oh my fucking god i can't believe this has to be said again but
DO NOT FUCKING POST ABOUT PROTESTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA
you could get people KILLED. posting about protests on social media HAS gotten people killed. people posting about the george floyd protests was the MAIN WAY PEOPLE GOT ARRESTED, HARMED, AND KILLED DURING PROTESTS.
don't tell people you are going to a protest. do NOT post about your protesting activities on social media. don't even TAKE your phone to a protest. you put people in REAL DANGER by doing that.

cw: harry potter, jk rowling, transphobia
I occasionally see posts/get messages about the various harry potter references in the bright sessions, etc. and I've gotten a bunch of new followers recently so just so any new/younger listeners of my shows know:
jk rowling is a terrible transphobe whom I hold zero respect for and I haven't given a dime of my money to her since she revealed who she truly is. I want the whole bright universe to be a safe space for trans people (including the trans folks in our cast and crew!) and if I could go back and remove those references, I would. but I can't! harry potter was an extremely significant part of my life until...well, until it became very clear who she really was. it makes me so sad to think that folks might be finding TBS now and get thrown out of the story by these references, but just know that the people who made the show do not stand by jk, and that in many ways, the show is a product of its time.

I love how . . . realistically socially awkward Sonic Wachowski is. Like, the kid spent ten years alone. Of course his social/conversation skills are gonna be rusty and awkward.
His first interactions with Tom in the first movie are proof enough (as well as showing how desperate he was for socialization and friendship). But I'm also going to use a deleted scene to showcase this.
I'm not gonna share screenshots because it was with an early stage of CGI with the old design, which is meh. But the scene itself was so good, so I'll just share bits of the script. (You can find it easily on YouTube if you don't believe me lol.) The beginning is the main part I'm talking about.
*immediately after Sonic was meeting Ozzy for the first time and was getting licked all over his face. Tom walks in and sits on the couch*
Tom: "I wanna talk to you for a second, have a seat."
Sonic: "Okay."
*he sits on the ground*
*Tom stares at him for a second*
Tom: "Up here." *pats the spot next to him*
Sonic: "Right, right right right." *quickly, awkwardly sits on the couch*
Then Tom proceeds to ask him about his "crazy lightning display" on the highway, which was actually a really interesting conversation that better sealed in stone how Sonic's powers are linked with his emotions. But that's maybe for another post.
Tom's asking him to sit down so he could talk to him felt so much like a parent vibe. Even just as an adult to a child.
It's a fairly normal experience for most kids. Sonic? The kid is still learning how relationships with real people work. He doesn't understand social cues at this point and isn't aware of how normal, deeper conversations go. He's not used to close proximity, he hasn't been in a long time. And he's twelve.
Tom asks him to sit with him so they can talk.
And this kid just . . . sits on the floor. As if he really believes that's what Tom was expecting him to do.
I feel like this might speak a little of his trauma issues, too, but I'd need to spend more time analyzing it with other things in order to make a proper post about it.
Idk why that moment just stuck out to me so much. I just really like how accurately he behaves as a kid who spent way too much time in isolation with no interpersonal relationships.

in a related statement: make sure you DO show appreciation for the blogs/characters you like! send them asks, reply to their posts, reblog and gush in the tags. make edits, make art, write ficlets, write posts and tag them/their mods with it!
as long as you're being mindful of not making comparisons to others or putting down others to lift this blog/character up, make sure you're showing the love! it's what keeps askblog mods going! if they didn't want to get some feedback and recognition, they'd just keep the stories in their heads!
people want to know you like the stuff and the work they do if you do like it! and they especially like knowing what you like about it! and if you want to know more about the characters or their stories, send asks asking about it! if you don't know what to ask, look up ask memes! or idk just think of a random question "do you like orange juice?" who knows maybe blorbo from your blogs has some funny or sad story relating to orange juice and you had no idea
