I feel like a wet wolf...
I caught a bunch of rain in my attic, but when I got up at 5 this morning, I hear drip, drip, drip in my bedroom closet, and a big wet spot under a light fixture where the water is coming from. This is the first time I’ve had water in there. It’s always been in the laundry room. So I put a bucket under it and head back up to the attic. The decking is all wet, the other bucket is about a 1/4 of…

It was a Dark and Stormy Night
Tumblr media
Decision made that Archie is sleeping in the dark, after all.
Tumblr media
Sort of interesting change in effects for the stormy night. Rain coming down hard.
Tumblr media
It is a move to portray internal psychological madness the rain brings.
Tumblr media
And a reversal from the first panel -- darkness becomes light on the Jones couch.

I hate it when you're venting about your shitty living situation and there's always that one person who pops up and says, "If you gotta roof over your head, you're doing better than someone who's homeless!" Like you're an ungrateful prick who doesn't have the right to want a roof that doesn't leak.

Rain
I love rain – everything about it. The way it looks and feels and smells. I love it in every season of the year.  The sweet spring rains that nourish soil and seeds. Refreshing summer rains that deliver us from the heat and parched earth. Crisp autumn rains that soak fallen leaves and smells like nostalgia and expectancy all at the same time. Cold winter rain that makes me glad for warm fires,…

My beautiful baby that can do no wrong, the class 158
honestly one of my favourite trains, has aged more gracefully that the other sprinters. they feel about the same age as the 170s even though they're 10 years older.

Some time ago, I saw a post that says your body isn't a project, it's your home. And as a homeowner, I have to say yes, your body is your home: it's an ongoing project. Stuff wears out and breaks, and needs to be replaced. Even if they don't, things get outdated and should be replaced or at least upgraded. You may also find yourself moving furniture around or getting new furniture to make living there nicer or even just because you get bored of the same old things, and don't underestimate the power of a fresh coat of paint. And these things keep going. There will never be a point where the house is perfect and won't need any kind of work ever again.
It's the same with your body. You grow old. You get sick. You want a new look. You start working out. Etc. It changes and not always for the better, and you have to take care of it well. This will go on for the rest of your life because unlike a house that you can move out of, you can't switch bodies when you get sick of your current one. You can just make it more comfortable and nicer to live in until you get evicted.
I know the point of that post it to love yourself as is, but loving yourself means constantly adapting to changes. Being stagnant won't leave you in a good place, physically and otherwise. That's how people get bitter and miserable and unwell.
So I guess what I'm saying is yeah, your body is your home. It needs constant work, which isn't always fun, but making you love and be comfortable in it, is worth the effort.

Paid money we don’t have to have our roof redone because we were told it was bad. 23 years and the roof was completely fine. We have the roof redone, and the minute there’s a downpour the DAMN ROOF LEAKS!! In the other bathroom!
We have enough going wrong already and now this. We keep 3 of our cats in there when we put them to bed at night, that’s their routine. That’s their room, and we can’t have them in there because it now the skylight leaks and we were told that it wouldn’t leak because it’s a skylight. I was skeptical of this because we were basically forced into agreeing and they ruined it. And they ran my credit so the loan for a leaky roof is in my name. That makes me look bad.
So now they’re supposedly going to repair it tonight. Which is good, if they do it right-which they should have in the first place since they told us they were BBB certified, licensed, bonded and insured. Oh, and their employees/workers are all trained and certified.
But I have to go to sleep soon so I can get up at 2am to get ready for work. If there are idiots trying to maybe fix the roof I won’t be able to sleep. So they better do it like they should have the first time and do it quick.
