I suppose I could shift through the titles of the old disco hits to figure out what Archie's original dialogue was in that last panel. I suspect that an offer that Veronica had "Dance Fever" is a lot less off - putting than him telling his dad that she is "the new hotness". Maybe he could pass off that she was "burning up" as strictly defined as on the dance floor?

Updated: And the original punchline is more basic, with no weird sexual attraction inference.
