Note: This is my first time writing about this sort of thing. I hope it hasn't come across as insensitive or something like that.

Fuyuhiko

Fuyuhiko had sat beside you on your bed as he traced the scars on your arm with the tip of his finger. Neither of you had spoken a word to each other. It was a comfortable silence almost as if nothing needed to be said.

You had been with Fuyuhiko for some time now and you knew he was with people particularly you especially you. Fuyuhiko cared for you above all else you mean so much to him and he wants nothing more than to see you happy and safe. So to know you were dealing with pain and this how you were dealing with it.

It saddened and hurt him but that sadness and pain was nothing compared to what you must have been going through. He wasn't the best with his words so he decided to say nothing for now. Instead, he cuddled up to let you know he was there for you.

(Look at you cuddling with one of the most feared men in Japan. What would his subordinates think if they saw him like this?) You cuddled him resting your head on his neck letting out tears you didn't know you were holding back. He soothed you wrapping his arms around you to bring you closer.

You wondered if you should say anything but you decided against it. You were just glad to have Fuyuhiko here with you glad that someone finally knew. You just stayed in his arms as you continued to cry knowing that with him you would be safe.

Nagito

From his appearance, people might see Nagito as very aloof. However, that couldn't be further from the truth as he was a very observant person. For example his S/O there are things he would pick up on about you that others wouldn't.

So even if you were lying to him he wouldn't push it and would wait until you were comfortable to talk with him. Nagito cares about you and is very considerate of your feelings. He would know what and what not to do and you would let him if he overstepped any boundaries.

One of your favorite things is simply being with Nagito knowing that he's right there with you. Whether that be in the comfort of your own home or at the park with him. You always enjoyed going to the park with him having a picnic together or watching the clouds.

Being with you feel at ease and that you can forget the troubles of everyday life. If Nagito is good at topics for conversation but if you didn't pursue them he wouldn't bring them up again after all he isn't a person who pries. Nagito loves hearing your voice even if you're rambling he doesn't care he just loves to hear the sound of your voice.

Hopes and dreams Nagito has heard it all from you and he's happy that you've shared them with him. But as for now, you were lying on the grass looking at the clouds as you spoke to Nagito. Your smile he loved was something so precious to him and he'd do whatever he could to protect you and your smile.

Kazuichi

Kazuichi felt as if something had been different about you as of late. It was summer and you had been wearing bagger clothing for such warm weather. Of course, Kazuichi had known you for a while after all you were his S/O so he knew how you liked to dress yourself.

It's not only your clothing that has changed but your behavior around him and other people. You had become more closed off and quiet. Kazuichi was worried about you and he had asked you if everything was okay but you brushed him off.

He could only watch as you changed and not for the better. Kazuichi just knew something was wrong and that you were in pain. It was hurting him to see you suddenly change like this and not knowing the reason why.

That was until one day Kazuichi walked into your room without knocking and caught you self-harming. For a moment none of you spoke a word to each other as you just stared. "Y-Y/N" Kazuichi spoke in pure shock as if he couldn't believe what he was saying.

The look in his it's something you wished to have never seen from him. After a while, he approached you on the bed hugging you. "Don't worry I'm here for you my princess/prince."

Leon

Leon was worried about you he noticed a change in your behavior as of late. You had become more closed off recently and stopped showing up to classes. He had noticed that your clothing had also changed with you wearing longer shirt sleeves.

He was worried and he wasn't sure what to do or how to approach you about his concerns. So Leon decided to ask some of your friends about you and how you have been recently. He had asked them for help as he and your friends were all very worried.

So for the next while, both Leon and your friends had begun to pay closer attention to you. While not asking what was bothering you directly. You were now in your bedroom and you were sure you were alone now to start doing that again.

However, before you, Leon grabbed the knife out of your hand. "Y/N what are you doing?" Leon asked you in shock as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing. "Why would you do that Y/N?"

Leon put the knife aside and sat on the bed next to you. "B-because I..." You could barely get the words out as tears fell from your eyes. Leon pulled you into a tight hug as you rested your head on his neck.

"I love you Y/N please whatever is bothering talk to me. I love you and I'd never judge you. You shouldn't have to resort to this I'm here for you okay? Please remember that forever and always."

Leon:

He was devastated. Fucking devastated. He couldn't believe his eyes. You were dead, very much dead. Definitely screamed when he saw your body. He did his best to investigate. He was dumb, yes. But he just couldn't stand around and do anything. He did his best to investigate.

During the trial, he was a bit snappy and pissed, so he decided to stay quiet so he wouldn't lose himself. When the culprit was revealed, he was really pissed and almost punched them. Mondo had to hold him off. He didn't even watch the execution, he felt nothing. When the rest left, he went to his room to cry. You were his light, and now you were gone.

Mondo:

Oh dear. Danger. I repeat, DANGER. It's already difficult for him to not yell at anyone as soon as they discover your body, but he's also trying to not punch anyone. He refuses to leave your body's side, glaring at anyone except Kyoko, Makoto or Taka. They're the only ones he trusts to investigate the body. The first two were the ones who investigated the most and were the most useful in the first trial, while the later was due to how close he was to him. Besides, Taka was the one who comforted and reassured him that they'll find the culprit.

During the trial, he was quick to accuse anyone who was suspicious or to who the evidente pointed to, even Taka. Eventually, Kyoko told him to snap out of it, that he had to take a breather, and that S/O was gonna get avenged. The culprit was lucky enough to not get punched in the face by Mondo. He just got berated by him. After the execution, he went to his room. He just hugged whatever he had that belonged to you.

Celestia(Despite me being uncomfy, I tried my best):

She was shocked. Who dared murder her beloved? She made that angry pose where she points her finger ring thing up with a pissed off face. Even Byakuya was taken aback by the sudden change of attitude. She was really helpful during the investigation. She is out for blood. And she was smart enough to figure out who the culprit was before the trial.

During the trial, she kept insulting the culprit, and helping Makoto when he got stuck. We could say she became the momentary support of the chapter. When the culprit was revealed, Celestia went on a whole speech about how they should regret what they did, and how about they should be grateful Monokuma is punishing them instead of her. Left straight up after the execution.

Sakura:

She was devastated. The love of her life was dead. And someone did it. She did her best to help during the investigation, providing her alibi and helping Makoto and Kyoko.

During the trial she was calm, only talking when necessary. When the culprit was found out, she just glared at them. Left right up after the execution, and locked herself for the rest of the day.

Finally got the talentswap designs I have for the THH characters one and done with! You can click through the read more section for some fun design insights. I'm intending on uploading a doc containing short lore bits about them eventually.

Kyoko Kirigiri - Ultimate Affluent Progeny

So Kyoko's design was both kinda simple, kinda not, wanted to give her a very fine and regal kinda attitude to her but not arrogant as that's very much Byakuya's thing. Her story is that she loves her dad more than the family business and her grandpa so she abandons detective work and just uses her brain to help her dad out.

Makoto Naegi - Ultimate Novelist

Makoto is a wonderful guy, just great all around. He loves writing children's books and happy stories. This is his main coping mechanism so he doesn't have to process any negative emotions he gets, the rest he can't process… well they go into a murderous psychopath alter.

Aoi Asahina - Ultimate Lucky Student

Shoujo protagonist Aoi. Cute, headstrong, affective, competitive, these are all the traits that make her fight for her friends and clash with Kyoko (and more often than not Byakuya) in the killing game, even when all hope seems lost… she pushes through, unafraid to let tears spill from her eyes for all those lost, but pushing all the same.

Byakuya Togami - Ultimate Detective

This one, I wanna go into more lore territory, cause I kinda memed around his last desc I gave him so here goes:

"A disgraced heir of the Togami household, Byakuya lost the competition that would've secured his riches. Disdainful and bitter, he sought out to get to the bottom of why he lost, uncovering a rabbit hole in the process. By the end, he proved his sibling a cheater, but it didn't matter because by the end as he found the sweet satisfaction of uncovering secrets and crushing liars and cheaters under the weight of their hubris far more satisfying than any inheritance."

Sayaka Maizono - Ultimate Spirit Medium

So Sayaka isn't a clairvoyant at all like Yasuhiro, in fact her entire skillset is completely different, first of all she is like an actual psychic, and I based her design off of the japanese Itako, quite loosely. Very interesting group, look it up, also she'll never use these powers in the killing game because I dunno how to even approach these rituals or what they look like or how to write them while remaining respectful, so she won't do it in a killing game for the express reason of her not having the right tools available and not wanting to disrespect her traditions.

Leon Kuwata - Ultimate Swimmer

I really wanna draw him again, all these characters again tbh, and I wanna show off the patterns on his wetsuit. It's a whole coral reef under there, that anemone and clownfish bit is only one part of a whole reef stretching his midline.

Sakura Ogami - Ultimate Programmer

Sakura has installed chips into her body to help optimize her body processes and also cause why not. As for the muscles, she's an Assembly programmer, the programs she's made can run on calculators she loves it.

Chihiro Fujisaki - Ultimate Martial Artist

Chihiro's design here with the two belts is an explicit nod to his preferred martial art - Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, so unlike Sakura in canon who'd be easy to imagine cracking someone's skull in half with a chop, Chihiro's approach is more crawling onto someone and bringing them down to the floor with grappling like an angry halfling monk. As for the belts themselves, on his head is his final junior belt, while around his waist is his current belt, he's not a black belt yet because he's still too young for it.

Celestia Ludenberg - Ultimate Baseball Star

Celestia actually isn't a legend in this AU, Taeko is. Celestia hates that and wants to start a baseball career going international, whatever the hell that means is up to her own definition, but she wants to be remembered forever as Celestia, not Taeko. Also extra sentence, but this is the SINGLE hardest design I've ever had to deal with here, I think in the future I'll be drawing all her little accessories and I have an alt costume for her I have in mind.

Hifumi Yamada - Ultimate Pop Star

So I changed Hifumi's story as I originally outlined in the OG post with him. He was friends with Aoi all his life, pretty much his only friend at all, and ever since he was little he had an obsession with writing songs, because he was obsessed with stuff like anime openings and was content to just keep the songs to himself. It wasn't till Aoi convinced him to share some of his songs that he started his journey to success, but bc he's not traditionally attractive, his first hits were literally just… his voice being played over other more attractive singers and it wasn't until very very recently that he even performed a song of his for the first time.

Quite LITERALLY the never stop gambling meme personified into a guy. He can lose 3 mil on slot machines but always comes out fine because it means if he keeps gambling he'll eventually run into his 1/3 and win giga millions, what he needs to pay off his debts. It isn't just with luck though either because his personality and lack of intelligence or understanding of most the rules of the games he plays means he'll never react the way he should when getting a good hand in poker or a bad draw in blackjack, so he wins those games almost always through just… stupidity.

Mukuro Ikusaba - Ultimate Biker

She's number 16 in her gang, and is easily the most loyal enforcer and taskman of the gang. She does anything she's told, to a grim and disciplined degree not typical for hooligan bike gangers, she doesn't really desire a seat as top dog of the gang though, after all she's got school to worry about, and her sister.

Mondo Owada - Ultimate Warlord

So his relationship and Kiyotaka's is gonna be interesting, because I don't want him to be exactly like Mukuro at all, who was just sort of an all-obsessed Yandere. It's more like he's always chafing under Taka, who is less than friendly with him in this AU, really the main way he even lets Taka boss him around is because he pays incredibly well and helps keep his gang members from devolving back into the unstructured, chaotic criminal life, the same that took his brother years ago.

Oh and yeah, he still looks like Guile, as he should.

Sparkling Justice - Ultimate Killer Killer

Yeah it's a reference to Killer Killer, sue me I love the manga. He has Hajirahara's ahoge, and I thought it'd be cute to also give him a mask just like the other Makoto from a Kodaka game series (Raincode.) Also, while Genocide jack stuffs all her scissors in her skirt, Makoto keeps a truth gun with "truth bullets" as his main weapon, the gun he stores inside the big book in the chibi of just Makoto, and the bullets kept on his person as the red buttons all over his body, which he pulls out when he needs to reload.

"Kiyotaka Ishimaru" - Ultimate Fashionista

Unlike Mukuro and Junko, Mondo absolutely cannot hide the fact that he acts nothing like Kiyotaka, though this is surprisingly fine to everyone else, because unlike Junko who plastered herself onto literally everything, Mondo always obfuscated himself from the public spotlight, at most showing only his suits while he hid his face behind something conveniently placed. Which played primarily to his vision of an ultimate fashionista, who was above everyone and catered to the rich and powerful.

Junko Enoshima - Ultimate Moral Compass

This was a fun one, I decided to let her have her red hair because I believe it to be the "natural" look of her hair, while attaching little clips of dyed hair to her buns as a replacement to keep her shape sorta and keep the strawberry blonde somwehere on her. Understand that while she is the "moral compass" she is still pretty deranged, and the only reason she focuses so much on keeping everyone on their best behavior is because it's endlessly entertaining to her to make her fellow moral committee members upset when she blatantly makes a mockery of the rules while still keeping kids on their best behavior to make a point.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru - Ultimate Fashionista and Tyrant, the Iron Hand of Despair

Taka's design I wanted to sort of focus on this sort of, holier-than-thou idea, where I wanted to make him look a lot fancier and upper-class than Junko does in his standard highschool fit compared to him. I wanted him to have an upper-crust sort of look

now, it would be unrealistic for all 16 of them to be besties, there are definitely cliques, but it's pretty drama free. they are all mostly mature enough to be chill with each other

here are a few groups i think would spend the most time together:

aoi, sakura, chihiro. aoi and sakura immediately clicked, and became inseparable. then, chihiro joined the group. when she came out as trans, they immediately accepted her and started inviting her over for sleepovers so she could experience the teenage life a typical girl would. and, of course, aoi and sakura are all about going to the gym, so chihiro ended up tagging along. she hated it at first, but wanted to get stronger like sakura. aoi helps keep her on the wagon of exercise.

mondo, taka, mukuro. mondo and taka sort of just happened on accident, but then mukuro joined later. mondo thought she was super badass when he first met her, so he started inviting her to hangout with him and taka. at first mukuro thought taka was too uptight, but eventually his passion grew on her. they spend a lot of time playing darts, cards, and video games.

junko, sayaka, makoto. junko and sayaka clicked because their ultimates both made them extremely famous, and they understand what it's like to be idolized and followed. and they both absolutely adore makoto, so they ended up kind of following him around, and he loves them both too. junko often takes them off to splurge at the mall, and sayaka forces them to do karaoke with her from time to time. junko is such a flirt, it's how she shows affection to her friends, and she loves to fluster them both.

kyoko, celeste, byakuya. i don't want to say these three are the most intelligent of the group, but i would say they are the most mature. byakuya can barely stand to be around his classmates most of the time, but it's refreshing to be around some people who share his level of intelligence. celeste somehow always ropes them into playing cards. but they also like to just sit down and talk from time to time. they are all invested in each other's futures. and, all three of them happen to love tea, so they drink it almost every time they are together, sometimes even going out to tea shops.

now i'm going to pair each character with who i think they would spend most of their time with one on one. (basically who is whose best friend?)

aoi and sakura (literally ride or die, the most beautiful friendship you'll ever see)

mukuro and junko (sisters so of course they are inseparable, they really do love each other)

makoto and sayaka (everyone thinks they are dating but they aren't.... yet)

kyoko and celeste (both of them are very conservative on the outside but when they are together they are the same as any other teenage girl)

leon and yasuhiro (weed bros and metal heads definitely)

mondo and taka (most beautiful bromance ever you can't deny)

toko and byakuya (under different circumstances/environment like in a school au i think their relationship dynamic would be very different)

chihiro and hifumi (both nerds lmfao it just makes sense.)

general headcanon:

when high school is just a distant memory, they hold annual class reunions to keep the memories alive, and they take turns hosting it at each of their houses

"Sayaka! Open the door! You need to calm down! Let's just talk about this!" Leon's fist banged on the bathroom door.

"Don't come inside! Please don't hurt me!"

He let out a frustrated sigh at her words and looked down to see the knife in his hand. "Oh jeez-" he set it on the farthest side of the dresser and came back to the door, but doesn't knock anymore.

"Sayaka?" He tried to make his voice as gentle as possible, like he's talking to a scared animal.

"Please!" Her voice was wobbly. He could clearly imagine her crying.

Leon turned around and leaned against the door, "I'm not coming in. Let's talk."

"N-no..." Soft sobbing.

He spent a few moments looking for something to say. "Why me?"

He waited almost a minute till a feeble voice piped up.

"I knew you'd come if I asked."

He could tell she was leaning against the door too, but sitting on the floor. So he sat down too.

A beat.

"Do you... hate me or something?"

"...No. I don't hate anyone here." she took a second to breathe, "I don't want to hurt anyone."

Even though Leon could see the damning evidence of that being untrue--the katana and its sheath on the ground, her knife on the dresser, cut slash marks on walls and floor--he still had a feeling she was telling the truth.

"So why then?"

"I have to leave." Sayaka's voice was full of conviction. Leon could feel goosebumps form on his arms. "..my friends... they're not safe. I saw in my video- something happened to them! Our lives as pop stars- everything I've worked towards- gone! I-I... I have to get out of here."

Leon thought back to his own video he watched mere hours ago.

"We're rooting for you, dude!" On the screen, Leon's best friend flashed a big smile and a thumbs up. Next to him were two more of their friends, all who he's known since childhood. "Good luck with the baseball stuff-" they all broke into laughter. Then the boy on the right said, "no, seriously, good luck with the ultimate musician thing. You're gonna need it, too." "Cause you sound like a dying horse!" "Shut up," the other was pushed out of shot with a smile. "Don't listen to him. You got this. We're rooting for you." "You better come home and visit as much as you can though!" "We love you, bud." "Gay." Suddenly, a horrible, horrible voice played over the paused clip. It was Monokuma.

"Leon Kuwata, The Ultimate Baseball Star... amazing in the diamond, and quite ambitious with his music dreams. What nice friends he has waiting for him outside the academy! But- oh no! What happened here?!" The video cut to the same setting of their school's bleachers next to the baseball diamond. But now it was abandoned, with what looked like ash blowing in the wind. Some parts of the metal benches were obviously scraped or slightly caved it. There was blood that slowly dripped down the steps, but the worst part was at the top. A human thumb. The screen then cut to black with giant red words, "Look for the answer after graduation!"

A knot formed in Leon's throat at the memory.

"Your friends, too, huh?"
