Chris Young - Famous Friends - Deluxe Edition
So today on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I will be talking about the latest album from Country Music Singer Chris Young. That album is titled "Famous friends" and was released on Friday August 6th, 2021. The deluxe edition was released on Friday June 3rd, 2022. But before we dive into the 14 track CD, let's talk about some of the career of Chris Young next.
Chris has been a staple of the modern Country Music Era. He has released songs like "The man I want to be", "I'm comin' over", & "Gettin' you home". Chris has 2 number ones on my weekly Countdown list Midnight Star Report (MSR) which combines the Billboard Country Music Airplay Charts with CMT (Country Music Television), and used to also include GAC (Great American Country) until that list officially retired. Those number ones are "Hangin' on", & "Sober Saturday night" which features Vince Gill. Now back to this 14 track project and 20 tracks total on the deluxe edition.
This is Chris's first album in 4 years. So a few singles we already have heard on the radio like "Raised on Country", "Drowning", & "Famous friends" which features Kane Brown. Other tracks you should check out are "Town ain't big enough" with Lauren Alaina, "Rescue me", & "Break like you do". He has another song with Mitchell Tenpenny "At the end of a bar". And the stand out song in my opinion is "Cross every line". The album has a nice bookend of mentioning George Strait "Raised on Country", & "Tonight we're dancing". Let's check out the rest of the track list now.
There are 6 more tracks on the deluxe edition of the album including 2 acoustic versions of Chris Young's hits. They are "Think of you" with Cassadee Pope, & "I'm comin' over". The 4 new tracks are "Everyone needs a song" with Old Dominion, & "Music note" with Jimmie Allen. The other tracks are "If I knew what was good for me", & "Like a slow song". Chris also co-wrote 3 out of the 4 new tracks from the new deluxe edition.

And that's a wrap for the track list. And on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would give this album a 4.5 out of 5 stars. This could possibly be the best album I have heard all year, but the only issue I had with it was waiting four years to get new music from Chris. Chris had a hand in cowriting 13 out of the 14 tracks from the regular edition. He also had help from Rhett Akins, Shay Mooney, & Mitchell Tenpenny. And I understand thats not Chris's Fault. MSR - Brett Eldredge - Glow (Deluxe Edition)
So today on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I am going to talk about the latest edition of country music superstar Brett Eldredge's Christmas CD "Glow", the deluxe edition. The original edition was released two years ago. This release date was October 26th, 2018 for the deluxe edition which has 18 songs instead of 14 on the regular edition.
You can hear classic versions of Christmas songs from Brett Eldredge trying to do his best "Frank Sinatra" style. His version of "Baby, it's cold outside" featuring Meghan Trainor who has wrote songs for Rascal Flatts, Dan + Shay, & Lauren Alaina. And of course his own exclusive Christmas song "Glow". And two versions of "The first Noel" including one that is a cappella. And you can relive his songs from CMA country Christmas 2018 hosted by Reba McEntire. He played "Silver bells", & "Have yourself a merry little Christmas". So let's see what else we have on this album.
