one piece filler ep where they run into another peto-peto villain of the week guy but this time instead the devil fruit power rearranges people's brain chemistry so they have the thoughts behaviours emotional intelligence etc of a dog. zoro gets hit but he's just exactly the same

When Sanji sacrifices himself he's aware of what he's doing. He knows exactly what is at stake and how much he's given and why his act is bad to others or himself, why it must be done either way. From what I see, it's a reflection of his self-esteem and his desire to put others first, it's guilt and it's self-punishment and he knows, okay?

When Zoro sacrifices himself he's insane, batshit crazy. He doesn't want to die per se, he doesn't hate himself and doesn't do it out of punishment. His dreams are bigger than his life, they are more valuable, so he's never afraid to put his life at risk when it comes to fulfilling what he thinks his duty is. You could say it's his honor or his code of life— Zoro can survive the deadliest wounds, the worst circumstances, 'cause he doesn't seek death, it's just that he won't avoid it either.

I love that contrast and how clear it is during the encounter of Zoro and Mihawk in Baratie.

I was joking to my friend that Chopper should sue the world government for labelling him a pet when he's clearly an independent person that has also like talked to people that are in the government but now I just am dying to see a serious court case in the one piece world like I wanna see the straw hats fight in court over their right to a treasure they found because another crew also claimed ownership. i got sidetracked the other night but mirage tempo!! love to see a nami fight because she can certainly kick ass and deserves to more often. physical alterations might not be her strong suit, but it’s great to see her hold her own because you know she can. (also knowing she will put up a fight for the sake of her crew? for all of these people that mean everything? hello i am screaming. there is something about now being able to fight for the people you care about vs being unable to the first time you needed to and carrying that with you) also loved her line to kalifa: “if not getting my ass beat makes me rude, then so be it.”

I'm so glad there's actually people who are watching opla without ever having watched anything op before but i also really hope if they'll decide to pick up the manga/anime to know how it keeps going they'll start from the beginning cause honestly they cut on some of my favorite exchanges in the whole manga, which is kinda sad

thoughts on Sanji not hurting women:

the reason Sanji refuses to kick women is... well literally speaking it's because Zeff threatened to kill himself if he did, which is frankly uncalled for, and damn if I can't see where Sanji got his fucking DRAMA QUEEN BEHAVIOUR FROM, but that's not the point

the point of "it is wrong to hurt women" is not "women need to be protected because they cannot protect themselves etc"

it is "women need to be protected, and I will not be the reason why."

it gets maybe a little out of proportion because, well, Sanji's a drama queen, but that's the core of it. it's not a demand to help, like most old-fashioned chivalry would be — it's only a refusal to hurt. not protection, but support — which, may I remind you, is Sanji's role as the crew's cook. support.

Sanji's a feminist. he's maybe not very good at it yet, but he's definitely a feminist.
