i already said this on someone else’s post but like. spoilers aren’t that serious and we have to stop pretending they are. yeah, getting spoiled can suck, but that doesnt inherently take away any enjoyment you can have of it. if you believe that you believe that any piece of media where you know what happens is unenjoyable.

a whole lot of ancient/classical plays, a whole lot of shakespeare plays, any sherlock holmes story ever, any book-to-movie adaptation ever, any musical where you listened to the soundtrack before seeing it onstage, any video game where you watched a playthrough before playing it yourself, anything you watch on a second viewing ever - all of that, by a “spoilers-bad” person’s logic, is now less enjoyable because you know what’s going to happen

#again- yeah- getting spoiled can make you feel bummed out #but if your only interest in something was based on the surprise of what happens then maybe you werent that interested in the first place? #same thing with like #learnign about a surprise party in advance doesnt make the party itself less enjoyable #learning about a present someone got you in advance doesnt mean you arent getting a present #learning that your partner is planning to propose in advance doesnt make the proposal less romantic and doesnt change your answer at all #i speak #for a personal example: i recently went to see ghost/busters after/life and i knew from before i walked into the cinema #that eg/on speng/lers ghost was going to show up at some point #like a cgi version not just moving things around #but that didnt mean that i wasnt excited and happy when he did show up? #the thing that i was spoiled for was luke sky/walker showing up in the mandalorian #and yeah it sucked because that would have been a nice surprise moment #but i was still able to watch the finale and enjoy it and be excited when the best boy arrived #does that make sense?
