Happy WIP Wmonday-Wednesday to all who celebrate

Tagged by @dudeyuri on wmonday and didn't see the tag for aaages 🩷 thank you thank you!

Left is the very very first draft of the PatPran onlyfriends yolo bar frenemies with benefits au 💚 and Right is KimBig drunken one-night-stand 💜

Waxing lyrical about my own writing (+ tags) under the cut:

Two very very different vibes and character voices! Kim's patterns of thought come much more easily to me because I love poetry, metaphors and symbolism, and they really fit his tone as a melancholic songwriter type and fill the gaps where he isn't talking (and let's be real, Big isn't much of a talker either haha). He also presents a lot of emotions in very 'objective' ways, that style of semi-unreliable narration lines up with how he sees the world. He believes he's unlovable and undesirable so be bends over backwards to justify it. There's a passage above this one where he thinks about how Chay couldn't really want him because he doesn't actually know all sides of him, and now when he's presented with the idea that someone knows and seemingly wants him it feels good for a second and then he chalks it up to Big being in love with Kinn (true) and only wanting Kim as a kind of substitute (not true).

But Pat's voice is so different! It's much simpler and straight-to-the-point and honest-but-oblivous in a way that's really fun to play around with, and what he lacks in metaphors he makes up for in actions that line up with subconscious desires eg. wanting to be close to Pran so instinctively pulling him into a confined space and pressing up against him! It's hard writing the earlier stuff before he's properly started catching feelings: trying to make Pat notice details about Pran that the audience can read into, without Pat blatantly ignoring the big glaring "Pran Is In Love With You" banner floating 2ft above his head at all times.

Two very different little guys! I love them both! Excited to keep writing these 💚💜💚

DAY 10 OF SEWING MY OWN CLOTHES

First of all: I haven't posted in aaages cuz I've been busy with school and other stuffs but the sewing series has resumed.

Today was pretty productive. I finished off this checked kilt-like skirt that I've had on my to-make list forever which I'm super happy about! The only thing left in this is that I've gotta add eyelets and thread some ribbon through the front to form something like the lacing on a corset. Unfortunately I don't have eyelets rn so as soon as I go buy some I'll put em in and post a picture.

Next I sat and drafted a pattern for a pinafore! I've been wanting to make a pinafore for the longest time so I'm happy that it's in process now. I got 3m of brown chequered fabric to make it with, it's a bit shabby but I'm hoping that'll add a vintagey, worn look to it. I also printed out this pattern that I made on tailornova(if you dont know this site you should definitely check it out!! It's a pattern designing site in which there are TONS of options and you can even put in your measurements to get a custom fitted pattern for yourself!) and cut it out. It's for a 1950's style polka dotted dress that'll look super cute. I'm gravitating towards vintage clothing more and more so expect a lot of vintage sewing coming up!
