“I am my sister’s, and my sister is mine,” she chanted over and over until she could taste blood in her mouth. 

The fire under the bubbling cauldron flickered, casting shadows over her face. She ignored it and closed her eyes once more. Tears leaked from them soon thereafter, dripping down her nose, an annoyance she could not afford. 

Concentrate. Focus. 

This was her one chance to make things right. She’d do anything to hold her sister in her arms again, to never be alone again. She was her sister’s, and her sister was hers; body, soul, blood and bone.
