VERY mini plant update

my first repotted leaf prop! I know the baby plant looks a little small for a repot, but this was a water propagation and actually has a large root system! the root system was getting long and extensive enough that it was trailing directly in the water and I didn’t want to risk it rotting out.

so baby gets her own pot!

(you can see two of the smaller roots still sticking out of the top of the soil.)

I have potted out 3/5 of my seedling trays and oh boy oh man. I may be running out of windowsill.

Sooooo we have 6 cherry tomato bushes, 5 scotch bonnets and 6 numex twilight (which is a multicoloured-fruiting mini chilli bush that I have yet to successfully get to maturity but if I do it'll be so cute, it's got yellow and red and purple fruits all jumbled in together).

then on the kitchen windowsill still in the potting trays (....takeaway boxes) I've got some ghost peppers (germinated but still too small to pot out) and some habaneros (planted more recently bc I forgot I had the seed so hopefully will see some shoots in the next couple of weeks). plus some peas because the FUCKING pigeons have dug up the last 4 sets I planned outside so we're going to try indoor germination.

I also broke up the crowded pot of basil I got for 28p in the clearance fridge like a month ago bc it's dying off and split it across 2 bigger pots, and planted a sweetpea kit mum gave me. so all in all a productive time.

we woke up and got the urge to finally re-pot our baby succulents, which is something we've been meaning to do for about a year but getting ill last July kinda stopped us getting round to it, and I want to know what finally gave us the motivation to do that because we've spent so long going "I should do this" and just... not doing it.

You know, a big plot point in WHA is how you only need learning to do magic. But like... that isn’t really true. Not everyone who knows how to do magic can do magic.

You need tree blood.

WHA is really interested in the politics of information, learning and teaching, and so forth, so it’s not surprising that they focus on the learning of magic. But it does make me wonder why they don’t ever talk about the material necessity of magical ink. It isn’t just learning. If you don’t have silver-leaf trees, you don’t have magic.

It would follow that you could control magic by controlling the supply of magical ink, wouldn’t it? It wouldn’t matter if the entire world knew magic is learnable, if the entire world didn’t have access to the proper ink.

And I wonder if WHA’s silence on the topic is an oversight or. An extremely planned silence.

#aaaaaaa its been dropping leaves a lot more since the oil incident :( #i hope it doesnt die or im gonna be real sad :( #also a leafcutter ant got to it at one point and got a healthy leaf; still mad at it >:( #shut up sheo #wannabe botanist failing at life lmao #AND THE NEIGHBOUR´S CAT KEEPS TOPPLING OVER ALL MY OTHER PLANTS AGHH!! #im so mad at them!! #i have 9 plants i believe #2 dying kalanchoe #2 pothos (that i have in water) #2 succulent propagations i a yet to identify #a golden barrel cactus #a bunny ear cactus #a haworthia #and a blue torch cactus #out of those the only ones who ive had smooth sailing with are the pothos #bc the blue torch got mites; which prompted me to spray it and all my other plants with neem oil #everyone else was fine but my kalanchoe started dying #and as soon as it wasnt dying as much a leafcutter ant bit a chunk of a healthy leaf off and its back to dying again ToT #then my golden barrel; bunny ear and haworthia were also doing well; until the neighbours cat used the place i put them in as a staircase #toppled em over 3 times in a row and the bunny ear cactus especially did not like that #then my succulent propagations were in a completely different place from the rest of y plants #but the cat *still* found them and pissed on them >:O!!! #aghhh bite bite bite bite bite #anyways silly vent and also i love my plants <3 hope everyones having a great day :D!!!!
