After damn near a year and a half of BJJ, I finally submitted someone with a leg triangle. It was very sloppy and ugly, but the guy was stronger than me and I count it as a qualified success.
Before, I didn't really understand how to clear the opponent's arm before placing my legs around their neck, and the instructions in Neil Melanson's (excellent) book about leg triangles all start from a position of already having gotten your leg over your opponent's shoulder. [Edit: I'm looking through the book again, and this isn't even true, it presents tons of ways to do it, haha]
We went over the move again in class a couple of weeks ago, and I guess something clicked. Here's the illustration from that session:

here's luca's sketch page that was going to go with his ref! i don't have much art of him, but i recently tweaked his design and want to draw him more :3c
luca is play bite's guitarist, and he's got that kinda-douchey-but-generally-good-hearted-frat-boy vibe. big "it's not gay if it's with the bros" energy. insists he's straight and the rest of the band is like "we know bro. now come cuddle."

Armbar from guard, with a transition to triangle choke in case your opponent wants to be a dick about it and pulls their arm out

From the spoilers I know from one piece the thing goes like this:
Luffy -> Saved Zoro and Sanji from dying when they met (and several other times).
Zoro -> Gave his life for Luffy and Sanji (he didn't die in the end, but he had the intention to so—).
Sanji -> Wanted to give his life for Luffy and Zoro (Luffy and Zoro prevented it in both occasions).
