Today I want to talk about a Japanese animation legends: studio ghibli.
a world filled with extraordinary characters, uncanny transformations and breathtaking fantasy landscapes,
Where it seems anything can happen.
But, what's truly magical about Ghibli, in their films? is when they're at their most every day!
Two girls are standing at a bus stop and a giant forest troll walks up beside them? My neighbor totoro might be director Hayao Miyazaki's most spellbinding and iconic adventure but what makes this scene so transcendent?
Isn't Totoro himself, it's his enthusiastic response to the rain scenes like this crop up throughout Ghibli’s films moments where fantastical stories are filled with enthralling effects.
The combined hand-drawn skill of Ghibli animators, turn honey tea into a thing of wonder, is the best.
When we watch animation we expect to see things that are out of the ordinary but a unique gift is to infuse the ordinary, with magical qualities.
There is an inspiring attention to detail and a sense of wonder in those details that makes these scenes so transporting mysterious.
For ex: train tracks lead off into the horizon majestic, flying machines fill the sky and so on because in Studio Ghibli's films reality doesn’t always require realism.

The name "Ghibli" was chosen by Miyazaki from the Italian noun gobi, based on the Libyan Arabic name for hot desert wind : the idea being the studio would "blow a new wind through the anime industry".It also refers to an Italian aircraft, the Caproni Ca.309.

Spirited Away (Japanese: 千と千尋の神隠し, Hepburn: Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi) is a 2001 Japanese animated fantasy film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and animated by Studio Ghibli.
Spirited Away tells the story of Chihiro Ogino, a 10-year-old girl who, while moving to a new neighbourhood, enters the world of Kami (spirits of Japanese Shinto folklore). After her parents are turned into pigs by the witch Yubaba, Chihiro takes a job working in Yubaba's bathhouse to find a way to free herself and her parents and return to the human world.
Unanimously acclaimed by critics, it is considered one of the best films of the 2000s   and in the history of cinema.
When bringing their films to foreign markets, the studio has a strict policy against cuts and re-edits. This includes the translations needing to be as close to the original words and ideas as possible.
2. Their impact extends far beyond other animators. Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and many other legendary Nintendo properties, has cited the studio's works as an influence.
3. Hayao Miyazaki was born in 1941, while Isao Takahata is a few years older, having been born in 1935. They were both alive to see World War II as children and both of them lived through bombing raids, which were events that had a massive effect on them and their work. This can be more directly seen in Takahata's Grave of the Fireflies, which is about a brother and sister surviving in Japan after losing their mother and home to a bombing raid. It is an incredibly moving film that brings one to tears literally within its first three minutes.
Now, I will end my talk with a quote of this film, which won a ton of awards for its characters, story, design, music, writing, and more. This quote is from a minor character named Zeniba. She is a witch with a ton of wisdom.

The alleged relationship between Dragon Quest and Hunter x Hunter breaks
Fans of the long-running Hunter x Hunter manga series have long speculated why serialization is frequently interrupted for fairly long periods. Fans wove up a theory linking the manga's author Yoshihiro Togashi to an obsession with the video game franchise Dragon Quest, how did they come to this conclusion?
What is Hunter x Hunter?
Hunter x Hunter author Yoshihiro Togashi had already made a name for himself in the industry with the publication of the Yu Yu Hakusho manga. While this was published almost uninterruptedly between December 1990 and July 1994, Hunter x Hunter has not enjoyed this benefit, suffering from constant and extensive breaks. The series began publishing in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine more than 22 years ago, on March 16, 1998, and fans are still waiting for a new chapter to be published.
The story follows Gon Freecss, who is on the quest to become a Hunter to find his father, Ging. Along the way, he meets multiple and varied characters, such as Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio, with whom he sometimes shares the limelight. His travels so far have spanned 390 manga chapters in 22 years of serialization. Just so that the reader understands the impact of the constant pauses, the One Piece manga started to be published only a year before and has to date 978 chapters.
A fan has created a chart to help visualize the large time gap that has recently existed between the publication of a new chapter in the manga. Although the longest pause was between 2014 and 2016, with 80 editions of the magazine without a chapter, it should also be noted that since November 2018, chapter 391 has not been published, so it is shaping up to exceed that record. Why did this happen?
A popular theory among fans involves the Dragon Quest video game franchise as one of the causes, and points to Togashi as obsessed with it. This theory began after a photograph of Togashi sitting in a room playing one of the franchise games was released. From there, the internet community saw this theory born and fans soon created a wave of memes, discussions and research to prove it.
Although it is difficult to establish a direct relationship between the two events, it can be seen that new games from the Dragon Quest franchise have been released almost at the same time as the beginning of several breaks of Hunter x Hunter. Theories about manga artists who are obsessed with games are not only limited to this manga, a similar theory related to Berserk was already explained before, which related its author Kentaro Miura with the games franchise of The Idolmaster. However, pointing out a manga author for being distracted while enjoying a video game is a pretty unfair act on the part of fans.
Mangakas are under enormous stress from their editors, that's something everyone knows. They are always overworked, exhausted, and under immense pressure to meet deadlines. These stress levels have been proven to affect artists both physically and emotionally. In Togashi's case, it is clear that he experienced this pressure during Yu Yu Hakusho's serialization, especially during the final stretch of it. So when he saw that there was a chance to go through the same ordeal again with Hunter x Hunter, he might have chosen to take the situation differently. It is well known that Togashi suffers from intense and chronic back pain, so it is clear that this is a more credible cause of pauses than the almost ridiculous Dragon Quest theory.
However, since there is nothing proven, both theories must be credited with the benefit of the doubt, and in reality one does not exclude the other. If Togashi is trying to mitigate his psychological stress and physical pain, it makes sense to turn to a video game as a way of release and relaxation. While it's not yet known when the next chapter in the Hunter x Hunter manga will be released, we should let Togashi take his time, even if he was busy playing Dragon Quest.

逆転裁判 逆転姉妹 Part 3 (捜査 1)
This part goes from Phoenix’s second visit to Maya (the one where she reveals her mother’s story) to the end of the investigation, and it includes talking with April May and Grossberg. Here are part 1 and part 2.
1) When April May reveals for a second her true nature, Phoenix in Japanese simply comments “For an instant her expression changed/was strange!”. In English Phoenix is less of a Captain Obvious :P
2) No equivalent of “I like a man with a big vocabulary” - to Phoenix’s “complicated” language, April says “そんな方苦しい聞き方。もっと、仲良くやりましょうよぅ”, which is roughly “Such a difficult way to ask questions! Let’s be more friendly to each other”, which I personally find even creepier. (she is pretty 苦しい to understand herself...)
3) Shortly before Phoenix meets Grossberg, he thinks “この、偉そうな人特有の咳払いは…” (“This cough, characteristic of self-important people...”). The joke is that Maya often referred to Grossberg as 偉い, which means “great, remarkable, distinguished” but also “terrible”, and 偉そう can be either “important-looking” or “self-important”, basically pompous. So much information about Grossberg, and he barely coughed.
4) Small difference: when Maya asks why would you want to defend her, if you pick “someone else is the culprit” or “I don’t know”, Phoenix thinks back to April May’s and Grossberg’s behaviour - in the case of the former, in English he thinks “That witness’s strange behavior... was that all an act?”, while in Japanese he thinks “that strange witness who I feel was making fun of me...” (“僕をバカにしたようなあの妙な目撃証人...”) It drives home even more how insufferable April is.
5) Bluecorp Co. in Japanese is called コナカルチャー, コナカ being White’s surname in Japanese and カルチャー meaning “culture”. Yet another sign of White being a giant poser.
6) No “I’ll get to the bottom of this woman” pun either. It’s like the translators looked at this uwu woman bouncing her boobs in court and thought “you know, this character isn’t provocative enough”

Formula 4 Coming to My Racing Career
We finally decided to add Formula 4 cars and series to the game.
At the time when our game was started Formula 3 was suitable to serve as a starting point for the career but since then real world formula racing have been changed.Almost all national level formula series moved from F3 to F4 and also some smaller regional series.
Unlike modern more powerful formula cars there is no halo in F4. In real world there are 4 chassis manufacturers Ligier Crawford, Dome, Mygale and Tatuus, 6 engine manufacturers Abarth, Ford, Geely, Honda, Renault and Toyota and 4 tyre manufacturers Dunlop, Hankook, Kumho and Pirelli.
In our game drivers will be free to select any combination of these producers and build cars together with no restrictions.

Ligier Crawford 16
Crawford Composites is an American manufacturer of carbon fiber and composite parts company based in Denver, North Carolina. Crawford designs and manufacture structural and non-structural composite components in industries such as aerospace, aviation, motor sports, health care, defense and structural construction. At the end of 2016 Ligier Automotive took over Crawford Composites' competition department. The Regional F4 cars sold by the French manufacturer are now the exclusive models in the American championships where these cars work exclusively with Honda engines and Hankook tyres.
Dome Co. Ltd (株式会社童夢, Kabushiki Gaisha Dōmu), literally "child's dream", is a Japanese racing car constructor involved mainly in open-wheel and sports car racing. Dome was contracted to design and build all the cars for Japanese Formula 4 Championship and works there exclusively with Toyota engines and Dunlop tyres.
Mygale Racing Car Constructor (Mygale SARL) is a French racing car manufacturer that specialises in the production of single seater chassis for use in formula racing. It is most notable for its Formula Ford chassis. Mygale also produces the chassis used by in Formula Renault, Formula BMW, Formula Three and Formula Four. The company was established in 1989 by Bertrand Decoster and its factory is based in the Technopole of Magny-Cours, France. They built their F4 car in 2014 to support various national F4 series most notably British, Chinese and French Championships. Unlike other chassis which works exlusively with one engine supplier, Mygale works well with Ford, Geely and Renault engines.
Tatuus is an Italian chassis manufacturer for a series of formula racing series, being first founded in 1980. The company is known for its association with Renault Sport for its production of the Formula Renault chassis. For 2014 Tatuus was contracted to build all the cars for the Formula 4 Italian Championship, a new class under the rules of the FIA Formula 4. Currenty Tatuus supplies 6 Formula 4 series. In all of them Tatuus works exlusively with Abarth engines.
