Kalina is the most interesting character to me because of all she has going on…
she is Cassandra’s familiar, she is simultaneously a pet and a friend and a servant and a family to a goddexx that is simultaneously her owner and friend and creator and parent and her god and reason to be—Kalina’s relationship to Cassandra is hard to put a name or label on (since what does being a familiar even mean?) but the bottomline is that this cat loves her deity enough to put everything and everyone on the line for her…
And adding in that she is a child of divorce. So to speak. I am extremely normal and haven’t been driven mad by the detail that baby itty bitty kitty Kalina was at Cassandra’s wedding to Ankarna and is remembered to have been toddling after her as she walked down the aisle…
Kalina will be the death of me /lh

related to my last rb tho i'm gonna be a bit of a hater again, tho, and say it. you are all very lucky that steph was written as good as she was back in the 90s. all the issues (the jealousy, the not as compentent as male characters, the mistakes, the unreasonableness, etc etc) could have, in fact, been way worse. and might've been, actually, under another writer at the time.

sometimes when people describe astarion as pathetic, they'll list all his more feminine characteristics rather than like
it's fucking pathetic of him to be mad if you save the gnomes, even if you understand why he disapproves it. It's still fucking pathetic. he's also extremely pathetic when he ascends and starts becoming more like Caz, but it's bc it's pathetic that the power goes to his head like that simply bc he would rather insulate himself with power than allow himself to face his past and overcome it.
not because he deserves nice things and finery.

chain shipping is like the only saw ship that people always try and make softer. maybe shotgun shipping on OCCASION but like no one is doing that to coffin shipping or like. well that’s all the saw ships actually
i honestly dont know enough abt the state of hoffstrahm to speak to it much but i know it happens Sometimes with both of them i fear chainshipping is just the most popular/accessible as its built on one movie and the first in the franchise so it gets the most. how do i even say this. easygoing casual enjoyers vs like you need to see at least 3 to be into lynnmanda, 4 or 5 to be into hoffstrahm, etc. its so weird to me it loses all the appeal when you want any of them to be like happily married and healing together!!! at least give it a Little spice!! wheres adams anger wheres lawrence’s shortcomings in human connection wheres the desperation and guilt and such!

it took me 3 years to start reading the ballad of songbirds and snakes because I was very cynical about a villain prequel that kinda sounded like a cash grab, but it only took me 2 days to finish it. this is a really, really good book. holy shit. Snow is such a good villain protagonist. I called him a terrible person as quickly as chapter two and he still managed to elicit some sympathy (granted, from me, notorious villain stan). But that didn't change the fact that he was a terrible person the entire time. What a great change from the popular 'this villain was such a good person before!' prequels we often see

so trapped in the narrative that you can't be earnest about breaking free, but you can be earnest about being doomed, with love as your companion. yes the ship is sinking but I got to hold the love of my life as the cold seeped into our bones, as the life bled through us both. isn't that enough?

Lego Star Wars 3 Clone Wars kinda fucks. Usually I get bored a couple levels into a TT Lego game but the levels in this one aren't so bad and it has lite RTS missions that rule. I remember playing the game over a decade ago in high school with a friend helping him finish those missions, honestly I'm pretty sure we never played any other mode or walked around the hub or anything because it's all I remember. And yeah you might need a friend for some of those missions as they can get INTENSE.
Seriously I'm just like goddamn I'm having fun playing a Lego game this is crazy. Also The Clone Wars! And Ahsoka! You love her
