i think luz would be completely hysterical about the importance of Keeping Hunter Here & camila would just assume he'd been held captive alongside luz. the assumptions she makes are probably closer to what actually happened to them than you'd expect, even if neither hunter nor luz was actually imprisoned in a murder basement. you think about the shit both of them went through in this AU and it's like. yeah you might as well have been in a murder basement

camila would want to find out how old hunter is and if there's any chance of anybody coming to the house looking for him and if he Wants to go to the police about all of this.... but it becomes apparent Very quickly that hunter is undocumented and a legal adult and deeply mentally ill and wholly uninterested in finding his own family.... and camila is like. yeah we're not calling the cops about this. they would not help and also would make this situation 100000x worse. you can stay as long as you like and we'll figure out the rest as we go along, ok?

camila figures out pretty fast that luz thought hunter was dead & that hunter is Desperately important to her. there is not a single molecule in her body that would ever even Consider separating them, or arguing with them about whether their relationship is healthy. that is So Low on the list of priorities.

i think she'd be privately and quietly doing a LOT of reading & reaching out to local aid groups that explicitly work with situations like this. just like. how do i get these kids help without putting either of them at risk of institutional violence. Pls.

I’m grouping these pages all together, as Kohane shares a bit more of her backstory here for Watanuki. 

It’s very interesting that, in the context of this series, the mother mentions that the snow looked like a million falling feathers. It doesn’t imply anything in itself but it’s an interesting echo of the plot around it at the very least, especially with the topic of wishes so clearly in centrestage. 

Kohane’s mother’s wish for a happy family doesn’t come true due to circumstances outside her control, but it’s telling that because of HER choices Kohane’s wish for just the two of them to be happy can’t come true either. Instead of, perhaps, adjusting her wish just to include herself and her daughter, she transforms it entirely into one of revenge, and so continues the chain of breaking someone else’s wish of simply being happy. 

Both of Kohane’s parents act in a pattern; they act to fulfil their selfish desires no matter who it hurts (or BECAUSE it will hurt others), and in doing so they shatter the happiness of everyone else involved. 

And so it’s only HERE, completely safe and apart from her mother, with only Watanuki in company, that she can finally let her feelings out and actually cry over it all.

#don’t reblog just let me yell into the void #so yeah i‘m on sick leave for over a year and today was the last straw. something in me kind if shattered. #the system here is so righed that idk what else i can do #i fell through all the governmental institutions that were supposed to help me‚ not play hot potato with me #so we got the disabled insurance. rn they only can provide me work rehabilitation programs and they will only start looking into disability #pension when you have been sick/ on sick leave for 2 years. after one year on sick leave‚ the workplace can legally fire you which they did. #so‚ the work insurance is supposed to pay me (for 2years)‚ but they had a insurance psychologist declaring me healthy #not to mention that the whole appointment was a disaster and i had a meltdown right after but on his report #they decided i‘m not sick and not eligible for insurance money #so i‘m jobless‚ unemployed and sick. so i go to the unemployment office! and they didn’t pay me! bc i‘m only eligible for unemployment money #if i am «marketable» as a work force #which i‘m obviously not! i‘m on full time sick leave! #and now i have to go to the social welfare office and beg and hope they find me eligible for at least that #but i can’t get married or maybe even move in with my partner bc otherwise they would have to support me…. #i‘m just….i feel played. i feel like i was being made fun of for being honest and trying and standing my ground. #and today my card got declined. i have absolutely no more money. #fuck shit bitch ass system #i HATE IT #I HATE IT HERE #i just want to be ok i want to be able to work again but you really push me in a fucking corner #how am i supposed to get better when you make my life worse and harder???? #FUUUUUUCK

saw a post the other day that said that psych survivors were overexaggerating and fearmongering for saying that people should be aware that having diagnoses on your record can be a danger + impede your life. and the more i think about it the more annoyed i am. because i think people need to know that there are exceptions to health privacy laws that can make having psych diagnoses and psych hospitalization history on your record risky depending on your circumstances. diagnoses follow you through your health interactions-you do not have to consent to have your information shared between providers. judicial proceedings are also an exception to the HIPAA privacy rule, so for things like custody battles, guardianship, getting orders of protection--the court can petition for medical records. there's so many other situations where even if they can't legally access your information without your authorization, people will require you to disclose diagnoses, records, previous hospitalizations and refuse to give you services/hire you/whatever unless you share that information with them. for example in many states anyone (a provider, a cop, friends and family) can disclose that you have certain psych diagnoses like bipolar to the DMV which then might require that you undergo drivers license review as frequently as every 3 months. my university is actively trying to kick me out right now because i had to disclose my medical record, psych diagnoses, and hospitalization history to them as a requirement to stay enrolled.

and i don't want to scare people or make people think that having a diagnosis on their records is automatically going to mean that it is weaponized against us. because i do know plenty of people who have never faced issues with their records. but i do expect that the community supports the people speaking out about the ways that we have been harmed by diagnoses creating barriers to accessing necessary parts of our life. instead of attacking us or saying that we're lying about things we are currently experiencing.
