loving how the series plays into the themes of destiny and fate and the sheer chance of how the entire campaign turned out

because many of the narrative choices we're going to see in this season and beyond came down to a literal roll of the dice. somebody died, and the cast had to live with consequences of that death. they played it beautifully, over and over again, and when they didn't get a chance to fix it, they let it sit.

and to see it play out as an overarching narrative where the events of characters' lives have so much more meaning is fascinating (and heartbreaking). because maybe you and your friends were always meant to do great things, to save the world. maybe you were always destined to lose your sister, and your sister was always destined to lose you. maybe this was the ending you were walking towards this entire time.

A few notes about episode 2.10 of The Legend of Vox Machina :

Oh, so they did introduce the time-distortion element from going back from the Feywild ! (Mickey Mouse meme : It's a Surprise Tool That Will Help Us Later !)

“Funny story ! I kind of... lost them... it’s really not that funny.” Marisha’s delivery of this line made me laugh SO MUCH

HONOR, UNCLE IROH (sorry, wrong show)

Man, the 1vs1 part of the fight is as brutal and harrowing as it was in the stream. If I remember correctly, there were hostages (some children) in the square... ; here Pike is the incentive.

Grog getting impaled on the pike is horrifying, but I can’t ever forget those toothpicks Matt put on the original map.

The 2nd part of the fight is even more intense and the movements are so fluid. I really liked how they cranked up the heat.

And then VOX MACHINA !! FUCK SHIT UP !!!!! What an iconic line

The Rage !!! song is so awesome, my god. This 3d part of the fight is so so so so VERY WELL DONE. I love this show.

Gotta respect a little a man who attacks with his own cut-off hand.
