Just finished watching the final AH video. It’s strange, bc yeah I was a fan, but I always felt like such a casual since I never got into their long running series like gta or minecraft. But the parasocial bond really hit hard nonetheless.

#I was always more into like. their Nintendo vids esp Mario party. and gmod tho I’d fallen behind in the last few years #when dogbark was announced I was shocked and confused that it was down to 4 members #I’d been away so long I didn’t even realize almost everyone had moved on #but I’m still excited. Palworld arguments and how to deconstruct them (+ common misconceptions)

Instead of making call-out posts targeting specific people like an SJW tumblrina in need of attention, I will provide general counter-arguments everybody can use within the Palworld discourse. I am sick and tired of AI-art getting normalized, this issue is getting out of hand and we must spread awareness for the sake of artists everywhere.

YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO EDUCATE PALWORLD DEFENDERS, BUT DON'T ATTACK THEM PLEASE!

Without further ado, here common arguments by Palworld fans and how you can deconstruct them.

1. "So you're defending a multibill. corp?!"

This is a common argument used by Palworld defenders. Within their narrative, Pokemon designs are a direct product of their Nintendo (the multibillion dollar company in question) and you're totally bootlicking them if you're pointing out the obvious plagiarism - as if the very heads of Nintendo were the ones creating the Pokemon designs... The truth, of course, is that individual artists provide these designs FOR Nintendo. Instead of "taking from the rich" like Palworld fans claim, their game actually steals from these artists. Hence, those who call out Palworld aren't die-hard Nintendo fans as much as they are people who simply call out plagiarism in defense of artists. I would even go as far as to add that people who defend PocketPair (the developers of Palworld) and those who buy the game just for the sake of controversy (yes, it's been done) are themselves adamant defenders of a corporation. Since they imagine others to be blindly defending Nintendo, it's bordering hypocrisy.

2. "It's not plagiarism"

If you show a Palworld defender one of Palworld's character designs and the Pokemon it's based on, they will in some cases start pointing out the differences between the two in order to claim there's no plagiarism involved. This is easy for them to do because the Palworld design you showed them isn't quite a rip-off of a Pokemon, no. It's actually the rip-off of TWO Pokemon. In fact, most Palworld designs tend to use the model of one Pokemon and some features of a other, along with some final alterations that are unique. Once you point this out, it's easy to notice on most if not nearly all Palworld designs. Here is an example that comes with a visual analysis, provided by @RaphDesLandes (a gamedev!) on X:

3. "There's no proof of PocketPair using AI!"

Not only is there proof of it, but that same proof shows that the devs run servers for AI programs, the same which they use for their game "AI Impostor", a game in which the core mechanic is the use of an AI-image generator. Here is the most flagrant example (I hid the developer's name because I'm not that kinda guy).

Of course, I don't blame people who didn't know this. It's far from being common knowledge amongst Palworld fans, after all. That's why it's important to spread the word though.

4. "Gamefreak should'a made better games!"

It's not a secret: Nintendo and GameFreak have been letting us down with the recent Pokemon games on the Nintendo Switch. From poor writing to bad graphics, many fans (myself included) are unsatisfied. Palworld players praise the games' quality, claiming that it's existance is justified by the fact it's programmed better than recent Pokemon games. While it's understandable that one would want to play games with superior programming, it doesn't justify plagiarism (they could've just made a Pokemon fangame or a mod), and, well... it's simply false and doesn't apply.

Here is a link to a tweet showing one of Palworld's game-breaking glitches.

Not only that, but Palworld is mostly made up of Unity Engine assets, and it's controls are wonky. They're reminiscent of Garry's mod, which came out in 2006, except Gmod is faster.

5. Bonuses

-evidence of PocketPair using Pokemon fans' art to model their characters after (post by @onion_mu on X)

-every Palworld-Pokemon lookalike (source unknown but reposted by @hejibits on X)

-and also: deconstructing the (partial) myth around Palworld's success on Steam

Lastly, it's important that I point this out, even if it's unrelated: Pocket Pair devs have received death threats. This is unacceptable. I encourage everyone reading this to create an online-environment where people discuss and debate with rationality, rather than such shameful behaviour. To me, people who send others death threats are no better than thieves, so please stay respectful!

i dont particularly enjoy people being like "haha kevin lowry (moron who poorly set up that replacement HRT scam and doxxed himself in the process, also a member of patriot front and runner of nazi gmod RP servers) is a fat soy looking guy!" for 2 major reasons:

yes it is worth pointing out that a lot of these people are LARPing as le epic chad master race or whatever and there is a degree of hypocrisy to that that can be discussed, but just leaning into fatphobia and the exact language they use is not "giving it to them" or "speaking language they can understand" in any way, it's just validating their points and letting them set the terms of the discussion around things like that. they own mirrors. they go to in person events. they know what their physical traits are.

leading on from that, is this implication here somehow that it'd be better? or more worth taking seriously? if he WAS some like. jacked handsome little boyman. like come on. be real

i know ultimately the real crux of this is just that nobody gives a shit about fatphobia but come on man. grow up. learn to have a more nuanced discussion and recognise when you're just playing into literal nazis' belief system because you think it's not worth discussing the fact that we can recognise someone with active intent to harm people without also implicitly condoning certain forms of bigotry in the crossfire. we can discuss more than one topic at once.

My Trafalgar Law HC’s!! pt.3 🤍🤍🤍

Law would be the kind of person to have a social media for his pet. He’d either have like 13 followers or over 100k. and they’d be a pet celebrity. He’d never show his face, but he’d have people fangirling over his hands in the comments.

I feel like he’d be the messiest or the neatest person ever. No in between.

He’d watch Luffy play Animal Crossing or Pokémon or something and see that Luffy made barely any progress. So, at night, he’d sneak the DS into the garage and get him like all kinds of rewards. And Luffy would wake up and be really happy.

He’d order off the kid’s menu, or always order a very specific and outlandish meal.

His favorite Beatles album would be a tie between The White Album and Revolver

He secretly really likes IU (he also enjoys HYUKOH and Mrs. Green Apple)

Bad Badtz-Maru is his favorite Sanrio character.

His favorite flavors are grape and blue raspberry. He also likes cherry.

His favorite Ghibli movie is Castle in the Sky (he likes all Ghibli movies)

He’s really fun to play with in GMOD. And it’s Hilarious whenever Kid joins.

He really likes Nintendogs, and he’d have a golden retriever because it reminds him of Corazon. He’d let Luffy name it.

Yeah its that time Shay talks about TV adware again lets go! TV Adware can grant wishes of high Desire/ambition The god box connection with adware

If you haven't check the links in the past i notice a pattern with the people Adware picks, they seem to have high Desire for something an example is SMG4 wanting to make the perfect video but with every wish he grants aka help the person with their Desire there is a consequence aka Four would have died if he didn't make the perfect video not to mention he would have killed everyone in the castle . He had no free will to make that video. i also notice one day playing Gmod with @alianarepasa

how the adware seems to have parts that look like the god box so it got me thinking

the box club leader may have been reborn after it looked like he died he more then likely was getting his desire fulfilled and needed a new body or hell maybe became a vessel for the god box after the explosion. The fact given we never saw his face only the smiling box i feel fits the adware character.

in the new episode if you look close you can see that he has no head meaning that the adware can remove his head at will. Maybe that's how he spy's on the crew? Not sure but it made me think about the box club leader and how its possible the god box fuse his head with the box turning it into a TV granting him that unlimited power? Its interesting that out of everyone to see him its Four makes me worry that Four could be weak to the adwares influence since he made a second deal with the adware remember?

He only manage to get the showgrounds because of the adware and so far this deal hasn't twisted YET this might be the time for the adware to claim Four again. Or worse claim the people he holds close given the cast we have at the end of the new episode. Given all the movies we have gotten has been base on a genre, it makes me wonder are we going to get a sports one or will the Adware play with the cast. Forcing them to face past trauma and break them given we are touching on self worth for Three and Tari it be super interesting.

something is coming and it might be something big maybe finally we will get hints and answers to what is going on. But i wanted to do this post to show off all my theories and talk about what im thinking might coming in the coming weeks. I dont think Four is safe but with our happy ending we got from wotfi i have hope that we will get some interesting results in the coming plot!

The essence is there, but not it's not a 1:1, really. Krillin is immensely powerful for a human, but ultimately lags behind the Saiyans and Piccolo when it comes to actually handling enemies of import. Basically, Krillin's entire role after the power levels balloon out of his ballpark is being a good influence and sparring partner for Gohan (I think Krillin's role as Gohan's cool uncle is severely underrated, while I'm at it) until he's matured enough and to stall the villains by getting the shit beat out of him, buying precious time so a Saiyan or Piccolo can arrive on the scene, pop him a Senzu, and then take it from there.

Irene is a very strong fighter, and one quite easy to underestimate because, fundamentally, she's surrounded absolute beasts. In this way, yeah, she's very much a Krillin. I would also say that her style of fighting, involving accurate and crippling lunges with her rapier that incapacitate the enemy to set them up for her actual deathblow, her handcannon, can be seen as A Kienzan That Actually Lands.

Now, let's look at her RI assessment:

This is consistent with what we saw in Stultifera Navis, though I'd say that her Combat Skill should be above Excellent. I base this on the fact that Irene was fighting things that made Abyssal Hunters have to put effort into engaging, and she wasn't just surviving, she was killing a good number of them and hanging in there in what was a VERY prolonged combat situation. Now, think back on the PV for Stultifera Navis: Skadi had to two hand her greatsword in order to defend and hold against Seaborn dogs' lunges, visibly having to push back at them. Skadi is also the person that, while holding back, was sending armed combatants flying Team Rocket style in Grani and the Knights' Treasure, and who was punching tunnels through mountains RE2 Mr. X style because she couldn't be bothered actually finding her way around the caves. If Skadi has to put in some elbow grease block the attacks of these basic Seaborn enemies, they would evaporate Irene just with one clean hit on her. In Stultifera Navis, Irene did the equivalent of running a 1 credit clear of a CAVE shmup, she REALLY went in and cleared Mushihimesama, secret boss and all, while not getting hit cleanly, because if she did, that's it, she was positively out.

That's a pretty big departure from Krillin if we're going to be very particular about this. Ace detectives will notice that Irene spent a long time fighting opponents she was woefully outclassed by physically by simply being that good and nimble of a fighter, which is in stark contrast to Krillin's signature move: Absorbing every single punch, kick and ki blast with his face while buying time for Goku to arrive. If Krillin isn't beat up, gored, exploded, or ragdolled, it wasn't a Krillin a fight. Krillin is like a Gmod dummy that people like to subject to creative torture via the gravity gun and the bonkers physics of Half-Life 2. Krillin was more likely to kill Nappa or Frieza via heart palpitations from them beating his ass TOO hard rather than landing the Kienzan. Krillin's most successful technique is the Taiyoken (Solar Flare), which he used to blind countless opponents temporarily so he could take a break from getting his face pummeled into 4-dimensional shapes for a couple minutes.

They share some essence, but in the nitty gritty of it all, they are different beasts in the same family tree, if you will. Also, the powerful girl very much did take the initiative in the case of Irene. I get what you mean and I respect it but it was very much the powerful girl that picked her up and called her a fruit.

Technical difficulty

Like a fucking dumbass I somehow spilt Coke zero on my laptop, and some of it went into the tiny little vents on the laptop, im writing this on my laptop as we speak but i don't know if it will be ok, I might lose everything on here, which means my tf2 Comics will all be gone, and I dont know when Ill be able to get another computer, if this thing is fucked up.... if not all will be good and everything will continue to be the same, Sorry for being stupid yall I fucked up big time, im praying everything will be ok, but hey at least I still have my phone so my connection to yall will still be there, i just wont be able to make gmod comics or play games for a very long time....everything seems to be ok Ill keep you all updated. but if all go's to shit I have a back up plan, and if that back up plan fails to work, Ill have to ask someone to continue my stories, if anyone is willing to take it on please let me know, but that's only if my laptop is seriously screwed over, ill keep you all updated.

I made a post a while back saying that I hoped hlvrai2 would never be made Long before the teaser and I'll admit I got japed I thought it Really Was gonna be HL2 because I love the damn series and while I am the slightest bit miffed that it Isn't I'm also Glad that it isn't.

HLVRAI had a story that was already finished. It wrapped up, it's done, if you want more watch the bank stream or watch the full vods or whatever. Hell read some DAMN fanfic!!! or play toys in gmod with your friends and have FUN!

an HLVRAI 2 stream with all the same characters going through the damn Laboratory again would probably be way less entertaining than this. Sorry to say.

I imagine a lot of the people upset with this stream are mostly remembering acts 3 and 4 where things was way high octane and silly and skeletons and such. Act 1 was basically the same shit as this. just dudes having fun.

It makes sense for people to be upset. it's ok for people to be upset. I thought it was gonna be HLVRAI2 as well I hyperfixated on it since 2020 as well. But I mean like..... calm down. this isn't a personal attack on you from Wayne and friends. you won't fucking Die, bro. this shits not "ableist" or whatever people are saying about it. Ok so time to talk about the new promo image cause OH MY GOD WE SHOULD BE WORRIED

Image I am talking about:

As you can see there is a lot going on here.

The reward on Meggy’s wanted poster is “your freedom”

“Alive” is scratched out on Meggy’s wanted poster

I’m gonna try and explain everything going on here.

First let’s start with Meggy’s wanted poster. These posters have been seen in a lot of promo images lately.

I already pointed out the differences between these posters and the most recent one in the list.

We know the adware from IGBP is back in some way. We also know that Tari is feels something is off on the train. We can assume that something is the adware. What if the adware made a connection to Tari? And what if the adware will possess Tari in the future?

With this piece of promo art we see two Tari’s. One looks off into the distance with a sheepish smile. The other has her back turned. These two Tari’s could represent a possessed Tari (happy and carefree) and the real Tari. (Worried and stressed) We also see a cat. We know Tari helps cats and other animals. What if the adware possesses a cat to lure Tari in? Think about it! The adware (as a cat) lures Tari to a secluded alleyway and boom! It possesses Tari!

This leads me back to the poster. (Hope you didn’t forget about that) The reward is “your freedom” and Meggy is wanted dead. This could mean that Tari has to kill Meggy in order to gain her freedom from the adware.

I know I know… GLITCH would never kill off Meggy. I’m not saying it would end in Meggy’s death. There’s still more to this.

Remember how Tari was missing her Meta Runner arm? What if she loses it in a battle with the adware to save Meggy? Perhaps this battle could be in Tari’s mind while possessed Tari is trying to kill Meggy. (This plays into Meggy’s beanie having a hole in it and the grim reaper card)

There have been these eyes in two promo images so far

These are probably the adware’s eyes.

Now for the mounted duck head. If you take a closer look there’s blood.

Why is there blood? Well unfortunately someone is most likely gonna die. It most likely won’t be Tari because of her redesign. But I’m thinking GLITCH could pull a Terrance again and possibly kill Archibald. This could be motivation for Tari to fight off the adware after it kills Archibald.

What about the static poster? (For those who think it’s a window someone on Twitter took a closer look and it’s a poster) Well we’ve seen static throughout the past few episodes. I’m thinking static is how the adware watches the SMG4 crew.

In “SMG4: Ready to Ride?…” an old fashioned tv is seen on the train throughout the episode. At the end of the episode the tv changes from static to a screen that says “Go to the bottom of the description.” It knows what happened in the episode. It knows we, the viewers, want answers. So it directs us to the description for answers. Except we kinda have more questions than answers with the link in the description.

I’m sure your all aware of the gmod map the link leads to and what’s in the map. I’ll talk about it in another post as this one is already lengthy and I still have one more thing to talk about.

Finally on our list of things to cover we have the missing texture chips. At the moment I don’t know what these are meant to mean. Everything else was clear except this.

I’m gonna keep the summary short. Tari could get possessed by the adware. Archibald might die. Meggy might face of against a possessed Tari. The adware can see everything that’s happening.

So one question remains…
