Author’s note: This is my late christmas gift to you all, this also has no connection to any of my previous Fics and I may or may not post another new fic tomorrow we’ll see what happens. I was also thinking about maybe writing something not about the Owl house but maybe about other shows that I enjoy so we’ll see how everything works out.

“Alador, what's wrong? Why are you crying?”

“Nothing’s wrong Raine, I’m fine.”

“No you’re not Alador, come on you can tell me anything.”

“No I can’t.”

“Alador, you know you can trust me, I’m your friend.”

“Well, ok but swear you’ll never tell anyone.”

“Of course, anything said between us stays between us.”

“I…I-I broke up with Darius today.”

“What! Why? You both are crazy about each other.”

“My parents arranged a marriage for me with Odalia and I don’t marry her then they swore to make sure Darius will never get into the Abomination coven and that’s been Darius’s dream forever. what kind of person would I be if I let that happen?”

“Why didn’t you just tell Darius that?”

“I didn’t think of that, but now it’s too late Darius probably won’t even breathe in my direction now.”

“...Well Alador you might just have to try.”

“What's the point? I’ll still have to marry Odalia and you swore you wouldn’t tell anyone.”

“Ok, you’re right Alador, I gave you my word so I won’t tell anyone.”

“Thanks Raine.”

Despite the fact this conversation happened over thirty years ago Raine still remembered it. Well more like they remembered it after they started the rebellion with Eberwolf and Darius and Darius was always talking about ‘That hack’ A.K.A Alador.

On the outside their rivalry might have looked childish or just driven by jealousy but for Raine who knew the actual backstory of the two it was actually quite heartbreaking to watch.

But Raine was a witch of their word so they at the time just listened to Darius rant about Alador. Even if Darius wouldn’t admit it to Raine or anyone else, they could still see Darius still had some kind of feelings towards Alador but most likely just tried to bury them away and turn them into spite towards him.

Now with the death of Belos the Boiling isles had returned to something near normal. There was now a permanent portal between the Demon realm and the Human realm, Raine had gotten back together with Eda, Alador had divorced Odalia and he was now working on an invention that could remove coven sigils with Raine and Darius helping him work on it.

Darius was still trying to act like he didn’t care for Alador but Raine regnonized the way that Darius would look at Alador when they were both working as the same look that he’d look at Alador with when they were dating.

Maybe if Darius wasn’t so bitter about the break up they would actually happen but that would mean some one who knew why Alador broke up with Darius (Raine) would have to tell Darius and Raine gave Alador their word and they didn’t want to break Alador’s trust.

Raine needed Advice from someone who was stable, rational and had self-control.

Darius arrived at Alador’s lab with Raine, though Darius was the old one talking, Raine was being very quiet. Alador also took note of this but let the thought go and continued on with his work. By lunch Darius had enough of the silent treatment and asked.

“Raine, are you ok? You’ve been awfully quiet.”

Raine’s arms stiffened and he looked away but still nervously answered. “I’m ok.”

Alador took the initiative and spoke next. “So why have you been so quiet all day?”

Raine pressed their lips together as their eyes darted around the room, this silence lasted only a few seconds though.

“I accidentally drank a vial of blabber serum instead of my migraine medicine this morning and I”ve been trying to avoid talking all day because I don’t want to say something that wasn’t meant to be said out loud.” Raine blurted out all in one breath.

Darius and Alador looked at eachother then back at Raine. “That’s all.” Darius shrugged, “Raine come on, you're an open book, you don’t have any secrets to spill.”

“Actually I know a lot of secrets.” Raine’s expression conveyed a look of hesitation and embarrassment by the blush on their face. “Like Hunter’s secret fear of thunderstorms, that time I caught Eberwolf sleep walking through the castle, why Alador broke up with you, Eda’s unpaid tab for apple blood at-.”

“Hang on, hang on, hang on, back up.” Darius held out his hands in a stopping motion easing Raine to silence themself. “Did you just say why Alador broke up with me?”

“Yes.” Raine answered back to Darius, Darius glanced back at Alador who was frozen like a deer in headlights on the freeway. Darius turned back to Raine with a hint of a flush on his face. And then came the million dollar question past his lips.

“Raine, why did Alador break-up with me?”

Alador began shaking his head back and forth vigorously at Raine but it was of no use.

“Alador’s parents were forcing him to marry Odalia and he didn’t want to but when he said no they swore to make sure you’d never get accepted into the Abomination coven and Alador knew how much that meant to you, so he broke up with you and the only reason I know is because I found him crying in the bathroom and I promised that I wouldn’t tell anyone.” Raine’s voice was squeaky through his explanation and after they were finished talking they shut their eyes tightly unwilling to look at the two witches.

Darius’s world went blank for a minute, after the break up Darius had always looked at that snake (Odalia) and wondered how Alador could be so blind to her abuse and manipulation. Why had he chosen to be with her when he and Alador were happy together? This led Darius into thinking that he wasn’t good enough and that was a burden he had to fight for a long time.

But it turned out that Alador didn’t break up with him because he didn’t love him quite the opposite. Alador broke up with him because he loved him and wasn’t selfish enough to hold him back from his dreams just because he wanted to be with him even if that just made things worse for him in his life.

He had done it all for him, endured all of those years with Odalia for him.

“Alador?” Darius looked back to Alador who’s eyes were fixated on the ground and his right hand was fisted in the fabric of his coat and the blush was clear on his face. Darius sighed, they couldn’t go on like this. Something had to change.

“Raine?” Raine’s eyes opened to look at Darius and he waited for Darius to speak again. “Can you give us a minute?” Darius’s eyes darted to the door then back at Raine.

“I’ll go make myself some tea.” Raine quietly excused themself and quickly walked out of the room.

Darius turned on his heels to face Alador who still refused to look at him, Darius knew that it was now or never and took a deep but silent breath then spoke softly to Alador.

“Is what Raine said true? About you breaking up with me?” Darius knew it was a dumb question but needed it to be confirmed for him to fully believe it.

“Yeah it’s true.” Alador admitted. “I’m sorry, I just didn’t want you to be held back.” Alador blinked a few times, probably trying to disguise the tears in his eyes but Darius had already taken note of them.

“Don’t apologize Al.” Alador froze, Darius hadn’t called him that nickname in so many years. “You’ve really just wanted me to be happy, even after we broke up?” Darius felt his throat tighten as he finished his sentence.

“It wasn’t easy but I knew how much being in the Abomination coven meant to you and I also figured you’d find someone new, sooner or later.” Tears were now rolling down Alador’s cheek yet he was trying to wipe them away.

Darius acting on pure impulse took both of Alador’s hands in his and spoke again. “What if I don’t want to find someone new, I like what I already have.” Darius watched a flush made its way up Alador’s face “or at least what I used to have.” Darius added.

Alador’s face was now bright red; his eyes quickly went from Darius’s eyes to his lips then back down to the floor. “I…I still…love you too, Dar.” Alador mumbled and Darius smiled hearing his old nickname.

Darius leaned into Alador and captured his lips in a tender kiss, even after all these years the kiss still felt familiar, the way Darius’s hand fonded through Alador’s hair while the other rested in Alador’s hand, it all just felt so comforting and like home.

The next day at work Alador and Darius told Raine they were going to try again and Raine couldn’t have been happier for them.

But Raine really needed to hand it to Hooty, they had not thought that his insane plan would work.

i laid out my thoughts below - this list includes all of the characters i write for as organised alphabetically

note : these are only my headcanons so feel free to interpret otherwise or let me know your thoughts on the topic - i’d love to hear them!

[i’m also polyamorous so please don’t take this as an attack on poly people - this is just what vibe i get from each character]

Adrian Graye Vernworth

would be neutral ; would be alright with casual non-monogamy on your part and his, but probably wouldn’t be the happiest about having any metamours or thirds in your relationship - but could be convinced.

Alador Blight

would be fine with a polyamorous partner ; i feel like alador is probably monogamous but would be fine with you having other relationships - just don’t expect to have a shared third with him, he’s committed to you not someone else.

Amity Blight

would be fine with a polyamorous partner ; this would probably be a case of you being part of a triad with her and luz, so expect to have her as a metamour at least - she’d probably be okay with you branching out beyond that but prefers a closed poly relationship over anything else.

Boscha

wouldn’t be okay with having an open relationship ; is probably fine with a closed unit and having a metamour or two (though she probably wouldn’t play nice with them), but prefers monogamy for the most part - would only consider a poly dynamic if she really liked you.

Collector

would be perfectly fine with a polyamorous partner ; doesn’t expect you to be 100% romantically committed to them and doesn’t mind having any metamours so long as they can get along (and play with them) - just let them know what you want and they’ll accommodate you.

Darius Deamonne

neutral on the topic ; darius seems like someone who would be comfortable in a monogamous or polyamorous dynamic, so having a poly partner wouldn’t be much of an issue for him so long as everyone cleans up after themselves that is - 50/50 whether he’d have any other partners, though.

Edalyn Clawthorne

would tolerate a polyamorous relationship ; you’d probably end up being metamours with raine anyway if you’re with eda as they’re kind of a package deal, so she’d be more than up for dating a poly person.

Edric Blight

would be fine with a polyamorous partner ; it would take an adjustment period for him to get used to the dynamic, but ed would definitely branch out himself and have other relationships and casual flings of his own volition - may not reach out to his metamours, it depends on whether they’d ever actually meet in person.

Emira Blight

would accept a polyamorous partner ; em may very well have a slight polyamorous-lean to her and would comfortably settle into a closed triad dynamic, but would also accept a complete open relationship if that was what you wanted (though would probably only have one serious relationship outside of yours) - would probably make an effort with metamours to make things easier for you.

Hunter

confused but mostly supportive ; hunter grew up completely isolated from relationship things, so he probably wouldn’t give polyamory much thought until it was actively brought up - and even then, he’d likely be okay with you branching out but likely wouldn’t do very much himself (not just because he’s hopeless when it comes to flirting)

Lilith Clawthorne

happy to have a polyamorous partner ; just wants to see you happy, so while she’ll remain relatively monogamous she’s also happy to meet and get to know her metamours and help you plan things with them (especially if they’re as excited about the deadwardian era as she is).

Luz Noceda

probably also polyamorous herself ; you can’t be with luz without being somewhat close with amity as well, so having a poly partner would be ideal for luz - she’d also be the type to reach out to and befriend her metamours.

Mattholomule

wouldn’t want a polyamorous relationship ; mattholomule probably wouldn’t be the happiest with sharing a lover with others or having other partners at all - so being with a poly person either wouldn’t happen at all or would only happen if he was very very interested in the person and willing to accept that part of them.

Odalia Blight

wouldn’t particularly care ; isn’t the most committed person romantically and wouldn’t care if you had other relationships so long as she was your nesting/anchor partner - but she won’t make nice with her metamours unless it would benefit you both.

Philip Wittebane / Emperor Belos

wouldn’t tolerate a polyamorous relationship ; this man is a puritan christian so he would probably be limited to strict monogamy, potentially being incredibly possessive over his partner - so polyamory is off the table with him.

Raine Whispers

would tolerate a polyamorous relationship ; raine is one of the most supportive people ever and would probably lean towards a closed poly relationship with eda and any metamours they’d have through you - so bring it up and they’d be open.

Steve

neutral on the idea ; steve is probably completely monogamous but wouldn’t expect you to change yourself for him - would also probably reach out to his metamours to plan surprises and gifts for you and things like that (pretty chill).

Terra Snapdragon

neutral on the topic ; wouldn’t mind you being polyamorous/having others but isn’t romantically poly herself - might have a few flings here and there but don’t expect to have metamours on her end.

Willow Park

neutral on the topic ; whilst i feel like willow is probably more monogamous-leaning, she likely wouldn’t be too bothered about having a poly partner and may even be happy to help you plan dates or get to know your other partners to some extent (would bring plants as a peace offering).

Odalia is a vile person who frankly couldn't care less about anyone other then herself unless they're useful to her. but she wasn't always like that, once she did honestly care for her friends.

that's what really makes it hurt.

back in Hexside she was a generally nice kid; rather competitive, bossy, and self-centered, but you can say the same of Lilith. she had really liked Alador, and had a bit more confidence in asking him out and genuinely didn't understand why Darius stayed mad for so long, and on that she had a fair point, as Darius would later admit. for a while, she was fine, but ambitious.

thing is, she cared for her friends and boyfriend, but even then she saw them as a means to an end. she saw witches who were powerful or hard-working enough to achieve anything they set their minds to, liking them was a bonus. she always considered how these connections would benefit her.

Darius stopped talking to her and Alador the day she asked him out, Eda was a write-off the moment she rejected the Emperor's Coven, let alone when she changed into the owl beast, and she hadn't known Raine very long and they took Darius' side anyhow.

she kept contact with Lilith and Perry. this is already canon for Lilith, and from this we now know how Lilith became Amity's mentor; a relationship that was distant by design, as Odalia didn't really speak to Lilith often until she became coven head, as she knew she was a soft touch under her severe facade and had the authority to get Odalia to ease up on the family. Perry was mainly used for pr, they were classmates and he always had trouble saying no to her.

i feel like the shift happens before Odalia and Al have kids. since they are 48 at the start of the series, they must have been 32 when the twins were born. Odalia would have wanted to hit the ground running right after they graduated, and probably married Al just as fast both out of passion and convenience in terms of combining their finances. that's about 14 years for the relationship to degrade into a business partnership as Odalia fixated on expanding the business. along the way she gets a fake brand and doesn't tel Al, because even she's suspicious but isn't willing to lose any social standing.

they have the twins and she initially leaves most of the childcare to Alador, she's long since lost the ability to care about people unless they're useful and that extends to her children. she uses Al to manipulate all three kids, always has him by her side when telling them what to do, telling him that it's what was best for them, that they would thank the both of them for it.

aside from policing their appearance and grades, or threatening to put them to work to Al, she could care less about what happens to the twins, Amity is the one with better opportunity for networking/spying (being the same age as Boscha), and is seemingly both more intelligent and easier to control.

after Belos makes false promises of prestige and presumably lies about the exact effect of the draining spell involving death, she ensures Amity would have been the only student not to be given a real brand.

she also ensures the twins do first, just in case someone eventually figures out the plan.

all of this is to say, the old Hex Squad is griping about how she never cared about any of them blah blah blah. she points out that no, she did actually like them back in school.

Alador remembers their dates and their wedding, so happy and sweet, Perry remembers Odalia standing up for him against bullies, Darius remembers shit talking others with her, Eda remembers sparring with her, Lilith remembers her helping her study.

it hurts. it hurts so much more than it already did. they could handle her never caring and just manipulating them all, been there done that, but she cared, and that means at some point she just... stopped.

The Owl House headcanons part 2! Let's go!

- Luz and Hunter have fought each other so many times that at this point everyone ignores them until it stops

- There's never a winner (it's Luz, she wins)

- The adults have a bet on how long it will take willow to ask hunter out

- But only Alador bets that Hunter will ask out Willow

- And the look on his face when he raked in the money is so smug that Darius has to be held back from punching him

- Hunter is very confused and willow is too enamoured with him to care but is secretly plotting

- Gus and hunter took a long time to perfect their handshake

- Gus and matty are the kinda couple who just have to look at each other to get a message across

- It infuriates those around them

- Luz and amity do eventually get their mundane slice of life date in the human world

- It was a cute picnic by a lake at sunset, willow made a load of flowers for them to give each other too!

- Gus and Hunter are autistic

- Alador is deaf in one ear after an accident in his workshop

- As he's a grimwalker Hunter has inherited some of Caleb's personality traits as well as physical traits the most common and obvious being the way he 'mothers' his younger siblings (Gus, I'm talking about Gus)

- They also lay in the same position that Caleb took his last breath in when asleep. It scares Gus and Luz beyond words before the open up to Hunter about it

- Because he was made hunter is acc closer in age mentally to Gus maybe even younger

- Caleb was one of the local executioners before leaving for gravesfield, but was known to be forgiving and rarely believed that the 'criminals' deserved such a death, so like many at the time, he made Philip pull the legs of the victims to make the deaths quicker and painless as well as sometimes as a way of earning a few extra coins

- Gus and Hunter have inside jokes that make no sense and will laugh so hard they cry and honestly the rest of the group are just glad they're laughing

- Hunter can't stand going into churches bc of the religious element of Belos' abuse

- Willow punches people when she's excited and it hurts but she doesn't mean for it to

- Hunter has many bruises bc of this but won't say anything bc he's a himbo

- Raine and Eberwolf will tease and prank Darius relentlessly given the chance

- Eberwolf will also bite peoples ankles if they don't like them or if they want attention

- Philip was very much a shy child and scared of everything, and was badly bullied as a result. This spurs him to be the man we know him as now

OK SO LET’S TALK ABOUT DARIUS AND ALADOR IN THAT LAST PART OF THE FINALE

Before I get into that though, I want to say that from what we’ve seen, I think Darius and Alador have some kind of potentially romantic history during their Hexside days. Maybe they started dating a little, maybe they were going to, or maybe Darius said he had feelings for Alador, but no matter what it is, I think there was some kind of romantic history that eventually ended badly, leading to Darius calling Alador “a hack” and the rivalry they seemed to have in season 2.

So now, let me show a few images from the scene right after Alador successfully removed a coven sigil.

Ok so let’s look at the progression here. Initially, Darius is amazed, literally his mouth is wide open and he’s starting because it worked, the coven sigil is gone. Then, in his amazement, he grabs Alador and starts shaking him, kind of like in a “are you seeing this, look it worked, did you see that??” kind of way. He’s amazed, he’s excited, he’s reaching for Alador and then-- And then Darius realizes what he’s doing.

Now, before I continue to ramble here, I want to point out that in order for Darius to become the Abomination Coven head and successfully be a rebel without being caught or raise suspicions, he had to be a very, very, good actor. Because of the toxic work environment that the castle was and what probably would have happened if anyone found out that Darius was a rebel (looks at the Conformatorium and possibly the petrification ceremony because at that point Darius potentially would have been viewed as a threat to Belos), Darius has been acting for a while. (Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if putting on an act was second nature to him by this point but that’s another ramble in itself, lol).

Now, back to the scene. When Darius realizes what he’s doing, he freezes. He was visibly excited, no act, no mask, and suddenly he was very close to Alador. And what did he do? He instantly moved away, turning away from Alador.

Let’s look at Darius’ body language here. Now to me, just about everything with Darius in that last image reads as defensive. He was close to Alador, and then once he realized what he was doing he instantly turned away from Alador. He’s leaning away from Alador, he has his arms crossed over his chest, which also reads as defensive, and he looks upset. Not glaring at Alador, which you’d think he would do if he was still keeping with the whole “Alador’s a hack” thing, just upset.

Or, at least half of his face does.

Let’s look at just the left half of his face for a moment. There’s a slight blush, he has one eye closed, and the side of his mouth there is turned up almost in a smile. With just that half of his expression in mind, it makes me think of someone who has a crush. Now the right half of his face. Even with just that part of his expression in mind, he doesn’t look mad at Alador, or trying to play the part of a rival... he looks upset. Hurt. Maybe a little tired. To me, it looks like someone who’s trying to remind themselves not to do something because they don’t want to get hurt.

Honestly, to me it looks like Darius is trying to tell himself not to get too close to Alador. To me, it looks like he went on the defensive, that he’s upset with himself and trying to tell himself “don’t go down this road again, you only got hurt the last time”.

My own headcanon is that Darius and Alador started dating during their Hexside days, but then Odalia made Alador break things off with Darius. It lead to a bad breakup, or at least one with a lot of hurt feelings in Darius’ case, which then led to the rivalry thing they have going on in season 2. If that’s the case, then that would explain Darius’ reactions in this scene. I admit, I could be wrong, but I think it’s a possible theory.

The Owl House pt4

*** This one is gonna be super long~! Also it has some spicy bits now the line, 18+ content so be forworn, and as always when talking about Alador they're is some spousal abuse mentioned.***

Eda and Lilith to share everything when they were little, that " with this spell declared let the pain be shared." worked both ways, when Lily got the common mold, and was stuck in bed. BAM! Suddenly Gwendolyn has to sick children.

Eda was very proud of herself, in her delirium.

Lilith had a hard time toward the end of Hexside, she saw all these lovebirds around her, (Raine/Eda & Alador/Odalia) it was confusing and something she began to bury with in her.

Eda hid a lot from Raine in the relationship of their youth, whether it be the curse or the crumbling relationship with her family, Eda didn't want to hurt Raine even if that's exactly what happened in the end.

In turn during the rebellion Raine kept thing from Eda, they just wanted to protect each other.

***AU*** After the Day of Unity, Raine and Eda renew their relationship.

The Owl House, is not a total hub of children, running around just a bunch of weirdos who, finally have a place to belong. In the Whispers-Clawthorne family.

Alador has a hard time differentiating between a suggestion and a command.

If Darius suggests he take a break/has a nap/eats and drinks something, he automatically thinks it's an order with no room for discussion.

Darius tries to remind him as often as he can that this is only a suggestion, especially if Alador responds on instinct with a robotic answer ie; yes dear.

Darius wants him to do these things because he cares not because he want to control him.

Alador has a hard time making decisions for himself, after 20 + years of being told what to do, where to do it and how, just to appease Odalia.

Now that he has so much freedom not only for decisions for himself but more important responsibility for his children, it becomes horribly overwhelming, ( ie; cue burnouts and meltdowns.)

His children and Darius help him the best they can, it cause shame at first, and lots of guilt but his support system has been the best it's been in decades.

One of Darius favourite things to is pamper Alador.

ie: Drawing him a bath and the man knows how to do it, bath salts, bubble bath, he even makes sure he uses smells that do not give Alador sensory overload, (Light lavender scent perhaps.)

He helps him shave, sometimes they will do face masks together, Alador doesn't like the slimy face masks that come in the packages, but he will do clay or cream masks.

Sometimes Alador will eat the cucumber slices off Darius' eyes, just to bug him, which earns him an indignant look from the head witch.

After the pampering session would usually lead to more intimate times afterward.

Alador is a switch, while Darius can be a real pillow princess.

Alador is on top half the time, but he likes to be given orders, and be told what to do and how to do it, especially if he gets praises afterward, he definitely has a praise kink.

Darius has had a fair few sexual relationships in his adult life. While Alador has only had sex with one person in his lifetime, the mother of his children, and those experiences weren't....the best.

All and all Alador is new to a lot of things. He is bisexual (head canons) but he has never been with anyone but a women, Darius as a gay man (Headcanon), is thrilled to show him this brave new world.

Darius is happy to show that sex can be a fun and pleasure experience for both lovers.

Alador shares a particular trait with his son Edric, they both get easily distracted very easily, especially if it pertains to their special interest. It constantly exasperates their love ones.

Alador could be having a lovely picnic date with his lover, when a fairy/butterfly/insect flies by, and that boy is gone.

Cue Darius' facepalming and going after him to make sure he doesn't fall to his death.

Before joining the abomination coven darius did also some healing magic

He was and still is fairly good with potions

While he has quite the knowledge about beasts and beast keeping he has very little talent for the spells (and also no real desire to actually deal with most beasts)

While at hexside he was not sure if he was jealous of alador and odalias building romance and if so of whom he was actually jealous of

Turns out he is aromantic and was just frustrated with aladors obliviousness

He thought adrian might be worth having a crush on when he first saw him. It lasted exactly as long as it took adrian to open his mouth in darius proximity

He sees adrian as a pathetic wannabe. Don't ever suggest they are anything alike

(Darius mentor was greatly amused by his following rant)

He never participated in the bonesborough brawl because he thinks everyone can brawl and it shows little about ones skill

Darius grew up with his singel mom for the most part and she only remarried in his mid teens

He gets along well with his step dad for the most part but does not really see him as his dad. More like a confidant or a guardian he is close to

It's kinda what he tries to go for with hunter later

Darius is a abomination prodigy and had the choice to either train under the abomination coven head or the golden guard who took an interest in him

His decision came down to snot (literally). He initially was going to turn the golden guard down

Back at hexside he, raine, odalia, lilith and some other started a drama club

Darius used to admire odalias drive and cunningness before it went downhill with her and he started being mentored by the golden guard

Both things strongly contributed to his and aladors falling out

Darius will act aloof and all but cares about the wellbeing of people, especially children. But he is terrible at interacting with kids, especially babies

On that note darius cannot handle people crying. Babies? His mom watching some drama? Friends crying from happiness? Doesn't matter. Darius flight instinct is triggered immediatelly and he is like 'titan help me'

He likes to pretend he is above it and too mature for causing trouble like eda does but the truth is he is just very good in not getting caught (unlike eda who loves to brag)

He also acts like he is too good for aladors stupid experiments but alador would rope him in 9/10 anyways

Before coming to bonesborough he lived in latissa where beast speak is a lot more common

Him and lilith went to grom together once out of convinience but he ditched her halfway through anyway

Darius is not a very good staff flyer

He tries not to think about how the few people he lets close do a lot of stuff that drives him nuts either on purpose or unintentionally

His most cringeworthy memory is being stuck in a hut durung the boiling rain with eda and raine (during their are they dating or not? No one knows, not even them phase) and odalia and alador (with him oblivious to her by then painfully direct advances)

He generally hates crimes against fashion but especially mismatched socks

Darius figured out his mentor and hunter were grimwalkers some time after his mentors death. He suspects there were more but he does not know the extent of it

His mentor very much did NOT want darius to get involved once he did learn more of who belos really was

Darius is very good at faking, lying and pretending on the spot

On contrast he struggles to comfort others because he often is blunt and comes across as harsh

Darius was and still is very direct but during his time with the golden guard he got to understand politics better and got a good feeling on when to bite his tongue or be more subtle

It's not so much that he hasn't a temper and more that he does have a pretty good grip on it usually. But man you do not want him to be mad at you

He reads rulers reach (or tries to anyway) when he learnd hunter is a fan of the book so he knows what the kid likes. He thinks it's absolutelly horrendous

Upon learning king is a titan, darius takes one look at him and goes 'i do not subscribe to this reality' and that's that

At least once he had one of his abominations hose eberwolf down when he tried to climb on him while covered in mud (and got sprinkled with watery mud in turn once eber shook his fur)

He would judge philipp wittebanes fashion so much

While darius obviously would never harm a kid, he absolutely will throw hands with them if they push the right buttons

He is very impressed (if still a little miffed) with willow for fearlessly attacking him when she thought it would come down to a fight

Eber still makes fun of him for not just telling them he will drop them at hexside. Darius justification is that he wanted to scare them because when do kids ever listen to what you tell them?

He gets slangry (it's like hangry but you get cranky if tired)

Darius has pretty good people reading skills

He tends to get hung up on little flaws or habits of other people

Potentially weird headcanon I've developed recently: Given that 1) Darius was apparently friends w Eda, Raine, and Lilith at Hexside, 2) he is known to be particular about appearances, and 3) Lilith is the only known Clawthorne with curly hair, I think that Darius may very well have taught her how to properly care for her hair type. Curly hair is apparently very difficult to care for if you don't know how, & it's common for people w straight hair to mess it up by treating LIKE straight hair 1/2

Okay, but Eda and Raine start dating, Odalia and Alador start dating, Lilith and Darius are the only ones left. So they end up hanging out a LOT. Maybe Darius' mentor, the golden guard, drops by sometimes. Lilith is more determined than ever to join the emperor's coven. Darius has a spot, if he wants it, yet another prodigy. She has to work for it. Study sessions that turn into spa day sleepovers because girl the bags under your eyes are getting really bad, have you been sleeping? Have you been doing the hair care routine I gave you? I doubt it, your hair is brittle, get over here and let me fix the damage, you aren't going to impress any covens looking like you just rolled out of bed, least of all the emperor's coven. When he sees her in "O Titan, Where Art Thou" he's like :) Oh good, it's curly again :)

Idk, I see a lot of "emnity between Darius and Lilith" art, I think it would be a fun switchup for them to be friends, especially as the other members of their respective friend groups started dating each other.

Headcanons for my Teenage Dirtbag AU!!!!

(A lot of these will be Darius-centric, he's my favourite character leave me alone)

Darius has one of those old man leather wallets and keeps a group photo of the hagsquad in it

Eda and Raine are Partners In Crime™️ and it drives Darius up the wall

Lilith hasn't yet left for the Emperor's Coven, but everytime she gets roped into irresponsible shenanigans by the gang she starts panicking that it will "end up on her record" and stop her from moving up the ranks

Darius is the most responsible of the group and so ends up having to talk his way into getting them off scot-free whenever they do less-than-legal stuff

Raine grew their hair out just a little over their collar and Darius never stops making fun if it

Darius had a vErY EmBarRaSIng cRuSh on Alador before they actually got together and no-one will let it go

Pre-Aladarius, Eda and Raine once cornered Alador and interrogated him abt his feelings for Darius (Alador was terrified)

Eda had a crusty old flip-scroll that was so cracked it barely turned on from her throwing it around constantly

to add onto the “Odalia wearing her hair down redemption arc” possibility & the parallels between the Calamity Trio & Toxic Trio

I like to think Odalia genuinely started off as a nice person, she never really started doing anything that was extremely malicious until high school. She definitely started bullying around middle school but it would be mostly subtle and passive aggressive and often with a (twisted) reason - these behaviors are still awful but it didn’t become obvious until high school - the origin of the bun would come in at the start of high school, middle school is where she began wearing her hair up in a ponytail more often

Elementary was when she was wearing her hair all the way down - as well as genuinely caring for Darius’ feelings. Though she did kind of look down on him for being too “sensitive” he’s doing his best. I want to believe their friendship was genuine so the heartbreak is more impactful

and hot take for everybody; I don’t like the idea of the trio breaking up purely due to Odalia & Alador dating and Darius being jealous… it makes everything about all of them (especially Darius) feel so shallow and fake… instead I prefer it being more in between Alador & Darius arguing on creative differences and years & years of being pitted against each other by their teachers - it adds more depth to Alador & Darius’ friendship and that it wasn’t “over a crush” these two had passions, differing views, and things they admired & envied about one another.

Odalia if anything, would stay out of it - but watch from afar. She likes to listen to the drama. Perhaps the only thing she did do was unintentionally speed up the break. (I say unintentionally because she doesn’t go in saying they should end the friendship, she just says what’d she’d personally do if she was in a situation like that)

Darius is somebody who has trouble letting go of people, that included Odalia. I like to think he cut ties with Alador but stayed in contact with Odalia, but after Raine, Eda & Perry knocked some sense into him (made him realize Odalia was toxic too and she had been bullying him for years) that’s when he finally broke both of them off.

I hope this makes sense 😭 I love hags 🔥 🔥 🔥

So this has me thinking instead of sleeping.

Hunter as Alador and Willow as Darius? Maybe I'm looking to deep into this but this gives us a deeper look at Aladors and Darius relationship. So, does this mean that Alador and Darius were close and pretty much crushing on each other? Was Darius the one that flirted with Alador and Alador was a blushing mess nerd. I think it does! Other wise they wouldn't be paralleling. So Alador amd Darius were just a couple of teens that were into each other, yet Alador ended up with Odalia? Who isn't even in the picture?

So, another thing in this picture is that Darius has the cape on. Most likely the Golden Guards cape. So was Darius the late bloomer of the group? Since he is the Willow in his group. If so, that gives us more details about his past. Late bloomer of the school but has powerful potential in one type of magic. The Golden Gaurd must've taken notice of this and took Darius under his wing and trained him. Cute, sweet, a fatherly kind if relationship. Here's what I think happened! And again, I may be reaching, and projecting of course.

When The Golden Gaurd died, there's no way Darius wasn't devastated. Darius must've been traumatized and broken. I know I would. He must've lost all his confidence at the moment and was weak and vulnerable for a good amount of time. And this caused a crack in his relationship with Alador. Since Darius still seems close friends with Raine, and Eda and Lilith don't seem to have any beef with him, it's safe to say they remained friends with Darius and were there for him. Good! Raine and Darius are theater mates! Theater kids stick together no matter what. Alador must've tried being there for him, because we know Alador is a sweet heart. But then we have Odalia. The little son of witch. Maybe Odalia did like Alador, she was blushing in that picture during the brawl. So of course she must've taken this vulnerable stage of Darius amd Aladors relationship to her advantage. Wedged herself between them. Some how, she must've taken this as an opportunity to make Alador cut ties with Darius or at least break their relationship. I've seen many people like her before who always manage to convince a person that someone else is bad for them and break ties with them. Heck, I almost lost a friend like that before she finally broke up with that guy!

So in summery, Alador and Darius did like each other. Darius experienced something traumatizing making his relationship with Alador vulnerable. Odalia took advantage of it and convinced Alador to break ties with Darius. And of course Eda, Raine and Lilith must've been hurt somehow during the situation. Watching the friend grouo get slowly destroyed. If this is the case...........

*slowly places Darius on the top of my favorite charater lists. Next to Lilith, Hooty and Hunter.*

Ok, so if this is the case, I'm half a Alador x Darius shipper. 😅 Let me explain! As someone who was in this exact position before, I wouldn't want to get with Alador anymore. The fault does go both ways but the history is just too broken and rough to get together in the futuer. Recreate a friendship is possible but a romantic one? Not really. So I ship young Darius and Alador, not adult them. I like to head canon that they were a couple or one of those, friends but their dating without knowing it.

It would also be cute if Darius saw Hunter and Willow together and saw himself and Alador in them. Reminded of his relationship with Alador. So Darius does what he can to help Hunter keep his relationship with Willow and avoid it from breaking like his relationship with Alador. Besides, I enjoy the thought of Alador reconnecting with his kids first. And then he can try to fix his friendship with the others. Because let's face it, Eda doesn't seem very fond of Alador as adults. But that could be because Alador let his wife torment Luz with an Abomination robot.

Everything Will Be Okay (Aladarius Fic)

TW-Seizures, injury details and explosion

Chapter 1- The incident

It’s been years ever since the day of unity and everyone turning into puppets, along with me trying to save someone I had feelings for a while, someone who I wanted to forgive.

That person is Darius and we started out slowly, we already went out on a first date, my daughter Amity helped me with the outfits and what to give him, everything went well, honestly, these feel weeks have been going really well with him, we’ve grown closer to each other and eventually, Darius became my boyfriend, I was so happy..

However…

Things just fell apart when disaster struck, it was nothing to do with our relationship really, it was more with Darius, it all happened so fast...

A few hours before that happened, Darius and I were home along with the kids, Darius was a bit more tired, he has been taking care of Hunter and making sure he didn’t have any nightmares.

Darius was asleep in bed, I had fixed the blanket before making breakfast and I gave him a bit of time to rest, once I set up breakfast, I walked back in the room, Darius wasn’t in bed.

“Darius?” I said and looked around the room before I felt a light touch on my shoulder “…Morning!” Darius said, I flinched and turned around “Oh jeez, it’s just you, I’m so sorry…” I said and began to giggle, Darius chuckled and poked my nose “Morning, love” I said still giggling, Darius blushed.

“cmon I made breakfast already..” I said and held Darius’s hand, Darius looked down at my hands as I lead him to the kitchen, Darius sat down beside me.

After we ate, Amity looked up at him for a bit before asking me a questing.

“So um, dad, did mom tried talking to you?“ Amity asked

“No, why?“ I replied, I was shocked that Amity mention Odalia but, I wasn’t surprised.

“...She’s been trying to talk to me and get information about you and fathers dates, it doesn't seem good at all...“ Amity mentioned, Darius coughed a bit and looked at me, I shook my head and sighed.

“I don’t think she is planning anything bad, if she is, I’ll protect you guys no matter what..“ I said with confidence, Darius giggled a bit.

“I appreciate that Al“ Darius giggled and held my hand.

“Was that bad?..“ I asked a little embarrassed.

“Hey, don’t feel embarrassed, maybe it was an little bad but, please don’t be upset“ Darius said and rubbed my hand, Hunter looked up at us “...Dads? I mean Dad and Mr.Blight! Are you sure this date thingy is going to work, this whole thing that Amity mentioned is making me worried“ Hunter spoke.

Darius messed with his hair “Hey, we’ll be okay, you guys can come if you want, it’s just a small reunion with the Covens Against The Throne and besides, Odalia doesn’t even know about it..“ Darius spoke, Hunter nodded, Edric gasped and looked at Darius and I “Wait we can go?!“ Edric said, I gave him a nod, Edric got out of his seat and hugged Darius and I tightly “thank you, thank you, thank you!” Edric said, he was excited to go, the others were too aswell.

A few hours passed and we had headed to the Covens Against The Throne hideout, everyone from the rebellion was there, Eberwolf came running and hugged Darius tightly Raine aswell, I smiled a bit and watched, Raine looked at me then at Darius.

“Are you guys actually dating?..” Raine asked, Darius nodded “After about 4 weeks, Alador and I are officially a thing” Darius said, he was so happy, he soon pulled me into the hug;

Luz looked over an walked to us “Wait so that means Darius will also be my father in law?” Luz asked, Darius nodded, Luz hugged Darius’s leg “Yay!” Luz said.

I giggled for a bit, Amity walked to Luz and carried her bridal style as Luz let go of Darius, Lilith walked in “Hey I’m glad you guys made it here..” Lilith spoke “Lilith, I haven’t well seen you in quite a while, how are you?” I asked “Well aside with finding out how my harpy form works, I’m doing well, I see that you’re dating my best friend now..” Lilith spoke, I gave her a nod, she smiled a bit.

“As his friend please, just make sure he is happy and just comfort him no matter what..” she mentioned, I nodded and smiled back “of course” I said and looked at Darius.

Darius was talking to the others and giggling, he seemed very happy, the kids were hanging out with each other and everything seems to be going okay.

After a while, I was sitting down besides Darius as he laid his head on my shoulder, Raine was asleep in Eda’s lap, Amity, Luz and Hunter were talking about how Eberwolf can sometimes be messy but fun, King was talking to Eberwolf, Emira and Edric were inside with Katya, Derwin, Amber and Steve and Lilith was talking about how when Steve had went to the human realm with Lilith he accidentally bought a $45 baguette.

“Pfft how didn’t he notice that” Darius chuckled at that.

“No clue however, it was a huge baguette so, I’m not surprised and it’s Steve” Lilith said shrugging.

Suddenly we heard something fall, Darius looked at the edge of the balcony “…What is that?” Darius spoke pointing to the object.

The object seemed to be a small ball, Lilith looked at it and approached it, she didn’t go that close, King looked at her, he knew something was off.

“Wait Lili-“ King tried saying something before everything went bright.

After that everything went dark..

I soon opened my eyes and I was surrounded by golden flames, I looked around and the balcony had broken off and fallen due to that object, the only people that were safe from that and managed to get back into the hideout were Luz, Amity, King, Eda, Edric, Emira, Amber, Katya, Derwin and Steve.

Darius, Eberwolf, Raine, Hunter, Lilith and I weren’t so lucky, Raine had minor injuries, they had a few cuts and bruises, Lilith had a huge cut on her arm and hip, Eberwolf paw was broken, Hunter was unconscious but his leg was broken and he had a cut on his stomach and I had twisted my foot and got a cut on my shoulder, I slowly got up and saw it.

My eyes widened and I started panicking..

Darius was laying on the ground, his head was bleeding and he had a wound on his leg.

I limped to him and kneeled beside him, I picked him up and laid him on my knees, his nose was injured aswell, the side of his head was full of blood, Raine picked up Eberwolf and helped Hunter walk, Lilith limped over to me she was holding onto her wound tightly.

Eda flew down in her harpy form and helped Lilith.

“Is he still breathing?” Raine asked concerned.

I placed two of my fingers on Darius’s neck, luckily he was breathing fine, I gave a small sigh of relief “He is still breathing..” I said and carried him.

“That’s good however, we need to go to a healer to get help now” Raine spoke, they were concerned for all of us.

Raine, Hunter, Lilith, Eda, Eberwolf, Darius and I all headed to a healer, the rest of the others stayed back in the hideout for safety.

A few hours passed and we already arrived, I sat beside Darius’s bed, he had bandages over his head and leg and a bandage on his nose.

Darius woke up and looked at me..

“What? Where am I? Where are the others?” Darius asked, he was still a little dizzy.

“No clue, that object exploded I think and it broke the balcony of the hideou-“ I said before Darius began to panic.

“Hunter?! Where is Hunter?!” Darius said, he was worried that Hunter was hurt and something bad happened to him, I tried stopping him but, he got out of bed and ran to find Hunter.

However, he soon had stopped on his tracks, I caught up to him and noticed some weird behaviours.

Darius looked at me and tried speaking something but, he was stumbling in his own words.

“Honey?..” I spoke and touched his shoulder “Are You okay?”

Soon enough Darius stopped talking, his shoulders were trembling along with his legs, I sat him down on the ground.

“Darius..? Honey?” I said, I was panicking inside, I didn’t know what was wrong with him.

Darius’s eyes roll up into his head. His back arched, arms and legs rapidly escalating from slight tremors through to shakes, into the erratic.

My eyes widened I began panicking.

“I-I NEED HELP HERE PLEASE” I screamed

"I wanted to have kind of... Agreement with you" he started. Alador noticed, that he looks a bit nervous. It worried him.

"Agreement?" he asked, hoping, that Darius would make a further explanation.

"Yes" he breathed in and then out. "If we won't find anyone until the age of twenty five, we will marry each other" Darius sighed in relief, that he managed to say it out loud.

Alador hated cleaning. The reason behind it was, that he didn't really find his workplace dirty. Sure, there was a bit of abomination goo here and there, but nothing too big. He had bits of that purple goo on himself as well and no one ever judged him for it (at least not loudly). His wife sometimes looked at him with a slight disgust on her face, especially if he showed like that on a business meeting, but never said a word.

Today's cleaning wasn't only about getting rid of work leftovers from the tables. Every home inhabitant was ordered to go through their things in wardrobes and shelves and throw away stuff that isn't needed anymore. It was Odalia's idea, of course. She told him and kids that she cannot find anything in this house because of the amount of trash gathered, but Alador didn't quite believe her. It felt like she wanted to separate them and make each of them focus on work.

If he was right, then her plan worked quite well. Everyone locked themselves in their rooms, not wanting to let anyone else look through their private stuff. Alador wondered, if it also works like that in other houses. Probably not. Sure, everyone has their little secrets, but hiding every personal thing from their family? That's quite weird.

But why would Odalia want them to distance from each other? His theory was that she got jealous or even scared. His relationship with Amity improved and so did with Edric and Emira. He let them do more things that she would. Their reunion might mean loosing her power in that house.

He actually wouldn't mind sharing with kids. He'd gladly tell them more about Bonesborough Brawl, especially after discovering how interested Amity was in this, or his school times. Technically it wasn't anything that Odalia didn't know about, as she was there as well, but their relationship looked different back then. Talking about Darius might make her mad. Even if they acted like rivals and enemies now, Odalia still was attacking him sometimes, saying that he didn't get over his highschool crush.

He couldn't really be mad at her, because it was true, even if he told her otherwise. Alador caught himself thinking about Darius once in a while. He wasn't sure if he missed him in a romantic or a platonic way, but would love to spent as much time with him as when they were younger.

They weren't actually dating in school times, but obviously had a thing for each other. They were inseparable, going to every class together, sitting together during the lessons and the lunch. Alador remembered some kids joking, that they are "love birds". He tend to blush hearing it. Darius always corrected them, that they are soulmates and best of friends. It was both sweet and sad in some way.

Alador shook his head to focus on cleaning. Too many memories went through his head at the same time for him to process it. He opened another drawer in his deck and took everything out of it. Something round and hard was between two sheets of paper. It felt out and hit the bottom of the drawer, making a weirdly vibrant, rattling sound. Scientist placed the documents on the floor to look through them later. He looked into a drawer to find a ring in it. It was plain, made from a cheap metal, with small, green, fake stone at top of it. Alador gasped. He was sure that he have lost that ring! One good thing happened because of that cleaning after all...

"Alador, why so slow?" Darius chuckled, running up the hill. "We really need to work on your condition!" He shouted, looking at his friend from the top of the hill.

"What were you expecting from a guy spending little time on exercises?" Alador answered, smiling. Darius looked pretty. Sun already started to set, making sky slightly pink. Soft rays of sunshine surrounded his silhouette. View caused Alador's heart to beat a bit faster.

"You need to take care of it or I'll leave you behind one day" he laughed. Alador rolled his eyes. He would never actually leave him behind.

When Alador reached the top of the hill, Darius had already prepared the blanket for them to sit. He patted the place next to him, suggesting that brunet should sit there. Alador took that place.

"The view really is amazing. You were right" brunet nodded, admiring the landscape. This place wasn't located that high, but they still could see great part of the island.

"I'm never wrong, sweetie" he said in playful voice. Alador knew, that he was joking around, but 'sweetie' caused him to blush anyway. Darius smiled. His friend was really cute.

"Why here and not our usual place?" brunet asked after a few minutes of silence. Darius took something out of his pocket, but didn't show him. Whatever it was, it was tightly hidden in dark skinned boy's fist.

"I wanted to have kind of... Agreement with you" he started. Alador noticed, that he looks a bit nervous. It worried him.

"Agreement?" he asked, hoping, that Darius would make a further explanation.

"Yes" he breathed in and then out. "If we won't find anyone until the age of twenty five, we will marry each other" Darius sighed in relief, that he managed to say it out loud.

Alador could feel his cheeks getting warmer. He could marry him right away, as soon as they were old enough to do it... He didn't know what to say, it sounded like a dream.

"Because, you know... Nothing better than spending a life with your best mate" Darius added, visibly stressed by the silence. Alador realized, that he is still staring at him without a single word.

"Sure. Yes. I agree. I would love to. I mean, it's really good idea. Spending a life with best friend" brunet answered, still blushing and smiling softly.

Then Darius unclenched his fist. It hid quite ordinary ring with green stone.

"If I promised to marry you in the future, it's almost like a proposal, right?" he said, handing a ring to his friend. "So we need rings. I also have one" he pointed at his hand. The similar ring with yellow stone was resting on his finger.

"I guess" Alador responded with a wide smile and put ring on his own finger.

"It's really pretty" he added.

"I hoped that you will like it. They match our eyes!" Darius seemed proud of himself. Alador looked at his ring. Green, yes, just like Darius' eyes. How could he not realize it right away?

"They do" brunet smiled and rested his head on friend's shoulder.

The view was amazing.

Darius was awfully bored. He had to look through the new planes for abominators and accept or correct them. He was doing it for too long to see it as something exciting.

It was, when he did it for the first time. Correcting Alador's work, he never thought that he would do this. His childhood friend always had a bit better grades, so he wouldn't expect himself to upgrade his projects. He also took it as a chance to reconnect with Alador. He tried to leave notes at the plans, hoping for him to answer. Sadly, he ignored any scribbles Darius left, so coven's head finally gave up.

Man took off his gloves and placed them next to the sheet of paper he was currently staring at. He started playing with the ring on his finger. It was a bit rusty and not so pretty anymore, but Darius couldn't make himself stop wearing it. Fake yet real proposal was the closest he got to confessing his feelings to Alador.

He had a crush on him when they were at school and suspected Alador to have a thing for him as well, but he never confessed to him openly. He was afraid that he misjudged brunet's feelings and telling him about his own will ruin their friendship.

Offering age of twenty five as deadline sounded reasonable. Eleven years wasn't that much, he could wait, but also enough to make it sound not "suspicious" at all. They got pretty close to making their agreement come true. Darius wasn't in any serious relationship throughout these years and Alador was focused on other matters than finding himself a partner.

But then, Odalia happened. They were friends with her before, but it was different. She somehow sneaked into Alador's life and became his fiancée in a really short time. Few months before Alador's twenty fifth birthday, they got married.

Both Alador and Darius were focused on improving their skills with abomination magic, so they had less time for each other. They began to grow apart, meeting less and less often. Brunet's marriage was a breaking point. Darius couldn't make himself ask Alador out anymore. He was mad at him, actually. He kept hoping that they will have their happy ending for over ten years, only to have his dream crushed few months before "due date".

Darius could feel growing anger. The longer he was looking at the ring, the greater his rage was. He hit the table in front of him with his hand, but it wasn't enough. He took one paper sheet with the project and tore it to pieces. Another one became a paper ball and hit the wall.

"Enough work for today" he murmured to himself. He left the room, living the mess behind him. Emotions inside him were so strong, that he forgot to take his gloves with himself. His look didn't matter that much now. Only thing he wanted was to get back to his room and calm down.

When he reached his destination, he locked the door behind himself and sat on the bed. He took a fast glance on the framed photo on the bedside cabinet. Alador and him. Photo taken during the grom.

He couldn't look at it any longer. He opened the drawer and put the frame in. He rested his head on the pillow. Before closing his eyes, he took a quick look on the calendar. He had a feeling that he forgot about something...

It was the anniversary of their "proposal".

Darius suddenly felt enormously heavy. He closed his eyes and got lost in his thoughts.

"I don't think that I would go to grom, actually" Alador broke the silence. He took a bite of his sandwich, waiting for his friends' reaction.

"Why? Come with us, come on, Alador. Don't be such a stiff" Odalia said, rolling her eyes.

"I'm not sure if it's my type of entertainment. I prefer less crowded and more calm places" he explained. Too many incentives at the same time made him feel uncomfortable. He was getting distracted by something every few seconds and finally ending up with the headache.

"Sounds fair. I will stay with you, then, so you won't feel lonely" Darius announced.

"Why? You like places like that. We both know it" Alador answered, clearly surprised.

"It won't be that fun without my best friend" dark skinned boy rested his head on his hand. Alador could see the ring on his finger. He was sure, that he did it on purpose. It caused him to slightly blush.

"I don't know... Maybe I'll go?" Odalia made a really funny face when she heard that. Why was he more convincing than her?

"I can ask you to go with me if it will make the decision easier for you" Darius added, smiling widely.

"Fine" Alador chuckled. Odalia turned her head away from them. Her mood decreased.

Grom went really well. Darius and Alador danced a bit and spent some time outside, so brunet could rest and experience some quietness. They took a photo to capture that moment. Darius was hugging slightly blushing Alador with one hand. They both were smiling.

Alador found the same photo. Keeping it out, in a place visible for others, would be something amazing. Sadly, placing this type of things on his desk might mean them being destructed by Odalia. She already tore one photo of him and Darius.

She wasn't jealous of coven's head, it wasn't it. Or maybe was it? Alador wasn't sure. His theory was, that his wife didn't want to have an affair. How would it look like? Her husband showing signs of being into his old friend? She couldn't risk destruction of their "perfect marriage" image.

Scientist placed freshly found ring in a little bag, which was lying in one of the drawers. He hid it between the documents and abominators plans; these with Darius' scribbles on it. Alador wondered, why he stopped writing these notes... He responded to every single one, placing both text and small drawings with pencil on next projects. Maybe he got bored or something? Who knows...

Rest of shelves, drawers and boxes didn't bring any new memories to Alador's head. He had enough, actually. Thinking about it all was painful for him.

Marriage with Odalia wasn't something that he wanted. His parents put lot of pressure on him, seeing potential in this turquoise haired woman. Odalia was his old friend, she was reliable and responsible. They were sure, that it's a perfect fit for their son, because she will be able to keep him focused on important matters and also will perfectly run the house. Well, it was true, that he got distracted quite easily and burned few pots because of it, but he could take care of himself and didn't need a babysitter. He tried explaining it to his parents, many times, but they supported Odalia, not him.

For her, it was a good chance. Marrying into rich and respected family. She did everything to keep this image and make herself part of the clan. The effect was that Alador felt less and less like a Blight. He would prefer to have Darius' surname...

But it was too late. He was married and way older than twenty five. Only thing he could do now was dreaming about things going differently in the past.

In the evening, when Alador was falling asleep, he made one promise to himself. He won't ever let Odalia make any of their children marry someone they don't want to.

"Goodnight" his wife whispered. He turned away to look at the moon.

Darius was looking at the very same moon at the exact same moment. If they only knew, that they were both dreaming about the same thing...
