anyone else sick of the “lol sorcerers are rich kids who get everything they want lol”?

like no you have to cultivate that shit. like artistic ability, you don’t just paint like leonardo davinchi day one it takes DECADES of practice. Except unlike artistic ability, if you mess up as a sorcerer, you can seriously hurt those you love.

Sorcerers aren’t just “flavorless magic users” they’re fucking cursed (especially if they’re a wild magic sorcerer) (looking at you Sips from Fool’s Gold). Saddled with a responsibility they didn’t choose.

I like to compare it to the “chosen one from birth” trope. Yeah they get cool powers, maybe a cool sword, but maybe they wanted to settle down and open a bakery. Maybe they have a love interest they feel they put in danger just by being around them. Maybe they didn’t want to save the world but feel they have to.

sorcerers can be really interesting and angsty yall are just boring

First Book Page Designs

Begging the process of designing the pages in my book, I started by drawing some rough sketches of cool occult designs I liked. I then translated my designs into my book.

Throughout this process Pinterest was my best friend. The amount of awesome occult drawings is fantastic. I wanted my book to go in many different directions, I started by drawing more occult and paranormal designs. However for my other page in my book I drew a more conspiracy themed page.

In the future I want to experiment with different designs in my book. I would like to have some nick tesla and leonardo davinchi inspired pages.

Cool trivia from the Good Omens book that didn’t make it into the T.V show

I haven’t finished the book yet so I’ll add more eventually. This is also more focused on Crowley and Aziraphale but here we go

- Crowley wears snakeskin shoes (presuming he’s wearing shoes in the first place)

- He also has a tendency to hiss when he forgets himself and doesn’t blink that much

- Crowley invented Welsh TV, value added tax, and Manchester (and he was really proud of the latter)

- It was Crowley’s idea for hell to use electronics as a way of communication

- Crowley actually does remember what heaven was like and he says it’s similar to hell in some ways

- Crowley has only bought gas for his Bentley once and it was only to get a free James Bond bullet hole transfer

- Crowley slept through the entirety of the 19th century with the exception of waking up in 1832 to use the bathroom

- Crowley explicitly likes humans (“because he rather liked people. It was a major failing in a demon”)

- When Crowley got a commendation for the Spanish Inquisition, he didn’t even know what it was at first. He went to go check it out and consequently got drunk for a week straight

- 1020 was when the arrangement first became a thing
