I like to think Leia named her son after Obi-Wan as the ultimate fuck you to Vader. Luke probably thought it was wholesome and missed Leia’s underlying rage, while Han would have been 100% confused why she was naming their son over the space wizard he met once but also 100% on board when he learned why

There are some headcanons that I know I have, and others make themselves known by way of how often I'm tempted to put something in stories that don't technically happen in the same AU. Apparently, one of the latter for me is that Leia has a Mr. Ratburn level of affinity for cake. I don't know why my brain has decided this, but I expect it to become more unhinged as time goes on.

i always see people saying "oh luke hates sand just like anakin" nice, a little basic though, so i raise you "luke likes sand, because it reminds him of simpler times and his old life"
leia on the other hand hates it with a passion she can't stand it and her reaction upon luke's little fond smile when he starts kicking around in the sand on a visit to another planet is one of horror. and i can just picture anakin's force ghost slowly fading in beside her with an equal look of appalled horror on his face.

Do the jedi have like. the star wars equivalent of sword dances? I mean lightsaber fights already look like dances, but like what about the ones that are actually intended to be dances? like imagine dancing with a lightsaber- that would be sooo pretty to look at. I imagine that obi-wan isn't like super good or an expert or anything, but there's a couple that he knows and loves and does really well, especially when he's on his own. Qui-gon was really good at many and taught him to do them and it stuck, and on those nights he was grieving he just dances listening to the force. Nobody dances quite like obi-wan, though. Like he doesn't know a lot of dances but he's really really good on the ones he does know, and plus points to the fact that obi-wan is probably also musically inclined.
Anakin is really good, too, like qui-gon, he caught it much more easily than obi-wan did. It probably started out as him accidentally seeing obi-wan do it when he was younger, and then trying to emulate and failing lmao, and then it became like, and alternative way of meditating for Anakin? like at some point Obi-wan realized that dance could totally work as a way of moving meditation and decided to teach anakin himself and enroll him in classes, and I think anakin would really get into it especially during the war. Padme would like it, she has an eye for stuff like this so sometimes she helps point out details to anakin.
Ahsoka learns from anakin because anakin is definitely the type to add sword dance into ahsoka's curiculum, but he prefers teaching her himself because he just so happens to be really good at it. Ahsoka would like it! like she's not as into it as anakin is but sometimes she practices when there's a lot on her mind or like, when she wants to show the clones what she learned. oh, the clones would absolutely enjoy watching ahsoka dance, and ahsoka would totally convince anakin to do it with her. Sometimes they'd convince obi wan. When she leaves the order she still practices, it's her way of staying connected even though she'd never come to realize it herself. And when (if?) the whole oder 66 thing happens, the sword dance is one of the few jedi culture bits that not many outside of the order knows, and she preserves it.
I like to think that she'll teach luke, one day. like maybe directly, or maybe she'll leave him a set of holo-recordings that he finds, and then luke would try to emulate and learn, and because he's Padme's and Anakin's son, he'd catch on and learn quickly. It won't be a perfect imitation, so Luke just uses his gut (the force) and adds new bits into the missing portions of the dance. He'd teach leia too, like leia is not super interested as luke is, but this specific aspect is actually super fascinating to her, so maybe she'll learn a bit, while also assisting him in doing some research about it. It surprised her how it helps her clear her mind.

Canonically luke's older then Leia but spiritually Leia treats Luke like a 7 year old little brother. She's like oh no my wee little brother cannot endure the harsh cold by himself (tears) (handkerchief dabbing at her eyes) luke make sure to eat and sleep and do NOT get into any more trouble do you hear me, just do the job and don't poke your nose into any mishaps or shenanigans, also don't forget to refuel your xwing sweetie <3 and Luke's like sure ok 😘 see ya sis (didn't hear a thing she said)

Personally I love to imagine some kind of ‘force heaven’ but there’s not only Jedi, so we also have bail, breha, padme and a bunch of other characters.
The funniest part comes when they are watching what happens down there in the real galaxy, especially the drama surrounding Han and Leia during TESB. Obviously they can’t interfere, but that doesn’t stop them from making bets and casual comments about what is happening.
Please, imagine bail having several heart attacks while watching his little daughter kissing passionately with a literal scoundrel while breha being #1 hanleia shipper and rooting for Han at every opportunity he took.
Something like this:

the two ends of the skywalker spectrum:
padme & leia: i think if you say “i love you” too much, it kinda loses it’s meaning

Cody Headcanon:
Bail Organa.
That was Cody's 'Senate crush' (since the whole GAR had one)
Come on, an older man who is a literal space gangster with razor sharp wit whose brain could probably power the whole of Curosaunt and is on the circle of Senators who actually do the work.
Bail Organa is a slick, smart and hard working man. You will not convince me otherwise that Cody is a big fan.
(not necessarily romantic but a fanboy type way)

You know what I love? No matter what ship or au. That everyone rolls with the idea that Darth Vader is like the best dad to his twins. Because they are his beloved babies and wants the best for them. Schooling, hobbies, playing or even just talking. Vader is 100% there for them. Even as adults, he’s there for the twins.
Vader allows his children to find their place in the force. He answers their questions about each side. Who better than to ask? Vader even one hell of a sith, can tell them pros and cons of each side. What to expect and what happens when you go to deep.
Yes he 100% hates Han Solo, reminds him of being a cocky young man. Leia deserves better but if his princess likes this stray of a human (assumingely human at least) he will make sure Han Solo would be the type of man Leia needs.
Vader allows Luke to find himself, try being a Jedi and even trains him. What can he say? The light suits his ball of sunshine. But it’s very amusing that Luke has a crush on a Mandalorian and Vader had to explain to his son why it was funny.
To Luke credit he did find it funny too.
Idk this was a rambling line of thoughts.
Just good dad Vader

Clone Wars headcanons that have been rotting in my google docs
I like to believe that Padme teaches Ahsoka how to make friendship bracelets and she treats it as something sacred and spends an unholy amount of time making some for the people she cares about
Master Plo gets the first one, Obi-Wan gets the second, Rex Cody and a couple of their boys get some more, Padme of course gets one, and Anakin gets one last
The reason he was the last to get one is something Ahsoka will never admit out loud but she honestly wanted to take her time with his
And because of that Anakin permanently has a work of art on his wrist like everyone’s is gorgeous but his is something else entirely
He thanks her truly and honestly thanks her and promises to keep it forever
When Ahsoka jokingly calls him for breaking the orders rules he comments back “When have we ever listened to those rules”
He keeps his promise too that bracelet never leaves his person
He’s lost clothes lightsabers and even a couple of prosthetics but he always makes sure to go back for that bracelet
He eventually repays the gift in kind with a bracelet of his own
It’s not the best made or pretties thing but Ahsoka can feel the love that was put into it so she makes the same promise he did years ago and keeps it too
When the twins are born Ahsoka makes them both friendship bracelets
At first they are small enough for their tiny wrists but she adds onto them as they grow older
Ahsoka tears up when she finds that they all kept the bracelets she never thought they’d toss them or anything but seeing them decades later does hit her hard because they’re all in perfect condition
Padme loves to “kidnap” Ahsoka whenever they have the time
She’ll just request her protection on a diplomatic mission
Sometimes it is an actual mission but Padme will still make time to take them to her favorite restaurants or cafes so they can have a little bit of downtime
When the war ends the tradition continues even tho everyone knows Ahsoka’s not really there as a security escort
I find the visual of Anakin and Padme telling Ahsoka, Obi-wan, and Rex they’re married fucking hilarious
Both Obi-Wan and Rex would try to act like they’ve been fooled truly they do but it all kinda breaks when Ahsoka asks “Wait we weren’t supposed to know?”
Anakin is just as confused when he asks “What do you mean Soka? How could you have known?”
And that’s when Ahsoka just starts laughing hysterically and it doesn’t take long for Obi-Wan and Rex to join in when he asks again all Ahsoka says is “Really? Kriffing look at you two” and doesn’t add much else
Both Luke and Leia try to replicate Ahsoka’s face markings with various levels of success
They often ask their mom for help and she’s always happy to do so Ahsoka gets filled with unimaginable amounts of joy when she sees her niece and nephew trying to look just like her
Anakin often jokes that of course he’s not the favorite even in his own home like she’s not the first name that comes up whenever babysitting is on the table
It’s also not a surprise that both Ahsoka and Obi-Wan become the twin's space equivalent of godparents
It seems like a necessary precaution all things considered
Neither of them takes the role lightly but they also vow that it won’t be needed and they do everything in their power to make it so
After most missions it is very rare for Anakin to let Ahsoka and Obi-Wan out of his sight
Ahsoka never fights him on this and is perfectly happy to stay by his side and sleep in the living room like they often do
Sometimes Obi-Wan is called away for a meeting with the council and can’t stay with the two but that doesn’t stop him from joining them later on in the night even if they’re asleep
Anything beats sleeping in his cold desolate room after some of the more dangerous missions
Sometimes they’ll go a step further and call Padme just to check in with her and have her on the line as they watch some stupid rom-com
After some of the rougher missions it wasn’t uncommon for Ahsoka to pass out due to the physical and mental strain
It also wasn’t uncommon for Anakin to give her a piggyback ride back to the ship
He finds that people shoot him less looks when he’s carrying his padawan instead of holding her in a death grip and not letting go until it’s time to leave
A lot of people thought they’d grow out of this habit but no it’s a trend that stays throughout their lives
It just so happens that Ahsoka grows tall enough to return the ongoing favor
It also didn’t stop at the battlefield either
Sometimes Anakin would find her passed out in the archives or he would get a message that she was asleep in a friend's room
And he’d always go to get her because what’s he gonna do leave her there?
Sometimes when Ahsokas babysitting the kids Anakin will find her in a position that Obi-Wan often told him about
Sitting in front of the TV with the twins curled up at her side
And while Padme deems it her job to carry the twins off to their room Anakin takes his long-time role of carrying Ahsoka to hers
(Because if you think she wouldn’t have a room in their house you’re crazy)
Anakin always knew Ahsoka would grow up that’s just a part of life and how the universe works
But nothing can describe the feeling of her growing taller than him
Envy isn’t what he feels no matter how much people suggest he does sadness isn’t either it’s something deeper than that
Bittersweet is the closest word he could find because after all there’s nothing quite like watching your younger sibling grow up

I’ve been on a Greek mythology kick lately, so, as a lark, here’s a quick list of a few Star Wars characters and Greek characters I think they resemble:
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Oedipus. Both men are noble of character and have heroic intentions. They are devoted to their adopted families, remarkably competent in their jobs as generals and leaders, and they always try to do the right thing in any situation they encounter. But, both are doomed by the narrative to take part in the downfall of their families and cultures, and all of their heroic efforts come to naught. Both of them ultimately end up punishing themselves for circumstances beyond their control, and perishing in exile.
Anakin Skywalker: Heracles. The most physically powerful heroes of their respective mythos, they earn reputations of renown for their feats of strength and ingenuity. Both men fall under the influence of powerful beings who want to destroy their souls, and end up murdering their entire families in fits of madness. But, both men also eventually come to their senses, and though they can never erase the horrible things they’ve done, they devote the rest of their lives to attempt to make some recompense for their crimes, and ascend to godhood as a result.
Darth Maul: Sisyphus, natch. Local bastard keeps cheating death, and it’s really starting to piss death off. Sentenced to always be working towards a goal that can never be achieved.
Princess Leia: Antigone. Devoted daughter-figures to Obi-Wan Kenobi and Oedipus, respectively. Doomed to deal with the fallout of their predecessor’s choices, and not happy about it. Stubbornly do the right thing in defiance of the law, knowing full well that it will cost them their lives. Ultimately they die before they can see the benefit of their life’s work, but both go out like complete badasses, and their deaths cause chain reactions that eliminate the families of their enemies.
Luke Skywalker: Perseus. “I’m just the simple adopted son of a farmer/fisherman who wants to fight injustice. Oh, my family is now being harmed by that injustice? Game on, motherfucker, I’m gonna punch you out with the help of this cool new sword my mentor got for me. Oh, there’s a princess in danger of being consumed by a monster? Well of COURSE I have to rescue her! And…wait, what the fuck do you mean, my bio dad’s an asshole god?”
Rey: Psyche. Both abandoned by their families because of a curse, both get sucked into a never-ending cosmic family drama that has caused yet another war. Their character arc involves winning over many of the other players in this family drama to try and reconcile them with each other, to mixed effects. Both are brought back from the dead by their love interests, and go on to rebuild their lives after the war’s end.
