Lauryssa or Nyssara?

Not that I don't love Nyssara (in fact, it's the one that's currently canon in the Arrowverse Polycule AU), but I lloooveee Lauryssa. Nyssara did so much for Arrowverse queers, I just really enjoyed watching Lauryssa's relationship unfold onscreen in real time- we didn't get that for Nyssara. The idea of dating your sister's ex (who she's still kinda in love with, canon as of Crisis on Earth-X), Nyssa mentoring Laurel and teaching her how to fight, helping her blossom into a better field hero, and Laurel teaching Nyssa the beauty in the mundane like dipping your fries into milkshakes... It's rich, it's adorable, I wuv them.

Jilven Gearbreaker, Goblin Warlock - WoW incarnation of the one and only Jilven. Ex-cartel goblin, acclaimed Horde hero, industry grade snark machine.

Zoolah, Troll Shaman - No-nonsense, ride-or-die companion to Jilven and renowned Horde hero. One of the top proponents of ending the Horde-Alliance conflict once and for all.

Glavette Witherblade, Goblin Death Knight - Long-suffering angst machine turned unsettlingly tranquil problem solver, revered (and slightly feared) Horde hero. Adopted sister to Jilven and Zoolah, who will vivisect you if you're mean to her.

Ixa, Goblin Priest - Travelling priestess, unaffiliated with the Horde. Textbook goodie-two-shoes, renowned exterminator of demons and undead.

Narru, Dwarf Mage - WoW incarnation of Nouru, with the same personality - strong sense of justice, quick wit and hot temper. Up-and-comer Alliance hero.

Luitte, Goblin Rogue - Unaffiliated mercenary on the surface, loyal Horde agent underneath. Easy-going, but also very ruthless. Highly likely to try and get in your pants, will leave with your wallet.

Ishara, Draenei Paladin - Acclaimed Alliance hero, and another textbook goodie-two-shoes. She has lost a lot of her naivety over the years, and is strongly opposed to the Horde-Alliance conflict. Also a widely-known, international object of thirst.

Lauryssa, Nightborne Mage - An exterior of amicability, optimism and wide-eyed curiosity conceals a highly intelligent, cunning and dangerously powerful mage, who has quickly earned her place among the best heroes of the Horde.

Rakwos, Zandalari Priest - An influential loa priest who also happens to be a self-appointed fixer for the Zuldazar throne. Unfailing loyalty to King Rastakhan and the Empire drives him to chilling ruthlessness when dealing with enemies, external or internal.

(Zoolah, Luitte and Ishara are trans girls, Rakwos is - gasp - a cis guy, and the rest are variations on the theme of AFAB fem-aligned genders)

Not sure if these are much good, but here goes!

Sleep:

I think they're both early risers, but that Nyssa's the lighter sleeper. As a consequence, she's also the one more likely of the two to take a nap during the day, though Laurel will happily cuddle with Nyssa while she falls asleep if she doesn't have anything else to do.

Happy:

This isn't really a headcanon, but just the fact that Nyssa considers the time that she spent training and hanging with Laurel in s3 as the happiest time of her life makes me really happy. It also says a lot about her other relationships... but let's not worry about those right now. The point is, these two make each other very happy even as just friends, and they'd probably be even happier had they gotten the chance to get together.

Angry/Violent:

I don't think they ever get violent (with each other, that is). Nyssa usually just storms away when she's upset, and Laurel's demonstrated she'll let her go cool off rather than try to follow after her to keep arguing the point.

Sex:

I think Nyssa would be the first woman Laurel would ever be with sexually (not necessarily the first woman she's attracted to, though). However, I think that Laurel is also the more assertive of the two when she really knows what she wants and goes after it.

Quirks/Hobbies:

I think Laurel signs them up for all kinds of different classes to try out different hobbies to see what Nyssa likes, since growing up she really wouldn't have been allowed to develop those kinds of interests. And maybe it leads to Laurel picking up a new hobby or two as well.

Old Age/Aging:

Wow, got to make me sad reminding me that canon!Laurel never got to grow old, huh? Ah well, this is in the realm of headcanon where female characters don't get stupidly fridged. I don't know that I have a specific headcanon for them as an older couple. They'd still be happy, still doing the things that make them happy together. Probably just less fieldwork, but otherwise I can't see them being all that different from how they already are.

It's an odd feeling where my favourite Arrow character (and the best adapted) is E2 Dinah Laurel Lance but my favourite Arrow ship (the one that was supposed to be CANON) is Lauryssa.

#tbf all the other ships were either not well developed #or borderline incestuous depending on if you've read the comics #lauryssa was chefs kiss #as for dinah #e1 was great #but even she was just a watered down version of dinah lance #e2 however #they got a woman as a showrunner and Dinah Lance instantly became the best character #dinah laurel lance #arrow #lauryssa
