Leo would probably take a long time to notice this because his brother and sister have also just died tragically and his only other family left has refused the crown, forcing him to take the throne that never should have been his. So Odin pulling away at first makes sense or wouldn't even be noticed. Or Odin would be there, physically, and Leo wouldn't notice the emotional distance or the things he is hiding until he has begun to slowly come back to himself. Which is already much too late.

“I care because I don't want you flying off the handle and getting me killed,” Naga replied and leaned back in her seat. “Or at least causing us to lose our treasure again…come on, I saved your life twice now, I think I more than deserve your trust.”

Leodin's expression softened a moment as he felt a brief pang of humility. The blond took another long sip of his drink and gave another long sigh as he relented. “Fine, I'll tell you, but don't go telling anyone else…” He reached for the long white fang that hung from his neck, thumbing the edge and the sharp point. “Do you know what kind of tooth this is?”

Leodin tries in vain to track down Oulette and Tekanta and nearly loses his cool. Fed up with his behavior, Naga demands to know the truth, and Leodin reveals his troubled past with Grohl.

Slayers Bravado: Chapter 1 - The Cute Bandit

In her search for her ultimate rival Lina, Naga the Serpent encounters Leodin, a dual axe-wielding warrior on a quest for vengeance. Through a series of circumstances, the two of them team up to help each other in their goals. Together, they go on a series of misadventures, learn about each other's pasts, and form a close bond whilst a sinister plot brews in the shadows…

So yeah, I'm finally writing fanfiction again, and I'm writing one for Slayers, a series that is near and dear to my heart, centered on my favorite character Naga along wh my original character Leodin.

The story is based on an original story I had tried to develop but never could quite follow through with. I'm adapting it instead into a Slayers fanfic because frankly, I don't need to worry about establishing the setting. Also, the Slayers setting is more flexible so I need not worry too much about the lore or logistics, especially since I'll be basing this more on the Slayers Special/OVA/Movies.

Even if you're not a Slayers fan and you're one of my White Knight, Red Queen readers I hope you check it out. I haven't forgotten about my crossover fic, but I'm still waiting to see where TDP and Azula in the Spirit Temple go.
