Okay so like. I’m on this site called mycast, I will preface this whole thing by saying I know it’s cringe. It’s very cringe. Like 95% of the users are probably Wattpad users. That kinda cringe. However I am Autism™ and I love to sort people and characters into little boxes and this site makes me happy. Cringe but free etc etc. Anyway the important part is the point of the site is to like, put together fancasts. Like you input a “story” (ie: “Kingdom Hearts”) and then can put in the character roles and suggest actors to play the roles (ie: “Miya Cech as Kairi”) and other people can vote on your suggestions or make their own. Pretty fun but once again can get very cringe very fast but like who cares, we’re all gonna die why not have some fun casting your favorite Disney Princesses or whatever.

Anyway, a couple months back mycast got a new “partner” (probably sponsor??) called LegionM, which is self-described as “the world’s first fan-owned entertainment company. Legion M partners with top Hollywoof creators to produce movies, TV, and digital content. See Legion M stories below to cast your vote for REAL feature films and TV series in development!” I haven’t looked into it but from being on the internet for one billion years it seems like a scam. Like, probably definitely a scam. I could be wrong cause I don't care to look into it but yea it's probably a scam. But like this is the cringe site so why not have some fun with it right?

Anyway their stories have been at the top of the welcome page for MONTHS and it’s annoying but the worst part is every day. Every fucking day I use this site to sort my little blorbos or fancast my little comfort series. I look at their list of bland stories they want unpaid teenagers to cast for them. And every day. I see it.

What makes Vanguard -If- a bad show?

The entire first half is utterly worthless to what happens in the second half, its plot is honestly a train wreck that doesn't hold together or explained together well, and honestly the finale drags on like 2 to 3 episodes longer than it really should of (Kourin is functionally the emotional climax of the show, Aichi's whole section is basically just very draining).

It's like someone unironically making the Bount Arc.

It's basically a show that wastes half your time, gives you a hyper annoying unlikable villain whose motivations are he's a whiny yandere twink bitch who went whoo whoo and feels like a worse Legionmate, which nearly killed Vanguard's financial standing as an IP, and basically pissed off people by replacing what they expected to be a Vanguard G redux following up Shin'emon's build-up to give G legs and grounding.

Also Ibuki, who is voiced by a hot actor well liked by female fans for being the cool aloof guy, gets treated as The Living End, so it's not particularly fun for girls to watch who want his voice actor to be the cool aloof mysterious hot guy!

(Also it completely retcons out its entire plot from continuity, which is cowardices.)

Alongside a plethora of other talented artists, I am honoured to announce that two of my original Mandy poster artworks have been selected to be featured in an upcoming PosterSpy art book titled MANDY: THE ULTIMATE POSTER COLLECTION which officially launches on Kickstarter Monday, 22nd November 2021.

The artwork was originally created in October 2018 as an entry submission for a creative brief hosted by PosterSpy.com.

(Entry excerpt from the book) Apart from being a seemingly straightforward action-packed Nicholas Cage revenge thriller, what stands out most about Panos Cosmatos's 2018 film Mandy are its multifold layers of possible interpretations - be it literal, allegorical or symbolic. Panos tastefully paints a lush multidimensional cinematic collage not only by paying homage to the creme-de-la-creme of quirky 80's pop culture but also by making reference to myths of old, biblical tales and timeless archetypes embedded within the viewers' collective unconscious. As to accommodate and complement the director's chosen MO, I chose not to take things at face value by simply portraying characters and distinct scenes from the film. My artwork attempts to convey the deep underlying ideas and concepts through implicit symbols and artefacts – found objects, props, materials, textures, scenery and contrasting colour palettes featured in the movie.

The apple symbolizing the temptation and fall of man; the enveloping serpent's skin embodying evil and chaos; the burning flames representing the purifying and destructive nature of fire; the tiger skin denoting Blakean bravery and wrath; the figure 44 referencing the number of days between Christ's crucifixion and resurrection; the occult sigil of Lucifer – the 'light-bringer'; the black leather of the four summoned riders of an impending Apocalypse – these are the images I found most appealing, substantial and apt for my compositions.For the medium, I opted to utilize digital art tools to create a cohesive collage of photographs, graphics, textures and typography, all embellished with vivid colour grading and a distressed finish.

Releasing via crowd-funding platform Kickstarter, the book is an officially licensed, brand-new, 132-page book featuring a foreword by the producers, Elijah Wood and Daniel Noah, the co-founders of SpectreVision and is crammed full of incredible art celebrating the film. The book is also fully approved and licensed by Nicolas Cage whose likeness is used throughout.

Over 60 artists are featured in this stunning art book and you’ll find in-depth commentary and sketches that have never been published before.
