Leox Gyasi
Tumblr media
This man is not just my favorite character from the High Republic series but also one of my favorite characters in Star Wars in general. I feel like he's not talked about enough due to him being in the High Republic and not many people giving those books and comic a chance, unfortunately :(
Tumblr media
Leox is one of the few confirmed asexual characters in Star Wars, and it fits with his personality and character so perfectly. He acts as if he has already figured out how the galaxy works and will tell you his knowledge if you'll listen. The man is also very compassionate, taking Affie Hollow under his wing to become a pilot of her own and later becoming their own little family alongside Geode. Also, I think it is SO CUTE that he gave Affie a nickname like "Little Bit"!
Tumblr media
All in all I love this man and I hope they use him more in the upcoming High Republic phase 3 books. I also hope more people will read the High Republic books and comics because they are such a fun read, and I NEED more people talking about him.

Anyway on a fun lighter note here's some canonically asexual (and a couple aromantic) characters.
DC
Connor Hawke - Confirmed in comics last year, also confirmed to be alloromantic.
Roshanna Chatterji - Confirmed ace in "The movement" comics, also implied aro due to context.
Spooner - Confirmed in episode 10 season 7 (If I remember right) of Legends of tomorrow, also implied aro due to context.
Star Wars
Vernestra Rwoh - Confirmed aroace by Justina Ireland, there was also a line in book implying.
Leox Gyasi - Lines in book and I'm assuming from the article Claudia Gray expanded somewhere.
Vi Moradi - Elizabeth Schaefer explained that it was Delilah S. Dawsons idea
Sola Nabberie- Confirmed by E.K Johnson implied in book
Obi-Wan Kenobi - Implied bi (or pan) and/or araoce in Padawan
Other TV shows
Abbi in the impefects - Said in episode one and mentioned again later
Florence in sex education - Haven't watched it but heard the clip
Todd in Bojack Horseman - Same again
Marvel
Gwenpoole - technically the words haven't been said but apparently she's been seen with an ace flag during marvel voices pride
Nadia Van Dyne (my favourite) - Confirmed aroace and quorioromantic on twitter by Unstoppable Wasp writer Jeremy Whitley, also apparently by Sam Maggs but I haven't seen that.
And last but not least Yelena Belova - Confirmed by Devin Grayson because you should not be able to take back confirming an identity.
Also heavily implied throughout "Pale Little Spider"

For @laughingphoenixleader, my Geode Kills The Chancellor ficlet! Link to original ask
Commander Fox was having a long morning. Really, the past few years had been this way, but he was choosing to focus on this particular day.
There had been a bomb threat in the Senate Building, and so he’d had to conduct evacuations. It had turned out to be false, but that hadn’t been discovered until after Senator Chuchi had pushed into a wall, and the Senator from Hosnian Prime had slipped and broken his wrist.
After that there were all manner of other security things to check, flimsi work to fill out, and it was only noon. Fox had a headache, and he was wishing for another cup of caf when he heard shouts and a crash from down the hall.
He was very tempted to ignore it— but the sound came from the Chancellor’s office. And that was not good. It was, after all, his entire job to make sure the Chancellor didn’t die.
(whether he deserved it or not was another story.)
Getting to his feet, he headed down the hall. Two of the Corrie Guard— Harrow and Tucker— were outside the door. They were both staring at the door to the Chancellor’s office, but jumped to attention at his approach. “What happened?” Fox asked, not bothering with formalities.
“Sir,” Harrow said. “We’re not sure. We just heard a loud crash and voices in there— not the Chancellor’s. He forbade anyone to enter, though. He was in the middle of a personal comm call.”
Frowning, Fox said, “I’d say this might be an exception.” Moving to the door, he knocked sharply. “Chancellor? Sir, are you alright?”
There was no response, but he heard muffled voices. One sounded like a girl’s voice, and Fox’s frown deepened. Something wasn’t right here.
He keyed the door switch, but it didn’t budge. Pulling a blaster, he told Harrow and Tucker, “Stand back.”
Both of them hastily scrambled backwards, and Fox fired, blowing the door panel to smithereens. It hissed open, and Fox stalked inside, his blaster at the ready.
The room was mainly undisturbed— with the exception of the desk, where the table was overturned. Three figures stood in the room, and as Fox leveled his blaster at them, he realized that not one of them was the Chancellor.
One was a teenage girl, with dark curly hair, a blue jumpsuit, and a deep frown as she studied the room around them, arms folded. “This doesn’t seem right,” she said. “It looks like we’re back on Coruscant, doesn’t it?”
“It surely does,” agreed her companion, a tall, lanky man with dark blonde hair and a scruffy beard. His shirt was open, revealing several strings of beads, and he had an easy going air. “But I’m not the navigator here. Geode?”
This comment was directed towards the third figure in the room, the one Fox was trying to ignore. Mainly because it was, in fact, a rock. A massive, gray rock, far taller and wider than him.
“Hands in the air,” Fox barked at the two humans, deciding to stick with his initial instinct to ignore the rock for now. Mainly because he really didn’t have the energy for this.
The girl did so, and the man followed suit a little more slowly. “Easy there, friend,” he said. “We mean you no harm.”
“What have you done with the Chancellor?” Fox demanded.
“Told you we were on Coruscant,” the girl said.
“Seems you’re right, Little Bit. Allow me to introduce myself,” the man told Fox. “I’m Leox Gyasi. This here is my boss, Affie Hollow, and our talented navigator, Geode. He’s a Vintian from Vint, and the best navigator around.”
“Is he talking about the rock?” Fox heard Tucker whisper to Harrow as Leox continued.
“We had no intention of coming here— bit of an accident, really. We were helping move some Jedi relics, and you know how those can be. Downright temperamental, the will of the universe is. So here we wound up.”
Clearing her throat, Affie said, “What he means is that we were helping our Jedi friends move some relics, and one that we accidentally opened—”
“Totally accidental,” Leox assured him. “Just a slip of the hand.”
“—Transported us here,” Affie finished. “Judging by what Reath said… do you think this is the future or an alternate universe?”
Scratching at his chin, Leox mused, “Could be either, could be both. You never know.”
“That doesn’t answer my question,” Fox pointed out.
“Oh yeah, your Chancellor,” Leox said, glancing around. “Haven’t seen him. Geode?”
Geode didn’t respond— at least not that Fox heard— but Affie let out a gasp. “Oh. Oh, no.”
Following her gaze, Fox saw a hand sticking out from under the Vintian’s flinty base. “You’re joking.”
“Huh,” Leox said. “Guess Geode landed on him as we showed up here.”
“You’re—” Fox started, but was cut off by Harrow’s voice.
“Sir! You— you should see this.”
Fox turned to see the clone standing at the desk, staring at the holocom. “The— the last call on here. It was to Separatist leader, Count Dooku.”
Fox’s eyebrows shot up. You’re kidding. There was no way their chancellor was in direct contact with the enemy.
Unless, of course, he was.
Sighing, Fox pulled out his comlink. “I’m calling the Jedi. You three, stay put.”
“Yes, sir,” Affie said with a sigh.
“Right on, my man,” Leox said.
Geode said nothing. Because he was a rock. This is absolutely ridiculous. But, as the comlink rang, Fox couldn’t help but think, On the other hand, this probably means I don’t have to do my flimsi work.

Queer Star Wars Characters (Round 4): General Bracket Match 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moran | Identity: mlm | Media: Jedi Survivor
Moran is one of the residents of Rambler’s Reach Outpost, which Cal can have many optional conversations with. He is available from the start of the game, where he sits at the bar, sadly drinking his days away. He is initially rude to Cal, seeing his attempts at rebellion as foolishness. As Cal talks to him more, he reveals more of his past and becomes better inclined to the player. He reveals that he used to be a Republic tax collector, a position he used to cover for a smuggling side business. There he met a man named Dreyo and fell in love with him. When the Empire came to power, Dreyo wanted to leave the business, and when Moran wouldn’t join him, he left on his own. Moran was eventually caught, and he had to flee to Koboh. There he became a fixture in Pyloon’s Saloon, with Greez even allowing him to store his stuff in the back. Cal eventually convinces him to send a message to Dreyo, letting him know where he is. Moran does so, grumbling all the way and letting Cal know that there’s a good chance the message won’t be received. However the prospect of reuniting with Dreyo makes him marginally more optimistic and kinder to Turgle.
Leox Gyasi | Identity: aro/ace | Media: The High Republic Phase I
Leox Gyasi was the pilot/captain of the ship the Vessel, who ended up entangled in the discovery of the Drengir on the Amaxine station, a diplomatic mission with the Hutts, and the fall of Starlight Beacon, becoming a trusted ally of the Jedi. He was created to be an extreme subversion of the archetypical Han Solo-inspired scoundrel archetype. He’s a space hippie and what you’d get if Yoda wasn’t a Jedi and smoked spice instead.
He crews the Vessel with his found family consisting of the living rock Geode (who does fuck) and the young Affie Hallow- who became the captain of the Vessel after the dissolution of the Bryne Guild. He’s a fun guy with an appearance inspired by 90s Mathew McConaughey.

Queer Star Wars Characters (Round 1): General Bracket Match 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ariole Yu | Identity: mlm | Media: Doctor Aphra comics
Ariole Yu was a lieutenant in the Canto Bight based crime syndicate the Sixth Kin, who had adopted him. When he was younger, he had a romantic relationship with another member of the Sixth Kin- Just Lucky. Lucky later left the Sixth Kin and their relationship, as long as he could keep paying for the debts of his brother. They were forced back together when ordered to kill their mentor, Galin Crae, who had defected to the new Crimson Dawn.
To assassinate Crae, the two of them traveled to the Vermillion under the cover of the auction for Han Solo (currently frozen in carbonite). They fought Crae, refusing his offer to join Crimson Dawn. After they lost, they were thrown in the brig where they joined Aphra and Sana Starros is escaping. However, Aphra eventually stranded the two. Qi’ra gave her pitch for Crimson Dawn and then let them leave. Back on Canto Bight, the Sixth Kin attempted to bait them into killing each other. They saw through this and decided to take a job from Ronen Tagge to steal the Spark Eternal.
To do this job, they confronted a Spark Eternal possessed Aphra on the Vermillion. But seeing what they were up against, they decided to hit the bricks. As they fled, they ran into Sana Starros’ “Save Aphra” crew, running to confront/save Aphra. Just Lucky ended up convincing Ronen to save Sana’s team after they were defeated and their ship destroyed. Sana convinced Ronen that his only choice was to kill Domina, and that her team would join him to repay their “debt”. They joined Ronen in his Crimson Dawn supported coup for the Tagge Corporation, which turned out to be a trap Domina and Sana set to lure Ronen and his supporters into the open. Sana arranged for all of their debts to the Tagge Corporation to be forgiven, so Ariole and Just Lucky joined her in attempting to save Aphra.
