Sometimes Gregory stays over at the daycare, moreso when he had gotten over his understandable fear or moon. Though he did have to go there before then due to lack of anyone to watch him during the day other then the attendants, he tried to keep a distance from them both. Especially moon, which he could understand.
The real sign that he had gotten over his fear of moon was when Freddy came to pick him up from the daycare to find him being held like a naughty weasel by a very embarrassed moon, who told freddy that his little shit of a child latched on to his back during hide and seek and he had to spend the entire game trying not to cackle like an idiot because the kids don’t know his back is ticklish and he doesn’t want them to find out XD he kept trying to rotate around to pull or wiggle him off and it didn’t work! Gregory was very proud of his assholery and sun wouldn’t help and just pretended not to notice. Freddy himself had to stop from laughing when the naptime attendant presented him his child with a very “look what this little shit did” attitude meanwhile Gregory was just grinning

Moon Out of Tune
At long last, I HAVE DONE IT! POSTING MY REALLY LONG TICKLE FIC!! I was (still am) quite nervous to post this because I’ve never posted a fanfic anywhere before, but a bunch of people were interested in reading this when I mentioned it soooooo here ya go and I hope you like it and stuff /)>////^////<(\ Also, I like having a bit of build-up in tickle fics, so the intense stuff doesn’t happen right at the start, but there’s fun tickly stuff all throughout so it’s fine =u=  As always, I hope you enjoy and I hope this inspires people to make more Sun and Moon things! <3333 (Mostly Moon for me personally) Contains: ler!Sun, lee!Moon, pinning, gang up, verbal and physical teasing, tickling, intense tickling, hypersensitivity, begging (everything sfw!) (I made a few parts quite intense BUT Moon is having fun though so don't worry!)

At the beginning and end of every week, Sun and Moon would be brought to Parts & Services to test their systems to ensure everything was functioning properly. Speech, movement, the unique sensory systems exclusive to both of them, stuff like that. But every so often, there would be an update to one or more of their systems. It was hardly ever anything major, just a simple, slightly more advanced setup/general improvement for anything that was becoming outdated in any system in question. There was a slight improvement in the technology used for their artificial sensory software, and today the both of them were getting it installed.
Sun had just returned from getting the upgrade, just a few minutes before the parents came to drop their kids off at the daycare. A few minutes later, Moon was brought back, and Sun enthusiastically ran over to welcome him back.
"Hey, Moony! Everything went well, I presume? This update feels nice! It's not a huge difference or anything, but it feels a bit lighter, ya know ya know?" He smiled brightly, though his smile dropped a little when he saw the expression on Moon's face. He didn't look upset or anything, he just looked...out of it, a little. "Uhhhhhhhh....Moony? Everything....DID go okay, right...?"
Moon blinked and shook his head. "U-Uhh, ya, ya! O-Of course, everything's fine, just...Ya know, having to get up earlier than usual and all, yeughh..."
"Oh! Hehe, yaaa, I know you're not crazy about that. So!" He started hopping back to join the kids again. "We were just about to-"
"S-Sorry, Sunny, just...do you mind if I rest for a few minutes on the slide over there?"
"A-Ah? Ah! Sure! That's okay! You can join whenever you feel ready!" He smiled, but something still didn't feel right about his friend. Was he really just super tired today?
"Heh, thanks" Moon smiled a somewhat wobbly smile back at Sun, then walked over to the slide to sit on top of it, moving...oddly slowly. His walk was weird too, as if he was stepping on something uncomfortable. The slide looked to be oddly uncomfortable when he went to sit on it too, still moving at a strangely slow pace. Something definitely was going on. But Sunny thought it to be better to leave him alone for a bit before checking in on anything being wrong, so he went back to go play with the kids.
After about ten minutes or so, Sun left the children to play amongst themselves once again while he went to check on his counterpart, who at this point was now resting on his back with his eyes closed.
"Hey, you!" Sunny cheerfully greeted Moon along with a little playful pat to his stomach. "I was juUH-!?"
Moon shrieked and jumped in response to the pat on his stomach which caused Sun to jump in shock as well, followed by Moon slipping off the roof of the slide and falling to the floor.
"Uhh...S-Sorry, Moony! Hehe, I didn't mean to-..." Sun walked around to the other side of the slide where Moon had fallen to, only to find him sitting on his knees and holding his middle tightly while...crying?
"Ah, h-hey!" Sun sat down and crawled closer to Moon. "Moony, are you o...ka...y...?" Upon seeing Moon's face, he paused and blinked a few times. Moon...was not crying. He was giggling. And he seemed to be having a hard time holding it in, too.
"Uuuummmm...Why...are you laughing?"
"Gh-Ghheehee...Hnn..." Moon started to calm down from his giggling, but his face was bright red and his internal fans were whirring with embarrassment. "I...can't stop feeling it...g-khh..."
"Wha...Huh? Can't...stop feeling what?" Sun blinked.
"Everything...tickles..."
Sun went completely silent for a good few moments, still blinking and trying to process everything while his faceplate slowly started turning in confusion. "....Come again?"
Moon blushed deeper and slowly looked at Sun. "The new upgrade...Everything...tickles...Even just me holding myself and sitting on the floor! I mean, that doesn't really affect me for too long, but only because I'm not moving! Everything, even just walking and feeling my clothes on myself...even pain! You know the little prick they give us to test if our sensation is working properly?....I had to tough it through all the tests down there to act like I was feeling everything normally!"
Sun almost couldn't believe what he was hearing. Nothing like this had EVER happened to either of them before. He knew this was purely a glitch since he'd just been given the exact same update as Moon had, so rather than being freaked out by what was going on and thinking his brother was broken, he actually found it quite amusing and cute. He was about to laugh at the whole situation before quickly stopping himself with a cough. "AhehEM! W-Wow! Ha...W-Why didn't you just say something to them instead of faking your way through the test, though?"
"Are you NUTS!? That would have been beyond embarrassing if I had told them or I just suddenly started laughing my ass off at everything!"
"M...Mm, mhmm, th-thaHAT's true" Sun responded, unable to entirely contain his amusement anymore.
Moon blushed even deeper and puffed his cheeks. "I-IT'S NOT FUNNY!"
"I-hihiHIT kind of iHIS, thohohough!" Sun covered his mouth and laughed.
"N-No it's no-AHAHAHA!!!" Moon burst out laughing as he suddenly felt fingers wiggling against his side, causing him to jump back and flop sideways onto the floor, letting out a shriek of more laughter as he hit it.
Sun laughed again and smirked. "HAHA! See? You clearly think it's funny too~" Moon was already incredibly ticklish, just as Sun was, but he generally would squeal and try to hold his laughter in whenever he got tickled, then end up bursting with uncontrollable laughter when he couldn't hold it any longer. But now, just brief and light tickling against his side made him burst instantly. It seemed that now that tickling was all he felt, actually being tickled had become even more intense than it usually was. Sun now had the ability to create tickle-combos to attack Moon just by tickling him into colliding with something nearby, and Sun was beyond excited about this.
"Ugh, just help me u-....Nevermind" Moon kept his gaze away from Sun as he blushed fiercely, pulling himself up at a normal pace to try and get accustomed to these troublesome sensations, only for him to squeak and shiver as he got back on his feet.
"Eheh~"
"Shut up"
"Mkay....eheh~"
Moon sighed, pulling his nightcap down over his face a little. "S-So what are the kids doing?"
"Tis art time!"
"Ahh, okay..." Moon felt a bit nervous at the sound of that, considering how art time sometimes tended to go, but decided to give it his best effort. He started walking over to the group as normally as he could while holding his arms behind his head comfortably. Or well, he was trying to feel comfortable. "May as well attempt to get involved."
And get involved he did.
Though after a mere few minutes, he wished he hadn't.
"S-SuuUUUnnNNnyy-YYYYyy!"
"WhaaAAAaaAAtt iiIIissSSs iiIIiIIIttTTt?"
Moon stared at him, unamused. "I think-GHH-HHNHNN!!"
He suddenly felt a sticker get pressed against his arm, causing him to jump and giggle loudly in alarm. He had only been with the kids for ten minutes, and already he had paint, stickers and glitter glue on several different areas of his body, as well as the start of a drawing on his side which he obviously immediately kept from being finished. Every one of these things was met with a held back shriek, giggle or squeal and a bunch of jumping and wriggling. Stuff like this was obviously still quite ticklish for him normally, but with this hypersensitivity he was having to withstand today, it was taking everything in him not to fall backwards into a hysterical gigglefit just from the sensation of a single sticker. And Moon had had enough.
"Yyyyeeeeeesss~?" Sun asked quizzically with a smile, clearly amused at Moon's situation.
"I-I'm gonna lose my mind if I stay here"
---------------------------------------------------
Moon was now back beside the slide, not bothering to sit on top of it this time. With difficulty, he had managed to remove as many stickers and messes on him as he could, and was now back to just resting.
"Hai~"
"GHUHH!!!" Moon jumped back in alarm to see Sun smiling down at him, letting out a small squeal after his utterance of shock from the sensations caused by him jumping.
"CAN YOU PLEASE NOT DO THAT!??"
"Awww, you're no fuuuun, pttthhhh" He crouched down to pat Moon on the head a few times.
"GHYAHEE-NO!!"
"PTTTTHHHHHHHH!" Sun puffed his cheeks.
Moon sighed. "Yes, Sunny? For what purpose do I have the pleasure of seeing you here?"
Sun giggled. "The kids...wanted to play something!"
"...And?"
"AAAaaand....I wanted to ask your permission!"
"Uhhh...sure? I don't know why you're asking me. It's called Daycare, you’re more in charge than I am. Let em do what they want."
"Nyeeheeeee~" Sun giggled and smiled widely. "Hey, guys!" Sun turned to yell over at the group of kids. "Moony wants to play tickle tag with you!"
Moon's face shifted into utter shock and horror, his fans whirring faster as his face turned bright red before he glared at his brother sharply. "What the f-...S-S-SSS-SSS....S-SuuUNNYWHATAREYOUDOING!?" He pushed himself up onto his bum and started inching his way backwards, shivering at the sensation of the floor underneath him.
"Weeeellllll they love this game! Kids love playing things they love, after all!" Sun smiled widely back at Moon, seemingly innocently, but he certainly wasn't being innocent. From the kid's perspective, or really almost anyone, Sun was very sweet and playful and would never do anything without permission or consent. But with Moon?....That was an entirely different story...
"Come on, guys! Don't let him get away! Tickle 'im to death!!"
The children started to run over, some of them already wiggling their fingers at him in preparation to drive him mad.
"Ghk-GHAHA!!??" Moon jumped up in alarm and quickly started running for his life, a big group of kids running after him. If he had run with this much intent to escape normally, the kids would never be able to catch up to him. But now, there was just one problem...the floor. Every time a foot pressed down into the ground, Moon felt like there were tons of quick vibrations rubbing up against his feet, and it caused him to squeal and shriek every time one of his feet hit the floor. He couldn't do it! He could only go so far before he had to start slowing down.
"SUNNYHYY!! IIIIHI'LL KIIHIHILLL YOOHOHOOU!!!"
Sun laughed and clapped at this spectacle, knowing Moon was already going nuts just from running. "HAHAHA!! YOU'RE DOING GREAT, MOONCAKE!! YOU BETTER PICK UP THE PACE THOUGH OR THEY'RE GONNA COMPLETELY WRECK YOU!!"
Moon blushed at the subtle teasing he was getting from Sun. He wasn't sure how much longer he could keep this up. But up ahead, he saw his solution. His wire! If he could make it to that wire, he could pull himself up to the ceiling and have nothing but his clothes touching him! "HA! YOU'LL NE-EHEHEVER CATCH M-EEE NOHOW!!" Moon exclaimed confidently as he neared his ticket to escape. He was going to make it-
"GYAHYEEEHAHA!!!" Moon shrieked as one of the boys jumped and latched onto his torso, digging their fingers into his sides as they grasped on tightly.
"AHYEEEEHEEEEHYAAHAHAHAAA!!! D-D-DOHOHOOOOOHOON'T!!!" The boy slipped off and returned to chasing him, but the phantom sensations of being latched onto tingled Moon's body over every inch of him the child had come in contact with. That was a heavy blow. He tried to continue running, reaching out for the wire in desperation before he squealed and gasped, abruptly coming to a halt as a group of children ran at him from up ahead, clearly having planned to cut him off.
Moon looked behind him and in front of him in horror, being completely blocked off on both sides. They'd cornered him, and were now slowing down as they neared him with teasingly wiggling fingers.
"H-H-Haa, aahahaa..." He held up both hands in protest as he giggled nervously, his face flushing deeply. "W-WWW-Wait, wait! P-Please don-"
"GET 'IM!!" Sun yelled out excitedly. Moon jumped, glaring at him briefly in horror before shrieking loudly as tons of kids jumped on him and tackled him to the floor.
"EEEE-GYAAAAAAAAAAAA-AAAAAAAA-AHAHAHHAAHHAAHHAAAAAA~!!!! STOP IT STOP IT STOHOHOHHOOOOHOOOOP IIIIIHHIHIIIT!!!" Moon burst into loud hysterical laughter as the group of children started tickling almost every inch of him, some of them sitting on his legs and pinning his arms up above his head so he couldn't get away.
"PLEHEHEEEHEEEEEEEEEEAAASSSE!!!! AHH-AAAHHHAAAAAA~AAAAAAAAAHHAAA!!! STOHOHOOOOP IHIITT STOP IT!!! NAAA-HHAAAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA~!!! IT TICKLES!!! IT TIHICKLES IT TIHIHIICKLES TOO MUHUHUUCH I CAHAHAAA-AAAAHAAAN'T TAHAAAKE IHIHIIIHIIITT STYAAAAAAAA-AAHAHAHEEEEEHYAAAAHHAAAAAA~!!!!" It was absolutely unbearable. The palms of their hands moving over him as they shifted from one place to another, the movement of both his and their clothing against him, even the floor as he squirmed uncontrollably on top of it. Every single sensation was causing him to feel ticklish, and all that paired with actual tickling from a big group of kids, it was already driving him mad. However, despite all that, he somehow didn't hate it. Sun was the one who was very open about loving affection and attention, while Moon always stayed back and acted a lot more reserved. Though truthfully, he was overjoyed whenever he was given attention and affection, and he often got to points where he deeply craved it because he never said anything due to being to embarrassed. Tons of people working together to tickle him senseless was a perfect match for both those things, and being extremely sensitive to tickling certainly didn't keep him from enjoying the sensation of it. There was no way he would ever tell anyone that, though!
Well, he didn't really have to. He and Sun spent a lot of their free time just having tickle fights because it was simply in their coding to be playful in that sort of way, so everyone was already fully aware of it. However, nobody was more aware of it than Sun was.
"S-S-SSSSSUHUUHUUUUUUUNNYHYHYYYY YOU JEHEHEHEEEERK!!!! GYAAAHAHAAA~!!! HEHEHEEELP MEHEHEHEEEEEEEE~!!!!"
Sun perked up from peacefully enjoying the action from a distance, laughing and shaking his head. "Tsk, tsk! Now that's not very nice, is it?" He walked over and crouched next to Moon, looking down at him with a slightly mischievous glint in his eyes.
"H-HE-HEHEHEHEEEEELP ME SUNNYYYYHHYHYHYYYYYY PLEHEHEHEEEEEASE!!! EHEHEEEEVERYTHING TICKLES EVERYTHHIHIHIIING TIHIIICKKKLLLHLHLHLHLHLLLES~!!!! I CAHAHAAN'T TAHAKE ANYHYHYHYMOOOHOHOOOORE!!!!"
"Hmmmmm...." Sun stood up again and walked beside the group while looking down at his helpless friend, then plopping himself down beside Moon's legs.
"S-S-SSSUHUUUNNYHYHYHYYYY!!!???" Moon looked down at him, feeling his stomach drop as Sun motioned at the child sitting on Moon's legs to get off, then grabbed his legs tightly under one arm and lifted them up a bit before slowly removing his shoes, making sure to rub the shoes against his feet to take advantage of the fact that currently the only sensation Moon could feel was tickling.
"EEE-AHYEE~AAAHAAAHHAAAAAA~!!!! S-SUHUHUUNNNY PLEHEHEASE NO!!!!"
"Nuh-uh-uuuuhhh, Mooncaaake~! It's not nice to call your best friend in the whole wide world a jerk, now is it~?" He smirked back at Moon, who was blushing like mad from knowing he couldn't stop what was coming. "Hey guys, come over here~! This is one of Moony's faaaavorite places to get tickled~~"
"S-SUNNY NOHO!!! NO!!! NO-UAAAA-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHAAAAAAAAAA~!!!!!" Moon screamed at the top of his lungs as he felt a few kids move over and start scribbling and scratching at the soles of his feet while Sun gripped his legs tightly. He became absolutely hysterical without any ability to contain himself whatsoever. He shrieked and squirmed, causing him to shriek and squirm more, causing him to shriek and squirm more....He thought he was going to go completely out of his mind and end up feeling like he was being tickled constantly for the rest of his life if this kept up. Literally everything he felt was just varying intensities of tickling, even his frantic attempts to pull his arms down and defend himself or pull his legs back were working against him. He shook his head back and forth in desperation as every inch of him was attacked ruthlessly, all while this glitched upgrade was giving him a sensitivity boost, and he was now tearing up from how hard he was laughing.
"IHIHIHIHIIII'M SHYOHOHOOOHOOORRYYYHYHYYYY!!!!! I'M GHHHKKK-AAAAAAAHHYAHYAHYAAAAHAHAHYAAAAHHAAAAA SYAAAAHAHAHAHAAARRYYYYYHYYYY SUHUHUUUNNYYYHYHYYY-EEEEYAAAAAAAAAA-HHAAAAAAAAA~ NOOOOHOHOHOHHYYYOOOOOO~!!!!" His attempt to apologize was suddenly interrupted by fingers scribbling across the balls of his feet and even more fingers scuttling on top and behind his knees.
Sun giggled and looked back at Moon who was in a frantic mess as he was completely overwhelmed by the tickle attack, blushing slightly at how adorable he was when brought to a point where he couldn't play the "tough guy" role anymore. "Ohhh but Mooncake, you were very naughty to say such a thing to me, and you know better than anyone that if someone's been naughty they must be punished, riiii~ght?" He gave his brother a somewhat sinister grin, making Moon squeal and whine loudly in embarrassment as he blushed even deeper. Then all of a sudden, Moon's eyes shot wide open as he felt Sun grip his toes tightly to keep him from being able to curl them. Moon looked down as he heard Sun say something he couldn't make out to the kids at his feet, then suddenly he threw his head back and started cackling like mad as all the previously wiggling fingers were now scratching and zoning in on the balls of his feet and under his toes, even going in between his toes as much as they could with Sun holding onto them.
"This area here is Moony's biiiiiggest weak spot~!" Sun spoke gleefully, looking back at Moon with a grin. "Isn't that right, Moonycake~? Though, I suppose now pretty much every inch of you is a "biggest weak spot", isn't it~?"
"GHKKAAHHYEEEHYAAAHAAA-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHAAAAAAAHYAA GHAAHAHAAAAHNNN~!!!! S-PHHNAAAAAAAHHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! NYOOO-HOOHHOHOHOOOOT THYEHEEERE NOT THYEEEEEEHEHHEHAHAHARRE!!!! SSSSGHHHYAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHAHAHAAAHHAAAAAAAP EEEEEHEHEEEEEEETTTTT-GHHHHKGHHH-HYAAAAAAAHYEEEEEEHYEEEE AHAAHHHAAAAAHAHAHHAAAAAAAA~AAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! SSSHHHHUHUHUHHHUUUUNNNNNHNHNHYYYHYHYAAHHHAAAAAA SYAAAAHAHAHAAAAAAAHAAAA~AAAAPPPP-HHHHH~GHHHYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~AAAAAAAAAHHAHAHAHAAAAHHHHHH~!!!!!!" Moon was hardly even able to speak anymore, everything coming out slurred and being more laughter than speech. His fans were whirring like crazy as he blushed, and tears fell from his eyes from laughing so hard. He continued to try and squirm and escape in desperation, but despite that the more they tickled the more desperate he was to get away, the more the tickling was weakening him and making it increasingly difficult for him to move. Despite everything, though, Sun didn't tell the children to stop, because he could tell his moon-themed counterpart was having the time of his life.
"Dawww, heehee~ Ya having fun, Moonycake?" Sunny giggled.
"GH-KHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~AAAAAAAAAHHHAHAHAAAAAA~!!!! SH-SHYAHAHAHHAHAHHUUUT UHUHUHHAHAAAAAP SYUHUHUHHHAHAHAAANNYYYHYHYYYEEEEEE~!!!!!" Moon blushed deeper as he continued to shriek and attempt to pull at his limbs, frantically trying to defend himself.
"Waha! Did you just tell me to shut up, Moony?" Sun laughed, his grin widening at the nervous squeal Moon made in response.
"Hmmhmmm~ Hey, hey! Can a couple of you go get the box of art supplies I put out earlier?"
Moon's eyes shot open as he yelped in alarm. He knew exactly what Sun was doing. "NYOOOOOOOOOOHOHOOHOONONONONONONOOOOHOONOOOOOOOHYOOOHOHOHOOO~!!!! PLEHEHEEEEEAAAHEEEEAAASSSSSEE IHIHIHIII'M BEHEHEEGGING YOHOHOHOOUU NOHOHOOOO!!!! I CAHAHAAAAN'T TAKE ANYMOHOORE I CAN'T TAHAHAHAKE ANYHYMOHHOHOHOOOORE!!! IT TICKLES TOO MUHUHUUUCH IT TIHIHIHIIICKLES TOO MUHHUUHHUHHUUUCH NO NO NO NYOOOOOOHHHYOOOOHOHOOHOHOOOOOHHHAAAAAAHAHAHAAAAHYAAAAAAA~!!!!!"
---------------------------------------------------
After a little over an hour, the children had all gone to play elsewhere after Sun finally told them all to let his brother rest. Moon lay on his back panting, his body covered in strokes of paint, stickers and drawings. He had managed to pull his arms down to rest them next to either side of his head and bring his legs up a little, but for the most part he was too exhausted to even cover himself after everything, leaving him to have to endure the sensations of phantom tickling that were buzzing all over him. His hysterical laughter had now trailed off into uncontrollable giggling as his body slowly calmed down from everything, though the phantom tickling made it take longer.
Sun crawled over and lay on his stomach beside Moon, elbows resting on the floor and his head resting in his hands, swaying his legs back and forth happily with a big smile on his face. "Didja have fun, Moony? I bet you did~ Heehee...You look cute when you're all helpless and laughing hysterically like that~" Sun giggled and gently stroked a finger against the side of Moon's belly, causing him to shriek as his body trembled.
"HYYIIGYEEHA!! S-S-SSStooOOooHOHOOoop IIIIhihiiIIIT~!" He laughed a little before groaning and panting again, bright blush covering his face. He opened his eyes and looked up at his friend, blushing even deeper at the expression Sun was making and quickly looking away, getting feelings of butterflies in his stomach from embarrassment which just caused him to giggle more. "Sh-Shuhut UHUp! I-I dihin't enjoy anyhy of ihit! And I DIHIDN'T LOOK C-CUHUTE!!" He tried to put on a serious face, but it kept morphing back into a smile from being unable to keep his giggling in. But Sun was right, Moon truly did enjoy it. He'd always loved being tickled, but he'd never been tickled so intensely before, regardless of all the tickling the update of his sensors had caused. It all made him feel extremely happy. He had a feeling that after how much fun they'd just had and when his sensors were fixed, Sun was going to be tickling him a lot more often, probably with a lot more intensity as well, and Moon was excited and overjoyed about that. He would never ever admit to that, though-
"Come ooooon, Moonyyyy~ Admiiiiit iiiit~ You like being tickllllled~" Sun teased, his cheeks flushing a little.
"Gh-HII!?? I-IHIHI do noHOhoot-!" Moon cut himself off abruptly with a little squeak as his fans started whirring again from blushing, trembling as he watched Sun start crawling his hand on the floor like a spider towards Moon's side. "W-W-WWWWWaaAAIT! S-Su-huuHUnnyyy, please! I cahan't move-EEHYEEEK!!" Moon's uncontrollable giggling intensified as Sun's fingers slowly spidered up his side and crawled around on his tummy. He kept squealing from not only what Sun was doing, but also from his laughter causing his body to move and rub against the floor, which of course was tickling him as well. He kept snorting from trying to hold his gigglefitting in, but he wasn't able to keep himself from letting it out for very long.
"G-GyaaAAAaaAAA-HYAA-HHHhhhhHHNNN!!! SuuUhuHUUHUUunnYYYHYYYYY~!! StoooOOOP iiIIIIHIiit~!!" He pleaded in a whiny voice as he continued giggling, however it was pretty obvious he was enjoying this too.
"Come ooo-ooooon~ I can't stop until you admit it, ya knoooow! And alsoooo..." He crawled his fingers over to one of the stickers that Moon had had to suffer being attacked with. "It would be rather rude and unprofessional of me to hand you over to the cleaning staff without helping at least a little with all this, wouldn't it?" He looked directly into Moon's eyes with an evil glint in them as he smiled innocently.
"GHYEEeeHEE!!?? N-NOOooHOO!! SunnyHY ple-EEA-EEYEEEHEEEHYAAA!!!" Moon was interrupted at the light, ticklish scratching he was feeling from Sun working at removing the sticker, letting out a squeal and a short burst of laughter as it was abruptly peeled off from him.
"Mmm, you sure are stubborn, aren'tcha? I bet I can tickle that answer out of you though~~" Sun chuckled evilly. "Alrighty!....One down~"
Moon felt his stomach drop and he blushed deeply, still too weak to be able to move. "W-Wait!! S-SSSunny!! Sunny plea-EEEEEEEEHYEEHEEEEHEEEEEE~HAAAAA!!! SUHUHUUUNYHYHYYY PLEHEHEEEASE NO MORE NO MOHOHOOORE IT TIHIIICKLESSS!!! IT TICKLES IT TIHIHIIICKLES-GYAAAAA-AAAAAAAAAAHHHAAAAA DOHON'T TIHICKLE AND CLEAN ME AT THE SAHAHAAME TIHIHIIIME!!!! ---------------------------------------------------
It was early the next day, and Moon had just entered the daycare, stretching his arms and yawning. After the daycare had closed the day before, he had been brought down to Parts & Services to be cleaned. Upon seeing him completely lose it and get even more hysterical with his shrieking and laughing than he usually did during cleaning, the workers ended up bringing a very flustered Moon to the main service room to figure out what in the world had happened to his sensors. Today he was feeling like his normal self again, plunking himself down on the floor with no sensitivity issues as he waited for both the children and Sun to arrive.
"Oh! Heyyy!" A few minutes later, Sun entered the daycare as well, waving to Moon as he waved back. A simple wave with no stilted or nervous movements. Moon was clearly back to his normal self again. Sun smiled, then walked over to him and sat down.
"So uhh...I was asleep when you got back, what did they say?" Sun tilted his head to the side.
"Well...this new update apparently causes some animatronics to have a brief issue with over-sensitivity. Sometimes every sensation gets boosted, sometimes they feel achy everywhere, and sometimes...well, like what happened to me." Moon looked away for a moment and blushed slightly. "A-Anyway, it's not a serious glitch or anything. And it doesn't always happen, but when it does it just depends on how...s-sensitive...the animatronic is set to be, and what sensations are considered "prioritized" based on the other settings they have. We work with kids, so..."
"Hooohhh, I see! Ah, you're better now though, it seems!" Sun perked up, smiling.
"Yep! They said it usually lasts about a day. It went away just before I went to bed last night, so that was convenient! I was worried about how I was going to get under the blanket without slapping you awake" He blushed lightly again and giggled in slight embarrassment. "Ah, right! You were gone when I woke up! Did you go back down to Parts & Services as well?"
Sun's smile changed from gleeful to nervous, his face starting to flush a little. "Ah, ahaha...Y-YYYa, I did..."
Moon blinked and tilted his head. "And...?"
"And...theydidn'tupdatemecorrectly"
Moon blinked again. After a moment, all embarrassment he was feeling left him, and he gave his little sun friend a teasing grin. He had a feeling he knew what was going on. "Could you repeat that for me, darling~?"
Sun blushed brightly and huffed a little, turning his head away. "Ghh...Th-They...Yesterday, after they updated you and then I went in for them to update me..." He blushed deeper, his mouth wobbling a little in embarrassment. "...They didn't...update me...correctly....They realized they didn't input something exactly how they were supposed to, so they brought me down to fix everything."
Moon stayed quiet for a few seconds, now sitting still with a blank look on his face, then gave Sun's arm a light smack.
"PffAHHAA-!!!" Sun jumped back and slammed his hands over his mouth, his eyes wide as he stared at Moon, now having turned bright red and looking extremely embarrassed.
Moon snorted and then burst out laughing. "KHAHAHA!! Well well, it looks like justice is being served, isn't it~?"
"M-Moony, I know what you're thinking! B-B-But please, hear me out, I di-GYAAHHAA-AHHAAAA!!! GH-NAAAAAAAAAA~AAAAAHHAHAHAHHAAAA NYOHHOOO MOOHOOHOON STOHOHOOOP IIIIIIIIIHHIT~!!!!" Moon tackled Sun to the ground, hearing him laugh both from the tackle and the sensation of hitting the floor before bursting into hysterical laughter as Moon began tickling him.
"Hmm~? What's gotten into you, getting hysterical this quickly? It couldn't possibly be that you're feeling like you're getting tickled by more than one person on several different parts of your body all at once, could it?" Moon grinned evilly.
Sun already felt like he was going to go crazy. THIS was what Moon had been feeling that whole time!? And on top of how ticklish Moon was to begin with, as well...
"M-MOOOOOOOOOHHOOOHOHOOHOOOOOON~!!! I'M SORRY I'M SORRY IHIHI'M SOHOHOOORRYYYYYYHYHYHYEHEHAAHAHAHAHAAAA~!!! STAAAAAAAHHAHAHAAAA~P!!! IT TIIHIHIICKLES IT TIHIHICKLES IT TIIIHIHIHIIIIHIIICKLLLHLHLHLLLESSS PLEHEHEEEASSSE SSTYAAAAA~HHAAAAAP!!!!"
Moon chuckled before coming to a stop, very carefully helping Sun up just before the doors to the daycare were opened and children came scurrying in. One of the children ran up to Moon and gave him a hug, then jumped to Sun and gave him a hug as well, causing him to make a strange snorty noise and nearly fall over. He slammed his hand over his mouth again and grabbed at Moon's shoulder for support, letting a small muffled squeal simply from making those movements. Sun had no idea that what Moon had gone through was this intense!
Moon laughed a little as the child that had hugged them ran off to play, then turned to look at his friend.
"Hey, Sunny, why don't you take the day off? There are other attendants working here so it's not like I'll suffocate" He giggled.
"Wh-Wha!? I....Mmm...eheheh, to be honest...I was kind of wondering how I was gonna last! Maybe...just this once, I'll take a break...So long as you're okay with it!"
Moon smiled and nodded.
"FUFF!! Okay...Th-Thank you, Moony" Sun giggled and blushed a little, gently rubbing the back of his head, shivering a little from the sensation.
"Hehe, well...not to sound like I don't care about you, because...well, I really do..." Moon blushed a little before continuing, getting close to Sun's face and smirking devilishly. "But you shouldn't thank me yet, I'm only telling you to take a break so I can destroy you myself later~" Sun's eyes went wide and his face became completely red, quickly holding his arms over himself before squealing and laughing at his own touch, causing him to nearly fall over again.
Moon snorted and laughed at Sun's forgetfulness to try and be careful with any movement he made. "Ahahalright, alright! You go back upstairs and get any rest that you...may or may not need~" He smirked as he started walking away.
Sun continued blushing, but regained his composure and looked over at Moon, a small grin emerging on his face. "Watch out for any kids getting close to you, especially during craft time~"
Moon stopped in his tracks and looked back at Sun, colour coming back into his cheeks as he frowned in embarrassment. "Sh-Shut up Sunny..."

CHAPTER 2
A/N: Typically I write Sun and Moon as found, but not biological family because they’re pretty much completely the same build in the usual FNAF universe, just with different personalities. But since it’s impossible for them to be related in this AU, given they’re completely different species from completely different habitats, I uh. Decided to write some minor shipping. This is a part two to the original fic I wrote where Mermoon gets tickled by remora fish.
Summary: Moon tries to tickle himself post remora-incident after swimming past seaweed and discovering that it too, tickled, but accidentally completely tangles himself. Sun, his friend visiting from a much warmer climate, decides to help him out. For a small price.
Content: Lee!Mermoon, Ler!Mersun, Ler!Seaweed??? + My version of the FNAF Merfolk AU for Mer-May. More lore and more characterization.
Trigger warnings: Thalassophobia havers be wary /gen Also, I’m editing this because there is, in fact, some minor family drama described that might be triggering.
---------------------------------------0--------------0-------------------------------------
Moon would never admit it. He’s a shark of all things. He had never stayed with his family for too long, but they had always told him that sharkfolk are not meant to be openly kind — that was left up to the rays or whales. Or to use any sort of charm to get by; that was the trademark of the tropical merfolk in southern, warm waters that lived among the bright coral reefs and considered themselves rare and valuable, passing off glimpses of themselves to landwalkers and smugly watching them light up and scramble for cameras, lights, pens, anything to document what they had just seen.
But he was born of hunters. There was a reason for the blood rumor, a reason for the widespread fear of feral sharks and sharkfolk alike. Once every so often, one of them will be peer-pressured into dragging a surfer or a scuba-diver down below to mutilate them and leave a message for the rest of both kinds alike.
And yet he had never felt a need to do this — perhaps because he was too young yet to be introduced into any of the typical social circles. Or perhaps because he was too different — ‘different’ folk were punished in the ocean. You must be made to fit in, or you must stay on your lonesome; hence why he had insisted to himself on moving to a separate part of the ocean away from his parents at such a vulnerable age. He could remember countless lectures, hunting trips, and confrontations about how he must fit in, all while he would rather have been sleeping the amber afternoon away on a warm current.
Now here he was. Experimenting with a feeling that his parents would surely have lectured him for, back when he was a pup. The soft seaweed dangling upwards, it gave him likewise the same feeling as when the remora, — some of which were still attached to his back, — had nibbled at his scales once before. Hesitantly, he reached his hand into the weeds, feeling almost shameful for how silly this whole situation was, when the feeling sprouted again, buzzing in his palm as the plants clung to his scales and wriggled like worms in the current around them. He couldn’t help humming giggles behind his shut mouth, and with a fair amount of apprehension with the only thing goading him on being his unending curiosity and the joy the feeling struck within him, he pushed himself through the water into them. And happiness, accompanying a tingling, ticklish, patchy feeling emitted through his whole body. “MmmmHMMMHHMMHM! Ahehahahah! N-neheheh! Mmmhmhmf!” His squirming only made the sensations worse. They were only plants, but they tickled! All across his tail and torso, and his sides; a few even brushed along his neck and earned a couple squeaks, and one squeal.
But then he heard laughter that was not his own, and he whipped around to see what or who it was, tangling himself in the weeds. “Need some help there?”  “I’m fine, Sun,” he said, feeling defensive very suddenly. “Oh, okay, okay.” He flipped himself around to float more comfortably. “I mean, you did look like you were enjoying yourself.” He teased, earning a brief, shocked expression from the shark held back only by tangled weeds. “Wh- no- I mean…” Moon trailed off, before realizing that he was really, truly stuck in the verdure that he was sure would seal his fate if he did not ask for help.
“Fine, I’ll explain. Just get me outta here.”
Sun giggled to himself, threading his nimble fingers between the tangled, taut flora and his friend, unwinding it with care and humming as he did so. Moon’s eyes met with his, only intended as a way to silently tell him to hurry up, as the squirming flora still tickled at his tail, and he was quite embarrassed about it. “No need to get so flustered, Moony. It’ll untangle when it feels like it, I’m just helping the process along.” His short talons grazed Moon as he slowly worked at the plants, tracing along the slick grain of his scales as he moved down to the next loop of seaweed knotted in with the fins along his forearm, rubbing his thumb along the back of Moon’s palm just after doing so. He was taking his time — Moon could see it clearly, and he gritted his fangs, refusing to make eye contact any further all because of his own embarrassment.
Seafolk had always known the lives of landwalkers were much different than their own. To them, kindness was a virtue, not a weakness. Favors done for nothing in return facilitated friendships.
But in the wild, it is well-known that favors must be exchanged for favors, or else there is no symbiosis — no true consideration for one another.
And especially true was that one was not to socialize outside of their typical circles. A goldfish and a shark certainly fell into this category. Moon could remember the evening clearly when they had met, and ever since, he was unsure how he was meant to treat this new relationship. As a friend? As a rival, someone to compete with, but ultimately respect? As…
No. Merfolk from the warmer climates were always known to be charmers. This too, was common knowledge, even in the deep and cold waters that Moon hailed from; although he could not figure out exactly what it was that Sun wanted from him.
Pulling his tail out from the weeds forcefully to interrupt any thoughts the other might have about untangling his tail himself, he sighed, doing his best to pretend as though he were not affected by the charm, even if he very much was. “So?” “So- oh, right.”
Sun’s eyes sparkled and he leaned his head on his hands, idly waving his tail as Moon began to explain, hardly able to stay there. “... I don’t really know what that feeling was? I, um... it felt nice, I guess. And I felt it again, when I swam past it-” Moon was cut off by a snicker. “You tangled yourself up on purpose, then?” “Don’t mock me,” he scowled, crossing his arms and holding them close to his body. “Did your parents never tickle you as a pup?” “... Tickle?” “Ohh, my.”
Sun’s face contorted into a strange mix of amusement and concern, swimming closer which only led Moon to lean away, bringing even his tail closer to himself. “What are you doing?” “Making you laugh.” Sun smiled, placing his dull claws on Moon’s sides, below where his crossed arms blocked his skin off, and began to tap up and down. “MmmHMMF!” Moon curled in on himself like a shrimp, although it did nothing to protect him from Sun’s devious hands. “St-stohohop… I’m warning you, cut it o- oouuuhuhut!” “And if I don’t?” Queried Sun, wiggling his way past Moon’s defenses to tickle his soft belly. “AHEHE!” The shark suddenly squeaked out with ticklish delight. “Ooh, sensitive spot, huh? You’re so squishy and soft here on your belly. It’s pretty cute,” Sun mused, working in his other hand to knead just behind the edges where the white coloration ended. “ST-Staaahahahawp! I’ll- HEHEH! N-no, cut it ouhuhuhut, cut it out!” Moon managed to snap his jaws at Sun threateningly, and the other smiled all the same, playfully tutting at him. “Oh me, oh my. How rude.”
Without a bit of care, Sun flipped his friend over onto his back in the water, causing him to go all but limp aside from his squirming tail and twitching fingers, and gently unfurled him, smoothing him out like a wrinkled sheet of paper before spidering his fingers down the length of his white tummy. “Tickle, tickle~ What a sensitive little shark you are, hm?”
Sun’s teasing voice dripped like warm honey in the ocean currents; comforting and sweet, but embarrassing nonetheless. For Moon, being so vulnerable was one thing. For that vulnerability to be used for an affectionate attack of all things; it was new, it was fun, and it felt wonderful. Any bit of paranoia he had washed away and was replaced with a feeling of trust.
The goldfish’s claws swept up his chest to his neck, tickling the crook in the side of his nape with one of his hands and stirred helpless giggles that sounded so much more innocent than Moon had ever presented himself to be, while the other began to count his ribs from the bottom up. “Does this tickle, too? Oh, I bet it does~! Just look at you, smiling and laughing up a storm.” His fingers slowly came to a stop, and he leaned closer, taking in the look of Moon’s dorky smile, the sound of his leftover giggles escaping.
“This is a much better look on you,” he whispered, partially wrapping his caudal fin along the side of the other’s tail, rubbing the phantom tingles away from his tummy. “You need to smile more often.” “Ehh-heh. Ehehe… Says you,” he retorted, still mostly breathless. “Touche,” admitted the brighter one, finally pulling away from his shark friend and righting him so he could properly. There was naught but the sound of the currents flowing around them, only interrupted a few long moments afterwards by Moon. “... So that’s what it’s meant to be?” He asked, a bit of vulnerability still showing in his voice, and Sun nodded. “Sorry you had to miss out on it all that time,” he apologized truly. “It really is quite pleasant.”
Moon let off a huff. “It’s fine. You know, I guess they’re right.” “Right about what?” “That you people are charmers.”

But when a bout of rage leads to his sudden death, Shen Yuan is reborn into the world of the novel in the body of Shen Qingqiu--the beautiful but cruel teacher of a young Luo Binghe. While Shen Qingqiu may have the incredible power of a cultivator, he is destined to be horrifically punished for crimes against the protagonist.
The new Shen Qingqiu now has only one course of action: get into Luo Binghe's good graces before the young man's rise to power or suffer the awful fate of a true scum villain!

The Haunting Season: Ghostly Tales for Long Winter Nights - 5/5 stars
Again, bought this solely for Natasha Pulley's story, The Eel Singers, which is about Thaniel and Mori from The Watchmaker of Filigree Street. It's set between Watchmaker and The Lost Future of Pepperharrow. I loved it, obviously. The rest of the stories were also really good—a few of them were genuinely really disturbing.
Teacher of the Year by MA Wardell - 3.75/5 stars
This is the first book in Wardell's Teachers in Love series (the second being Mistletoe & Mishigas, which I read last week). I didn't like this one as much, though tbh I'm chalking that up to the fact that it's Wardell's first novel. He uses some very strange descriptors sometimes that really throw me off ('matte' was used once to describe dialogue, which I still can't really make sense of). I also got kind of frustrated with Marvin's freakouts over Olan's alcoholism—not really the fact that they happened, but just like...the pacing of them, I guess? After it happened once, it didn't really feel like there was any escalation of that conflict, just sort of the same conflict happening repeatedly.
That said, I did like the book! The characters are all great, and I really loved how Marvin has to take responsibility for how he can't move on from how his mother's alcoholism affected him, and how he's actually quite unfair to his mother and Olan when they both take recovery incredibly seriously. There was a nuance to that that felt really refreshing.
Fallow by Jordan L Hawk - 4.5/5 stars
Dragon Teeth by Michael Crichton - 3.5/5 stars
Only the Brightest Stars by Andrew Grey - 3.25/5 stars
Beautiful Undone by Melissa Polk - 3.5/5 stars
Fake Dates and Mooncakes by Sher Lee - 5/5 stars
Adorable book and read it made me so hungry. I need to try a mooncake next fall.
Keeping Christmas: Yuletide Traditions in Norway and the New Land by Kathleen Stokker - 5/5 stars
I've had this sitting around for a few years now and figured I should read it around Christmas. It was super interesting—not only did I learn a lot about Norwegian Christmas traditions, I actually learned a lot about American Christmas traditions. Also it gave me an idea for a Christmas ghost story/romance.
The Winter Knight by Jes Battis - 5/5 stars
This book had a dreamy quality to it that was perfect for the subject matter. This is a murder mystery and kinda/sorta a retelling of Gawain and the Green Knight...I think? It's been way too many years since I've read Gawain and the Green Knight. The premise is that all the characters of Camelot are reincarnated over and over and stuck living out their myth cycles.
Death by Silver by Melissa Scott and Amy Griswold - 5/5 stars
Soooo much yearning. Two school friends reconnect over a murder case. Both of them think they're the only one in love with the other. If you're a Freya Marske or KJ Charles fan, this is very much up your alley.
Doc by Mary Doria Russell - 4.25/5 stars
The King's Delight by Sarah Honey - DNF at pg 72

@madcatdaderpydrawer-blog @pups-tickles I'm in a mood lol
In my interpretation of the role reversal au the virus was only resolved almost a year after Sun became infected. Meaning that Moony had to put up with his infected brother's psychological and emotional torment for a whole year before it was finally resolved.
By the time the virus has been resolved Moon was nothing more then an empty, emotionless shell. The poor thing was just so numb and exhausted from the amount of emotional abuse infected Sun inflicted on him.
Obviously, now that he was finally back to normal, Sun made sure to give him plenty of love, affection and compliments throughout the day. And of course, act extra silly and playful to try and cheer him up.
Unfortunately, the cheering up part wasn't very successful due to Moon being so emotionally numb :(
..... well... that was until about two weeks later when they were snuggling he remembered that Moony was insanely ticklish
After a few moments Sun spoke up, telling his brother that he still had one more trick up his sleeve and asked if it was okay if he tried it out. To which Moon reluctantly nodded
He was expecting another plantra of dad jokes and random stories that used to always crack him up, but that wasn't the case this time
Instead he felt soft warm fingers begin to gently squish and knead his soft tummy. Due to being caught completely off guard by the sudden tickle attack he immediately let out the loudest squeal and burst out laughing.
Saying that Sun was overjoyed to finally hear his brother's adorable laughter is an understatement. He was ABSOLUTELY ECSTATIC to finally hear Moony laughing again, he was so happy that his rays started spinning rapidly as he continued to knead Moony's soft, squishy tum
Sun just kept rambling happily about how much he's missed seeing his brother so happy and moved down to his waist and began softly scritching the sensitive metal, causing poor little Moony to absolutely lose it.
Despite absolutely loving every second of it, Moony hadn't been tickled since his brother was first infected so the poor nugget ended up getting too overwhelmed from it
Thankfully, Sun noticed this and slowed down a bit, before switching from gentle scritches to light scribbling so Moony wouldn't overheat from the sensation
But it was still enough to leave the poor thing squealing and giggling hysterically
He basically just spent the next four hours tickling his brother into oblivion while cooing and teasing him for being so damn cute!

I enjoy the idea of like...hypothetically, if Sunny and Mooncake didn’t have artificial sensors from the very beginning and then one day they were given them, Sunny gets very excited about the ticklish feelings and “casually” (very deliberately) does things to get people to tickle him, and then you have Moon who keeps getting mercilessly attacked because he keeps refusing to admit he’s ticklish even while he’s getting tickled And ya they just never grew out of it so they’re still doing it

Huh... sun and Moon don't really trust you yet? 🤔 maybe... OH! Try bonding with them beforehand :> they have a bit of trauma, so ensuring you won't leave, or hurt them will help you in fixing them.
I recommend gentle tickles 😏 seriously, what isn't more bond-y than tickles? 👀
Tumblr media
A little break from the angst to present the glorious combo of a very dickish lee and a very desperate one
reminder that tickling stuff/teasing them about threatening to tickle them is allowed, as I'll use the asks whenever I need a little break from the angst and lore X3

What's a trope that will almost always get you to read a book?
For me, it's fake dating. I absolutely love the it's-just-a-favor that turns into Real Feelings™. I eat that shit up!
I knew I was going to love Fake Dates and Mooncakes by Sher Lee because it's in the title. And it didn't disappoint. In this Crazy Rich Asians meets Heartstopper YA rom-com, Dylan and Theo are absolutely precious and I would protect them both with my life! There's baking, swoony moments, rediscovering lost family mooncake recipes, learning about your heritage, and so many food references that will have you craving xiao long bao the entire book. Did I mention there's also a corgi named Clover?
If you're a fan of fake dating like I am, I highly recommend this wonderful debut by Sher Lee!

Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams
Recommended by Lori
Florist Annie Walker is the youngest, sweetest sister of four. Orphaned at an early age, Annie's grown up under the protective wing of her older brother and two older sisters, not to mention the close-knit (and nosy) population of Rome, Kentucky. But now Annie would really like to find "the one," settle down, and have a family. That would fill the emptiness that nothing else seems to satisfy, right? Except Annie's social anxiety makes dating a nightmare, and when her most recent date fakes an emergency to ditch her, Annie is ready to give it all up. Enter tattooed bodyguard Will Griffin, back in town to guard Annie's future sister-in-law, pop star Amelia. Will agrees to be Annie's dating coach, just to give her tips and practice with the things that seem so hard when she's in the middle of a date. Unsurprisingly, the more time Annie and Will spend together, the closer they become, and the more Annie wonders what she's going to do when Will's assignment with Amelia is over. Annie is so delightful as a character, trying to break out of the box her siblings, and everyone in the town have put her in -- and with Will she is able to explore aspects of her personality that she hasn't shown anyone else. Will, of course, has his own past to contend with, and his own hangups to overcome. I listened to the audiobook on this one, and the dual narration really brought the novel to life. As I say in my rec card, "the most adorable small-town romance."

With Love, From Cold World by Alicia Thompson
Recommended by Lillian
Even though I think there is too much talk about tropes these days, it does work as a quick way to sum up a story. With Love, From Cold World seems like it would be easy to categorize. It's an Enemies to Lovers, workplace romance. The author ticks a few classic Rom-Com boxes - stuck in the office overnight together, beach trip sunscreen application, the setting is an almost too-quirky Winter-themed amusement park in Florida called Cold World. But hold on - there's more going on here that just that. Every layer starting with something as simple as the cover and continuing on to the emotions of the main characters is handled with a little more thought and a little less cookie-cutter storytelling. Lauren is a buttoned-up accountant, but getting her to open up and take risks for friendship and love didn't feel simple. Asa is a career Cold World employee who is not living up to his potential, but actually maybe he's doing great right where he is. There were moments I laughed, got choked up, and—of course—swooned. I found their getting together to be surprisingly touching. Definitely recommend for the romance reader as well as the romance-curious.

Fake Dates and Mooncakes by Sher Lee
Recommended by Becca
All Dylan Tang wants is to help keep his aunt's struggling Chinese takeout, Wok Warriors, afloat. He has a plan, too. Win the Mid-Autumn Festival mooncake competition—using his grandmother's unique blue mooncake recipe—and get Wok Warriors featured on a popular food television show. There are only two problems: 1) his aunt doesn't have the recipe, and 2) Theo Somers. After Dylan has an unfortunate run-in with Theo's best friend, Theo (wealthy, charming, and very attractive) tries to make it up to him by making a rather large donation to the takeout. Unable to refuse the needed money but not wanting to owe any favors, Dylan agrees to be Theo's fake date to a family wedding. But a weekend in the Hamptons surrounded by rich-people problems and having to contend with his growing attraction to Theo as they get to know each other might be more than he bargained for. Will sabotage, scandal, and stress get in the way of their budding relationship, or will Dylan learn the secret ingredients for both mooncakes and romance? Short, sweet, and a quick read, Fake Dates and Mooncakes was everything I wanted. Delicious food descriptions and a fake dating plot where they don't mess around too long saying, "Oh, it started as fake but now I have feelings for him and I can't act on them because we had an agreement!" (my least favorite part of the trope), took it over the top. Also, the cover art! I'm in love.
Long story short, next Saturday should be a lot of fun. Good vibes, good people, and good books. Come stop by and celebrate love and people who love love!
—Becca
