Alrighty, this might be a long shot, but I'm hoping the Willow (2022) fandom can help me out!
I dabble in armorsmithing and I'm currently elbow deep in the concept/patterning stages of a functional (leather, plate, chain and scalemaille) reproduction of the Kymerian Cuirass, but having some trouble getting my grubby hands on enough good-quality reference photos (THANK YOU DISNEY...). If anyone has any detail shots of the Cuirass, I would appreciate anything I can get in terms of references!
Aside from the changes I have needed to make to get it to actually function, like adding straps and more rivets and such, I'd like to keep the design as faithful to the original as possible, because the show means so much to so many of us.
In addition, if anyone has any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them! I'm not a cosplayer by trade, and this is my first foray into reproducing an existing character rather than designing my own kit.
Attached below is an example of the sort of work I usually do. If anyone is willing to help me out, please feel free shoot me a message!
Hello all! Today I’m happy to announce that the Archer Inventive booth will be returning to The Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire this August, with some exciting new additions!
That means you have less than 30 days to snag any of the Limited Edition Items on the online SHOP before they’re packed up and prepped for the festivities.:)
Looking forward to seeing my faire friends again! ^^
Wishing you all a wonderful week, filled with magical moments. :) 💙
On the Brydis the Paladin look - perfect, no notes.
On the Na'rasha look - also perfect, no notes.
That Ginny had to post this... next bit is... not ideal.
If nothing else, it would be great if the world in general could get used to the idea that there is a massive difference between wearing costumes for fun, or even for a small business like a popular YouTube channel inspired by your own role-playing games sessions and say...
A game studio that should be listening to artists and designers over creepy marketing guys and... war crime apologists
A complex, multi-drafted artwork that is carefully crafted explicitly to tell many stories through visual means to the widest possible audiences
The thirty-sixth commercial reinvention of a classic character which is reinventing everything else but the absurd outfits
A pretty good guideline for seeing if this stuff is worth going to be getting back to the creator about was provided by Slovenly Trulls (@slovenlytrulls).
1. Who holds the power?
2. What is the intent?
3. Will anyone be harmed?
Also check out Ginny's stuff, she's pretty awesome.
Also check out the Slovenly Trulls, and send them some sexy elves.
