs to be balance. Thomas must keep his behaviors to others in mind, but also his own self-care.
At the current state of things, The fact that he isn't allowed to seek out external opinions on his behaviors (like not talking to Lee and Mary Lee) is a sign that there isn't balance on this side either. And he's not seeking any reinforcement for his wants being VALID. That just won’t do.
He needs to talk to his friends. I can't stress this enough.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
P.S. I do love Patton, but I think it is irresponsible for the character not to acknowledge the pressure he’s putting Thomas under. He seems to be getting around to it, so I still love him. But that does not mean I have lost any love for my Snek boi.

Camp Nano - Day 1
Wooo! Camp NaNo has started! And I’m off to a good start, so I thought I’d share this! It’s the first scene, I’ve written the basic outline of this before but I’ve changed some things slightly to make the story make a bit more sense. I have written more today but I’m not entirely happy with it as it stands, so I’m going to skip that over for now. Anyway, I hope you enjoy, and the best of luck with your Camp NaNo projects if you’re taking part!
Tumblr media
November that year was bitter, but I didn't have time to dwell on how cold the gardens were. Not today.
Age 17 is the year the Crown Prince or Princess is assigned his or her companions.
I was hesitant about this. The entire premise of this... they are assigned to me. Great. The only people I will be able to interact with on a personal level that are not immediately related to me and I don't even get to choose them.
The companions (for the Prince, his Grooms of the Stole, for the Princess, her Maidens of Honour) will accompany and assist the Prince or Princess in the day to day lives and act as confidantes.
Father assured me that he had made good matches for me. Respectable matches, girls who have their own identities and achievements of their own merit. I can only assume he means they come from the various towns around Kosmos.
There shall be five companions assigned to the Prince or Princess, and they will live in the castle with the Prince or Princess.
That part always worried me. They would be leaving their families, their homes, to come live with me. They might have only ever come to the capital one or two times, maybe come on a tour of the castle with their school as children, but now they would be moving into my home, living in the room next door to mine.
The companions shall engage with the Prince or Princess through any and all public appearances.
This also means spend almost every minutes of my private life with them as well.
The companions shall be educated with the Prince or Princess and must complete their schooling.
Not that there is much schooling left to do around age 17, but it all depends upon the ages of my "companions" when I meet them. The youngest was my grandmother's, at 15 when they met, but she fit in apparently. But father said he didn't get on well with one of his Grooms, so I must always maintain a professional relationship with them. Remember that. If you get too personal, it can open cracks that can fester and infect the relationship. It could make your life much more miserable.
I looked at myself in the mirror, making sure my dress was straight. Happy birthday to me, I thought. Father always said that having my maidens would be a great chance to earn some public respect by completing acts of charity like he had done. I understood this, but my main problem was my lack of choice. The maidens will have known for weeks now, and will be all packed and ready for their Officiation.
Basically, we all meet in the great hall. The Ruling Monarch, in this case it is my father, will then ask each of them if they are willing to join me, in front of witnesses. The witnesses include the families of those who are to be my maidens. I am to bow to the maidens, and they bow to me. One at a time. I am stood in front of my father, and they are stood in a line some ten feet away. They will bow to me one at a time until they are all Officiated into my service. I will thank them individually as they are introduced to me. Then I am to lead them to their rooms where they can unpack their belongings before officially starting.
Technically speaking, the maidens will be briefed on what they are expected to do, their duties and responsibilities to me and the crown. I won't have to mention this unless I ask them to do something else, because everything they need to know is drilled into them before they start.
This journey, to the main hall from my bedroom, would mark the last time I am officially allowed to walk the corridors unaccompanied.
The day of my 17th birthday.
I made my way down the stone corridors, straightening my sleeves as I went. The guards I passed lowered their heads and didn't make a sound until I passed them. I could feel the chill from the open window nearby, and these corridors were not insulated. The rooms were, but these corridors could freeze in winter. We were out to sea, technically, since we were off the mainland. It had occurred to me how this may take some getting used to for them.
“Excuse me, your highness -” a voice from behind calls to me. One of the guards I had just passed. I turned back around to face them, halting in my place.
One of the guards was still front facing away from me, stood completely to attention. But the other one - a tall, well built man with dark hair and tanned skin, with deep brown eyes that spoke volumes. He stepped forwards, an arm outstretched towards me, something in his hand. My ribbon, from one of my sleeves.
Instinctively I look down at my sleeves, and realise that it is indeed my ribbon. The left sleeve was missing the ribbon which kept the sleeve tight, the right one still tied in its bow.
I turn back around and step closer to the guard. His head is still bowed down as he offers the ribbon back to me, and doesn’t look me in the eye.
“Thank you very much, Sergeant…?” I ask, taking the ribbon from him.
“Corporal, your highness,” he corrects me, standing tall and perfectly straight, his arms snapped by his side as soon as I take the ribbon from him. “Corporal Jeleń, your highness.”
“My apologies - thank you, Corporal.”
I bowed my head down a little, fixing the ribbon on my sleeve, before I turned back around and walked away. I could hear him salute behind me, and I continued to make my way to my destination.
I arrive in the main hall barely a minute later and take my assigned seat just behind my father's throne. I clasp my hands together in front of me, on my knees, and look up at the crowd, trying not to make any specific eye contact. I keep my eyes on the decorative banners that hang from the high ceiling, the burgundy and blue stripes with a golden insignia. They sway softly in the air, gently lit by the lights hanging nearby. I can hear the chatter of the witnesses but I try my best not to look up.
I knew the layout of this room as well as everyone else did. The door from which I had entered was the quickest way to my assigned seating, which had remained unchanged for the ruling monarch of my country since it's construction in the 18th century. Our seats were on a slightly elevated platform with plenty of room on either side for more chairs to be added (in the case of multiple siblings, assuming they ever made it to adulthood). The regal King or Queen was seated centrally, their husband or wife seated slightly behind them to their right, and any children were behind them and slightly to the left. If I had a few brothers or sisters, I would still have the seat closest to my father. This spot is reserved specifically for the Crown Prince or Princess.
The room in front of us was almost like a church. Just below our platform was a decently sized open area, and behind that are several rows of seats. These seats are not 100% filled to capacity. In the grand scheme of things, this Officiation is pointless when there are more pressing matters at hand. And at the end of the day, it was redundant to hold this. The Maidens have already accepted the role by simply turning up.
"All rise!"
The words from the usher to my right brought the hall to silence within a second. With that, my father arrived into the room. He took his place at my side, but did not take his seat. I remained stood to, I had to. I had no chance to take a seat now.
"We are gathered here for the Officiation of the Maidens of Honour," the usher proclaimed, still stood to my side, "who will serve the Crown Princess Anjelika Maciejewska Górskanka, daughter of King Maciej Pawełski Górskanki."
I wish he would hurry this along, I hate staring at the crowd aimlessly
"Would the five chosen maidens step forward?"
I watched as they emerged from the crowd, the five chosen to be my companions, friends chosen for me. What is that adage, you can't choose your family but you can choose your friends? Ha, I don't even have that luxury.
"Królewna Anjelika, please step forward."
Taking my place in front of my father's throne, I must stand straight, my hands clasped in front of me. This was the first time I had a proper look at the girls who were chosen as my Maidens.
From left to right, visually, all of them differed. In height, in posture, in looks. They all shared a similar facial expression, one of neutrality. I saw no trace of happiness to be here, but again I saw no sadness. If only I could see their eyes, eyes tell stories where words fail. All of them had their eyes to the floor.
“Zofia Mateuszewska Wójcika.“
The first girl was much darker in skin tone to the others. Her hair shoulder length and dark too. I couldn’t see her eyes because they were facing the ground. Something I did notice was how one of her legs was positioned, it looked odd for some reason that I couldn’t place yet. She curtsied to me, and I to her.
The King spoke next. “Do you accept the title and role of Maiden of Honour?”
“Yes, your majesty.”
“Will you fulfil those duties diligently and respectfully?”
“I will, your majesty.”
This is time for my words. “Welcome, Zofia. You may rise.”
She kept her eyes down but returned to her original posture. It occurred to me, as she stood up, just what was funny about how she was standing. She had a prosthetic leg. I barely noticed, because it didn’t make a sound and it was well hidden underneath her clothes. She did not seem bothered by it, she must have had it for a long time.
The next girl was addressed.
“Anastazja Fabianewska Lewandowska"
The wavy blonde hair rested on her shoulders, almost hiding her face as she bowed her head to me as she curtsied to me. She was wearing a similar suit to Zofia, except her blazer was longer and seemed higher up her neck than the smart cut that Zofia was wearing.
She was asked the ritualistic questions. I thanked her.
The cycle continues.
“Karolina Łukaszewiczka Lawniczka.”
A long haired redhead bowed her head this time. She was tall and fair skinned, and I did catch a glimpse of mesmerising green eyes beneath her red hair. She was skinny too, but her tall legs only accentuated this point. She was wearing a grey cardigan over a navy blue skirt that went down to her thighs.
“Irena Igorewska Dąbrowska“
The girl named Irena was a short, bespectacled girl, with shoulder length brown hair. She was more tanned in skin colour, but not as dark as Zofia was. She was wearing a white blouse with a blue ribbon tied perfectly centred, and a knee length pleated skirt.
“Matylda Benedictinska Wiśniewska“
There was a definite gap in age between this girl Matylda and the others. This one had a baby face and she looked at least three years younger than myself. She even acted like it, considering that she very, very briefly made eye contact with me before darting her gaze down to the floor, where everyone else's was. She was wearing a knee length grey skirt and dark tights, a white blouse and navy waistcoat.
That’s it, it’s over.
I suppose this will take some getting used to for all of us here.

Espresso is the base for most specialty café beverages. Frothed milk is added to espresso to make a cappuccino and steamed milk is added to espresso to make a latte. Various other flavorings can be added to customize these beverages into a wide variety of your favorite coffeehouse drinks • Capresso offers exclusive coffee makers for the true coffee lover. With a wide selection of choices, including Bean-to-Carafe Coffee Makers, Cup-to-Carafe Coffee & Tea Maker, Traditional Drip Coffee Makers and Personal Coffee Makers, Capresso leads in coffee innovation. • Grinding fresh whole coffee beans just before brewing will protect the aroma of your coffee and ensures the rich full-bodied taste stand outs. Ground coffee interacts with the air around it and within hours loses a great deal of flavor. The longer the ground coffee is exposed to air, the more aroma will be lost from your brewed cup of coffee or espresso • Electric water kettles offer speed, energy efficiency and safety. Capresso electric water kettles can boil water in nearly half the time as stove-top kettles offering not only a time savings but also energy savings. Electric kettles also offer numerous safety features such as boil dry protection which shuts the unit off when no water is detected, automatic safety shut-off when water has reached the desired temperature and shut-off when kettle is removed from base. Electric kettles also have heat resistant, cool-touch bottoms which allow for placement directly on a table or counter-top for easy portability and serving. • Custom brew a refreshing pitcher of iced tea at the touch of a button with the new Capresso Iced Tea Maker. Iced tea can be served and stored in the beautiful glass pitcher. 18 delicious recipes, including Blackberry Hibiscus Iced Tea, Refreshing Mint Green Tea and Fresh Peach Iced Tea are provided with the product. • In order to understand the difference between a coffee machine and an espresso machine we first need to understand the difference between espresso and coffee (also known as filter coffee, drip coffee or pour over coffee). Ultimately all coffee comes from the same place, the coffee bean. But each kind of machine has a different process and creates a different coffee experience. Which type of machine creates a better coffee? The coffee machine vs espresso machine debate has coffee connoisseurs divided worldwide. The goal of each machine is to create the best possible drink, but that of course, comes down to personal taste. • • What is espresso? • Espresso is a quintessential Italian drink that has now been adopted by coffee lovers worldwide. It is brewed by expressing or forcing out a small amount of nearly boiling water under pressure through finely ground coffee beans. The end product is known as a ‘shot’ and has a rich and creamy flavour. It can be consumed as it is or it can be used as the basis for other types of coffee such as cappuccino, latte, macchiato, ristretto or long black. The easiest way to make espresso coffee is with a Nespresso capsule machine. • Espressos are thicker in consistency than filter coffee and contain a higher level of caffeine. They also have layers known as the heart, body and the crema. • Heart The heart is the bottom layer of the espresso shot that contains the bitter qualities of the coffee. The colour of the heart should be a deep, rich brown. • Body The body is the middle layer of the espresso shot and is caramel brown in colour. • Crema The crema is the sweet golden layer that sits on top of an espresso shot. This is where the aroma comes from and some of the finest flavours. It is also the part of the shot that helps to create the coffee art that is often seen on barista cappuccinos and lattes. • What is coffee machine coffee? • Hot water is poured over ground coffee where it absorbs the flavours and oils of the beans. It then gradually drips through a filter into a mug or container below. It’s as simple as that. A premium option for anyone who prefers coffee maker style coffee is the Nespresso Vertuo machine. It has the ability to make larger volumes of coffee with less caffeine. It uses a similar brewing process to drip coffee known as centrifusion. The added bonus of this machine is that it can also make espresso for when you need a stronger drink. The difference between espresso machines and coffee makers It’s all in the brewing method Roasting Filter coffee beans are roasted with the brewing method in mind. The beans tend to be much lighter which preserves the acidity of the bean. In contrast, espresso roasts are usually much darker, and richer in flavour. This creates the intense flavour that espresso is famous for and also provides the strength of coffee required for mixing with milk to create cappuccinos and lattes. Grinding Espresso coffee machines use a fine, powder-like grind of coffee while coffee makers use a coarse, thick grind. Brewing The finer grind of espresso coffee means that an espresso machine brews and pours within about 30 seconds. In contrast, the coarser grind of drip coffee means you may have to allow up to ten minutes of brewing time. Pressure An espresso machine uses high pressure to force water through coffee within only a few seconds. Coffee makers rely on the power of gravity to gradually pull water through the filters. Price The coffee maker is almost always the cheaper option due to its simple function and limited features. But if it is a barista style coffee that you are seeking it’s well worth investing in a quality espresso machine. Caffeine Content Coffee makers produce somewhere between 95mg and 165mg of caffeine per 225ml cup. Coffee can be made stronger by selecting a darker roast or by increasing the brewing time. Espresso machines produce between 375mg and 520 mg of caffeine per 225ml. Nespresso capsules cater to all tastes. Original capsules contain between 50mg and 120mg, Vertuo capsules range from 70mg to 150 mg of caffeine for Espresso and Gran Lungo pours, and between 170mg and 200 mg per cup for Mug and Alto coffee sizes. Espresso machine vs coffee maker Which is better? Most coffee lovers world-wide would argue that espresso machines offer a more authentic, richer, creamier coffee experience. An espresso machine also allows you to select various types of coffee depending on your mood, taste or desired strength. In comparison, coffee makers are a one-function machine and will certainly produce a weaker coffee. If you are a coffee enthusiast, you will almost certainly prefer the end product delivered by an espresso machine. • For hundreds of years, making a cup of coffee was a simple process. Roasted and ground coffee beans were placed in a pot or pan, to which hot water was added, followed by attachment of a lid to commence the infusion process. Pots were designed specifically for brewing coffee, all with the purpose of trying to trap the coffee grounds before the coffee is poured. Typical designs feature a pot with a flat expanded bottom to catch sinking grounds and a sharp pour spout that traps the floating grinds. Other designs feature a wide bulge in the middle of the pot to catch grounds when coffee is poured. • In France, in about 1710, the Infusion brewing process was introduced. This involved submersing the ground coffee, usually enclosed in a linen bag, in hot water and letting it steep or "infuse" until the desired strength brew was achieved. Nevertheless, throughout the 19th and even the early 20th centuries, it was considered adequate to add ground coffee to hot water in a pot or pan, boil it until it smelled right, and pour the brew into a cup. • There were lots of innovations from France in the late 18th century. With help from Jean-Baptiste de Belloy, the Archbishop of Paris, the idea that coffee should not be boiled gained acceptance. The first modern method for making coffee using a coffee filter—drip brewing—is more than 125 years old, and its design had changed little. The biggin, originating in France ca. 1780, was a two-level pot holding coffee in a cloth sock in an upper compartment into which water was poured, to drain through holes in the bottom of the compartment into the coffee pot below. Coffee was then dispensed from a spout on the side of the pot. The quality of the brewed coffee depended on the size of the grounds - too coarse and the coffee was weak; too fine and the water would not drip the filter. A major problem with this approach was that the taste of the cloth filter - whether cotton, burlap or an old sock - transferred to the taste of the coffee. Around the same time, a French inventor developed the "pumping percolator", in which boiling water in a bottom chamber forces itself up a tube and then trickles (percolates) through the ground coffee back into the bottom chamber. Among other French innovations, Count Rumford, an eccentric American scientist residing in Paris, developed a French Drip Pot with an insulating water jacket to keep the coffee hot. Also, the first metal filter was developed and patented by French inventor. • Other coffee brewing devices became popular throughout the nineteenth century, including various machines using the vacuumprinciple. The Napier Vacuum Machine, invented in 1840, was an early example of this type. While generally too complex for everyday use, vacuum devices were prized for producing a clear brew, and were popular up until the middle of the twentieth century. • The principle of a vacuum brewer was to heat water in a lower vessel until expansion forced the contents through a narrow tube into an upper vessel containing ground coffee. When the lower vessel was empty and sufficient brewing time had elapsed, the heat was removed and the resulting vacuum would draw the brewed coffee back through a strainer into the lower chamber, from which it could be decanted. The Bauhaus interpretation of this device can be seen in Gerhard Marcks' Sintrax coffee maker of 1925. • An early variant technique, called a balance siphon, was to have the two chambers arranged side-by-side on a sort of scale-like device, with a counterweight attached opposite the initial (or heating) chamber. Once the near-boiling water was forced from the heating chamber into the brewing one, the counterweight was activated, causing a spring-loaded snuffer to come down over the flame, thus turning "off" the heat, and allowing the cooled water to return to the original chamber. In this way, a sort of primitive 'automatic' brewing method was achieved. • On August 27, 1930, Inez H. Pierce of Chicago, Illinois filed patent for the first vacuum coffee maker that truly automated the vacuum brewing process, while eliminating the need for a stove top burner or liquid fuels.[1] An electrically heated stove was incorporated into the design of the vacuum brewer. Water was heated in a recessed well, which reduced wait times and forced the hottest water into the reaction chamber. Once the process was complete, a thermostat using bi-metallic expansion principles shut off heat to the unit at the appropriate time. Pierce's invention was the first truly "automatic" vacuum coffee brewer, and was later incorporated in the Farberware Coffee Robot. • Pierce's design was later improved by U.S. appliance engineers Ivar Jepson, Ludvik Koci, and Eric Bylund of Sunbeam in the late 1930s. They altered the heating chamber and eliminated the recessed well which was hard to clean. They also made several improvements to the filtering mechanism. Their improved design of plated metals, styled by industrial designer Alfonso Iannelli, became the famous Sunbeam Coffeemaster line of automated vacuum coffee makers (Models C-20, C-30, C40, and C-50). The Coffeemaster vacuum brewer was sold in large numbers in the United States during the years immediately following World War I. • At the beginning of the twentieth century, although some coffee makers tended to uniformity of design (particularly stovetop percolators), others displayed a wide variety of styling differences. In particular, the vacuum brewer, which required two fully separate chambers joined in an hourglass configuration, seemed to inspire industrial designers. Interest in new designs for the vacuum brewer revived during the American Arts & Crafts movement with the introduction of "Silex" brand coffee makers, based on models developed by Massachusetts housewives Ann Bridges and Mrs. Sutton. Their use of Pyrex solved the problem of fragility and breakability that had made this type of machine commercially unattractive. During the 1930s, simple, clean forms, increasingly of metal, attracted positive attention from industrial designers heavily influenced by the functionalist imperative of the Bauhaus and Streamlinemovements. It was at this time that Sunbeam's sleek Coffeemaster vacuum brewer appeared, styled by the famous industrial designer Alfonso Iannelli. The popularity of glass and Pyrex globes temporarily revived during the Second World War, since aluminum, chrome, and other metals used in traditional coffee makers became restricted in availability. • The impact of science and technological advances as a motif in post-war design was eventually felt in the manufacture and marketing of coffee and coffee-makers. Consumer guides emphasized the ability of the device to meet standards of temperature and brewing time, and the ratio of soluble elements between brew and grounds. The industrial chemist Peter Schlumbohm expressed the scientific motif most purely in his "Chemex" coffeemaker, which from its initial marketing in the early 1940s used the authority of science as a sales tool, describing the product as "the Chemist's way of making coffee", and discussing at length the quality of its product in the language of the laboratory: "the funnel of the CHEMEX creates ideal hydrostatic conditions for the unique... Chemex extraction." Schlumbohm's unique brewer, a single Pyrex vessel shaped to hold a proprietary filter cone, resembled nothing more than a piece of laboratory equipment, and surprisingly became popular for a time in the otherwise heavily automated, technology-obsessed 1950s household. • In later years, coffeemakers began to adopt more standardized forms commensurate with a large increase in the scale of production required to meet postwar consumer demand. Plastics and composite materials began to replace metal, particularly with the advent of newer electric drip coffeemakers in the 1970s. During the 1990s, consumer demand for more attractive appliances to complement expensive modern kitchens resulted in a new wave of redesigned coffeemakers in a wider range of available colors and styles. • Illy’s singular, signature blend is a rich symphony of nine pure, sustainably grown Arabica beans from four continents.

Derived from the coffee plant, coffee beans can easily be transformed into flavoursome roasts, blends, espressos and other gourmet drinks.
Legend has it that coffee was first discovered in the 9th century by an Arabian shepherd who found his goats dancing around a dark green leafed plant with bright red cherries. Once the shepherd realised that it was the cherries that were causing his goats reaction, he tried the berries himself before telling a nearby monastery of his discovery. The monks then found the plant and brewed the cherries in boiling water to drink. Our disire and a passion to bring all values of coffee to people and  hope to help protect our green planet from the global warming with people around the world, in the beginning 2000, we had started researching on coffee and its values that means to our life.  After many years of research, we decided to establish Kien Nam Trading Import – Export Co., Ltd. on 2008 to set a foundation for further development in order to make dream come true. in the end of 2009, we have successfully studied and the name COPEN COFFEE was officially born. With our  desire, all of us  want  Copen Coffee will give people a different  look on coffee, and  contribute simultaneously  to create a new better world, a world for community health Here are 5 facts about coffee beans that you may not know:
1. There are two main types of coffee bean used in coffee production; they are the Arabica bean and the Robusta bean. Arabica beans are the most commonly used and preferred flavour, while Robusta beans are more hardy and contain almost double the amount of caffeine.
2. The coffee bean is the seed of the fruit grown on the coffee plant. The seeds are usually picked by hand before being removed from the skin and washed. They are then either left out in the sun to dry or dried by machine before being roasted and brewed to drink.
3. The caffeine in the beans helps to give us a kick start to our day. It also makes us more alert and increases our concentration levels.
4. No coffee is grown in the United States, despite its popularity there. All US coffee beans come from Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
5. The majority of coffee in the world comes from South America. Brazil and Colombia are responsible for some of the finest coffee on the market, which is mainly due to their countries warm climate which is perfect for cultivating large coffee plantations.
Now that you know a little bit more about coffee beans, you may enjoy your next cup of coffee that little bit more. 10 Things You Might Not Know About Caffeine Most of us consume it every day, but how much do we really know about caffeine? The naturally-occurring substance with a bitter taste stimulates the central nervous system, making you feel more alert. In moderate doses, it can actually offer health benefits, including boosts to memory, concentration and mental health. And coffee in particular, a major source of caffeine for Americans, has been associated with a host of body perks, including a possible decreased risk of alzheimer's disease and certain cancers. But in excess amounts, caffeine overuse can trigger a fast heart rate, insomnia, anxiety and restlessness, among other side effects. Abruptly stopping use can lead tosymptoms of withdrawal, including headaches and irritability. Below are 10 lesser-known facts about one of the most common drugs in the world.
Decaf isn't the same as caffeine free. Think switching to decaf in the afternoon means you aren't getting any of the stimulant? Think again. One Journal of Analytical Toxicology report looked at nine different types of decaffeinated coffee and determined that all but one contained caffeine. The dose ranged from 8.6 mg to 13.9 mg. (A generic brewed cup of regular coffee typically contains between 95 and 200 mg, as a point of comparison. A 12-ounce can of Coke contains between 30 and 35 mg, according to the Mayo Clinic.)
"If someone drinks five to 10 cups of decaffeinated coffee, the dose of caffeine could easily reach the level present in a cup or two of caffeinated coffee," study co-author Bruce Goldberger, Ph.D., a professor and director of UF's William R. Maples Center for Forensic Medicine, said in a statement when the study was released. "This could be a concern for people who are advised to cut their caffeine intake, such as those with kidney disease or anxiety disorders."
A 2007 Consumer Reports analysis looked at 36 cups of decaffeinated coffee and found that some contained more than 20 mg, Health.com reported. According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, it takes about 30 to 60 minutes for caffeine to reach its peak level in the blood (one study found increased alertness can begin in as few as 10 minutes). The body typically eliminates half of the drug in three to five hours, and the remainder can linger for eight to 14 hours. Some people, particularly those who don't regularly consume caffeine, are more sensitive to the effects than others. Sleep experts often recommend abstaining from caffeine at least eight hours before bedtime to avoid wakefulness at night. The body might process caffeine differently based on gender, race and even birth control use. New York magazine previously reported: Women generally metabolize caffeine faster than men. Smokers process it twice as quickly as nonsmokers do. Women taking birth-control pills metabolize it at perhaps one-third the rate that women not on the Pill do. Asians may do so more slowly than people of other races. In The World of Caffeine: The Science and Culture of the World’s Most Popular Drug, authors Bennett Alan Weinberg and Bonnie K. Bealer hypothesize that a nonsmoking Japanese man drinking his coffee with an alcoholic beverage -- another slowing agent -- would likely feel caffeinated “about five times longer than an Englishwoman who smoked cigarettes but did not drink or use oral contraceptives.” A strong, rich flavor might seem to indicate an extra dose of caffeine, but the truth is that light roasts actually pack more of a jolt than dark roasts. The process of roasting burns off caffeine, NPR reported, meaning those looking for a less intense buzz might want to opt for the dark roast java at the coffee shop.
By definition, one might reasonably think that energy drinks would pack loads of caffeine. But many popular brands actually contain considerably less than an old-fashioned cup of black coffee. An 8.4-ounce serving of Red Bull, for instance, has a relatively modest 76 to 80 mg of caffeine, compared to the 95 to 200 mg in a typical cup of coffee, the Mayo Clinic reports. What many energy drink brands frequently do have, though, is tons of sugar and hard-to-pronounce ingredients (check out our video report on the subject here). And for more on how much caffeine is in tea, soft drinks and other products. It's not just coffee beans: tea leaves, kola nuts (which flavor colas) and cocoa beans all contain caffeine. The stimulant is found naturally in the leaves, seeds and fruits of a wide variety of plants. It can also be manmade and added to products. When if comes to caffeine, all coffees are not created equal. According to a recent report from the Center for Science in the Public Interest, popular brands varied widely when it comes to the jolt they provided. McDonald's, for instance, had 9.1 mg per fluid ounce, while Starbucks packed more than double that at a full 20.6 milligrams. According to the FDA, 80 percent of U.S. adults consume caffeine each day, with an individual intake of 200 mg. To put that in real world terms, the average caffeine-consuming American drinks two five-ounce cups of coffee or about four sodas. While another estimate puts the total closer to 300 mg, both numbers fall within the definition of moderate caffeine consumption, which is between 200 and 300 mg,according to the Mayo Clinic. Daily doses higher than 500 to 600 mg daily are considered heavy, and may cause problems such as insomnia, irritability and a fast heartbeat, among others. According to a recent BBC article, Finland takes the crown for the country with the highest caffeine consumption, with the average adult downing 400 mg each day. Worldwide, 90 percent of people use caffeine in some form, the FDA says. According to one FDA report, more than 98 percent of our caffeine intake comes from beverages. But those aren't the only sources of caffeine: certain foods, such as chocolate (though not much: a one-ounce milk chocolate bar contains only about 5 mg of caffeine), and medications can also contain caffeine. Combining a pain reliever with caffeine can make it 40 percent more effective, the Cleveland Clinic reports, and can also help the body to absorb the medication more quickly.
Coffee is more than popular: it's ubiquitous. No other beverage is as revered or respected. It can be seen in offices, during commutes, and on kitchen counter tops worldwide.
Coffee exporting alone is a $20 billion dollar industry, mostly consumed by industrialized nations while being produced by the world's underclass. It's so beloved today, you would never know drinking coffee once carried the death penalty. After crude oil, coffee is the most sought commodity in the world There's no shame in coming in second place to oil. Coffee is worth over $100 billion worldwide.
That puts it ahead of commodities like natural gas, gold, brent oil, sugar and corn. Despite the different flavors and varieties, there are really only two types of coffee Arabica and robusta are the two main commercially grown and sold coffee beans. Arabica is the more common type of bean grown (70 percent of coffee is Arabica), and it's considered more flavorful. Robusta is hardier and cheaper, most commonly seen in instant coffee jars. Don’t Look
Destiel AU, witch!Dean. Enjoy!
“You must not look at witches” his aunt told him when he was little and they had to visit the witch of the village for a cold medicine. “People say they take the hearts of those who do.”
Castiel didn’t know how the old woman they saw was supposed to take his heart, but he was looking on the floor anyway.
Everyone knew the witch of the village.
That said, no one really talked to him – the young man who happened to be their witch, that was, unless they had a problem and figured magic alone could fix it.
Still, everyone knew Dean Winchester.
Castiel supposed he was just... difficult to ignore. With those green eyes, his easy smile, his readiness to help...
He always tried to think of something else when he noticed he was... a little too interested in the witch. Witches were meant to be ignored until you had need of their services, and even then he shouldn’t have been looking at him. Not really.
But last winter, when old Higgins had been so ill, and no one had dared go to the small clearing in the woods where the witch lived...
Castiel was sweating by the time he reached the witch’s hut, even though it was snowing. But he had never been near the witch’s place since he had arrived two years ago.
Every village had a witch. It was just a fact of life. And everyone knew that if one passed on, there would be another to take their place soon enough. So it had been with Dean Winchester.
Of course rumours had started flying around almost immediately, how he had a pact with the Darkness; how his best and only friend was a demon; how he flew around their village on full moon nights, looking for those who dared leave their houses.
Castiel had never believed the stories, but here alone in the dark it was tempting to turn around. Old Higgings would understand, and if it was his time to –
No. He wouldn’t let him down.
Castiel took a deep breath and walked up to the hut. He knocked.
Almost immediately, the door flew open. “Come in and know me better, man!” a cheerful voice called out.
He hesitantly entered.
At first, he thought the bearded man sitting at the table and sipping on a glass of something that was probably a pretty strong liquor was the witch, but then he grinned and his eyes flashed red.
Castiel took a step back, contemplating running away, but he only managed to walk into a broad, warm chest. “Don’t worry about Crowley” a warm voice said, “I summoned him accidentally a few years back and since then he shows up when he wants to, but he never does any harm.”
“That you know of” the demon pointed out.
“good enough for me.”
And then Castiel made the mistake of looking right into the witch’s face, even though he’d been warned all his life not to do so.
And it was the most handsome face he had ever beheld.
Green eyes sparkled as the young man asked, “What can I do for you?”
“It’s old Higgins – he’s very ill and –“
His face fell. “Jeremiah and his lungs again, hm? Let me just quickly mix a few herbs together...”
Castiel wasn’t sure if he was more shocked that the witch knew immediately what was wrong with old Higgins, proving that he’d been to see him before, or at the use of his first name. He hadn’t even known what he was called.
“You’re way too nice to them” Crowley drawled. “if I was in your place –“
“But you are not, your Highness, so let me do my job.”
Crowley just shrugged, and Castiel couldn’t help but stare at him. Weren’t demons supposed to tempt them who summoned them (albeit accidentally) until they gave in?
“He likes to play at being evil, but the second I’d give in, he’d get another assignment, and that’s the last thing he wants. Here, he gets to drink the good stuff and hang out with yours truly.”
The witch winked at him and Castiel blushed.
After a few minutes, he was done. “There. That should do the trick. Three drops three times a day.”
“Thank you.”
Dean nodded. “Oh, and –“ he pulled another small herb out of a bunch he’d hung over the fireplace and breathed a spell on it; then he pinned it to Castiel’s lapel. “You won’t feel the cold now.”
“Thank you” he managed to say as Dean grinned at him.
“If you ever see an owl, and it looks like it’s waiting for news, that’s one of my messengers. Just put a little note on its leg to let me know how Jeremiah’s doing.”
Castiel had no idea what an owl waiting for news looked like, but he still nodded.
He doubted that he would have felt anything, with or without the herb; his heart beat wildly all the way back home.
Old Higgins soon grew well again, and true to Dean’s words, two weeks after his visit to the witch, Castiel went into his bedroom to find an owl waiting on his windowsill.
Waiting for news.
It waited patiently as Castiel wrote the note, even held its leg out so he could attach it, then hooted and flew away.
He didn’t expect an answer, but the owl still returned. The answering note was short.
Thanks, Cas. Glad to hear it. Dean.
No one had ever called him Cas before.
Ever since then, the witch hadn’t left his thoughts. They hadn’t spoken again, but he’d seen him in the forest now and then, gathering herbs; and he was even sure that he had seen Crowley a d times out of the corner of his eye.
It wasn’t long before Castiel realized he must have bewitched him. Why else would he dream of green eyes and gentle hands fixing a herb onto his suit?
Thankfully, he knew what to do.
Walpurgis Night. The night of the Witches.
And the night on which no witch may deny a request, according to legend. Not that anyone had yet found out if it was true; people stayed indoors on that night for a good reason.
But Castiel had no choice. He couldn’t allow himself to dream his life away thinking of a witch.
And so he snuck out on Walpurgis Night.
Only to be immediately hailed by old Higgins. “Castiel! While you’re at it, could you give Dean this? I know rosemary’s difficult to find in these parts.”
He pocketed the herb, wondering when they had become such good friends; he hadn’t taken more than a few steps away from Higgins’ house before Ellen called to him, “Bring that boy this pie from me, will you? He loves pecan.”
At the end, he was carrying presents from almost every villager into the forest, wondering if they all knew they were friends with the witch, or if they kept it a secret.
Walpurgis Night meant that Dean would be aside, completing old rituals that were supposed to honour magic and nature and their connection, and so he didn’t go to the witch’s hunt and instead walked up to the small hill near the village.
Suddenly, something moved behind him and he reeled around.
Crowley smirked. “When you’re that easily scared... Dean picked a fine one.”
So he had been hexed. He swallowed.
Crowley shook his head. “You humans are so gullible, do you really think... you know what, it’s not my problem. You talk this over between yourself.”
He vanished and reappeared right in front of Castiel, his eyes red,. “Just know that if you break his heart... I’ll be the one to tear yours out.”
“I thought he’d be easier to tempt once his heart was broken” Castiel replied, even though he had no idea how he found the courage.
Crowley threw his head back and laughed. “You should really listen to him more closely. What is there for me in Hell but fire and eternal damnation? This is fun.”
He vanished for good. Castiel continued on his journey.
Dean was indeed on the hill, making sparks fly into the air from a fire he’d lit while chanting in a language he didn’t recognize. He had no idea how to proceed. Was there a protocol for interacting with witches on Walpurgis Night?
“Hey Castiel!” Dean called out, waving; and he had no choice but to approach him, the gifts from the villagers in his hands.
“Are those for me?” Dean beamed. “Awesome! Oh, Ellen backed a pie, and Jeremiah got me rosemary, and Bobby –“
“Dean” he interrupted him, baffled, “Are you friends with all of them?”
“Of course. They don’t know about each other, of course; all those stupid stories about not coming near witches if you want to keep your heart bla bla bla. Well, except for Jeremiah, he tells everyone, but he’s old enough that most of you don’t pay attention to what he’s saying anyway.”
“I – I –“ Castile stuttered before swallowing.
“Yes?”
“I have come to ask – there is – I want to –“
“You have a request?” Dean’s grin turned almost wolfish. “Let’s see if I can fulfil iut.”
So he didn’t have to? Castiel pressed on. “I want you to dissolve the love spell you’ve put on me.”
“What the – why would you think I would hex you?” Dean took a few steps back, clearly hurt; and he realized it actually made him feel bad.
“I –“
“It’s always the same” Dean said bitterly. “Just because I am a witch I don’t get trusted. No, I have to earn it time and time again, no matter where I go. You saw me make the medicine for Jeremiah and it worked! What about that screams “evil witch who puts spell on people because he can”?”
“I – I didn’t think –“
“No” he interrupted him. “most never do. Funny thing is, UI thought I had found a good place here. I thought over time I might even be able to move into the village – just live my life. But no – even the cutest of them all doesn’t think I’m – what are those, then? Are they scared? Do they think presents will placate me?”
“Dean, please” he said helplessly. “I – I shouldn’t have judged you. But I have never wanted someone like this before, and I didn’t realize –“
He stopped abruptly when he realized what he was saying.
Dean studied him, then smiled again. “You said love spell.”
“Well, I –“
Dean stepped up to him. “So you haven’t been able to get me off your mind either?”
Either?
He nodded.
“In that case, maybe I could forgive you” Dean declared, “but that will come at a price?”
“What price?” he breathed.
“A kiss?”
He could only nod.
Dean eventually moved into the village – into Cas’ house. Occasionally, strangers would wonder why the other allowed a witch to live among them (not to mention how they managed to look at him every single day) but Dean simply laughed in their faces.
Cas learned how to distinguish the herbs and plants for Dean’s potions; he learned how to talk to animals so they now and then do you small favours; he learned that a demon could be a pest if he wanted to, but also a surprisingly good friend.
He learned what it felt like to be happy.
Dean, meanwhile, learned what it was like, being part of a community after having lived in its shadows for so long.
They both learned what it felt like waking up next to the love of one’s life.
A while after they moved in, a few words appeared over their door. They highly suspected Crowley of burning them into the wood, although he naturally denied it.
The words where there for all too read for years to come.
You must not look at witches, for they will take your heart and keep it well.

teacher!woozi
Tumblr media
he looks so hot in that gif i cry plus this is the first time i’ve ever done something like this please don’t hate me i can’t write fduvobfiu pls
okay let’s begin
so Jihoon is the talk of the town- well school- as everyone is getting into the new school year
“did u hear about the new choir teacher ???? i heard that his old students called him the spawn of satan”
“spawn of satan??? i think that’s a bit much.”
oM G it’ S hI m R u N
okay okay i’ll stop
he’s the new choir, music theory and piano teacher. the dudeo is a little music prodigy.
he transferred from a school across town bc he was tired of being in the same place for so long, plus his friends worked here too!!
literature teacher wonu, orchestra teacher joshua, and intro to dance teacher soonyoung recommended Jihoon to the principal and with his track record he was s E T
so, first day of school when the students piled into his, not decorated at all, choir room they were sh 0o k.
“is he the TA?” “why he is so smol???” “are you sure that’s a teacher??” “jENNI F E R shU T uP thAT i S toTal LY a StudEn T” “we’re in women’s choir right now kim.”
he greets the class, somewhat coldly “i’m your new teacher. okay let’s get started with warm ups”
everyone does not take him seriously, bc literally it’s a bunch of immature high schoolers who would take someone so smol and adorable very seriously then one day------ mr. lee (jihoon) had eNOU GH
“Mr. Lee where are our chairs?” “ *smiles* until you guys give me the respect, i have taken your chairs away. now warms up-” yes. he does this to every class, even his piano students and they are c r y i n g
after a good week, they respect him. they fear him, he made a student cry (accidentally) by making the entire choir stop singing to talk about how being off tune will bring down the entire score at competition (he wasn’t even singling the person out)
“okay, competition is in 3 weeks today guys. i know it’s difficult but we’ve gone over this part so many times now, so whoever is off tune please realize your mistakes and fix that so we don’t get points taken off for something so simple fixed.” *kim runs out of the room crying* “jennifer please go take care of that”
somehow from then to the end of the school year no one ever sings a cent off tune ever again
so! how do you get into this mess ? M U S IC AL SE A SON B E GINS
you, the also new and surprisingly loved advanced acting teacher, is casting the school year’s musical alongside V E RY loved dance teacher mr. kwon
auditions didn’t go as well as you were planning, the acting was amazing as you expected from your students so was the dancing... but the vocal talent was l a ck ing. so who do you go to ? obviously!! you don’t go anywhere because you were terrified of going to talk to jihoon who you had a crush on since the first day of teacher camp over the summer wait what hu H
soonyoung was like “we need to do something about this y/n, why don’t we ask jihoon? we could talk to him, i’ve been friends since high school”
your heart does a leap in your chest, we talk? ! ? but you wanted to win the high school musical competition (you’ve done it multiple years in a row at your old school, you were determined to do it here as well)
so push comes to shove, you were in the bare choir room that was empty aside from the classical music playing through a speaker somewhere in the room
you took a deep breath in and knocked on the door frame, since the door was open but he had his back turned towards you. once he heard your knock the (tenth) third time, he spun around in his spinny chair and almost fell out bc did an angel just walk into the room omg
“yes?”
“you’re jihoon right? uh soonyoung sent me bc we need help with the musical”
“tell soonyoung to go fu- you said we?”
“yeah, i’m directing and he’s choreographing and w e need help with the vocals, our actors aren’t up to par of where we need them.”
usually jihoon would tell the person to go away, bc he isn’t some charity to give help to whoever asks, but for some reason he !! just !! couldn’t !! say !! no !! to !! you !! (curse you soonyoung for sending a literal angel his way) so as he was trying to say he had no time to- somehow a yeah sure when do you want me to train them came out of his mouth.
and that’s how a friendship between you two blossomed ( even tho you two strictly told your friends and students who were super nosy that it was just a friendship everyone is like ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) “sure miss. y/l/n. sure it is”
and it was !!! for the most part bc you two could not come to terms with each of your own feelings
then when tech week came you were S T R E S S E D bc
 1. 3/4 of your techies were very very very new to all of this and currently is being taught by one of the old techies who considered quitting during this week
2. one of your leads has the flu and spread it to his co-actress (so it’s flu central)
3. THE ENSEMBLE DID NOT KNOW ANY OF THEIR LINES AND WHY DO THEY LOOK SO DEAD ON STAGE PLS LIVEN UP CHILDREN IM CRYIN g
so you cancel rehearsal on your end (soonyoung actually asks for everyone to stay to have a chat with them) and run to jihoon’s office with tears running down your face
he sadly was out of the room to make some copies of the music, but when he returned he was !!!!!!!!!
“y/n omg what happened? are you okay???”
“i want to quit my job.” you cried due to stress. you loved your job, you didnt want to quit it was just so many things were happening at once and you wanted to crawl into a hole and cry
“n O !” “i mean.. you shouldn’t, i know this week is the hardest week for directors. mingyu tells me about it all the time with his kids over at *insert another high school* you’re strong y/n!!! you can do this!!!” he even did aegyo for you and it did help cheer you up
and you did get through this with multiple hugs from jihoon and soonyoung talking to the kids and telling them to have fun, bc they obviously were just doing this at this point as a routine
and it worked. it totally worked and the show was a H I T. it was such a hit the show had a nomination in every category from best overall to best ensemble to best small prop in the corner during act 2 scene 5.
and when you saw the nomination list, you ran down the hall from the auditorium to jihoon’s classroom (who he was currently scolding women’s choir for being distracted) (they were totally talkign about how he looks at you while you two were speaking in the hallway)
*BOOM* you slam the door open and he instantly lightens up and smiles (spawn of satan jihoon exits the room) !!!
“ W e  GOT A NOMINATION IN EVERY CATEGORY THANKS TO YOU JIHOONNNNIEEEEEE”
“did miss. y/l/n call mr. lee ‘jihoonie’ ?”
he’s ecstatic to see you so happy which causes very ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) faces throughout the choir
the night of the award ceremony comes, there are over 500 people in that orpheum theatre all hoping that they win some award of some sort.
you were just sitting with jihoon and soonyoung trying to stay calm, you even already pick your representatives within the cast to go get the awards to save looking like a fool trying to find a rep last minute.
then it came to the moment everyone was waiting for, your show had won most of the awards of the night already but there was one category you wanted the most to set the night, best small prop in the corner during act 2 scene 5 overall musical.
you were so nervous, but soonyoung gave you that look that L O O K that you both knew what it meant (we won)
and the look was right, you did. “from Serenity Rose High School, *insert a good musical bc im too tired to name one* wins best overall for this years High School Musical Awards!”
you were jumping, you were screaming and crying and suddenly your lips were connected with jihoon’s
it was such a good kiss, it probably could’ve won best kiss tbh
jihoon is in shock, soonyoung was in shock, your entire cast was in shock they almost forgot to send little jenny to go get the award, and then after a minute you were in s h o c k.
you were kissing jihoon, you were kissing jihoon Y O U w E R e Ki S i N G Ji hOo N. you pull away so quickly, but your hands were still cupping his face.
“i.. uh.” you were beet red, your cheeks were getting hot and you couldn’t remove your hands from his face they were like stuck.
he was also blushing, and trying his best not to smile super widely.
“ihavelikedyousinceteachercampinjulyireallyhopethiswasntawkwardeventhoughiknowitwasimsosorryforkissingyououtofthebluebutomgdidiactuallyjustkissyou”
“what?”
“jihoon, you adorable spawn of satan, i have liked you since the beginning of the school year like a little school girl and i just kissed you because yes, i like you. god im such a hIg H scHOo L ER!”
“y/n y/n y/n, i very much like you too”
“t h a n k g O D”
dating jihoon would be sweet and cute and adored by the entire fine arts department (teachers and students included)
you would always be in his classroom during your off periods, just chilling while you watch him teach his class. everyone would be screaming o TP in their heads whenever a subtle cute interaction between you two would happen
“y/n we shouldn’t do this in front of the students.”
“they’re at lunch what could possibly happen if you kicked all of them out, just kiss me already!!!”
right when you two were just centimeters apart, “mr. lee i needed to ask you if- ..oh.. o  H” “KIM SERIOUSLY I TOLD ALL OF YOU TO GO TO LUNCH”
dates would include late night adventures to downtown or somewhere far, far away from the school. you would even go to see a show at the theatre bc after dating you, he got very interested into the performing arts.
even though jihoon wouldn’t be very into pda, he’d do it when it was only you two alone (very alone no students, no teachers, no one just you and him)
he’d always be there when you are stressed and he’d provide hugs and soft singing to calm you down, and you would always be there for him bc he sometimes needs to be reminded of the time so he can leave the school at a reasonable time like JIHOON OMG IT’S 9PM WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?!!?
“i just wanted to pick out new music for next semester”
“J i HOo N!”
but yes, that is teacher!woozi / teacher!jihoon
i’m terrible at this omg this was so long why is it so long thx for reading all of this if you did. i wrote this at like 2am don’t hate me if this was badly spelt or grammar is terrible too. i hope u liked it, this is what i believe teacher jihoon would be (somewhat inspired by my satan-like choir teacher) but yes, i might do more of these aus someday, if you have any ideas pls hit me up in my inbox! :D
oki bye
