The most heartbreaking and loneliest part of being on the aromantic/asexual spectrum is that, even if you try and explain to people how you feel about all that shit, they still don't understand what you're saying.
I am happy with myself, and I am not less happy just because it's enough for me to experience love in a different way than most people. Especially since I identify as aego-aroace.
Yes, I do not feel sexual or romantic attraction. However, that does not mean I can't enjoy thoughts about either, especially if it doesn't involve me. I prefer reading about different pairings or creating characters myself who may or may not get to live happy ever after with their loved one. I like the idea of having a relationship, but I do not need one to feel the same amount of comfort and happiness as allosexual/alloromantic people do.
I am valid. My experiences are valid. Telling me or people like me that I "haven't met the right person" or "am too young to know yet" is painful. I am not broken!
The amount of days I cried myself to sleep because I've got told things that made me feel like my very existence is not enough, even though I should know it's not true. Sometimes it feels like everyone else is awake while I'm in a coma, destined to never wake up, I'm on pause while the world is spinning around me.
I am a 24 years old adult human being and I've come to terms with my identity like 13 years ago when I was still a child - the only difference is back then I didn't knew there was a term for how I felt.
Just because the dress is blue/black for me while someone else sees it white/gold doesn't change the fact that it is still a dress - iykwim.
He acknowledges April's origins as mixed race, which very few people have done - and which many in the fandom have argued against in a blatant attempt to make whitewashing palatable.
And since Rogan is who he is, there is also antisemitism, ableism, classism, and good old rose colored nostalgia glasses.
Seth, honey, you are a mensch and I am proud of you. You're doing great.
i love you controversial labels i love you contradictory labels i love you "confusing" labels i love you microlabels i love you "too specific" labels i love you labels that aren't quite right but feel good enough i love you labels that are very similar to other labels but the difference is important anyway i love you labels that are general on purpose i love you "embarrassing" labels i love you new labels created because nothing else fit the creator i love you refusal to use labels

I've seen a lot of like, discourse in the Stranger Things fandom and I don't like it. There's a cool video of Eddie cosplayers just like, having fun at a con goinng around and it's spawned some mouth breathers that claim to like the show spreading a lot of hate because of it. Saying things like "Eddie would hate you guys" and "You're ruining this fandom/Eddie" which just makes me wonder, like are y'all watching the same show?? I feel like you guys have some weird gatekeeper version of Stranger Things I want no part of.
Stranger Things has always been for self proclaimed weirdos like Eddie and pretty much anyone outside of the preconceived societal norms. Eddie's literally called Eddie 'The Freak' Munson, and in all honesty, people who are saying shit like this would probably have been friends with Jason and Angela, not him. He'd be taking in the people you bully and telling you to fuck off, quite honestly. If you're gonna keep spreading this bullshit, take it somewhere else?? Or keep it to yourself, cause haven't you heard if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all? If this is somehow controversial, I don't give a shit. I honestly don't care what y'all think of me because I know I'm right. If you still don't believe me, some trans dude on the internet, take a look at what David Harbour himself said a few years ago about the show.
Hopper himself would punch you assholes in the face, so if you have a problem with Stranger Things fans literally just enjoying themselves, you can take it up with him.
Like y'all wouldn't have survived in 2010s tumblr and it shows. You think this shit is "too much" and "ruining the fandom"? Ask literally anyone about the "fandom war of 2012" or "Mishapocalypse", like you clearly have never been in a fandom before and it should fucking stay that way.
Sorry for the long post, I'm fucking livid about this.
The idea that people have opinions on entertainment nowadays is simply bewildering to me. Who cares about people are entitled to? Just watch it/play it.
In a world where stupidity and hatred and hypocrisy ruin living for everyone else, people are trying to get by and just live. Entertainment provides us that brief reprieve. TV, Cartoon, Video Game, Movies. Are they all good? No. But they're not all bad either.
But somewhere along the way people decided to appropriate the term "valid criticism" to shit on everything, and paint anyone trying to defend media as "Toxic positivity" And so many people feel that it is their "god-given right" to tear down what people love.
For God's Sakes, let people enjoy things without telling them that its wrong to enjoy things!
If you want to know why I am so passionate about defending RWBY from RWDE aka the RWBY HTDM? Its because these people's identity is revolved around tearing down what Monty and his friends worked so hard to build.
I have no respect for people who spend so much time trying to make other people hate on a media simply because it doesn't cater to them specifically.
Really didn’t think people would get so pissy over my opinion. Media is open to interpretation.
No, I don’t consider Scott the main character. No, I don’t think he was a good friend to Stiles. No, I don’t think that Stiles was appreciated in the show the way he should have been. Yes, I see something between Derek and Stiles. If you don’t, that’s fine. I’m not here to argue with you. I’m not even asking you to agree.
You can literally scroll past my post and go about your day - it’s a TV show and it’s my opinion. I don’t go on other people’s posts and call them delusional - it costs nothing to just ignore a post. No one is forcing you to look at my blog.
It costs nothing for you to mind your business and let people interpret media however they see it. If you’re that pressed by it, block me and move on.
Also — I’m editing to add that I have nothing against the actors. I literally didn’t mention them because I loved every actor on the show (even the ones who played antagonists that made me cringe). I specifically mentioned the characters. I’d have the same opinion regardless of who played either character. I didn’t like the way Scott was written.
