While we were in the middle of our lavender bud harvest, we experienced a heat wave! Lavender blossoms do not provide much value to a lavender farmer. Our still can only produce 4 gallons of hydrosol per 24 hours. We scrambled to find processing options! @seafoamlavender mentioned that lavender blossom jelly is a great way to process the blossoms! We hand lovingly harvested the blossoms one by one by hand, steeped in a vessel of our artisian well water and tested. Wow! A bougie item for your charcuterie board! Pairs well with Brie cheese, makes a fabulous glaze for your plank salmon, a refreshing ice cream topper or stir a half teaspoon in your plain Greek yogurt for a flavor burst! Pick some up (while supplies last) in Saugatuck SCA Tuesdays 10-2, Fridays 9-3 or South Haven farm market Wednesdays 8-2, Saturdays 8-2 or on our farm Sundays 11-2. Camp Camp/Warrior cats AU
warning long post (three word pages omg)
Big thanks once again to @123lionclan for all the help making this, and to mystery anon for Gwen’s name
It all stars in a clan we will call for now Lilacclan. One day a loner cat came to stay in the camp. His name was Cameron, a Brown Maine coon with a red collar that had some holes in the back. He was strong and his words were captivating. He is accepted in the clan as Foreststorm and when a cat named Heatherstar becames the leader, he makes him his deputy.
Heatherstar has a mate and a daughter who becomes the medicine cat. Her name is Lavenderblossom, she is Young and anxious and easy to scare. She will be important later.
Heatherstar dies and that’s where the problems begin.
The land was large, surronding a lake and limited by some far away two-legs thunderpath and houses and lands. In the middle of the lake was an island where the Moonstone was. At one side of Lilacclan territory where a small “clan” made by strong apprentices looking for hard, military-like training, Woodclan, and by the other side was Flowerclan’s territory, situated in a big stable-farm where the food abundant and two-legs always had nice herbs there.
Foreststorm, now known as Foreststar, tries to send patrols to dominate the neighbour’s territories, al for selfish reasons. Some are gravely injuried by Woodclan, others can’t even get through Flowerclan’s complicated territory. So Foreststar begins to exile most of adult cats and others ran away. Between them is Lavenderblossom, who ran away with a male kittypet, her mate. Now Lilacclan had only a few apprentices, some of their mentor and the new medicine cat, Quartermaster, a weird three legged cat who was a loner just like Foreststar. In between the apprentices there was Sparrowpaw, whose parents ran away a long time ago but he decided to stay as he was close to be the next deputy, and Maplepaw, who was a stray kitten found near the two-legs houses after his own parents abandoned him. At first he didn’t want to join, but the hunger was killing him.
After a journey to the Moonstone, Sparrowpaw almost dies and doesn’t want to work for Foreststar anymore. On the other side, Maplepaw starts liking more nature than the town and starts to see Foreststorm as a father figure. Then Forststar exiles the few Warriors left until there’s only the two apprentices, Quartermaster and him. In another task to the moonstone Sparrowpaw dies for a falling rock (maybe?) in vain. Foreststar is ready to disperse the clan and put an end to it but Maplepaw sais how he liked to live and train in the wild much better than in the town, Foreststar thinks on the idea of training young town cats in the forest.
But of course it all comes in a selfish way, as the more cats learn to hunt, the more food will be in the fresh kill pile without him moving a whisker as he was the leader. All he cares about is food.
So when Maplepaw becomes old enough, he becomes Mapleheart, the deputy. And since both Woodclan and Flowerclan have stuff in their pelt symbolicing their Rank and their trophy (Woodclan twigs and leaves and Flowerclan flowers. Is like human badges) he comes with the idea of making a yellow marking with pollen around his neck mimicking his own collar who gave him so much success. He is careless, however Mapleheart is much more careful with the markings, giving much thought into them.
At first, only Mapleheart and sometimes Foreststar would mentor some apprentices (Quartermaster…no) until one day they come across a starving and desesperated she-cat who wasn’t accepted in any clan. Mapleheart accepts her and she is named Rosestep. Thanks to her, the clan can get more apprentices and thanks to her, Foreststar doesn’t have to be there all the time, so he sneaks out, lives as a temporary kittypet with his collar, puts dog teeth in the holes of his collar and goes to city clan (much like Bloodclan) to become the leader there too (like the prime minister of Thailand you know?)
Mapleheart and Rosestep then take care, along with Quartermaster, of al the apprentices the deputy and his leader managed to recruit.
Remember Lavenderblossom? Heatherstar’s daughter and once medicine cat who ran away wih a kittypet? She and her mate had kits. One of them had close contact to starclan due to his origins, and has some kind of power he still isn’t able to control it, witch made him hurt his brother. His parents didn’t hesitate to throw him to the clan when the oportunity arrived. He is large and fluffy, with with Brown and his name is Firepaw. Mapleheart gave him a pollen marking on his right eye. His warrior name is Firefly.
Another of them is Scarpaw, a red spotted Young cat whose mother had to take care of from their abusive pack and decided he’ll be safe and he’ll learn in the clan better than in that Street. Mapleheart gave him a pollen marking in his scars, as his goal was to heal them. His warrior name is Gingerscar.
Another is Aridpaw, a bright yellow Young cat with a scar in her eye who was adopted by two pólice dogs, a pitbull and a German shepherd, when they found her starving in the streets, but they were too busy working to teach her anything. Due to this, she has dog habits. Mapleheart managed to fill her tail tip with pollen, so when she rans away, it would leave small sparkles as it is blown away by the wind. Her warrior name is Aridbreeze.
Other is Spottedpaw, whose father was an exiled warrior and wishes his weak son would become strong. He is a calico small kitten and hi has a passion in vissuals. He often decorates his clanmates dens with flowers and branches and rocks and even two-leg trash in a way it looks beautiful. His pollen marking is his whole right foot.
Another kitten who had warrior ancestors was Nightpaw, who is black with a White spot in his chest. He has a great admiration for starclan for all the things his family told him, even if most of them where kinda twisted. Mapleheart gave him a pollen mark in his back, for he is too naive to know the truth that hides behind him.
Another cat was a kittypet with high self steem but an outcast. She is a Brown tabby. Her parents decided to send her to the clan, for the adventures and for the new company. She likes so much fantasy, Mapleheart gave her a pollen marking in the left eye, much like Firepaw’s, and named her Dragonpaw, one of the things she likes to imagine exist, as she Heard it from her two-leg. Her warrior name is Dragonfly.
Another kittypet who joins is a dark Brown Slim cat with a fluffy chest. Much like Dragonpaw, he was lonely and wanted Company. His name is Shinepaw, a dramatic cat who likes to act like other things, and the deputy painted his whole chest floof with pollen.
Meanwhile, one of the cats neither the leader not the deputy managed to enthral was a kittypet with a blue scarf. He was small, fluffy, a Brown siamese. Mapleheart ofted finds him looking for food in the garbage can he himself used to live when his parent abandoned him. His name was Max, and even if sometimes, when the kitten would really be starving, he would go in the clan, he won’t join in the training or activities or even try to make Friends. He would just be in one tree eating in silence and then left.
One day, in some houses nearby he found two other kittens. A White with Greenish spots female with puppy-like ears and fangs who just moved, and a Brown and White tabby male, a bigger than her. The deputy managed to make them join the clan the same day Max went to be there for a while.
He made two new Friends, and decided to stay there only for them.
The Brown tabby male named Neil was known now as Walnutpaw, for he said it made two-legs more intelligent, and that is what he is. For that, his pollen marking is in his forehead. His warrior name is Walnutshell.
The spotted she cat with the kittypet name Nikki was now known as Wildpaw. She had all her toes covered in pollen. She also had the hability to talk to animals and would have loved to be raised by wolves. Or at least dogs. She loved Aridpaw for that. Her warrior name is Wildwolf.
Mapleheart gave Max the name Bluepaw and a marking in his chest, much like his, althought he prefered Max and would cover the pollen marking with the scarf.
The rest is pretty much the episodes.
As for parents day, Mapleheart calls out Max for being lazy and not trying and that he could go back to his beloved two-leg house. But Rosestep, who knew Max from the days she was homeless, knew he needed to see that actually, his humans would often left his food bowl empty for days and lock him out, or even abuse him physically, and that’s the reason he would often find him in the garbage can or hunting and didn’t allow anyone but Wildpaw and Walnutpaw close. He then does his best to give him the father figure he once found in Foreststar.
