SO I just finished binging all of Romantic Killer bc it came up in my recommended. And oh my god I loved it so much;;
There’s definitely mixed reviews about it WHICH IS FAIR bc the premise is about a girl named Anzu who isn’t interested in romantic relationships but she then gets pushed into typical dating sim situations with Really Cute Boys in an effort to like. Force her into a relationship. And obv this kinda comes off as arophobic. But the fact that she so stubbornly refuses to partake and tries so hard to veer away from those situations makes it so fucking funny, especially when she rejects the boys with faces like this
Tumblr media
And it turns out it’s really just a show about found family and overcoming trauma and developing healthy friendships with people and UGH. UGHHH it’s so good.
I actually adore Riri lmao they’re SUCH a little shit and I very much enjoy insanely chaotic characters like that. And we start off thinking okay wow this person’s kind of an asshole for forcing a girl to get a boyfriend by taking away her cat, her favorite hobby and her favorite snack, but then we find out OH, they’re just a cog in a corporate machine and they don’t really have much of a choice about it. And we slowly see Riri actually gain true affection for Anzu, and see how much they come to care about her as a person rather than just as a test subject, to the point of them actually breaking the rules of their contract just to make sure she’s safe. AND NOT JUST HER. They make sure the people she’s associated with are safe too, even if it risks them getting in Big Trouble with their boss. AND the fact that they canonically go by they/them pronouns but can ALSO transform into a boy or a girl depending on their preference, and they playfully flirt with Anzu in both forms?? It’s so good. Also thinking about the effort that Anzu goes through to make sure Riri gets to stick around;; like even tho she’d never admit it. She’s come to care for them too in some very strange way lol
And Junta;; the fact that Anzu is actually so concerned about him possibly being brainwashed into the position of childhood friend? Like she doesn’t immediately push him away or shut him down, she actually cares about him as a person and wants him to find happiness and wants to get him out of the situation she thinks he’s in. But then she finds out oh wait he actually IS a childhood friend. And he’s such a good boy. I love love LOVE how they handle the love triangle aspect in this, because obviously yes there’s a bit of jealousy, but not enough for things to get petty between him and Kazuki. They actually treat each other with respect and regard each other as friends and are kinda rooting for the other in their own way. Kind of “may the best man win” sort of thing. There’s no toxicity, there’s no classic “fighting over the female love interest” trope, they actually genuinely like each other after a bit of awkwardness enough to feel comfortable with living together and living with Anzu. They’re SO fucking sweet god dammit //shakes fists
(Honestly tho I really wish we got more episodes focused on Junta. Bc he really seemed like more of a background character and made the whole “love triangle” aspect not feel as prominent. Which is fine I guess?? But I felt so bad for him lmao)
And Kazuki 😭 My beloved. My poor sweet boy who deserves the world and everything in it. Just the build up. The subtle hints of his trauma that pop up every now and then. And when it all comes together you’re like oh!! Ohhh. THAT’S why he acts so aloof and cold all the time. THAT’S why he doesn’t like being the center of female attention. THAT’S why he gets distressed at things that, at first, seem so insignificant. THAT’S why he got attached to Anzu so quickly. And I love the way they handle his trauma, how they don’t make it seem any less important or alarming just because he’s a guy. And how Anzu’s there for him through everything 🤧 How she’s the person to pull him out of the darkness, how she stands up for him time and time again, how she just KNOWS when he’s uncomfortable and steps in to protect him. She ends up caring about him so much despite how they were set up to encounter initially. And he cares about her so much too. And I just 🥺 I care them
Also the fact how everyone came to help Kazuki when they found out what was going on. No judgement, no “you’re making this up”, no “isn’t this your fault to begin with?” They all just step in without even hesitating and support him through his trauma and immediately go “Okay we’ve got a problem so here’s our gameplan.” SEE. IT’S REALLY ABOUT THE FOUND FAMILY,
And one of my favorite things. Riri 🤝 Hijiri using their influence and power to protect both Anzu and Kazuki despite the risks to their reputation and social standing
OH AND I wanted to mention. I love that all of the classic romantic tropes i.e. something happening to your cute neighbor’s apartment so that they’re forced to live with you while it gets sorted out--those are generally really cheesy and make huge plot holes and don’t make ANY sense in the narrative. But that’s the thing about RK, they make it funny, yeah your cute boy neighbor’s apartment flooded bc we need him to come live with you. We did it with magic. Yes your childhood friend is living with you now bc we had a weirdo break into your apartment--with magic. So now he feels like he needs to stay with you and protect you. Yes you got hit by a car with a really rich boy inside and now he’s interested in you. We also did this with magic. Everything that would be regarded as a “coincidence” and is a badly written plot point just to push two characters together is actually explained through the hilarious concept of magic and I LOVE that it’s so fucking funny
Honestly this show is really up to interpretation too which I like a lot? Some people think hey yeah, maybe Anzu will end up with someone. Others say you know what the message here is that friendship is the most important thing and sometimes platonic relationships are better than romantic ones. The ending is pretty ambiguous so it could really go in any direction.
Anyway I have so much more to say but. Just watch Romantic Killer it’s really good thanks bye

wc: ~850; context: set a few months into the last year of Aldera, Toshinori baits Bakugou into a fist-fight and they got in trouble with admin. this was mostly me testing out whether or not I could write Bakugou without stepping into the bashing zone. izuku pov.
//
The three of them wait outside the classroom: Kacchan impatiently, Izuku anxiously, and Yagi cheerfully.
“Yagi-san, what if you get expelled?” Izuku hisses, weaving his fingers together to stop them from twitching.
“Then I’ll get homeschooled? Honestly, Midoriya-kun!” He laughs under his breath, grinning way too big for a boy who got in trouble for beating up the star pupil of Aldera. Kacchan—looks small, next to him. Small and furious, like he doesn’t know the right way to get Yagi to shut up and sit down. Izuku prays that Kacchan never finds out that Yagi is actually All Might. Something might really break.
“Shut the hell up,” Kacchan snarls. “I can’t hear what they’re saying.”
“Ah, if I know my old man…”
“I told you to shut up!”
“You don’t want to place a bet on it, Bakugou-shonen?”
“WHO ARE YOU CALLING ‘YOUNG’?!”
The door swings open to reveal a pale-faced principal and a deeply unimpressed Gran Torino. The latter is out of uniform, but the clean-cut fashion of the button-up and slacks does an effective job at communicating Torino’s professionalism. He swipes the end of his cane at Yagi’s ankle, and Yagi yelps and jumps in surprise.
“Who are you calling ‘old man’?” Torino snaps.
“Sorry,” Yagi says unapologetically. “What’s gonna happen, jii-san?”
“You’re suspended for three days,” the old man announces, and because Yagi looks delighted at not having to attend school, meaning Kacchan looks furious at this apparent light sentence, the principal valiantly steps in.
“You’ll obviously have assignments over this period, to reflect on your actions. And Bakugou-kun must have an apology made to him.”
“I don’t want his stupid apology!” Kacchan spits.
“Fujita-san,” says Torino, “I believe I told you what was going to happen. I’ll get the parents’ permission. They might even be happy about seeing their son in action, if the boy wants to be a hero. Just get me two teachers.”
“Torino-san, this is a deeply improper way to handle the situation—!”
“The entire way you’re running your school is improper,” he drawls. “Don’t worry, it’s not an issue unique to your administration. I know what I’m doing, and I know my boy. He won’t be the one hitting below the belt.”
Izuku connects the dots faster than either Kacchan or Yagi. He blurts out, “Are you having them fight?”, and two blond heads whip around to stare (or glare) him down, then back at each other. Yagi’s grin widens.
Torino says mildly, “In martial arts classes, they call it a spar. Clears the head, knowing the hierarchy… of who’s better.”
The principal’s distress is palpable. “It’s not legal,” he protests.
“I’d win,” Kacchan declares, bristling. Izuku bites his tongue to stop himself from trying to intervene. This is not a fair fight that Torino is setting up; however Quirkless Yagi is, he hasn’t lost the experience of his time as All Might, and with all the training that Torino’s put them through, his muscle memory and reflexes are sharp. Just because Torino is promising to get parental and teacher supervision—god, it’s a whole trap. Kacchan can’t beat Yagi unless Yagi overestimates him. It would take a legitimate miracle for Yagi to lose.
“I don’t know, jii-san,” Yagi says playfully. “Isn’t that a little mean to Bakugou-kun? He won’t be able to use his Quirk in the fight.” Unlike today, his smile says.
“You need a Quirk to punch someone down?” Torino responds, and he rolls his eyes at Yagi’s tone. “That’s when you cross into villain territory. No. This is going to be good old-fashioned fisticuffs.”
Does Kacchan sense it? He must. He’s never been an idiot. The way his eyes dart down to Torino, assessing, attempting to reassess the old man’s threat level, to so casually propose arranging a fight between two fifteen year olds—Kacchan knows the shape of the trap, then. It just depends on whether he believes he can win.
And Kacchan, Izuku knows, believes in winning.
“Midoriya-kun,” the principal suddenly says, and Izuku flinches at the sheer hope in the man’s tone. “You’ve known Bakugou-kun for a long time. Did he start the fight?”
The weight of all their eyes is overwhelming. His loyalty is being torn two ways, and he doesn’t know who to save. If he stops this fight, and denies Kacchan the chance to show off his skills and heart, Kacchan will hate him. If he stops this fight, and affirms that Yagi threw the first punch, then—All Might won’t hate him. The wry twist to Yagi’s smile is basically a blessing to disavow his fellow Quirkless classmate.
But Izuku doesn’t want to disappoint All Might, or even Gran Torino.
He trembles, breathes shakily, and says, “Kacchan would never miss a fight he couldn’t win,” and in the time his audience takes to process, Izuku quite deliberately sides with Yagi. Not hiding. Standing elbow to elbow, in solidarity.
Kacchan’s face twists. “Deku,” he hisses.
“Focus, boy,” Torino says, and his cane clacks against the linoleum flooring. “Your fight’s with Toshinori. That is, if your parents agree to supervise.”
“What if they’re too busy?”
“We’ll find a time.”

Superhero tournaments are really just wild like. You have this kid who can make things float and this kid sweating actual nitroglycerin. There are no magic invulnerability bullets here. If floating girl gets exploded, she will be exploded just like a regular person. And her opponent is very actively trying to explode her because he expects her to be able to not get exploded. It is their first year of high school they have had so little professional training. Nurse healer lady I don’t think your powers extend to raising the dead from a burnt crisp. Crowds are cheering them both on and there are no blast shields protecting the also very explodable audience members. Who on earth thought this was a good idea.

Hi, just wanna add/bring up three more points to the DFO theory + Midoriya having a natural Quirk
Also some thoughts of 412 are included here:
1. What if it's behind the vault door? Why do the vestiges sit in front of it, almost as if they're guarding it? Why is that door the only thing intact?
When Kudo says he has to let go of OFA, what if that's so they can't hold back what's in the vault door? Why was it specifically Star's arm, when we know she was raising hell in AFO's world?
One For All can't be wielded by a normal person anymore. In other words, someone with a Quirk. By locking the Quirk away, does that count? And they're just holding it back so Midoriya doesn't become like Shinomori's shortened life or AFO's Singularity-body-warping? Since Yoichi already said they're past the point of Singularity, why hasn't Midoriya's body warped?
2. The post I made about AFO liking Quirks like Toga likes blood. Midoriya, like AFO, has a fascination of Quirks. He analyzes how people use theirs and is amazed by how hard Quirks are put to use for people. But he also has a great/innate understanding of Quirks, and managed to use the vestiges' with barely any training (ex. Fa Jin, Gearshift)
Unlike AFO, Midoriya looks at the person first (Eri, Shoto, Bakugo, etc), and even Kudo calls this out in 412, that he looks at the goodness in people's hearts. AFO looks at the Quirk first (Ragdoll, Best Jeanist), and discards the person. He never bothered to find Ragdoll after stealing her Quirk, nor did he care when he used corpses as the base for Nomus.
3. The double-pinky joint. Midoriya has this, and so it's believed he won't have a Quirk. But if he's technically second-generation, he can still absolutely have a Quirk; for the first generation, Abilities happened because of a newly-discovered gene. People who could have the joint could still have Abilities, because they were just normal humans and suddenly woke up to find maybe their hair is floating now. Abilities were just popping up at random, and I don't think it'd be reasonable that a lot of humanity had just been living without the extra joint. Abilities scared them because no one knew what caused them, and created a fantasy-ish Uncanny Valley effect
The pinky toe was discovered later, and people used it as a basis then, but it's rudimentary. Because Midoriya was told to give up by Garaki, and Inko just apologized and cried, Midoriya just believed he really didn't have a Quirk.
Which brings the next point:
4. We see Midoriya as a kid, tearfully trying to make his parents' Quirks work. Lifting objects, or breathing fire—but if AFO was his dad, he never would've had the ability to breathe fire.
The start of All For One was a blank slate of having no Quirks available, because none had been taken yet.
But Midoriya, rather than take, was given One For All: a Quirk. Even disregarding the DFO theory, this is a parallel of AFO and OFA.
All For One takes. One For All decides to be given.
If Midoriya had AFO as a natural Quirk, it makes sense he's classified as Quirkless. But it also makes sense that he can handle multiple Quirks in one body from OFA; because the nature of AFO is being able to hold multiple Quirks
Midoriya is past the point of Singularity. But he's completely fine. Broken bones, compared to the body morphing into something else entirely? He got a good deal.
Midoriya is Yoichi's embodiment of ["the power to give and take could have been the kindest in the whole world"].
Midoriya is like. An intersection of AFO and OFA then. He has AFO, but was given OFA, and wants to save everyone. Living exactly what AFO could have done with his Quirk: saving others.

What kind of hero is Present Mic?
So we know there are different categories a hero could be placed under depending on what kind of work they specialize in (Aizawa’s an underground hero, 13 is a rescue hero, etc, etc) But for the most part, most heroes seem to just be do-it-all basic heroes. And that seems to be the category Mic falls under. But was that always what he intended for himself?
For the answer to that, we’re going to go back to Vigilantes. Granted, the arc is actually about Aizawa, but unless the main series gives a flashback to Mic’s earlier life, it’s the best insight we have for him. Since the arc is centered around Aizawa and how lost he felt, it doesn’t focus a lot on Mic or Oboro’s thoughts and feelings, but one of the things used to show how directionless Aizawa was is his lack of a work study. Again, this is Aizawa’s story, but given that Hizashi and Oboro also don’t have work studies, I think there’s a good chance they were just as directionless as he was.
Tumblr media
So let’s talk about Hizashi. He’s the first of the three to get his work study, he’s recruited by the battle-oriented Buster Union due to his powerful quirk. Hizashi’s stated to be skilled at all parts of hero work, but Shota and Oboro are both still surprised that he would go with that and question if he’s cut out for being a fighter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, despite his powerful quirk that has him singled out by a powerhouse team, if he’s not a fighter, then what is he?
Tumblr media
Given that he’s front and center for rescue training, I’m guessing that was originally his specialty. It’s not that surprising, he’s friendly, cooperative, and personable, probably good at crowd control, and his Voice is well suited for evacuations. So then how come we rarely get to see him use his quirk that way? How come we’ve only seen him do crowd control once in Vigilantes and an evacuation in the third movie? His return to the Buster Union, screaming down the intruders at the USJ, cracking open Shigaraki’s tank, we don’t actually get to see him in action that often compared to some heroes, but every time we do, he’s in more of a fighter’s position than a rescuers.
So why? What happened to make him give up on becoming a rescue hero and become a fighter instead?
Simple. As a regular fighting hero he can just scream at villains and DJ punch evil doctors and put away bad guys and call it a day. As a rescue hero he would actually have to save people. And he just doesn’t think he’s very good at that anymore.

for @the-wild-wolves-around-you @ofmermaidstories and @willowser because you each deserve some good mando baku 🩶
“Wait mandalorians can get married?” You are more curious than anything and the question leaves you before you can even keep your mouth shut.
All focus is on the crowd before you. Everyone, including the familiar crimson beskar wearing warrior Kirishima, rushed to congratulate the two other mandalorians who stepped out of the tent. The couple simply walked out, announced they were married, and immediately celebration broke forth so fast, so bright it stole your breath. There was no question from the others, only joy and trust. You understood different cultures had various marriage traditions. Yet this one was so different than the other grand ceremonies composed of elegant gowns and fully packed banquet halls. It felt...more intimate.
“Yes we can marry, shitty Jedi.” Bakugo sounds almost offended and your heart crumbles fast into your stomach. This tentative whatever the two of you have forged is important to you and you don’t want to shatter it.
You apologize and mean it. “I didn’t know. The ceremony seemed so fast and private though.”
“It is.” Bakugo’s modulated voice drops softer through the helmet.
“Don’t know if it’s true, but there’s some old ass urban legend the first mandalorian marriage was done during battle. No ceremony, no pompous bullshit. The two just exchanged vows in the middle of battle to bind their lives together.”
An image surges fast in your mind. Two ancient warriors fighting side by side, the trenches of battle pushing the lovers further and further to the terrifying realization they might not see tomorrow. Their love, bloodstained and battle born.
“Legend says the shit they vowed became the vows mandalorians have said ever since.”
It’s a beautiful, sacred and so simple. But it conjures up a deadly new thought in your mind -
An army of storm troopers surrounds you. The ache of battle soaks you to your bones. Your body barely stands back to back against beskar. Suddenly you move without thinking. You turn fast towards the fierce mandalorian. With your lightsaber in one hand, the other reaches out to him and you find the familiar beautiful black colored beskar helmet is already looking at you. Without hesitation he grabs your hand-
You exhale loud, blinking back into reality as you mentally stab those thoughts away.
“That’s beautiful.” You truthfully admit, admiring as a grateful outsider. “I'm thinking the ceremonies are private for the sake of the helmet removal.”
“Yeah. S'why even other mandalorians aren't usually around when it happens. And cause...” Bakugo’s modulated gruff voice trails off. “…Shit, I’m going to sound even more ridiculous-”
“You won’t I promise.” You interrupt reassuring him as your eyes finally glance at him. His helmet is slightly tilted towards you. He sighs and looks back out to the crowd. You do as well.
“The vows, they're important. No one but us or those we're marrying can know them.“
They are meant to be said in private for that reason. The sacredness of knowing is too precious, meant to be shared with someone special. An aggressive curiosity claws at you. You want to know what is spoken and vowed. You rationalize this curiosity as simply wanting to understand the culture more. However, the force whispers the true reason why into the deep caverns of your heart and you cannot even face that truth yet.
The lightsaber silent on your hip weighs more than an entire galaxy.
“Hey guys!” Kirishima, loud and warm even through his helmet. “Isn’t it great?”
“It is.” You answer with a warm earnest grin. “I hope everyone gets to celebrate with the newlyweds.”
“Oh yeah! We already got a few plans in mind.” Kirishima’s voice holds a playful grin in it. Even though you cannot see his face you believe it to be just as bright as the two moons shining above.
“This making you think about your own upcoming ceremony, huh Bakugo?!” Then Kirishima’s words grab your heart. He slaps Bakugo’s shoulder playfully and the clanging clash of beskar hitting beskar makes your mind rattle.
“Get the fuck out of here.” Bakugo’s snarl is sharp, piercing. You had never even heard him talk this way to his fellow commander.
“Alright, alright I get it. Those pre marriage jitters I’m sure get to everyone even you!” Kirishima however is not phased one bit. He waves a playful goodbye and returns to the celebrating.
But it leaves you two alone again. The air is thin and tight. Even with the warm laughs and celebration bubbling so close, a dread builds.
“You’re…getting married?” Your voice is small, a bit confused. You do not even recognize it.
A moment passes.
“I…yeah.” He replies. The words puncture a hole in your chest and air is rapidly escaping. A hollowness quickly fills up the gaping space.
“It’s a political arrangement between the different clans.” Bakugo’s voice is composed, but it does not sound like him.
In the entire time you have known this warrior, you had never once heard him speak about his betrothed, much less about his impending marriage. And…you had never once heard him speak this quiet, almost distant.
“Oh.” Your voice mirrors his, just as quietly detached.
“Congratulations then.” You hate that you cannot find a single thread of celebration in your tone or feel any earnestly as the hollowness consumes you.
“I'm praying for the poor sucker stuck with marrying you.” You jokingly tease but the minute the words leave you, your eyes start to sting. Your lips twitch and the taste of tears comes in the back of your throat. An ache you cannot even process yet has the force retreating from you like a sacred small creature. All you do is simply swallow everything back.
Bakugo stays quiet, does not even respond to your jest or thank you for the congratulations.
Under the light of the two moons, the cheers of the marriage celebration continue to illuminate the air.
And you walk away, not saying another word.

I'm back on that Denki brainrot we talk about every so often
The one where he's away on a long mission and you call him, missing him and desperate. Just imagining him hoofing it back to his hotel room from wherever he was, maybe he was at a bar, maybe he was having dinner, maybe he was just finishing up his work; doesn't matter, he's hightailing it back to somewhere more private.
Imagining it starting off as just a phone call. He wants to hear how badly you miss him so he tells you to hold your phone up to your pussy so he can listen to how wet it is as you touch yourself. But phone calls aren't enough, so he asks you to get on FaceTime or something. Tells you to go through the drawer of toys and pull out the more kinkier ones. The inhuman ones. He wants to watch you use them. All the while he's fisting his cock.
I can't decide if he plays the more dominant one and you have to keep with his pace, or if it's the other way around. Either works honestly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i can’t decide either… but you know how i feel about switch/dom denki.
i can see denki making you go through the stash with the camera facing your drawer so he can ask for a specific one. he picks one big enough that you’ll have to start smaller and work your way up, but he doesn’t care. he just wants to see and hear his pretty girl all messy and straining to take that big toy. he talks you through it, tells you how good you are in between groaning whines, loves how perfectly it makes you pant from the stretch. “fuck, baby, you look so pretty, so wet for me. can you go bigger?… yeah? fuck, i need it. need to see you stretched out…. that’s it, lovebug, show me how good you can take it…. that’s my pretty girl….”

Let’s Talk About: MHA CH 394
This chapter was amazing.
There’s no other word to describe it but that.
This chapter was the absolute culmination of Uravity and Himiko Togas Arcs throughout this Final War as a whole and I love it. I knew they were going to be foils be god damn seeing them come to a satisfying conclusion like this is beautiful.
Something that I have seen people complaining about over the days leading up to the official chapter release is that this is Queer Baiting or that Uraraka doesn’t deserve this moment. I’m here to deny thos accusations.
While Ochacos development could have started long before the war officially began there have been hints of it throughout MHA. None of it more so than when she confronted Toga after Twice was killed and what we saw of her during the cleanup. A frequent problem I see when it comes to people looking at Ochaco is that they only look at the surface level, they read too quickly and miss the subtly of her character growth in later chapters.
Her expressions.
Her actions
Her words
Her eyes.
Especially her eyes. It’s something I’ve noted Horikoshi doing when it comes to their characters finding their way or coming to a positive turning part. The amount of detail and life in their eyes are stunning and impossible not to notice.
To date the ones I’ve really documented were Deku, Tsuyu, Ochaco and our resident dead boy Bakugou.
At one point I counted Himiko among that number but since Jins death there hasn’t BEEN any light in her eyes. There’s just been anger, just been hate and her reaching out to both Ochaco and Izuku for answers only deepened that. With the latter not understanding her meaning until the last moment before he had to leave and the former coming to understand what Himiko was going through. She tells Himiko that despite the side she’s on she hasn’t been privileged. She got i to this to make money for her family, so they could have more food in the table and her parents burden can be lifted.
Something that’s highlighted by her screaming at Himiko to let all of her emotions out and the next panel doing just that.
Tumblr media
We see Himikos past as she goes to stab Ochaco, we see how her parents reacted to her and how her counselor failed her. (Seriously fuck that woman holy shit that is not what you say to a fucking child good lord)
We see her go through the peoples she’s lost. Jin, Mag and most recently Dabi. We see her remember all of this and go to stab Ochaco---before stopping.
Tumblr media
She lets the words flow, allowing herself to fully open to Ochaco once again. Telling her of her past and how she views the world. Telling her how she loves and how she felt despair at how everyone told her how to smile---when all she wanted to do was be herself.
And Ochaco understands.
And Ochacos LISTENS.
She does not condone all her actions but she UNDERSTANDS and she LISTENS.
