a book tag game! thanks, @watsonshoneybee! i’ve been reading a lot more fic than actual books in the last several years, so this might be a struggle, lol, but we’ll see how it goes...
last book I bought: Janelle Monáe’s The Memory Librarian! i haven’t read it yet, but i’m v excited about it
borrowed: like from a friend? i have NO idea. from the library? i also don’t really know that with any certainty, but it might have been the audiobook of They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera
was gifted: it wasn’t exactly A Gift TM, but i was given a friend’s extra copy of In Case You Get Hit by a Bus by Amy Schneiderman and Adam Seifer. the last Actual Gift, i think, was Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
gave/lent to someone: my coworker borrowed Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House two halloweens ago and finally gave it back in march
started: i guess technically Dracula since i signed up for dracula daily, though i’ve read it several times before. otherwise, the only thing i’ve currently got that i’ve started, enjoy, and intend to finish but haven’t yet gotten back to is A World Between by Emily Hashimoto (emily, if you follow me on this blog, i’m sorry!)
finished: One True Outcome by KD Casey, it’s a gay baseball romance because of course it is, have you met me? lolol
gave 5 stars: honestly i have no idea the last time i read a book i truly, 5-star level loved, so i’ll just rec an old one from my bookshelf, A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore. the first time i read it back in college, it felt like a book written for my exact aesthetic and sense of humor
gave 2 stars: probably House of Leaves by Mark Z Danielewski, which i really wanted to like and thought had glimmers of promise. in the end though i thought it was mostly bullshit, written by someone who def thinks the book is smarter than it actually is
didn’t finish: 4, 3, 2, 1 by Paul Auster. i am always into the idea of parallel lives/multiple universes and the different paths we could have taken, so i really wanted this to be good, but it was SUCH a slog. i made it about 75% of the way through before i just couldn’t do it anymore. it doesn’t help that it’s 800+ pages
tagging: if they want to do it, @patrickredactedbrewer, @deandykery, @lesbianchrispine, and of course @olreid
HAPPY BDAY MEGAN!!! you’re truly one of the best people i’ve ever had the good fortune to know in my life and on this planet. i hope you’re having a wonderful day!!!
ALLISON my beloved!! Thank you so much <3 I’m so glad that I fell in love with your sherlock writing years ago and that we’ve continued to be friends through many different fandoms. You’re such a delight to me!

i don’t know this reference but i support you!!
robert sheehan is an irish actor most recently seen in The Umbrella Academy as the queer character Klaus. Most of these gifs are from that show, but I’ve loved him since he was Nathan on Misfits.
And he seems to just get more queer and amazing and ridiculous as he goes, both in his characters and real life, so i’m much more happy with referencing him than Johnny Depp.
I wish 😭 if I teleported there i maybe wouldn't teleport back tho,, I am tryna figure out where to move for a cheap just outside large city apartment living though for in a year or two once I have a hairdresser license so,, considered 👀
