See No Dumbass, Hear No Dumbass (Bob Floyd x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: You guys thought it would be a good idea to take Bob's sister, Aly, to The Hard Deck for some much needed downtime, but you guys learn very quickly on she has neither the time nor the patience for dumbasses
Tagging: @sallyandjack Hailee my love, I apologize that this is so overdue but I hope you'll enjoy it either way. Have a very, very happy New Year my friend
The Hard Deck was starting to get crowded with everyone starting to come in for the New Year's Day celebrations. New Year's Eve had been no less of an eventful night with you and Bob practically making out once the clock had struck midnight.
"Good God I need a drink," his sister Aly signed from the backseat of the truck.
"You want a Dirty Pirate when we get there?" Bob asked her.
"Literally anything at this point," Aly replied with a laugh.
You laughed as you watched them banter back and forth. Thank God both you and Bob had taken up ASL when you did. Aly had been one of the best teachers you could have asked for and it had especially served you well seeing as you had a hard-of-hearing first grader enter your class in the lower grades at the local Steiner school you taught at.
"Thank God it's not as crazy as last night," you sighed, pulling Bob's truck into the parking lot space close to the building. "I thought I was gonna scream trying to get outta here."
"Almost everybody at this point has a hangover sweetheart," Bob chuckled as he helped you and his sister out.
Into the bar you went with all its familiar sights, sounds and smells of drinks being made, food being served and raucous chatter and laughter filling the whole place. To you and Bob, The Hard Deck felt like your Hogwarts or your Camp Half Blood with your best memories having been made right here with all your friends and family.
"Oh look who it is!" Penny greeted excitedly. "Two siblings in khaki and one of the best teachers ever!"
You had to laugh as you, Bob and his sister seated yourselves at the bar. "What'll it be guys?" Penny asked.
"Devil's Purse if you don't mind," Bob answered politely.
"Do you still have that grapefruit and vodka mix from last night?" you asked.
"Absolutely," Penny answered. "And for the other pilot?"
"Dirty Pirate if you can," Aly signed.
"You got it honey," Penny answered.
As soon as Penny had gotten your drinks, she slid the laminated menus your way before the rest of the squad made their way in. All around it was huge hugs and excited remarks as the rest of the Daggers took their seats close by you both.
"Oh my Lord if it ain't Baby On Board's sister!" Jake signed to Aly.
"Hey you're getting better at this, dumbass," she replied with a laugh.
"Stop," Jake insisted.
Everybody joked back and forth about the goings on in their lives, their hopes and aspirations for the new year and of course about upcoming vacation plans.
"Hey, hey honey?" somebody asked. "Can you move? You're in my spot."
Aly gave her a confused look, crunching her eyebrows together.
"The hell's the matter with you?" the girl asked again.
"Well, if it didn't occur to you, Regina George," Jake answered, his words dripping with sarcasm. "She's deaf."
"I wasn't talking to you asshole," the girl informed him, nastily.
"Can I help you bitch?" Aly asked her.
"I'm sorry what?"
"She said, 'can I help you bitch?'" Jake laughed.
"Excuse me?!"
"You fuckin heard me!" Aly shot right back.
The whole bar went a little quiet as Aly and the aptly named "Regina George" in front of her, went at it with Jake translating the insults on Aly's behalf.
"Oh shit," Penny hissed.
"I hope we don't have to break up a fight," you said, wincing.
"Three.......two.......one......." Bob counted down.
One last insult from the dumb bitch down in front had been the last straw for Aly, the two of them lunging at each other and falling straight to the floor near the bar. People jumped back when they went at it, the fight so intense that you and Bob thought you could hear a pair of cats meowing angrily.
"Get her!"
"Get her Aly!"
"Beat the shit outta her Aly!"
There was a collective "OOOOH!" throughout the bar when a shoe went flying halfway around the room. And it was only then that Penny had signaled for Jake, Bob and Rooster to break it up. Aly willingly took her place back at the bar and fixed her hair, but the bitch that had insulted her, ran out with the two lackeys she had come in with, looking like an utter mess.
"Sorry about the fight Penny," Aly apologized.
"Nah honey, it's all good," Penny responded. "Not the worst I've ever seen."
You, Bob and the others all went back to your dinner and drinks, both proud and scared shitless of your sister-in-law.

The beer was cool against Eugene’s lips as he raised the bottle, taking a long swig of the golden liquid. He watched the scene unfolding in front of him, as George Luz tried hopelessly to flirt with the poor barmaid who wasn’t the slightest bit interested. He’d been at it for the best part of an hour but he still hadn’t given up hope. Eugene and Babe Heffron gave up trying to help him, wanting to preserve what little dignity George still had left as the barmaid landed another wounding blow to his ego and resigned to a game of darts with Buck Compton and Joe Toye.
“The winner gets two packs of smokes?” Joe asked, twirling the dart delicately between his fingers, a smirk on his face.
“You’re on,” Babe replied, dragging Eugene with him who followed reluctantly, downing the rest of his beer before taking the darts from his friend and lining himself up with the board. “Go on Gene, show 'em what ya got.” Babe cheered, clapping his hands enthusiastically and causing a red tint to spread across Eugene’s cheeks. He threw the first two darts with ease, not letting the noise of the bar or the jeering from his comrades distract him. Before he threw the third dart, the door swung open letting in the cool evening breeze and sending a shiver down Eugene’s spine, a pleasant relief from the sticky sweat beneath his class A uniform. His dark eyes moved to the door where they met those of a certain female medic who was smiling jovially and waving at a group of his fellow Easy Company men. Eugene gulped, averting his eyes back to the darts board when he felt a hand appear on his shoulder. “Do I notice a blush on those cheeks, Eugene?” Buck whispered into his ear, causing Gene to duck away from him.
“No…got nothin’ to blush about…just warm in here,” Eugene tugged at the collar of his uniform, emphasising how warm he was.
“Sure thing, Doc,” Buck smirked at him as Eugene took his last turn before handing the darts off to Joe.
“Buck’s right you know,” Babe chimed in, following Eugene as he retreated to the bar. “You’ve just gotta talk to her, she’s a nice gal and if the way she’s been looking over here all night I reckon she feels the same way.”
Eugene leant forward, coughing frantically on the sip of beer he’d just taken.
“Christ Gene, don’t die on me,” Babe laughed, slapping the medics back playfully. Eugene gave Babe a stern glare causing the young paratrooper to put his hands up in mock surrender. “Just think about it.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As the evening drew on, Eugene found his senses dwindling from the alcohol he’d consumed. He’d somehow been drawn into a drinking game with Chuck and Floyd and could feel his brain begin to falter as he fumbled his way through the bar to a seat in the corner. Eugene's mind was swaying aimlessly when a familiar figure sat down beside him, equally wobbly from their alcohol intoxication.
“Hey Genie,” she blushed, running her hand through his dark locks causing him to freeze. “How’re you doing?” She mumbled, slumping down beside him.
“I… ’m okay… good…you?” Eugene gulped, glancing at Y/n as she grinned.
“I’m good but I’m even better now I’m here with you,” she grabbed ahold of his hands. “Do you want to get some air, it’s a little stuffy in here.” She bit her lip and batted her lashes. Eugene gulped again.
“Yeah, course…I’d…love to.”
Y/n grabbed hold of his hand, leading him between the crowds of paratroopers to the door, a few whistles and shouts of ‘go get her Gene’ followed them.
The cool air brushed Eugene’s face, bringing some relief from the stifling heat of the bar. Taking a deep breath and watching as the air left his lungs in a small puff into the night, he began to feel some relief.
“Eugene, I need to tell you something. I’ve wanted to tell you for a while and now that we’re going back into combat I need to tell you before it’s too late and I don’t get the chance,” Y/n rambled, reeling off the sentences in one breath without turning to face him. Eugene moved slowly, fearful of frightening the panicked woman who stood before him. They were facing each other but Y/n wouldn’t meet his eyes. “Y/n?” He squeezed her hands lightly causing her to look up, his eyes pleading with her.
“You don’t feel the same do you?” She asked, her bottom lip began to quiver and her eyes watery. The image broke Eugene’s heart and he quickly stepped forward pulling the young woman into his chest. Her shoulders shook a little and he rushed to comfort her. “Shhh mon amour, please don’tcha think that,” Eugene begged, pressing his lips firmly to her hairline in a desperate attempt to bring her some comfort.
“I have loved ya since I laid eyes on you, ain’t ya the most beautiful, strong and brave woman I ever seen,” this time it was Eugene’s turn to ramble. “I was just too afraid in case ya didn’t feel the same.”
Y/n looked up a little shell shocked from his confession. She’d never heard the Cajun man speak so plainly or so much that she wasn’t sure how to reply, instead she grabbed hold of his collar, pushing her lips to his. Eugene let out a small yelp of protest before he too cercumed to the kiss, winding his arms around her waist and holding her firmly against him.
When they pulled apart Y/n was smiling widely, “Do you maybe want to walk me to my billet?” She bit her lip, watching as the cogs of Eugene’s mind turned frantically.
“Y…yes,” he finally stuttered, taking hold of her arm and they began the short journey to the house where Y/n was staying.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“We shouldn't be doin’ this,” Eugene groaned as she began placing hot, open-mouth kisses along his jugular, nipping at the sensitive flesh. “Y/n.” His hands gripped ahold of her hips, stopping any movement and causing Y/n to look up, her eyebrows furrowed as she watched him worriedly. Had she overstepped the line? Did he not want her? It had been pretty clear how he was feeling when he’d carried her up the stairs, stripping her of her clothes as they went. Y/n swiftly climbed off his lap, stepping away from him and straightening the nonexistent creases in her uniform shirt. “I'm sorry… Gene, I'm so sorry… I didn’t,” she began digressing, unable to meet his eyes as her lips ran wild, words tumbling from them at an embarrassingly rapid rate.
Eugene stood quickly, stepping over towards her and grasping hold of her hands, bringing them up to his lips and silencing her ramblings.
“It ain’t that at all, ma chérie, of course, I want ya. I've wanted ya for so long but I needa make sure ya want this too. I need to know how far ya wanna go with this because honestly,” he paused, rubbing his hand over the back of his neck awkwardly. “I don’t think I'll be able to stop myself once we’ve started. God, I'm weak.” Eugene slumped back down on the bed, running his hand over his face with a low groan, “It’s just that I’ve never felt this way before and I know it's wrong and we shouldn’t but I…” Gene was silenced by Y/n’s lips pressing firmly to his, her hand winding around his neck and into his hair as his hands came to rest upon her hips.
“I want this, Gene,” she breathed, her breath fanning over the sensitive skin of his neck. “I want you.”
It was as if a switch flicked in Eugene’s mind because the next thing Y/n knew she was pinned beneath him, his strong arms resting on either side of her head, his mouth sucking deep bruises on her abdomen and his hands trailing down her sides, stroking her hips lovingly.
“Gene,” she gasped as he grazed his teeth along the skin of her lower abdomen. “God, yes Gene. Yes!” Eugene’s hands worked quickly, slipping her underwear down her legs and discarding them across the room, placing small kisses on her thighs.
Eugene couldn’t believe his luck when he looked up at Y/n, the woman he’d been in love with since Toccoa was here, beneath him, letting him make love to her. The smell of her hair, the soft moans that left her perfect mouth, and her salty, sweaty skin beneath his lips drove him wild. His lips worked quickly, lapping and kissing between her thighs until she was a moaning mess, hands fisted into the bedsheets, back arching off the bed.
“Eugene, please,” Y/n all but cried, fisting her hands into his dark locks, tugging him upwards to kiss him. Eugene’s lips curled up into a smirk, his dark eyes shining. “Please Gene, I need you.” She begged, pulling him flush against her body and fiddling at the buckle of his trousers desperately.
“Someone’s needy, ain’t ya Darlin’,” Gene asked, smoothing down the loose hairs from around her face. Y/n managed to slip her hand down into his underwear, fingers grazing against his hard cock, pulling it free from his trousers. Eugene let out a shaky breath, his hands stabilising himself against the headboard.
“God preserve me,” he muttered through gritted teeth as Y/n ran her thumb over his red tip. Y/n smiled up at him, running her other hand softly over his cheek.
“I love you, Eugene.”
“I love to too, Ma Chérie.” He sealed his lips to hers, stealing the air from her lungs. Gene’s hands shook with anticipation as he dragged the head of his cock up and down your sex agonisingly slow. Eugene let out a choked sound as he sunk into her, both of them reeling at the feeling of fullness. Y/n’s hands gripping tightly to his shoulders, leaving deep red marks on his pale flesh.
“You’re so tight,” he grunted, pulling back slightly before rocking himself forward. Y/n groaned, squeezing her pelvic muscles as Eugene bit back a pained whimper escaping from his plump lips.
Y/n chuckled slightly and did it again, his grip tightening on her hips and he sent her a warning glare. Eugene’s thrust became more desperate, needier. His hands moved to pin hers above her head, chests impossibly close.
The room was quickly filled with soft moans and needy whines as he brought her to the edge. Y/n’s eyes were closed, too consumed by the pleasure building in her stomach, the knot tightening deep in her abdomen.
“Look at me ma Chérie, I want to see ya. I need ya to look at me.” Eugene pleaded, his voice strained as he too fought his orgasm. As Y/n opened her eyes the band snapped and she was sent spiraling into her ecstasy, hips bucking upwards uncontrollably. Eugene soon followed, cumming with a loud cry as he buried his head into her neck, loud breaths muffled by her flesh.
The couple lay there for a few minutes, both too exhausted to move or speak, too wrapped up in their moment of satisfaction.
“Eugene,” Y/n spoke slowly, carding her fingers through his locks. Eugene let out a small hum in response, tilting his head to look at her. “Thank you.”
“What for, Darlin’?” He asked, propping himself up above her.
“For this. For making me feel this way… for loving me,” she admitted sheepishly. Eugene's normally shy features burst with love, his smile growing wider than ever. “It weren’t difficult ma Chérie. It was real easy to love you and I found it impossible to stop myself from loving ya.” He admitted, a red hue growing across his cheeks causing Y/n to smile too.
“Well, I’m very glad you didn’t stop yourself. I love you.” She caressed his cheek, leaning their foreheads together lovingly. “As do I, ma Chérie.”

Brozone Cah, mexico and party
Clay snickers as he reads the black car he just pulled.
“What did I bring back from Mexico?” Clay says, placing the card down before holding his head in his hands, fully expecting the worst.
“I don’t know Clay, why don’t you ask your Latina girlfriend.” John teases as he slides his white card over to Clay.
Clay rolls his eyes, shooting John a playful scowl.
“No John, that's what he brought back, obviously.” Floyd teases, handing Clay his white card.
Branch snorts while taking a drink, coughing from the beer going down the wrong pipe.
“Alright, I only got three cards. Who hasn’t given me one?” Clay said, his cheeks red and not just from the alcohol.
“Oops, that was me. Here.” Bruce says, giving Clay his white card.
“Alrighty then, what did I bring back from Mexico? Shapeshifters. Checks out with those damn chupacabras. What did I bring back from Mexico? Stephen Hawking talking dirty, gross. Thanks for that image. What did I bring back from Mexico? Racially-biased SAT questions. That’s messed up. What did I bring back from Mexico, for the last time? Farting and walking away. I could do that here, why did I go to Mexico to do that? Who had SAT questions?” Clay asked, holding up the winning card.
“Me.” Floyd said cheekily, taking the black card from Clay.
“Damn, I thought I’d get it with shapeshifters.” John said, jokingly pouting.
“Fuck me. I played the wrong card.” Bruce groaned, holding his face in his hand.
“You played farting and walking away?” Branch giggled
“Yes. it’s fine, don’t worry about it.” Bruce said deflated, taking a sad swig of his wine.
The others giggle while Floyd pulls the next black card.
“What never fails to liven up the party? Usually booze or drugs but let’s see what yall got.” Floyd says, smiling as he flicks the cap off the wine bottle to fill up his cup.
“I-I don’t even wanna know.” JD sighs, shaking his head at what Floyd said.
Floyd wore a cheeky grin while Branch and Clay giggled.
“I think it’s time we cut back on the alcohol boys.” Bruce said sternly, taking the bottle of wine from Floyd.
“Aw, come on dad. Don’t be such a buzzkill.” Floyd whined playfully.
“He’s right, don’t want you waking up hungover bud.” John said, chuckling softly.
“Just give me your goddamn cards.” Floyd pouted.
“Here you go.” John says, passing his and the others cards to Floyd.
“Ok, what never fails to liven up the party? Being rich. Well that certainly will make you the life of the party. What never fails to liven up the party? Spontaneous human combustion. Think that has the opposite effect. What never fails to liven up the party? An M. Night Shyamalan plot twist. Nice. What never fails to liven up the party? Former President George W. Bush. But he’s dead. I liked spontaneous human combustion, that’s the winner.” Floyd said, holding his tongue between his teeth.
“That would be me. Thank you.” Branch declared as he took the black card.
“I had being rich, which you influenced with your talk of drugs and booze.” John Dory chuckled, drawing another white card.
“I had the plot twist.” Bruce says.
“I forgot the president was dead.” Clay mumbled, taking a swig of his beer.
All the brothers giggle, John getting up to get them all some water.

The MAGA GOP firmly believes that violence and violent threats against their fellow Americans is the surest path to power. As David French explains, that's a huge problem. In 2021, Reuters published a horrifying and comprehensive report detailing the persistent threats against local election workers. In 2022, it followed up with another report detailing threats against local school boards. In my own Tennessee community, doctors and nurses who advocated wearing masks in schools were targets of screaming, threatening right-wing activists, who told one man, “We know who you are” and “We will find you.”
My own family has experienced terrifying nights and terrifying days over the last several years. We’ve faced death threats, a bomb scare, a clumsy swatting attempt and doxxing by white nationalists. People have shown up at our home. A man even came to my kids’ school. I’ve interacted with the F.B.I., the Tennessee Department of Homeland Security and local law enforcement. While the explicit threats come and go, the sense of menace never quite leaves. We’re always looking over our shoulders. And no, threats of ideological violence do not come exclusively from the right. We saw too much destruction accompanying the George Floyd protests to believe that. We’ve seen left-wing attacks and threats against Republicans and conservatives. The surge in antisemitic incidents since Oct. 7 is a sobering reminder that hatred lives on the right and the left alike.
But the tsunami of MAGA threats is different. The intimidation is systemic and ubiquitous, an acknowledged tactic in the playbook of the Trump right that flows all the way down from the violent fantasies of Donald Trump himself. It is rare to encounter a public-facing Trump critic who hasn’t faced threats and intimidation. The threats drive decent men and women from public office. They isolate and frighten dissenters. When my family first began to face threats, the most dispiriting responses came from Christian acquaintances who concluded I was a traitor for turning on a movement whose members had expressed an explicit desire to kill my family. But I don’t want to be too bleak. So let me end with a point of light. In the summer of 2021, I received a quite direct threat after I’d written a series of pieces opposing bans on teaching critical race theory in public schools. Someone sent my wife an email threatening to shoot me in the face.
My wife and I knew that it was almost certainly a bluff. But we also knew that white nationalists had our home address, both of us were out of town and the only person home that night was my college-age son. So we called the local sheriff, shared the threat, and asked if the department could send someone to check our house. Minutes later, a young deputy called to tell me all was quiet at our home. When I asked if he would mind checking back frequently, he said he’d stay in front of our house all night. Then he asked, “Why did you get this threat?”
I hesitated before I told him. Our community is so MAGA that I had a pang of concern about his response. “I’m a columnist,” I said, “and we’ve had lots of threats ever since I wrote against Donald Trump.”
The deputy paused for a moment. “I’m a vet,” he said, “and I volunteered to serve because I believe in our Constitution. I believe in free speech.” And then he said words I’ll never forget: “You keep speaking, and I’ll stand guard.”
I didn’t know that deputy’s politics and I didn’t need to. When I heard his words, I thought, that’s it. That’s the way through. Sometimes we are called to speak. Sometimes we are called to stand guard. All the time we can at least comfort those under threat, telling them with words and deeds that they are not alone. If we do that, we can persevere. Otherwise, the fear will be too much for good people to bear.

The door slam loudly, enough to rattle the picture frames that were nailed to the walls. Jake sighed as he opened the door after it was slammed in his face.
The night didn’t start off bad, but it was sure ending on a sour note. What was supposed to be a simple night out with friends, celebrating Rooster’s engagement to his girlfriend, quickly turned badly when Hangman’s ex fling, Morgan, walked into the bar. Bob Floyd was never a jealous man, but he was when it came to Morgan.
Morgan was basically Jake’s girlfriend in everyone’s eyes. They went out, and held hands, and kissed, and slow danced to George Strait, and Hangman even took her home for Christmas last year. Morgan was the girl that everyone saw Jake Thomas Seresin with. She was perfect.
Jake had broke up with Morgan almost half a year ago, he said it was neutral, but Morgan said it was because Jake was head over heels in love with Bob Floyd. Jake said that she was crazy, making shit up but Morgan pointed out what everyone else saw. She saw the way Jake looked at Bob, how his green eyes were always watching the quiet WSO, how he would go to Bob whenever they would fight, how Bob was a constant in Jake's ever changing life.
"What are you doing?" Jake asked, as he walked into their bedroom, seeing Bob angrily throw his clothes into an open suitcase.
"Leaving," Bob muttered.
"Why?" Jake furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, "Is this because of what happened at the Hard Deck? Cause I apologized-"
"It's more than just that!" Bob yelled, and it surprised Jake.
Bob never yelled. Even when they would fight over stupid things, Bob was always the level headed one. That's what made him such a good WSO, such a good partner. Bob was a listener, an observer, always watching every move around him. Bob had been watching, observing the way Jake talked and looked at Morgan tonight. Jake was relaxed, calm, and the second Bob walked up to him, placing his hand on the small of Jake's back, the blonde haired pilot stiffened and shoved Bob's hand away.
"I. . ." Bob opened his mouth and shook his head. His mind was swimming as he tried to gather the right words to say, "I love you, Jake."
Jake felt his heart stop when he heard those three little words slip out of Bob's lips. Those three words that Bob had told him over and over. The first time Bob had said those words was after a fight and make up sex. Bob was holding Jake to his chest, running his fingers through his blonde hair. Ever since then, Bob had always said it: before he leaves in the morning, when they go to bed, before every flight.
"I love you and, I don't think you love me."
"Bob-"
"You told me when I said it, that you just couldn't say it yet, and I understood but now. . . Seeing the way you looked at Morgan, the way you acted around her, touched her. Hell, Jake, you've never even held my hand in public."
"I didn't know you wanted-"
"You didn't know that I wanted my boyfriend to show me the slightest be of affection? To act like he actually likes me? I can't keep doing this," Bob said, his blue eyes were filling with tears.
"Doing what?" Jake felt his throat constrict.
"This," Bob, pointed between the two of them, "I can't keep fighting for an ounce of attention, an ounce of affection, an ounce of love, when you don't feel the same." Bob leaned down, flipping his suitcase closed and zipping it.
"Bob, please," Jake grabbed his boyfriend's hand to stop him from picking up the luggage, "I'll do better, I promise. If you want me to hold your hand, I will. If you want me to kiss you before your flights like Bradley does to Y/N, I will. If you want me-"
"Are you ashamed of me?" Bob, whispered.
"No, baby, no that's not."
"Then why haven't I met your parents? Why did you invite Morgan to go to your sister's wedding and not me?"
"I-" Jake, opened and closed his mouth a couple times and sighed, looking down at his shoes.
Truth was, Jake never told his parents that he broke up with Morgan and started dating Bob. Truth was, Jake never even told his parents that he was bisexual. It wasn't that he was scared, everyone who mattered to him knew that he was out. It was that he was worried about the small town Texas gossip, how his very Christian mother and father would react. He loved his parents, but they were stuck in their ways, and so were most of the people in the small town that Jake grew up. Morgan was the safe bet to take to his sister's wedding, but Bob was the one he really wanted to take.
"I can't keep hurting myself like this, Jake. And I love you too much to let you keep hurting yourself," Bob set his suitcase down off the bed, and walked towards Jake, taking his face in both of his hands, "It'll be okay, I promise."
Jake shook his head, and watched as Bob stepped back, and grabbed his suitcase.
"Bob! No, wait!" Jake said, following the WSO out of the bedroom and down the stairs, "No, you can't do this! Please," Jake was full on crying, tears and snot running down his face, "Do you still love me?"
"More than you will ever know," Bob said, and wiped his eyes. Jake slowly sat down on the stairs, looking at his feet as Bob stood in the entry way of the house.
"We'll be back together," Jake said, and he nodded like he was agreeing with himself, "When you're 40 and I'm 50. You'll see."
Bob's chin quivered as he tried to bite back his tears. Jake looked up at him, his green eyes wet with tears. Bob sighed and walked over to him, taking him in his arms. Jake held onto Bob tightly, like he might disappear and sobbed into his stomach. Bob titled his head up to look at the ceiling, trying to stop the tears from falling down his face.
"I have to go," Bob whispered and removed Jake's arms from around his torso, "You have to let me go."
"Will you please stay?"
"If I don't go now, I'll never leave," Bob, grabbed Jake's face one last time in his hands and placed a soft kiss on his lips. Jake held on to Bob's hands as he stood up and pulled out of his grasp.
"Please," Jake cried, reaching out for him.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," Bob didn't look back as he grabbed his suitcase and walked out the door, letting it slam close.
"I love you."

It's 10 am, my stomach hurts, and I'm mad about the police!
Y'all ever hear of Ryan Wingo? Because I sure hadn't a couple of hours ago but holy shit do I hate this pig now
Tumblr media
This is Ryan Wingo, we will talk about when this photo was taken a little bit later. Ryan Wingo has worked for the Arkansas State Police for around 7 years. A more impartial writer would describe his career as controversial. As I am not impartial, Ryan Wingo is an itty bitty bitch baby who gets off on abusing his power and harassing people!
Let's do a timeline of 3 separate stories!
In 2020, Arkansas Attorney Don Cook was at the Arkansas capitol for a BLM protest shortly after the death of George Floyd. The Arkansas state troopers had been called in by the government for crowd control, including one Ryan Wingo. The crowd of protesters was ordered by the troopers to disperse; many, including Mr. Cook, followed this order.
As Cook was walking away (according to a lawsuit Cook has filed) Ryan Wingo fired a bean bag at him. Cook then required emergency surgery to get parts of the bean bag removed from him, two other surgeries, and suffered injury to his jaw, teeth, and face.
Afterwards, Arkansas police filed an affidavit, in which they alleged that Cook walked towards the police with his fists clenched in a "threatening way". A great sign that this affidavit is not accurate to the actual events that occur is that they describe Cook as wearing an outfit that video shows he was not wearing that night.
However, importantly, this affidavit was filed a year after the incident. Cook went home from the hospital a free man, where he filed a complaint to get the state to cover some of his medical bills.
As the Arkansas times puts it:
Tumblr media
All of this because Ryan Wingo's a dickhead
In 2021, we get another Wingo story that is partially morally grey.
On June 2nd 2021, Timothy Andrew Kemp was riding a motorcycle on U.S 70 when Ryan Wingo attempted to pull him over, Kemp refused to do this, resulting in a chase. Kemp was eventually cornered, and ran into a wooded area.
It is important to note that Arkansas State troopers are not required to wear bodycams, and I've been unable to find dashcam footage of the incident.
However the state and Wingo allege that Wingo chased Kemp into the woods, Wingo attempted to tase Kemp but ended up somehow tasing himself.
Michelle Lawrence, a county prosecutor who cleared Wingo of any wrongdoing in the incident said of the dashcam footage "you could hear what was going on from the car video. They were that close to the car. Actually, not that close, but you could hear what was going on, you could hear the entire struggle from the car. It was a very lengthy struggle. We timed it and it was a little over three minutes."
Wingo then apparently said "give me my gun" to Kemp soon before shooting him to death.
Finally, we have an incident that happened last year, where Wingo was driving along the highway when a car going in the opposite direction sped past him. Wingo attempted to make a U-turn without any indication. Charles Donner, who was driving a ways behind him, honked his horn, which caused Wingo to give up on chasing the speeding vehicle, turn his lights on, and pull over Donner.
Donner pulled into the right lane of the road, slowly coming to a stop, and Wingo proceeded to crash his patrol car into the back of Donners. He then told Donner and his wife Brittany to pull into an empty parking lot.
Wingo explained that he pulled them over because Donner was riding the patrol car too close (in car camera footage shows this to be false) and because Donner brake checked Wingo (dashcam footage shows this to also be false). Donner, a military veteran with PTSD, then rightly told Wingo repeatedly to go fuck himself while complying with Wingos traffic stop.
But then hearing the word fuck hurt wingos feewings :( so he proceeded to drag Donner out of his car, cuff him, and drag him to the back of his patrol car.
Now the best part about the dashcam video is that Wingo called for back up, and the back up proceeds to explain to Donner what he did wrong after Wingo tells them his version of events. Donner explains that that's not what happened, that he and his wife both agree that that's not what happened, and the back up refuse to listen to him.
Donner was not arrested, but he was given a citation. Donner and his wife are now suing on the grounds of violation of civil rights
youtube
This incident is where we get the lovely little photo of Wingo.
Ryan Wingo is a dangerous man who should not be given any power, as all cops are.
As of right now Wingo still has his job, and a little over a thousand people have signed a petition asking for his termination (which probably will not happen)

All The Concerts!
my mom wrote down every concert she's ever been to and it's a LOT, like in the triple digits
and it got me thinking if I could name every concert I've ever been to? I am fearful I might forget some tho my MS memory sucks but here goes:
New Kids on the Block
Boyz II Men/MC Hammer
Tori Amos (x7)
Switchblade Symphony
KMFDM with Nivek Ogre
VNV Nation (x2)
Air Supply (x2)
Terri Clark (lol I hated country when my family dragged me to this one, I was in my peak Snob Goth era)
Garth Brooks (happened much later when I had learned to embrace country)
Peter Cetera
Sarah McLachlan
The Editors
Radiohead (i hated this hahah, it was so fucking boring like their music. My friend bought the tickets and I had hoped seeing them live would make it click. It did not. I was bored and cold because it was raining in Seattle)
Coldplay (was so much better than Radiohead, seethe snobby indie rock fans)
Regina Spektor
The Decemberists (literally the worst concert I've ever seen. Again I did not buy the tickets but my friend who liked going to indie rock shows always bought two tickets in hopes of getting a date and I was her backup if she didn't. To be clear even though this and Radiohead sucked, I did have a great time with my friend both times)
Cake
George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic
Puscifer
Barry Manilow
ummm now I'm drawing a blank but I KNOW I've been to more shows and the stupid brain damage is making me forget. I've always been to see a fuck ton of tribute bands at this supper club, and tbh they were almost all really good. The Pink Floyd one especially. Also lol in middle school once this club I was in had a band come perform and they were like... a hair metal Christian band that took mainstream rock songs like "Living on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi and changed the lyrics to like... "LIVING 'CAUSE I PRAAYYYY" and it was fucking hilarious. It's driving me crazy tho because I know there are more actual real concerts I am forgetting -_-
so i guess if you count all the artists I saw multiple times, it comes to... *maths* 28 concerts? Which tbh does not feel like nearly enough.
on the bucket list:
Vienna Teng
Brandi Carlile
Portishead (lol this will never happen but a girl can dream)
Beyoncé
Taylor Swift
TOOL
A Perfect Circle
The Amazing Devil (which is somehow even less likely than Portishead)
SO I'LL MAKE THIS A MEME. Tell me which concerts you've been to, and tell me which concerts you feel like you MUST see before you die. @deathinthesun @an-ivy-covered-summer @swiftzeldas @sylvieons and whoever else wants to do it~
I did get Taylor tickets last year HOWEVER they were... beyond atrocious, the seats. Like, upper upper deck, BEHIND the stage with like no visibility, not even of the screens, because again: BEHIND. I had like three people trying to get tickets that day and 2/3 of us failed but my friend succeeded and she was like "do you want me to buy these? they're upper deck" and I was like yeah yeah that's okay! We can look at the screens! And then I saw the "OBSTRUCTED VISIBILITY" thing and looked at the layout and I was like...kind of devastated, honestly? It's really hard for me to do an outing like that physically, it was outdoors in April (which translates to HOT in Florida) and I just didn't see myself able to endure 5 or 6 hours at minimum in the heat without like, passing out and dying. Not to mention I'm still really scared of being in a large space with that many people because my disease-modifying drug destroys most of my immune system. I ended up selling them, and... buying my vinyl collection lol. Taylor got a lot of that money again because I bought a lot of her records. I'm kind of bummed that maybe I missed my chance forever, but again, I don't think I could have physically swung it. Plus, of the three nights she did Tampa, the show I was supposed to go to had meh surprise songs while the other 2 nights had AMAZING ones, so I know I would have been salty about that too. ONE DAY THO.

Even liberal San Francisco voters are getting tough on crime and public disorder.
Residents of the City by the Bay approved ballot measures Tuesday to set minimum police staffing levels, allow officers to chase suspects under reasonable suspicion they have committed or will commit a felony or nonviolent misdemeanor — with the help of drones — and set up public safety cameras that could use facial recognition technology to apprehend perps.
Another proposition that passed requires anyone who receives employment assistance, housing, shelter, utilities or food from city coffers to submit to drug screenings — and denies them those benefits unless they enter a treatment program.
The San Francisco Police Department had prohibited officers from pursuing nonviolent offenders unless there was an imminent risk to public safety.
Mayor London Breed, a Democrat, backed the ballot measures as she eyes re-election to a second full term in November — while facing challenges from Daniel Lurie, a nonprofit executive, and current and former city officials including ex-interim mayor Mark Farrell.
“We want San Francisco to be exactly what the people who live here want to see,” Breed said at a cocktail bar surrounded by supporters as the results rolled in Tuesday night, according to Politico. “And that is a safe, affordable place to call home.”
Voters also overwhelmingly approved tighter ethics rules for city employees regarding the receipt of gifts and mandating the teaching of Algebra I in schools by eighth grade.
Ballot measures allow voters to directly change laws during elections without the help of their elected officials.
Following a spate of state and local changes to crime policies in recent, San Francisco has been dogged by retail crime sprees, burglaries, rampant open-air drug use and public defecation.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, during a high-profile TV debate this past November against former San Francisco Mayor and current California Gov. Gavin Newsom, pointed to the city’s downfall as proof of failed liberal policies.
Dozens of big-name businesses have departed the city’s formerly bustling downtown area since 2020, the year after Breed was elected. Drug overdose deaths also hit a record high last year, with 806 recorded.
The descent into lawlessness was turbocharged by the COVID-19 pandemic and widespread rioting following the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police in summer 2020, as San Francisco and other cities embraced calls to defund law enforcement.
Breed supported a $120 million cut from the city’s police budget in 2020 — but reversed course the following year and pleaded with the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to restore funding.
“I’m proud this city believes in giving people second chances,” she said in December 2021. “Nevertheless, we also need there to be accountability when someone does break the law … Our compassion cannot be mistaken for weakness or indifference … I was raised by my grandmother to believe in ‘tough love,’ in keeping your house in order, and we need that, now more than ever.”
The pivot to the center came just in time, as disgruntled San Francisco voters went on the following year to recall District Attorney Chesa Boudin, a progressive prosecutor and former public defender.
Before that, parents had ousted three members of the city’s school board for pushing a progressive political agenda and keeping classrooms closed during the coronavirus pandemic.
A former city supervisor, Breed was elected mayor in 2018 to finish out the term of the late Ed Lee, who died in office. She was later elected to a five-year term in November 2019.
She is still working to regain the trust of law enforcement officials, however, with the San Francisco Deputy Sheriffs’ Association saying in November that her “commitment to dismantling the criminal justice system has remained a focal point.”
Breed is battling a high disapproval rating, with 71% of likely general election voters taking exception to her job performance, according to a San Francisco Chronicle poll last month.
The city’s ranked-choice voting system could also throw a wrench into Breed’s re-election bid if she does not receive at least 50% support in the initial round, as second- and third-place candidates often receive more votes than those at the top of the ticket.

A Georgia judge on Friday denied bond for Harrison Floyd, the only one of 18 co-defendants in former President Donald Trump’s election interference case in Fulton County to stay in jail, and the former Black Voices for Trump leader has a history of politics and legal trouble.
Key Facts
Floyd, a 39-year-old U.S. Marine veteran, served as the director of the political group Black Voices for Trump during the 2020 election cycle, and was charged last week in the Fulton County case with violating Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, for influencing a witness and conspiracy to commit solicitation of false statements.
According to the indictment, Floyd pressured Ruby Freeman, an election worker in Fulton County, after she refused to change the results of the county’s vote in the 2020 election for Trump, with Freeman testifying before the House January 6 Committee last year that she was forced to leave her home for two months and quit her job after receiving threats after the election.
Floyd, a graduate of George Washington University, had become a prominent Republican in Georgia in recent years, running in 2019 for a Congressional seat.
Floyd dropped out of the race just over a month after announcing his candidacy, saying he “might be the guy doing this in the future,” while expressing his support for a GOP state representative in his place (Democrat Carolyn Bourdeaux won the district in 2020).
In 2020, Floyd led the organization Black Voices for Trump, and also served as executive producer of right-wing outlet Bright News and as a partner at Washington D.C.-based Commonwealth International, according to his LinkedIn page.
Floyd had been charged in a separate case in May with second-degree assault and arrested for allegedly attacking an FBI agent who had served him a grand jury subpoena in the Department of Justice’s investigation into efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
According to a complaint in federal District Court in Maryland, Floyd refused to accept the subpoena, putting his finger to the face of one of two FBI agents who arrived at his residence, yelling: “You haven’t given me anything; I don’t know who the f**k you are.”
Later that night, Floyed called 911, accusing the agents of accosting him and saying: “They were lucky I didn’t have a gun on me, because I would have shot his fucking ass,” the Huffington Post reported.
Forbes has reached out to Floyd’s court-listed attorney in Maryland, Carlos Salvado—Floyd does not have an attorney listed in the Georgia case.
On Friday, Fulton County Judge Emily Richardson denied bond for Floyd after he determined he posed a flight risk and a risk to commit further criminal felonies if released on bail (Georgia state law requires defendants to be determined to pose no “significant risk of fleeing” and pose no “threat or danger to any person” or of committing a felony to be released on bail).
What To Watch For
Richardson said in her determination on Friday that the terms of Floyd’s bond “will be addressed,” but that the full terms fall on Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee, who is overseeing the case. Floyd, however, has contested his bond denial, telling Richardson on Friday: “There is no way I’m a flight risk. I showed up here before the president was here.”
Tangent
Trump was indicted by a grand jury in Fulton County last week on 13 felony counts, including racketeering, solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer, conspiracy to commit forgery, false statements and conspiracy to impersonate a public officer.. After just over a week, Trump surrendered to authorities in a brief procedure on Thursday, posting a $200,000 bond after giving a mug shot and his fingerprints before promptly leaving Georgia. All 18 of his co-defendants also turned themselves in by Friday, with Pastor Stephen Lee becoming the last to do so before the 12 p.m. deadline, following a group of former Trump aides and attorneys, as well as so-called fake electors in Trump’s legal team’s dubious plot to overturn the results of his election loss to President Joe Biden.

When the progressive woke revolution took over traditional America, matters soon reached the level of the ridiculous.
Take the following examples of woke craziness and hypocrisy, perhaps last best witnessed during Mao Zedong’s Cultural Revolution.
The Biden administration from its outset wished to neuter immigration law. It sought to alter radically the demography of the U.S. by stopping the border wall and allowing into the United States anyone who could walk across the southern border.
Over seven million did just that. Meanwhile, Biden ignored the role of the Mexican cartels in causing nearly 100,000 ANNUAL American fentanyl deaths.
Then border states finally wised up.
They grasped that the entire open-borders, “new Democratic majority” leftwing braggadocio was predicated on its hypocritical architects staying as far away as possible from their new constituents.
So cash strapped border states started busing their illegal aliens to sanctuary blue-state jurisdictions.
Almost immediately, once magnanimous liberals, whether in Martha’s Vineyard, Chicago, or Manhattan, stopped virtue-signaling their support for open borders.
Instead, soon they went berserk over the influx.
So now an embarrassed Biden administration still wishes illegal aliens to keep coming but to stay far away from their advocates—by forcing them to remain in Texas.
That means the president has redefined the US. border. It rests now apparently north of Texas, as Biden cedes sovereignty to Mexico.
Precivilizational greens in California prefer blowing up dams to building them.
They couldn’t care less that their targeted reservoirs help store water in drought, prevent flooding, enhance irrigation, offer recreation, and generate clean hydroelectric power.
Now an absurd green California is currently destroying four dams on the Klamath River. In adding insult to injury, it is paying the half-billion dollar demolition cost in part through a water bond that state voters once thought would build new—not explode existing—dams.
The Biden administration is mandating new dates when electric vehicles will be all but mandatory.
To prove their current viability, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm led a performance art EV caravan on a long road trip.
When she found insufficient charging stations to continue her media stunt, she sent a gas-powered car ahead to block open charging stations and deny them to other EVs ahead in line.
Only that way could Granholm ensure that her arriving energy-starved motorcade might find rare empty charger stalls.
In some California charging stations, diesel generators are needed to produce enough “clean” electricity to power the stalls.
The state has steadily dismantled many of its nuclear, oil, and coal power plants. It refuses to build new natural gas generation plants.
Naturally, California’s heavily subsidized solar and wind plants now produce too much energy during the day and almost nothing at night.
So the state now begs residents to charge their EVs only during the day. Then at night, Californians may soon be asked to plug them in again to transfer what is left in their batteries into the state grid.
Apparently only that way will there be enough expropriated “green” electricity for 41 million state residents after dark.
One of the loudest leftist voices to defund the police, and decriminalize violent crimes in the post-George Floyd era, was Shivanthi Sathanandan, the 2nd Vice Chairwoman of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party.
She was recently not shy about defunding: “We are going to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department. Say it with me. DISMANTLE.”
But recently the loud Sathanandan was a victim of the very crime wave she helped to spawn.
Four armed thugs carjacked her automobile. They beat her up in front of her children at her own home, and sped off without fear of arrest.
The reaction of the arch police dismantler and decriminalizer on her road to Damascus?
The now bruised and bleeding activist for the first time became livid that criminals had taken over her Minneapolis: “Look at my face. REMEMBER ME when you are thinking about supporting letting juveniles and young people out of custody to roam our streets instead of HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS.”
Andrea Smith was an ethnic studies professor  at the University of California, Riverside. But now she has been forced out after getting caught lying that she was Native American.
Prior to her outing, she was well known for damning “white women” (like herself) who opted to “become Indians” out of guilt, and (like her) for careerist advantage.
The common theme of these absurdities is how contrary to human nature, impractical, and destructive is utopian wokism, whether in matters of energy, race, crime, or illegal immigration.
There are two other characteristics of the Woke Revolution.
One, it depends solely on its advocates never having to experience firsthand any of the nonsense they inflict on others.
And two, dangerous zealots with titles before, and letters after, their names prove to be quite stupid—and dangerous.

Can I request Molly & Tab, #6: things you said in the shade of a tree? please and thank you!
Whatever regular spoilers you'd put for 1.10, I guess. We can't have nice things on this blog.
Mornings looked different after nights like these.
Molly stood under the trees and considered the lake. The last eight or nine hours had been a blur, Tab coming through the hall and pounding on the doors, rousing everyone out who was there to be roused that Captain Speirs was having them put out roadblocks and run a man to ground.
Half-sleeping and confused, they went, focus becoming sharper as more details emerged and anger was allowed to take root in place of fear.
Chuck Grant had been shot.
The man they were being sent to find had done it, some nobody from nowhere who'd been on a bender and didn't know his right foot from his left, drunk as hell and stupid for it.
It had been a while, since they'd been in a battle, but her body remembered it - everyone's did. Hands remembered routines, muscles fell back into the rhythms they'd rehearsed so often at Mackall and practiced in Normandy, and Holland, and Belgium.
And they'd found him, all right. Didn't take but a few hours, and they'd dragged him, drunk but slowly sobering, back to the CP to await whatever judgement the law allowed - and whatever punishment they could dole out in the meantime. Molly had come back late to that - she and Hannah were standing in the hall with Floyd and George and their card game when the Captain came back, sidearm already in hand.
Billie's knuckles were already bloody, in the other room - Molly had caught the flash of an arm, heard the familiar sound of fist meeting flesh. She knew Billie's anger, but she wasn't sure she wanted to see its effects. But then, no one had wanted to see Chuck's head half-open either, and this was merely like for like. From the looks of things, Billie had it in her mind to open this joker's head up, too - and would have done, if Speirs hadn't shown up to do the job himself.
She hadn't heard everything, though someone told her afterwards about Speirs and saying sir. She'd been too busy watching Tab, staring down at his game of cards, merely listening to the other room.
It was morning now - the soldier had been packed off to the MPs and not a word was said about the bloody state of his face. Everyone had slowly drifted back to bed, to get whatever sleep they could after it was agreed morning drill would be cancelled.
Billie had not come back to their room last night, and Molly did not need to ask where she had gone. Things like that were better left unsaid. She'd meant to go back to sleep, but dawn was too close and sleep would not come, so she'd wandered outside, taking a walk through Zell's deserted streets before coming back to the hotel and the lake, and seeing Tab under the shade of one of the oaks, legs sprawled in front of him, staring into space.
He looked up as she walked over and cleared her throat, silently acknowledging her before his eyes went back to the water. For a while neither spoke. "Is he going to be okay?" Molly asked.
Tab sniffed and dug the heel of his boot into the dirt, looking out at the early morning calm of the lake, the ducks making their slow and leisurely ripples across the water. "Don't know. Doctor says they won't know for a few hours - give his system time to rest. It's a big…a big maybe."
It wasn't the only thing she wanted to know. "Are you gonna be okay?" He said nothing. "You did everything you could, Tab." Everything short of punching that man, and that wasn't ever going to do anything - not really. Billie got in enough for the both of you.
"Yeah, I'm…I'll be fine." The silence was expansive. He swallowed and took a deep breath. "This place is really pretty."
Molly considered the lake, the ducks and the mountains and the way the morning sun was hitting all of it, somehow washing away the night before. "Yeah. Yeah, it is."
