It's not a carnival, it's one of the holidays in my culture (which has nothing to do with carnivals), and it has a name.

You don't get to make up another name for it because you feel like it.

One of the most disheartening parts of the Trump-era Latino concentration camps (which are still ongoing, btw) was having Jewish people on this hellsite say that the concentration camps aren't concentration camps and that Latinos are being insensitive to Jews by crying wolf about this.

As if only Jewish people can be put in concentration camps.

As if concentration camps were invented to oppress Jews, rather than literally invented in Latin America for Europeans to oppress Latinos.

^ A concentration camp in Cuba run by the Spanish.

As if the fact that we're being put in cages,

having our children separated from us by being told that they're going to take a shower,

getting gassed with harmful chemicals,

getting compared to vermin,

couldn't possibly remotely be eerily similar to the Holocaust.

As if it's some kind of competition.

Of course, not every Jew does this (e.g. A Holocaust survivor said in an interview that he could see direct parallels between 2018 US and 1930s Germany).

But it was (and is) very disheartening to see people that should be some of the most understanding of our plight be at best dismissive of the seriousness of the situation.
