do you think you’d enjoy being a lawyer if it came to that?
I have never worked as a lawyer, even just an internship so my opinion is mostly based on opinions about the job rather than a real experience.
Having my own practice is of no appeal to me at all. Being employed by another lawyer seems better but overall, I have a very bad image of the work conditions. Some of my friends are lawyers and they all love their jobs but they make horrible hours, don't take their days off paid when they are sick so they can work...
It just seems a lot and I am not someone whose life can revolve around work, even if said work is fullfilling and stimulating.

The Jedi Order mainly being an institution about teaching makes me sad that we never see more "Jedi classes" outside of the popular ones like martial arts, healthcare and Force wackery.
Alongside basic language and science education etc there have to be at least some trade and college courses on offer, right? The Jedi need a bunch of their own people with law degrees. Proper pedagogy studies for future crèchemasters. Cooks. Managers. All types of engineers. Electricians. Accountants. Researchers. How many Jedi hold a doctorate or professorate? Because I think a large number of them do. Their databanks are filled with millennia of dissertations. You can still find Yoda's articles from 500 years ago and cite them in your history research paper.
The Order just having its own micro-economy going on and every member getting their own regular job education next to all the lightsaber swinging adventures... pls

at the heart of any person, there are a number of very simple needs.
1. notice I am here.
2. notice I am alive.
3. notice my proficiency at being alive.
4. notice my emotions.
5. reassure me I am safe.
6. reassure me I will be safe later.
7. reassure me I am Good.
8. reassure me I am loved.
if you are feeling low, or feeling personally unsatisfied, go down this list and make sure your basic heart-of-hearts needs are met. if not, either work on helping yourself actualize these or seek others who can help.
i am not a psychologist, though. add more or subtract some of these items at your discretion.

the good news: my partner is out of town for two weeks so i can blast ttpd from midnight til dawn when it comes out and every day for a week
the bad news: my partner has left me unsupervised during ttpd week which is also my finals week so there is no one to make sure i am doing work instead of only lying on the floor (or dancing??!?) listening to ttpd

the thing about law school though is that if I were actually go to law school, the best US law school that meets my requirements for a place i'd actually want to go is unfortunately...my current university. in which my department shares a building with offices for the law school. it would be like I'd never left.
