To Levi, you were the most infuriating, idiotic, and impatient person to ever join the military. Every little thing you ever did he hated with his entire being: from the way you spoke to your squad, to the way you disciplined and trained them, even to the way you made your tea he hated. But, of course, he wasn’t being a hater for no reason.
You were a good fighter. Talented, agile, naturally gifted and athletic. You were capable of ridding a large area of titans within minutes, something not many scouts had a skill for. And although Levi had always silently admired that about you, that was the only thing that kept him from trying to get you kicked out. The two of you were opposite in personality: like opposite ends of earth, sun and moon, fire and water, the two of you had nothing in common and were never able to agree on anything.
“Everybody likes the new captain more than Levi,” he had overheard one of the other scouts whisper in the dining hall after you got promoted.
“Well, yeah. She’s so much nicer and a way better captain than Levi. She’s pretty, too.”
Pretty? Please, were those scouts blind? There was nothing pretty about you. Except for the fact that he seemed to be at a loss of words whenever his eyes looked into yours and the fact that whenever you pulled your hair out of your ponytail he got a whiff of your shampoo and took in a breath just to get a sniff of your shampoo and the fact that when you walked into a room you stole the attention of everybody there and the fact that you were so confident in your ability to run a squad and the fact that he did you find you pretty but he would never admit it and would rather feed himself to the titans than say so. But other than that, you spoke too much and too loud, you were taller than him, and you were annoying.
•••
“We’ve got a couple new scouts coming in,” Erwin spoke as he pulled out a sheet of paper from his desk, looking at the list of the new names of soldiers. He had called you and Levi into his office to discuss “important” things.
“I know you’ve just been promoted,” he looked up from the paper and into your eyes. “But these new recruits need some training and no one else is available to train them. Since you’re still a new captain yourself, I think it would be a good idea for Levi to help you and maybe teach you some things.”
Did he think you were incapable of training some new kids just because your promotion was recent? What kind of stupid logic was that? You were perfectly capable of training the new recruits all on your own and did not need that grumpy old short guy to help you.
“Sir, do not worry. I don’t require the assistance of captain Levi to train these new recruits. I think I know how to do that already,” you kept your hands behind your back and in clenched fists; your ego had taken a blow due to the fact that Erwin believed you needed help to do your job. Besides, you had a squad of your own and trained them yourself, so what made Erwin think you needed help?
“I think you do,” he replied flatly. “You’re a great captain and you’re good at training, but I think you’re too soft on your soldiers. Your soldiers need more discipline themselves…” he continued to list more stupid reasons as to why you needed Levi’s help, but you spaced out. Sneaking a peek at Levi standing beside you, you eyed his resting bitch face, absolutely no trace of human emotion on his face. Why was he being so quiet? Was he already informed of this before you? If so, why did he find out before you? Was he okay with doing it and that was why he wasn’t saying anything?
“They’ll be here this afternoon,” Levi turned to look at you, his voice stern and cold. “Their training will begin as soon as they arrive and if you’re late, you’ll be cleaning all the horses for tonight.”
“I’m never late,” you corrected.
“At yesterday’s meeting you showed up six minutes late. You are always late.” he told you bluntly.
“Well then, it’s settled. Try not to kill each other in the process of training the new recruits. We need to set an example and show them that the two of you are capable captains.” Erwin said proudly.
“Only one of us is a capable captain,” Levi says, rolling his eyes and turning to leave the room. Your eyes twitch in annoyance and your footsteps follow Levi’s out the office door. What the hell was he thinking? It would be such a waste of time to have both of you train the new recruits, so why would it be the two of you? And why did he say you’re always late? You’re never late! And if you weren’t a capable captain, why were you promoted? All Levi has ever done is shit on you and take any chance he can get to throw shade at you.
“I’ll have you know I’m a very capable captain. In fact, probably more capable than you. That’s why everyone likes me more than you,” you start lecturing him, catching up to his footsteps quickly as you follow him.
“People only like you more because you are nicer. Niceness does not kill titans; skills and weapons do.” he refuses to look at you, choosing to stare straight ahead.
“I know that.”
“Do you? Because since you became captain and began training more recruits, we have had a higher number of deaths since your dumb promotion.” he finally looked at you, eyes filled with such hatred it was like he could murder you if he stared long enough.
“That’s not true!”
“Of course you think that,” he rolled his eyes, his flat and monotone voice gone; he was beginning to get pissed. “You would know our deaths have been higher than usual if you bothered to put in effort and actually read the mission reports.”
“I do read them,”
“No, you do not. Because if you did, you would realize that the way you discipline and train our soldiers is doing them more harm than good. And you would change your ways of training. But instead, you hang around drinking with the others and making jokes and pulling pranks instead of doing your job properly.” Levi lectured, his voice laced with annoyance and hatred.
You always knew Levi thought you did a bad job as a captain, but you never thought he would actually say it to your face. He never said much to you, but when he did, it was just insults and lectures about everything you did wrong as a person.
“At least I leave time for fun! You’re all work and no play and this is why nobody likes you, Levi. Why do you think everyone calls you an old grumpy man?”
“Our soldiers are out here dying and you want to have fun? Are you that stupid, or do you just not have a brain? We don’t have time for your dumb little games, you idiot. Do you not care about the lives of our soldiers at all? Are you that much of a stupid brat that you are unable to comprehend that?”
You stare blankly at Levi. He was right. You didn’t realize it until now, but everything he said was right. While you never intended to poorly train anybody or get anybody killed, you realize that the way you did things probably caused the death of a lot of people because of you. Your heart sank and you were at a loss of words. You would never describe Levi as a nice person, but you didn’t think he was going to blow up in your face and insult everything you did. When all you do is stare at him in response, his eyes leave yours and he looks away awkwardly. After blowing up on you and practically yelling at you in the hallway, you grew silent and he was starting to feel awkward.
“See you tonight.” is all he says before he walks off, leaving you alone in the hallway.
•••
You were late. And not even by a few minutes, but by two hours. Two whole hours. After yelling at you in the hallways, you had gone to your room to take a nap and sleep off how you were feeling. Unfortunately, you overslept and nobody bothered to come and get you to wake you up.
Levi was going to kill you.
After sprinting your way to the training area like your life depended on it (because it did), you found Levi standing in front of the new recruits, his chin held high and proud as he spoke to them. When you walked up awkwardly to his side, he turned and rolled his eyes at you.
“Ah, the incapable captain I told you all about,” he begins, his eyebrows furrowing in annoyance because of your presence.
“At least I don’t need a step stool to grab some cups in the kitchen cabinets,” you automatically responded, straightening out your uniform. Your comment earned a couple laughs from the new recruits.
“Don’t forget you’re washing the horses tonight, captain.” his sharp eyes looked up at yours, a mischievous glimmer glowing in them. Ha! He thought you were actually going to listen to him and clean the horses?
“You are not my captain anymore, Levi. We are now equals, so I no longer take orders from you.” you grinned sarcastically. Now that you were standing in front of him again, you began to feel re-pissed from earlier.
“I’ve been a captain longer than you.”
“That doesn’t mean anything.”
“You might be a captain now, but remember you used to be in my squad.”
“Thankfully, I’m no longer part of it.”
Levi turns to you and eyes the pillow mark on your cheek, a smirk coming to play on his lips. When he noticed you weren’t on time, he had thought that maybe you were still mad at him earlier and decided you weren’t going to show up. While that might have pissed him off, he wouldn’t be surprised if that was what you were going to do.
“What the fuck are you looking at?” you retorted after noticing that he was looking at you for more than half a second. His stupid face was a waste of good looks.
“She is a perfect example of what you don’t want to do,” he turned back to the recruits. “Too lazy to show up on time and too lazy to fix themselves up before leaving the room.”
Your eyes twitch in annoyance and you lean down slightly to whisper to Levi. “When I wash the horses tonight, I’ll be sure to miss yours. I know how pissed you off you get when something or someone isn’t clean.”
He knew you weren’t joking. He knew that you knew exactly how to push his buttons. And if there’s one thing he knew about you, it was that you were petty and what you said wasn’t a threat, but a promise. But when you leaned down to whisper into his ear, your strands of hair that softly brushed against his cheek had him hesitating to say anything. He got a whiff of your shampoo and looked away. It smelled like peaches. Your whisper felt like a gentle tickle in his ear, your voice so low and sultry it annoyed him.
You were annoying.
“You don’t want to be on her squad. Trust me everyone, she’d probably get you killed.” Levi tells the recruits, his feet planted firmly where he was standing. He wasn’t moving away from you.
“Captain Levi here would probably overwork you all to death before that happens.” you send a sweet smile to the soldiers standing across from you and Levi.
“Right, well there’s a reason I’m humanity’s strongest soldier and not you.” the not-so-subtle brag had you rolling your eyes.
“There’s also a reason everyone calls you a grumpy old man behind your back,” you smile at everyone and Levi takes a deep breath in annoyance.
“Nobody calls me that.”
“Everybody calls you that.”
“That’s not true.”
“Of course you wouldn’t know. I just said that everyone says it behind your back. Were you not listening?”
“Every time you speak I choose not to listen.”
“Choose not to? Or can’t because your hearing is so bad now that you’re old?”
His mouth twitches. He is annoyed. “I might be older than you, but I’m still stronger than you.
“Oh, are you getting irritated, captain? I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were so sensitive to words. Must be a thing that happens when you get old…”
Before Levi is about to insult you back, the two of you hear a faint voice in the background. “Captain!” both of you turn around. It was Jean.
“Why are you interrupting us?” Levi glares, crossing his arms. “What do you want?”
“Hange told me to come get you guys. We’ve got food in the dining hall to celebrate the new scouts.”
“We’ve barely begun training. They can eat when they’re fin—”
“Dinner is serrrrved!” you exclaim, throwing your hands up in the air in victory. “Let’s go eat, newbies! You’ll need all the energy you can get if you are gonna kill some titans!” as you holler and hype up the scouts, you walk off and direct them all to follow you, leaving Levi in the dust.
As he watches you walk off, Levi’s eyes can’t help but drift to the person walking beside you. Jean.
•••
It’s like his eyes had a mind of their own. Almost like it was against his will, Levi’s eyes followed you around the dining hall. You were the life of the party: charismatic, friendly, and humorous. There was music and food and laughing and you were dancing for the scouts, a bright smile plastered on your pretty face. Normally he wouldn’t think much of it or even care to look, but a certain someone wouldn’t stop looking at you and touching you and being friendly with you.
Jean.
He knew the two of you were friendly, but he never thought it was anything more than that. But tonight, as he was watching you dance, Levi noticed that he wasn’t the only one watching you. Jean’s eyes followed you like you were the only person in the entire room. Jean admired you from his seat, hollering in excitement and hyping you up to the music.
Not that Levi cared. Of course not. Why would he? He totally wasn’t just sitting on some chair in the corner of the dining hall too cranky or upset to talk to anybody because he didn’t like the way Jean was looking at you. Where was Mikasa? Didn't the kid have a crush on her?
Levi scoffs to himself, taking a sip of his tea as he continues watching you. He sees you saunter over to Jean, grabbing his cup and taking a sip of it before smiling at him. Levi’s eyes can’t help but roll back. Why did you look so happy and smiley next to Jean? Why did it look like you were flirting with him? And why was Levi getting annoyed?
Why did he care anyway? He just found you annoying. Your presence, your personality, your entire being annoyed him. He stood up abruptly, setting his tea down and walking out to get some fresh air.
“Enjoying the party?” It was you.
“Did you follow me out here?” He leaned on the wooden fence railing and looked up at the night sky.
“You stomped out like a cranky old man, so I thought I’d check up on you.” you teased, coming up and resting your arms on the railing as well.
“I was doing just fine until you came out here. Don’t you have your boyfriend to go back to?” he couldn’t help but bring up Jean. He was nosy and wanted to so badly know if there was anything going on between the two of you.
“Which one?” you tried to joke, but you forgot he didn’t have a sense of humor because he just stared at you.
“Are you curious if I have a boyfriend or not?” you ask after a beat.
“I don’t care.”
“Bullshit. You must be curious at least a little bit. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have asked.” you tease, leaning towards him and tilting your head and waiting for an answer.
Fuck, why did you have to look at him like that? Head slightly tilted, hair tousled from dancing around, a bright glimmer of hope beaming in your eyes, something he lost a long time ago. His eyes met yours, and he found himself staring at you. Observing, admiring, memorizing your features. He blamed the glistening stars and the shining light of the moonlight that made you look so beautiful. He had found other people beautiful before, but your beauty couldn’t even be compared to others. There was something about you that always hooked his attention, always had his eyes searching for you, and always had his heart beating faster. Although he found you annoying and couldn’t stand being near you, when you weren’t around he found himself searching for you. Thinking of you. Longing for you.
“Are you staring at me, captain?” you teased sarcastically, a smug smile on your pretty lips.
“You’re just so ugly it’s unbelievable someone as ugly as you even exists.” what the fuck just came out of his mouth? It was an automatic response, something he would say out of annoyance but not actually mean. Levi felt himself panic a little, his heartbeat speeding up in fear of how you would respond.
“Oh yeah?” you smiled once more and his eyes wandered down to your lips. He wondered what they would feel like against his own. “If I’m so ugly, why do you keep looking at me? Why don’t you look away?”
You leaned in closer to him once more, your lips close to his if you even slightly moved forward you would be kissing. There was a moment of silence that sat between the two of you. You felt his breath on your lips, your gaze moving down to them. His heart began to race; why did it look like you were about to kiss him? Why were your eyes on his lips? And why were his eyes beginning to drift to yours?
“Levi,” your voice a whisper. His head tilted slightly to the side, like he was getting ready to lean and kiss you. The background noise of music and the scouts cheering inside faded away because all he could focus on was your lips.
“Yes?” He sounded so sweet, so soft. It wasn’t like him at all; he had never been this nice to you. Usually when you tried to get his attention he always answered with nothing but a cold attitude.
“What do you want?”
“If you’re going to say something stupid like you usually do, go bother someone else. Unlike you, I actually have work to do.”
“Don’t fucking talk to me right now. I’m not interested in whatever bullshit you have to say, you brat.”
“Do you—” you began.
“CAPTAIN!” the door behind you slammed open, a slightly drunk Jean stumbling out and holding his beer up. “We’re playing a drinking game, come join us!”
“I’m not interested. Fuck off.” Levi angrily replied.
“Oh. I wasn’t talking to you,” Jean awkwardly said, eyes drifting from Levi to you.
“A drinking game? Sounds fun!” you excitedly smiled, straightening back up and pulling away from Levi. As you began to follow Jean back inside, you felt a firm grip on your arm.
“She’s not interested either,” Levi spoke for you, his hand tugging you back to where you were standing next to him. “We’re discussing mission stuff.” he doesn’t know why he said that. A lie like that just rolled off his tongue so easily and so automatically. If he was being honest with himself, he didn’t want you to go back inside, but stay out there with him.
Jean seemed to notice the hostile vibe from Levi, nodded, then walked back inside. Levi’s hand stayed wrapped around your arm, his grip strong and firm.
“What are you doing?” you asked.
“If you go back in there and start drinking, you’re just gonna get drunk and I’m going to have to take you back to your room again.” he complained, but really it was just an excuse to get you to stay out there with him.
“That was one time!”
“You fucking threw up on me! Twice!”
“Well, where was I supposed to vomit? My bed?!”
“Just don’t throw up at all!”
“How could you say that to a drunk person?!”
“Maybe don’t get drunk and I won’t say that!”
“Ugh, whatever. This is why nobody likes you, Levi.” you roll your eyes, shaking your hand from his grip. You get drunk one time and he decides to bring it up at every chance he gets.
“You think I care about what other people think?”
“I think you care what I think of you.”
“You’re thinking wrong. Maybe if you actually had a brain you wouldn’t say that. I don’t know what Erwin was thinking when he promoted someone as stupid and incompetent as you.”
“Whatever, short bitch.” you snorted.
“What did you say to me?”
“Oh sorry,” you sarcastically apologize, dramatically leaning down. “Lemme lean down to your level so you can hear me. I forgot you’re old, too.”
He scoffs, flicking your forehead aggressively with his middle finger. “OW! What the hell was that for?”
“For being such a brat.”
“What? Me wanting to go and have some fun is being a brat?”
“Yeah. If Jean hadn’t suggested something so stupid, you wouldn’t want to do something so stupid.”
“What does this have anything to do with Jean?” you questioned. Why was he suddenly bringing Jean up? “Wait,” you pointed an accusing finger at him. “Are you jealous?”
“What? Are you stupid? What kind of dumb question is that?” he scoffs again, leaning back on the railing and rolling his eyes. He tried to hide it, but the faint pink on his cheeks was obvious.
You gasped dramatically, covering your mouth. “You are, aren’t you?!”
“No!”
“Would you look at that,” you tilted your head in amusement. “Captain Levi is jealous.”
“Not only are you stupid, but you’re crazy too.”
“Insult me all you want; I know you’re jealous.” you couldn’t help but grin to yourself. Excitement fluttered in your chest and you peeked at Levi, trying to see if he had any sort of reaction.
Although you looked at him and waited for some sort of reaction, Levi was still able to keep himself together. It felt as if his heart was about to explode and his hands were clammy from being nervous and he wanted to avoid all and any eye contact with you because if he even looked at you for one second his facade would break.
You wouldn’t stop staring. Your soft, inviting, and beautiful eyes would not leave his face and the more you stared the harder it became to keep a straight face. He needed to change the subject.
“About the other day after leaving Erwin’s office,” he started. “I’m sorry for what I said. I should have been a little nicer about it.”
Levi apologized? To you? If there was one thing you thought you would never hear from the old grumpy guy, it was an apology.
“Even though what I said is true, I could have worded it better so that you wouldn’t cry.”
“I didn't cry!”
“I know you did. I walked by your room after that and heard you.”
“You listened in on me crying? You’re such a freak,” you poked fun at him. “I didn’t even know you were capable of apologizing. Or even feeling bad.”
“I know you’re a sensitive person.”
“I am not a sensitive person.”
“Yes you are.”
“No, I am no—”
“Would you just shut up and accept my apology?” he burst out, ruthless eyes glaring at you.
Levi was an impatient man. “You don’t apologize to someone and demand for them to forgive you,” you lectured. “That’s not how it works, captain. Of course you wouldn’t know; this is probably the first time you’ve ever said sorry.”
He knew he shouldn’t have apologized because all you were going to do was critique it and annoy him again. “Whatever,” he rolled his eyes, pushing himself off the fence. You knew he was about to leave. “Don’t get too drunk. I’m not going to take you back to your room if you do.”
“I’ll have Jean take me to my room then. Or maybe his.” you brought him up again, just to test the waters and make sure he was actually jealous and you weren’t just crazy. You didn’t actually intend on getting drunk or having Jean escort you back to your room, you just wanted a reaction.
“Do whatever you want.” he brushed you off, waving a hand in dismissal as he began walking away.
•••
Maybe it was the alcohol or the midnight sky or the glistening stars, but since that night you and Levi were able to have a somewhat decent conversation without wanting to throw the other across the room. And since that night, his insults haven’t been as harsh as usual and he didn’t jump at every chance to point out everything that was wrong with you. Surprisingly, he actually began to speak to you as if you were a human and had human emotions. It felt weird at first, and you thought that maybe he was only acting that way because you were forced to train the new scouts together, but even after their training finished, he was slightly nicer to you. If he kept it up, you might even consider him your friend.
He might have begun being nicer to you, but that wasn’t the case for Jean. Jean was getting scolded more often and more harshly than usual, over the smallest things that didn’t even matter. It was so obvious that even the other scouts started noticing.
“Jean’s getting scolded again,” you overheard Armin inform his friends in the dining hall. Your eyes shifted to Levi and Jean a couple feet away. Jean was looking away in shame and Levi was staring up at him, mouth going off and blabbering about how his tea was lukewarm.
“Over what?” Eren asked.
“Captain Levi asked Jean to heat up his tea, but apparently it wasn’t hot enough.”
“HA! He probably deserved it!” Eren cracked up, grabbing his stomach in the process to soothe his laughter.
“But haven’t you noticed too,” Armin lowered his voice in an attempt to be more secretive. You heard your name and all of a sudden their conversation was interesting and now you were listening on purpose. “He’s been so nice to her lately…”
You began to crane your neck towards the young scouts, nosy and desperate to hear what they were saying about you. Nonchalantly taking a sip of your drink, you felt a firm hand grip your shoulder. “Captain,” you looked up.
It was Levi. You never thought much of it before, but now that Levi was referring to you as captain had your heart doing leaps in your chest. It was small and insignificant, but something about him putting respect on your name and calling you with your title made you feel appreciated.
“Come with me. Mission meeting.”
•••
You had forgotten that Erwin asked the two of you to team up and join squads together on an upcoming mission. Since Levi had toned down his attitude towards you, Erwin took it as a sign and assumed the two of you were growing closer. Unfortunately, the mission didn’t run as smoothly as you had hoped.
You sustained an injury, it was light and minor, but it still worried everyone. You had crashed into a tree, a couple tree branches scraping you and drawing blood. You had hastily ripped off a part of your shirt, clumsily wrapping it around the injury on your arm in an attempt to stop the bleeding. Now that you were back in the walls safely, you were trying to wrap your arm up again with bandages with one hand. You struggled, failing to wrap it around your bleeding arm, cursing under your breath and debating whether or not you should go out and ask for someone’s help. Luckily, someone walked into the room to help you.
That someone was Levi.
He walked in silently, his light footsteps were the only sound in the room as he walked up to you. “Need help?”
“No, I don’t. I’m perfectly capable of doing it on my own.”
“Doesn’t look like it. You’re still bleeding.”
“I’m not blind, I can see that.” you remarked, once again struggling to wrap the bandage around your arm. You hissed in frustration and pain. Why wouldn’t the stupid bandage just wrap around you?
“You’re such an idiot,” he commented, stepping in front of where you were sitting. He stood between your legs, your legs touching his. He didn’t make a move to pull away, his slender fingers brushing against yours as he took the bandage from your hands and gently wrapping it around your wound. His hands were soft. Contrasting his personality and attitude, his hands handled you with a gentle touch.
“I told you to be careful before we left for the mission,” he said, securing the bandage around your arm. Your eyes drifted to his slender hands, veins slightly protruding as he applied pressure to the bandage. “And you didn’t listen.”
“You think I wanted to get hurt on purpose?” you retorted, rolling your eyes and wincing at the pain of your injury.
“Does it hurt?”
“Duh.”
“Weakling,” he finished wrapping you up, his eyes staring down into yours. “You need to be more careful next time.” his voice was almost a whisper, filled with a slight touch of concern.
“I know that already.” your eyes stayed on his. His sharp eyes focused on your face, his pupils darting around the details on your face. Was there something on your face? You felt a rush of insecurity and an embarrassing blush grew on your cheeks. “Is there something on my face? Why do you keep looking at me, huh? Got a crush on me or something?”
You watched Levi inhale deeply, his breath lightly brushing against your cheek and you suddenly realized just how close he was standing in front of you. Even though he already finished wrapping you up, he was still standing close to you, his legs brushing against yours. You watched his Adam's apple bob up and down as he swallowed nervously, his eyes going from watching your face to looking away.
“Don’t be ridiculous,” he warned.
“Oh?” you suddenly smiled with confidence. You loved watching him when you irritated him; he got annoyed so easily it was amusing. And when he got irritated, the warning look he shot at you with his eyes sharpened and hard, made you want to push his buttons even more.
“Is it really so ridiculous? Because you can’t seem to take your eyes off me, just like the other night. Am I really so ugly you’re unable to look away?” you remark, thinking about how he called you ugly the other night in a panic when you caught him staring at you.
“Yeah,” he agreed. “I’ve never seen anyone as unattractive as you are.” his eyes dropping down to your lips and lingering on them.
You don’t know why, but in the moment you wondered how he would react if you kissed him. The looks he kept giving you made you weak in the knees and you couldn’t help but want to give into your desires.
“Then why are you staring at my lips, captain?” you challenged, a teasing smile creeping up.
“Because you talk too much,” his eyes darted to  yours for just a beat before dropping back down to your lips. “You talk too much…” he repeated, but this time it was a whisper, his lips hovering over yours. “And you’re too loud…” he whispered, his voice laced with a strange sweetness you had never heard before.
“I talk too much and I’m too loud? Oh yeah, then what else do you hate about me?”
“You’re too cocky,” he answers you, his arms coming down to rest on the chair you were sitting down on either side of you. You got a whiff of his scent and inhaled the smell of bar soap. “And when you’re hanging around the other scouts, you dance so horribly it hurts to look at.” his head tilts to the side almost as if he was ready to kiss you. All you had to do was move forward the tiniest bit and you’d get to taste his lips.
“You watch me when I dance?” you grin, tilting your head the other way and leaning in just a bit. When you leaned in, you noticed he didn’t make a move to lean away from you. You have never been this close to Levi, so now that you were, you felt a rush of excitement and wanted more of it.
“Yeah, you’re so bad at it, it’s entertaining.” you saw a small grin appear on his face, something you almost never saw.
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah,” he quickly says before leaning down and lightly brushing his nose against yours, if he moved any closer his lips would be on yours. He exhales against your skin, his breathing uneven as he attempts to hold himself back.
When he doesn’t make a move, you grow impatient and lean in to kiss him yourself. To your surprise, he doesn’t pull away, but instead surrenders to his desires and closes his eyes. He is still for a moment, and you wonder if it is because he regrets kissing you back or if it is because he’s nervous. You lean in to him a bit, trying to signal to him to start actually kissing you back. The faint taste of black tea covers your lips before a sudden realization, and your eyes shoot open.
“Was that your first kiss?” you ask, pulling away and smirking down at him, the new memory of levi moving his lips against your clumsily in an attempt to kiss you made you smile.
His eyes widened in fear and embarrassment. “W-What? No!”
“Oh my, captain. I didn’t know you had this side to you. Wanna kiss again? I'll show you how to do it.” you wink, enjoying the slight blush that crept up on his cheeks as his eyes looked everywhere but yours.
“I’ve kissed people before!”
“Your mother doesn’t count.”
“I wasn’t talking about her!”
You grab his chin, tilting it downwards as you look up at him. “That’s cute. You’re cute. Kiss me again,” you lean in excitedly. After finding out how inexperienced he was, it made you want to kiss him even more. When you’re about to lean in and kiss him again, Levi panics and hastily puts his hands on his shoulder to stop you.
“I—what are you doing?!”
“What? You don’t wanna kiss me anymore?”
“You… you brat. You made fun of me,” there is a slight pout on his lips.
Oh. He was hurt you had made fun of him. Well, you didn’t know he was that sensitive to it. “Sorry,” you tell him. You stand up, stepping away from him because now you’ve just made it awkward and feel the urge to leave. When you wait for his response and it’s silent, you decide to leave.
Levi can’t believe what he just did. He let you kiss him?! What the hell was he thinking? Was he actually out of his mind? Of all the people there, why did it have to be you? All you ever did was annoy him with your stupid face and stupid and arrogant attitude.
But as he continues standing there after you had just walked out, he can’t help but want to go after you and apologize. He can’t help but want to tell you that he was just nervous and excited and that he didn’t know what to do and that he actually did want to kiss you.
Your lips were warm and soft and even though it was a moment, your kiss made him feel safe. Your kiss had him melting, wanting more. More of the kiss and more of you.
•••
It was freezing. Levi should have gone back to his room and tried to light a fire again and cover himself with his blankets and gone to sleep but his mind was too busy with thoughts.
Thoughts of you.
His eyes fluttered closed for a moment as he leaned on the fence outside his room’s porch, breathing in the crisp midnight breeze. In his head, vivid images of your lips on his invaded his mind. A pink blush crept on his cheeks as he recalled the exhilarating feeling of your lips on his. He hastily shook his head; he didn’t want to give into that feeling. He was falling for you and he was falling hard. He had to get his head straight.
Taking a deep breath in an attempt to push away thoughts of you, he walked back into his room and tried to light a fire again. His stupid clumsy hands couldn’t light the stupid fire and was getting annoyed. His mind jumped to an outrageous idea: what if he just visited your room so he could just use the fireplace there instead of wasting his time trying to use his? Was he just using that as an excuse to go visit your room? Of course not. It would be such a waste of matches if he lit his own fire. And, of course, he wouldn’t want to waste his matches…
Levi felt ridiculous. What the hell was he doing, standing in front of your door in the middle of the night and knocking? Was he that desperate to see you he had to come find you in the middle of the night? And what was that dumb excuse of using your fireplace for heat to come see you?
“Levi?” you raised an eyebrow in confusion when you opened the door. “What’re you doing here?”
His eyes immediately looked you up and down, admiring your figure as you stood there in your nightgown, waiting for him to answer you.
“Captain,” he spoke, at a loss of what to say. “Um, well it’s a little cold…”
“Yeah.”
“A-And I was trying to make a fire, but I couldn’t.”
“Okay.”
“So I thought maybe—maybe you had a fire going in your room.” he sounded awkward and rigid. God, why was he struggling to get words out that made sense? He was already mortified enough he came knocking at your door in the middle of the night, but he was even more mortified when he noticed the way you look. Your nightgown was thin, almost see through, and he could see the curve of your breasts through it, your nipples peeking out from the thin material.
“Well, as you can see,” you opened the door slightly wider and showed him your fireplace. “I do have a fire going.”
“That’s what I thought,” he paused, trying to decide how he wanted to ask if he could come in. No matter how much he thought about it in the mere second he hesitated, there was no good way to ask. No matter how he would word it, he’d sound desperate and obvious that he just wanted to come in and see you.
“You already said that.”
He decided to just rip off the bandaid; he already looked pathetic showing up at your room, there was no point in pretending anymore. “Do you mind if I come in? For the… for the fire? It’s a little cold.” he sheepishly asked, nervously rubbing the back of his neck. Jeez, he felt like such a loser.
Until now, he didn’t see you show any sort of reaction or emotion to him knocking on your door, until now.
You tilted your head in amusement, a smirk growing on your face. “Oh? Are you sure that’s the only reason you want to come in, captain?” you teased, leaning down slightly to meet his eyes.
Levi’s eyes couldn’t help but wander down to your cleavage, the cut of your dress was low and exposed you. “What other reason would I have?”
“Oh, I don’t know,” you feigned innocence. But if someone saw us, they could assume you’re here for something else besides just wanting to warm up…” you told him mischievously, your eyes checking the hallway for anyone. His eyes bulged and his breath caught in his throat, unable to come up with a response.
“I’m joking,” you break the silence, crossing your arms and smiling at his response. When Levi wasn’t lecturing you or yelling at you, he was cute. “Come in.” he walked in silently, choosing to sit on a chair as you sat on your bed.
“So what brings you to my room at this hour?”
He didn’t want to outright say it was because he wanted to see you, but he wanted to see you. “I’m sorry,” he began. “About earlier. I panicked, so that’s why I pushed you away.”
“No worries, there’s no need to apologize. I wasn’t mad.”
That was it? Levi was overthinking and worried that he had upset you, but you brushed it off like it was no big deal.
“Oh. Okay.”
“Was that all you needed?”
“Um,” he’s trying to think of something else to say—something else to say, so that he won’t have to leave (really so that you won’t kick him out and he has an excuse to stay), but his mind has been blurry since he stepped foot into your room. He is nervous: hands clammy and shaky, breathing uneven and louder than usual, and eyes struggling to meet yours.
“You look like you want to kiss me.”
“What?! No, I don’t!”
“Oh yeah? Then why do you keep looking at my lips?” you questioned.
He didn’t realize his eyes kept running back to your lips. He stands up abruptly, heading for the door in embarrassment. Levi reaches for the door, stepping forward to walk out. When he’s halfway out the door, he panics, quickly backing into your room, but he bumps into you.
“What’re you—” you had originally stood up to watch him leave and close the door when he backs into your space. You get a whiff of his hair, it smells subtle and clean.
“Shit,” he slams the door and turns around. “I saw someone in the hallway.”
“And?” you look down into his eyes, panic rising in them.
“What would people think if they saw me walking out of your room in the middle of the night?” he nervously says, fidgeting with his hands in front of him, his back pressed against your bedroom door as he looks into your eyes.
“Well,” you start. “Why are you really here anyways? Is it actually because you’re cold? Or is it something more?” your tone sounds suggestive.
“You’ve misunderstood.” he speaks, his voice barely a whisper and his eyes lingering on your lips.
“Did I?” you reply, your eyes dropping down to his lips. He licks them unconsciously, almost leaning in.
“Yes, I don’t like you that way.” a total lie.
“You don’t like me?” you smile and lean closer to him. He stands there firmly, his nose brushing against yours as he finally looks up into your eyes.
“Not at all.” he doesn’t even bother to try and hide the fact he’s lying.
“Then why do you keep staring at my lips? You look like you wanna kiss me.” you told him again.
“No,” he inhales sharply, his breathing uneven as he moves his mouth dangerously closer to yours.
“So what? You hate me?”
“Yes,” he leans in, pressing his lips against yours. His lips are still against yours for a moment before he pulls away, cheeks red and eyes droopy. “I hate you.”
Maybe it was because your room was warm and cozy and inviting, or maybe because it was late at night and he was just desperate and lonely, but kissing you had Levi feeling shaky and nervous but excited. Your lips were warm and soft against his and he found himself wanting to press his body against yours in an attempt to be closer to you.
He had tried so hard to suppress his desires to be with you, to be near you, to want you. But the walls he forcefully put up were crumbling so easily with a simple kiss from you.
He leans in again, this time more aggressive and desperate. You smile into the kiss—he had no idea what he was doing. But the fact that he was so desperate and wanted more so badly he was willing to make a move himself had you feeling warm and fuzzy on the inside. You pull away, his lips searching for yours as you do.
“Gentle now, captain.” you whisper. It felt as if he was in a rush when there was no need for that.
Your hand gently came up to his cheek, softly touching his skin. He leans into your touch, his eyes fluttering closed. It was like he was under a spell: he was so quiet and so desperate, it wasn’t like the usual Levi.
“Still hate me?” you joke.
His eyes open. This time, they’re no longer empty. His eyes are soft, focused on yours, hopeful of what is to come next.
“Yes.”
“I like you, too.” you lean in, kissing him slowly and gently. Your hands snake through his hair, tilting his head slightly to gain better access to his lips. His arms wrap around your neck, pulling you closer to him as he presses his body up against yours. His back is pressed up against the door, and you can feel his rapid heartbeat through his shirt causing you to smile into the kiss. He quickly becomes breathless, pulling away from you, his lips hovering over yours.
As quickly as he pulls away, he pushes himself into you again, longing for more. You kiss him back, your tongue lightly licking at his mouth, asking for permission. He hesitantly opens his mouth into the kiss. Kissing him makes you feel as if you’re drunk. It’s so addicting and so satisfying it makes you want more. You lick inside his mouth, your fingers tightly gripping the roots of his hair. You pull away, your fingers grabbing his hair and tugging on it and forcing him to look into your eyes. He breathes heavily, his eyelids barely open and lips glistening wet.
“Kiss me more,” he breathes.
“Why should I?” you tease.
“I want—no, need more of you.”
“If you want me that bad, beg for it.”
You wanted Levi to beg for it?! As if he wasn’t already embarrassed enough, you were going to make him beg for more? Did he look that desperate you thought you could make him beg for it and he’d pull through and actually do it? There was no way he was going to do that. Absolutely not. He’d rather—
“Please,” he automatically said. Even though his head was telling him not to, his heart wouldn’t listen. His hands run down your back and wrap around your waist. You can feel the warmth of his hands through your nightgown, his hands rubbing at your hips soothingly.
“Hmm?” you pretend you have no idea what he’s talking about. He leans into your side, his breath tickling your ear as he breathes in the scent of your hair. The hands on your hips pull you towards him, his hips pressing against yours, the pressure causing him to twitch in his pants.
“Come on,” he whispers as he tries to control his breathing. He felt unsteady, his breath uneven as he held himself back. “Don’t make me beg.”
He’s embarrassed. “Guess you don’t like me enough to beg,” you shrug, letting him go and crossing the room to sit on your bed.
Levi stays at your door for a moment, debating whether or not he wants to give into your desires. When his hand comes up to lock your bedroom door knob, you smirk. He makes his way over to where you’re sitting, politely kneeling down in front of you. He looks up at you through his strands of hair, his usual sharp eyes looking round and soft like a puppy.
“Please,” he says again. “Tell me what to do.” his hands come up to grab your shins, his fingers sneaking underneath your dress and caressing your skin gently. His slender hands make their way up to your knees and he tentatively lifts your nightgown to leave a loving kiss on your knee.
He looks back up to see you staring down at him, a playful smirk painted on your face. You can’t help but smile at the fact that Levi was on his knees in front of you, so willing and eager to do whatever you wanted. He looked so submissive—his back slightly arched, shaky hands holding onto you, and voice whiny. You felt a throb in your core, taking a deep breath in an attempt to control yourself so you wouldn’t pounce on him right then and there.
“Come up here,” you whisper softly and he follows you immediately and crawls up the bed, his legs straddling your lap as he nervously sits on top of you.
Your hands come up to squeeze his thighs, his muscles tensing as soon as you do. He wraps his hands around your neck, pulling you closer to him as your eyes move to his neck. You imagine he would look good with hickies. So you lean in, leaving a small kiss on his neck. After a few small kisses, you can’t help but nibble on his skin, biting the sensitive area and sucking on his soft skin. He reacts quickly, pulling you closer to himself and pushing your head into his neck. It is faint and quiet, but a small moan escapes his lips and his hand comes up to immediately cover his mouth.
You wanted to hear more. As your tongue traces his skin and as you start leaving marks on his neck, his head tilts back in pleasure, whimpers beginning to leave his pretty lips. He bites down on his bottom lip, gulping as he tries his hardest to stay quiet. But the more he whimpers, the harder you suck on his skin, and he can’t help but start rocking his hips involuntarily.
“Hnghh,” he whines, his hips rocking against your thighs, desperate for some friction. Your hands move from his thighs up to his ass, grabbing it and squeezing shamelessly as his hips rock faster.
You pull away from him, cupping his ass one more as he whimpers in pleasure. Levi looks down at you, eyes dropping down to your lips as he leans in and licks at your mouth. This time the kiss is sloppy, rushed, and impatient. The more time that passes between the both of you, the more desperate you become. You bite down on his bottom lip, aggressively pulling him into you as you kiss him harder.
“Haaa,” he pulls away breathlessly, his rocking hips slowing down. “I’ve run out of patience.”
“I noticed.”
“I want it so badly. I want you so badly. P-please,” he huffs.
“Have a little more patience, Levi.” you stroke his cheek tenderly. “We’ve got the whole night.”
He blushes, his hands coming up to reach for the first button on his shirt. “It’s a little hot in here,” his hands tremble, failing to undo his button.
You smirk, watching him nervously try to undress. “Trying to give me a show?”
“Stop-stop teasing me,” he pouts, grabbing your hand and bringing it to his chest. “Undress me.” he demands.
“Whatever you say, captain.” your skillful fingers work at his shirt buttons, easily undoing them and pulling his shirt off for him. He’s slender but muscular, and when your eyes admire his figure, you spot his hardened erection through his pants. He doesn’t bother to cover it up out of embarrassment, instead, choosing to grab your hand and guide it to where he really wants it.
You start gently rubbing him through the cloth, his hips slowly, rocking against the friction of your hands. You were surprised he seemed so open about what he wanted—you had thought he was going to be shyer. You stroked his hard dick through the thin material of his pants, his head leaning into the crook of your neck. He breathes in and out slowly, trying to keep his composure but it slowly begins to fade the more aroused he grows because of you.
He whimpers, his hips slowing down to a stop. “I’m ready for more,” he whispers against your ear and climbs off of you, grabbing you on top of him as he lies on the mattress.
“Hmm,” you begin, your fingers slowly undoing his pants. “How many people have you been with, Levi?” you asked innocently, your hands tugging at his pants. He lifts his hips up, allowing you to slip off his pants and underwear. His hardened cock lies against his flat stomach, glistening with his pre-cum.
“Not many,” he answers. “I don’t have a lot of experience.” he continues shyly and looks away in embarrassment.
“Cute,” you grab him, your hand stroking him from his shaft to his tip. You lean over him, sticking out your tongue and letting saliva drip onto his tip, making sure to maintain eye contact with him. His eyes widen, surprised at what you’re doing but pleasured. Your saliva coats him, allowing you to more easily stroke him, your thumb circling over his tip. His hips automatically thrust upwards into your hand, his own hands gripping the bed sheets. You feel him twitch in your hands, smirking to yourself as you bring your mouth down to him once more.
Levi’s mind is hazy and his judgment is clouded. It’s like he’s under a spell from you, he desires so much from you and is so willing to do absolutely anything for you to fulfill those desires. His head tilts downwards to watch you, your eyes hungry and determined. He can’t help but whimper even though you haven’t gone down on him completely, he is just desperate for anything at this point. He watches you smack his cock on the tip of your tongue playfully, your hand expertly stroking his shaft. He moans, making sure to cover his mouth so that nobody else hears but you.
His eyes are still trained on yours though, watery as tears begin to fill his eyes. He feels your mouth take in all of his length, sucking him in as your hands massage his thighs. He feels you forcefully spread his legs wider, and his cheeks heat up. If it weren’t for the low lighting in the room, he would collapse from embarrassment. It was something about him splayed out on your bed, legs spread open by your hands that had him feeling a little too exposed and humiliated. Strangely, he liked it. He enjoyed being underneath you, allowing you to do whatever you desired with his body.
There was something about Levi in tears, whining and whimpering for more underneath you that had you shaking in excitement. His whimpers were like music to your ears and all you wanted in the moment was to hear more of it. He wasn’t afraid to hold back how good he was feeling and it made you want to please him even more. You took him in your mouth once more, your tongue swirling over his sensitive tip. His hips can’t help but thrust again, and you hold him down, pushing down on his thighs with your hands. You come back up, your mouth leaving a string of saliva as you pull away from him. He already looks out of breath, his forehead slightly glistening with sweat as he struggles to catch his breath.
“You look like you need some relief,” you tease, crawling up to straddle him. You begin lifting your dress to take it off, and his eyes immediately drift to your breasts. He watches you undress in silence, choosing to quietly admire you from a distance.
He chuckles quietly, his hands grabbing at your thighs. He rubs up and down at your skin, his eyes focused on yours. “You look like you want to sit on my face,” he replies.
“I think you’re the one who wants me to,” you smirk, moving to hover over his face. You catch a glimpse of excitement and arousal in his eyes.
“I do,” he confesses. “I want to taste you so bad,” he continues, biting down on his bottom lip. “Please—please let me.”
“Well, since you seem so desperate.” you smile, grabbing the headboard in front of you as he grabs you, forcefully sitting you on top of his face.
His tongue immediately comes up to lick you, and he moans. His hands snake back to grab your ass, pushing you further onto his mouth as he struggles to find your clit. You chuckle, angling your hips and thrusting in his face so that your clit gets the stimulation you need. You begin to ride his face, your hips aggressively thrusting as he moans into you. You wonder if he’s struggling to breathe, so you pull away a bit, but he pulls you back into him, his hands squeezing your ass cheeks as he laps at your pussy, whimpering in pleasure. You pull away, his face shining with your wetness and cheeks rosy.
“Not bad,” you tell him, grabbing his chin with your hands. “Now it’s time to open up, captain.” your fingers ghost over his lips and he automatically opens them, taking in your two fingers. His tongue is warm and wet and swirls around your fingers as his eyes close in pleasure. He moans against your fingers as you shove them deeper into his mouth, making sure to coat them in his saliva. When you pull them out, you bring your fingers to your wetness, rubbing at your entrance.
“Fuck,” he whispers, his hand coming up to stroke his dick as he watches you tease yourself. He moans again, watching as you rub your clit, your fingers teasing yourself once more as you insert a finger into yourself. You moan, thrusting into your own fingers and Levi strokes himself faster, captivated by you.
“Please,” he starts, tapping your thigh with his hand politely. Cute. “Fuck me, please. I need you so bad. Please, please fuck me.” he desperately asks, his eyes tearing up once again.
“Oh? How badly do you want it?” you hover over him, rubbing your clit on his dick, your hips slowly grinding against him.
“Ahh,” he moans and grabs your hips and presses you onto his cock. “Please… please ride me. I want you to fuck me so badly, please.” a tear slides down his cheek, more tears swelling in his beautiful eyes.
You feel yourself throb as you hover over him, patience thin. You push yourself into him, taking in his cock and throwing your head back in pleasure. You tighten around him and feel him throb inside of you. You bite down on your lip to contain your moans, making sure to keep quiet. Levi, however, was the total opposite. He was so aroused and so desperate and so turned out it was like he had completely forgotten that the walls were thin and it was late at night and people were trying to sleep. He was moaning loudly, tears escaping his eyes as he cried out to you in pleasure. He was thrusting upwards into you, frantic for some friction. His hands were gripping his bedsheets once again as he fucked himself into you, whimpers escaping his pretty lips.
“Fuck,” you mumbled as you bounced on top of him, taking in his dick. “People are going to hear you if you don’t quiet down.” you warned, leaning down to get closer to his face.
“Hnngh, I’m sorry,” he whispers, tilting his chin up for a kiss. You give in, sloppily kissing him as he opens his mouth to let you in, moaning into your mouth as his hips begin thrusting faster. You pull away from him, breathless as your hand sneaks down to rub your clit. He pulls you into him, holding you close as his hand strokes your hair lovingly. You feel him breathe against your ear, whimpering in pleasure as you continue to ride him. You feel yourself growing closer, so you begin to ride him faster as his moans grow louder in volume.
“H-Harder,” he breathes. “Please fuck me harder.” he pleads and you oblige, your hips speeding up along with his thrusts. He’s more vocal now, whining your name and moaning as if there isn’t somebody sleeping right next door.
“Haaa,” he sighs, face flushed and hips struggling to keep up. He throws his head back against the pillows, panting in pleasure and hands coming up to grab your thighs, fucking himself harder into you. You feel the familiar knot in your stomach, your pussy squeezing down on him as you rub yourself, hips stuttering as a wave of pleasure takes over and you cum, toes curling and holding onto his hands that grab at yours. When he feels you cum on him, he whimpers and bucks into you, unable to hold himself back any longer. You pull yourself off of him and he moans, his cum spurting out and landing on his stomach. His face is flushed and he’s out of breath; he looked beautiful.
His eyes bore into yours, and it is silent in the room except for the sound of both of you catching your breath. As you come down from your high, you climb off of him, your legs trembling. Levi immediately sits up, grabbing your shoulder gently to sit you back down.
“I’ll help clean up,” he assures you, leaving a kiss on your cheek.
After the two of you clean up in silence, he wonders if you are going to let him stay there, or kick him out. Now that the two of you have given in to your desires to have sex, what now? Should he confess his feelings to you now that he’s realized them, or wait for you to say something? What if you just thought tonight was nothing more than a no strings attached sex? His heart sank at the idea. He didn’t want that at all. He wanted to be with you. He wanted to be yours. Watching you finish changing your bed sheets, he awkwardly crosses the room to stand next to you.
“Um,” he starts, and you stop what you’re doing to look at him. “Do you need help? With—with your sheets..?”
“No, as you can see, I’m done.” you gesture to your made bed.
“O-Oh,” he pauses, nervous and unsure of what to say.
You look at him, watching him rub the back of his neck out of anxiety and awkwardness. “Levi,” you start.
“Captain,” he automatically responds.
“Do you like me?”
His eyes widen and he appears to be taken back. “Uh, I—Yes. I… I thought it was obvious.”
“You never actually said it. I was the only one to confess.” you point out.
“Oh.” here it was. Here was the moment he had to pour out his feelings and confess his love for you. The only thing was, he was so horrible with words.
“Um,” he starts. How many times has he said that already? Jeez, he felt so stupid and nervous and embarrassed. “At first—I thought I hated you. I thought you were a horrible captain and bad at your job and annoying and a terrible dancer and I also thought you talked way too much and sometimes it would give me a headache and you’re also really cocky, but—” he stopped himself. Why was he insulting you? He was supposed to confess his feelings and all he did was start insulting you? What the hell was wrong with him?
“S-Sorry. I’m sorry. What I’m trying to say is—I… I like you. A lot. And… and, if you—I would like to be yours. All yours.” he pouted, disappointed in his confession of love.
You smile, pulling him into a sweet kiss. “Well, you could’ve just said so, captain.”
•••
“Did you hear?” you overheard Armin whisper quite loudly to his friends as you sit a couple tables away from them in the dining hall with Levi. He was drinking tea as you munched on a sandwich.
“He confessed his feelings to her! Captain Levi?! Can you believe that? I always thought he hated her!” he said excitedly, hitting Eren’s arm.
“Please, she’s out of his league.” Jean pointed out sourly, a hint of jealousy in his voice.
You thought you were the only one listening in on them, but when you look over to Levi, he’s smirking in victory after hearing what Jean said.
“How do you know that?” Mikasa asks Armin.
“Hange said she saw Levi walking into her room a couple nights ago around midnight,” he begins. “And she said they were loud! Especially captain Levi!”
You eye Levi, and as soon as he hears what Armin says, he spits out his tea, coughing as his eyes widen in embarrassment. You laugh, rubbing his back to soothe him.
“I warned you that someone would hear.” you tease.
“That shithead Hange—” he coughs again, his face turning red. “Shut up, you brat.”

hi
wanted to ask for some tips
i want to write a fic abput lrvi taking place during and after no regrets and i wonder if you have any advuce for charactersing levi
I can try, haha.
The thing to always remember about Levi is that, while he doesn't express his emotions outwardly very well, he's still a deeply emotional character. I think, in fact, that Levi is the most emotional character in AoT. I think he feels things more deeply than anyone, at a more profound level. So that's always something to keep in mind when characterizing him. Don't let his stoicism fool you, in other words. The key with writing him I think is to find that very subtle, but hugely important balance, in his lack of outward expression with what he's actually feeling inside. People mistake Levi's lack of outward emotion with a lack of feeling, and it's a completely false perception. You'll often see people describe Levi as "cold", but that's the wrong word. Cold, again, implies a lack of feeling, a lack of emotion and passion. That's not Levi. He's the opposite of cold. Passion means suffering, and Levi is deeply passionate. He's passionate about people's lives, about their well being, about their dreams. He gives everything to protect those things. He suffers to protect those things and to uphold their worth. Again, people mistake Levi's flat expressions as being indicative of him feeling nothing, and that's just not true, at all. His lack of outward expression is a result of him experiencing deep trauma. It's developed as a coping mechanism for the deep well of pain he feels at the suffering and loss of people he cares for, and for people in general.
I would suggest writing from Levi's perspective if you can as a way to handle that, so that we see things from Levi's perspective. So even as characters outside of Levi view his lack of outward expression one way, you counter that by showing the reader what Levi is actually thinking and feeling. Isayama had the advantage of working in a visual medium. He was able to show us Levi's micro-expressions as a way of showing us how much he was actually affected by what was going on around him. In prose writing, you're going to need to rely more on Levi's inner thoughts to convey those things.
It's also important to understand that with Levi, actions speak louder than words. Levi's not good at expressing himself. He's awkward and often unsophisticated in the way he uses language, and as a result, he often has difficulty articulating what he actually means and it comes out sounding mean or unkind when he doesn't intend for it to. But we know what his actual feelings are based on the actions he takes. Think of the moment in the RtS arc, when Levi says he "hates" weak people, and then promptly works himself to total exhaustion protecting those same people from all the titans he can. Levi doesn't mean here that he actually hates the new recruits. What he means is that he hates the situation, he hates that these people that are wholly unprepared and untrained to deal with titans, are being thrown into a nightmare scenario in which they're being forced to engage with a seemingly endless horde of them. He calls the situation "pathetic". What he really means is that it's horrible. The situation is absurd and unbelievable in its badness. Again, if Levi literally meant he hated the new recruits for being weak, he would have felt contempt toward them for that weakness and left them to fend for themselves. He wouldn't have driven himself to exhaustion trying to protect them, and he wouldn't have acted with so much urgency to try and get them behind the wall when Zeke started hurling boulders at them. He didn't hate the new recruits, he cared deeply for them, and couldn't believe the irony of them being placed into such an untenable situation on their very first mission as scouts.
So it's that kind of balance you have to try and find when writing Levi. He'll say something that on its surface seems mean or unkind or rude, but his actions reveal that he actually feels and thinks the opposite.
So yeah, again, try to do that, and also try and show Levi's inner emotions by writing from his perspective. Let us know what Levi is thinking and feeling, even as he's unable to properly put it into words or convey expected facial expressions.

“ You know you want me,” he says softly, his hands moving up my back, close enough to feel the warmth of his breath as it hitches. “and it’s killing you.”

TLDR: l.evi and e.rwin are treated to a rare hearty meal. l.evi overindulges, and e.rwin is left to attend to him.
The evening sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the bustling town of Trost. Within the walls, the Survey Corps' headquarters stood as a beacon of strength and resilience. Tonight, however, it was not the threat of Titans that occupied the minds of Captain Levi Ackerman and Commander Erwin Smith. Instead, it was the promise of a delicious dinner that drew them together – just sharing a meal together in Erwin’s quarters.
The mess hall was abuzz with the clatter of cutlery and the hum of conversation as soldiers gathered for their evening meal. Levi and Erwin found a quiet corner (even though they wouldn’t stay long), away from the commotion. Erwin, with his trademark scruffy blond hair and a warm smile, observed Levi as he perused the menu with a scrutinizing eye. Tonight was a special occasion – the Corps had managed to secure a shipment of fresh ingredients, and the cooks had prepared a feast to lift the spirits of the weary soldiers.
Levi sighed, realizing that the menu was far more extensive than usual. "They're really going all out tonight," he muttered, glancing over the various options.
Erwin chuckled. "Well, after all the hard work everyone's been putting in, I think we deserve a treat. What do you feel like having?"
Levi's eyes narrowed as he scanned the choices, finally settling on a hearty meat stew. "This," he declared, pointing at the menu with conviction.
Erwin raised an eyebrow. "Stew? Are you sure you want something so… filling?"
Levi scowled at his lover. "What's that supposed to mean, Commander? I can eat whatever I want."
Erwin laughed as he held his calloused hands up, his deep voice resonating in the small space. "Alright, alright. Stew it is."
The stew, however, was just the beginning. Once they were able to order, the pair asked to sample various dishes from the feast – roasted meats, potatoes, bread, savory pies, and an array of desserts that tempted even Levi's complicated palate. And when that food arrived, they snuck out to Erwin’s quarters to enjoy their rare time alone. The pair settled in, the aroma of the freshly cooked food wafted through the air. The stew was steaming hot and filled with succulent chunks of meat and vegetables. Pies freshly baked, warm to the touch. Desserts creamy, filling. The sparkling wine burbled within its bottle. Levi's eyes widened at the sight.
"This looks… incredible," he admitted, a rare hint of excitement in his usually stoic demeanor.
Erwin grinned. "I told you. Now, dig in!"
The aroma of the food was tempting, and Levi’s stomach betrayed him with a low growl. So, he wasted no time, attacking his stew with gusto. Bite after bite, he savored the flavors, the warmth of the food filling him with a sense of contentment. Erwin watched with amusement, marveling at how the usually reserved captain seemed to be thoroughly enjoying himself. However, as the meal progressed, Levi found himself indulging more than he intended. The savory flavors and the sparkling wine were too tempting to resist. Erwin observed with amusement as Levi's usually stern expression softened with each bite.
"You're enjoying this, aren't you?" Levi suddenly muttered between bites, blue eyes flickering upward to glare at Erwin. Erwin didn’t reply, but instead smiled sheepishly at his boyfriend.
Sooner or later, with their plates empty and their bellies pleasantly full, Levi leaned back with a satisfied sigh followed by a grunt. Erwin couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of his usually composed boyfriend looking slightly dazed from the wine and culinary onslaught. Levi's usually flat stomach had expanded into a not-so-subtle, noticeable roundness. Buttons from his uniform straining against the overtaxed organ. Crumbs serve as a testament to the delicious meal they had tonight. Erwin couldn't resist a smirk. "Looks like someone overindulged."
Levi shot him a glare, but it lacked its usual intensity. "Shut up, Smith. It's not like you didn't eat like a pig yourself… *Hic!*”
“Hmph,” the blonde grinned. "Come on, Levi. Sit down on the couch for a moment. I'll take care of that stuffed belly of yours."
Levi eyed him suspiciously, as the comment caught him off-guard, but he complied. Erwin chuckled before the two of them stood, and he guided Levi to the couch. As Levi stretched out on the sofa with a groan, Erwin approached, a mischievous glint in his eye. Levi returned Erwin’s look with a look of his own, nearly shooting daggers into the blonde. Before Erwin could even sit down, Levi let out an unexpectedly loud burp, surprising even himself. "Ugh, this is your fault - *Hlp!*" he accused through gritted teeth as he scowled, cheeks flushed.
Erwin smirked, sitting down next to Levi. "Well, if you're going to blame me, I might as well take care of you." Without warning, after unbuttoning the buttons of Levi’s uniform in order to free the groaning organ, he gently rubbed Levi's overfilled stomach in slow, soothing circles.
"What the hell are you doing?" Levi grumbled as his hand still feathered his now-protruding belly. The thick air against it was cold, but the warmth of Erwin's touch was… surprisingly comforting.
"Just helping you. Is that too much to ask?" Erwin teased with a wink, rubbing Levi’s bloated stomach a bit more vigorously.
Levi winced, feeling another burp rising. "Ugh, this is ridiculous," he muttered, his hand now over his mouth.
Erwin laughed, continuing the belly rub. His eyes flickered downward to study Levi’s tummy: round, bloated with gentle stretch marks and redness around the center. Each small movement the shorter male made was enough to make his belly wobble, earning a groan of unhappiness.  "Seems like the surplus amount of food alcohol isn't agreeing with you, hm?"
Levi shot Erwin a glare but couldn't hold back the next burp. It escaped loudly, surprising both of them. "Damn it, Smith!"
Erwin's smirk widened, finding amusement in Levi's uncharacteristic vulnerability. "You know, you're kind of cute like this."
Levi continued to wince, feeling another bubble of discomfort in his stomach. Though his cheeks felt significantly hotter, becoming more flushed. "Ugh, damn it," he muttered, his hand pressed against his bloated belly. He could feel the contents shift underneath, sending a groan up his throat. Erwin continued his belly rub, applying a bit more pressure once again. "Maybe next time, you'll think twice before ordering so much food.”
All Levi could do was let out another burp, this one a bit softer than the previous ones. "I hate you," he grumbled, though the corners of his mouth twitched.
Erwin chuckled, undeterred. "I love you too, Levi." He paused, feeling Levi's tension gradually ease. "Is that a little better?"
Levi sighed, nodding slightly. "Yeah, whatever. *Bwwurrp!* J-Just don't expect this to happen again - *Hic!*"
Erwin grinned, leaning in for a quick kiss. "I won't. Now, let's get you to bed.”

Header is my art that you can see more of here!
A sheen of his own pathetic saliva catches the glow of the room’s light, clinging to his chin with glazed eyes barely open in shock.
Your fingers still sopping wet from the gag you forced into his smart mouth, throat desperately constricting, lashes laden thick with his tears that are now yours as you delicately lick them away, sliding one by one down his flushed cheek.
Somehow he still won’t shut up.
But could you really say you want him to? Every word dripping off his tongue carried by his dark voice has you writhing for more. More friction. More of his touch. You’ll take it all. And you do, because you’re his…
“Sweet girl,” he raggedly breathes out into your neck, stuttering breaths against your skin betraying his own power struggle for control again. He’s actually trying to compose himself. He’ll pay for trying.
His jaw unbearably shakes with anticipation once you temporarily withdraw your urges to overpower him. Adrenaline seeps into his brain. Maybe he can win. Just this once. You’ll let him think he can. It’s half the fun after all. You can be sweet…right?
His burning skin is still pressed behind you, spooning you on the bed, arm snaked underneath your knee, folding it to your chest on your side. The forced vulnerability of your pose makes your mind reel, plunging you into the security of your own yield.
“For you, I’ll try.” Feigned meekness isn’t your strong suit, but it’s music to Levi.
“You don’t have to. Not like this,” he gathers up what you’ve offered you both so far, gently smearing your slick over your lips, painting you.
He has an obsession with the high of your body. The smell, the taste. He offers it to you and your lips part. His eyes never leaving yours with pupils blown wide like dark pools.
As soon as you begin to sink into submission, getting lost in his control, your eyes snap open and you call his game off. You quickly reach up and snatch his lower jaw through his lips, curling your fingers around his bottom row of teeth, holding him hostage and his eyes plead for mercy.
You sit forward pulling his entire body up by your bit. He shamelessly whimpers in your clutch, scrambling into a kneel before you, sitting on his feet with back arched in a sharp bow as you tower over him now.
“That’s right, Levi. You’ll get this pussy, if you make due on that promise. Now what’s my baby going to do.” His cock throbs untouched and he’s just as wet as you now. Your snicker fanning over the drying tears on his face. You miss them already.
He strains his voice incoherently on your fingers, you look on menacingly not even trying to hear his words, and he bites down in frustration.
Your other hand flys up, grabbing his hair and yanking him roughly back and he falls off his heels, ass flush on the bed in between his folded legs on either side of him with ankles splayed outward. The movement exposes his gorgeous neck in the dim light, lips gaping, lungs gasping for air like he just breached the surface in time. If his first breath is laced with the smell of your pussy, he’d die a happy man. He swallows deeply, throat bobbing in regret as he keeps his gaze locked on you from his side eye. It’s your game now.
“How dare you snap at me, Levi.” You unhand his mouth with a sneer, letting it fall open.
“J-just hit m-”
The smack echoes throughout the room and his head flies to the side in your follow through. He pants, chest heaving as you meet his desperate demand. The red mark already burning to the surface of his skin as he looks up at you through the side of his eyes again.
“Why didn’t you just ask nicely, baby? Now stop wasting my time and get on your hands and knees.”
He kneels further down, looking up at you with doe eyes and wet lashes framing the tender, innocent look on his face.
“You did this. Now, what are you going to do, Levi?”
He blinks away more tears in awe of you. The sting blooming on his skin, a reminder.
“God…you’re…s’beautiful,” he slurs between pants eyes locked on you, staring up through his lashes.
“I didn’t ask that, baby.” You gently tap the crimson mark on his cheek, causing him to wince and bite back a moan. “Now, tell me. I know you can.”
He blinks away the innocence in his eyes, steeling his expression as cold as the irises glaring up at you.
“Gonna fuck you ‘til you come down my throat. That’s a promise.”
As you throw your head back to taunt him your eyes roll back under covered lids.
“God, you’re disgusting.”
And with that? He’s had enough, lunging at you like an animal from his prone position, catching you off guard as you’re distracted with insulting him. He throws you back on the bed, quickly grasping your ankles, pulling you down flat towards him. Now, he hangs over you, straddling your thighs.
“Wait until I make you the same fucking way,” he growls, grinding into you, hips rolling, and he feels you through your panties, smearing your slick with the precum on his dick, marking you. “Or are you already? Sweet girl…selfish slut.” He laughs darkly into the air thick above you.
He encases your throat in his soft hand, squeezing gently and stifling your moan as he moves down your body, past your navel, biting you and dragging his snarled mouth toward your lips, taking one in his teeth and pulling, watching it bounce into place, slapping into your wet inner thigh.
You groan at the pain and his breath fans over your pussy, shaking before him.
“You’ve never broken one,” your voice trembles.
“What, my love?”
“A promise.”
“I don’t plan to, sweetheart. Not with you.”
He dives into you. Pulling your swollen clit into his mouth, sucking gently and still managing to lick in small, concentrated circles around you inside his mouth. He cries out at the taste and the heat and pressure of his breath nearly throw you over the edge.
A decade together and he knows exactly how to play you. You talk a big game, but he’ll have you screaming soon.
He releases you in an instant as you buck your hips into his mouth and he-
Slap. You violently jerk against his hand as an inhuman noise escapes you deep within your chest.
Slap. Your pussy practically cries out in return, running down your ass and soaking the bed before him.
Before he can lightly hit your cunt again you grab his wrist in warning.
“Levi, I…I-I can’t.” Now, you’re heaving.
“Folding so fast, hm? I thought you were better than that.” He laughs into your dripping slit and you clench in front of him while he nuzzles into your thigh, hiding his smirk and his moan of utter disbelief.
“You’re the nasty one. Look at you, I wish you could see yourself fucking clenching like that, God. You said you’d try to be sweet for me, right?”
You sheepishly nod as you release his wrist and he hovers over your lips again.
“Then behave.”
Your thighs nearly clamp down over his ears in reaction to his command and he throws them off, pinning them flat into the bed.
He growls your name in the back of his throat, seething. His eyes rake over your writhing body in disappointment. You’ll learn to listen or maybe you’ll just regret disobeying him this time. His patience has worn thin. Just like the line of your arousal that breaks as he toys with your slick against the light, mesmerized.
He licks his fingers and slips below, circling the rim of your ass. He pushes in unceremoniously. Your whines speak for him.
A beat passes and he waits for you to adjust-
“Well?”
You can’t be serious with that fucking attitude of yours…He’s tempted to break you with your back talk as he looks on incredulously, moving forward, resting his cock on your clit. The only friction you’ll get is the faint jumping of his dick with each pretty noise you make as he stretches you open.
“Well, what? Did you have something else to tell me? Or were you just gonna sit in your own mess tonight…you filthy thing.”
And with his words, more begins to trickle between your legs and onto his plush hairs below.
That does it, and whatever he had planned is abandoned…All that matters now is feeling you convulse on his tongue.
He pushes the backs of your thighs up, hooking them over his shoulders with his chin resting on the damp sheets. He’s half tempted to nuzzle the side of his face in them, covering himself in you. Instead he licks the fabric beneath you, then moves upward, over your ass, and deep into your slit. He pushes his face so far into you his tongue is nearly inches away from that spot that’ll have you incoherent in his arms.
His sharp nose nearly suffocated in your pussy and you have the audacity to grind against it, riding him shamelessly while he drowns in the sounds your skin makes against him.
He comes up for air, rolling his eyes softly open with heavy lids, and he peers past your lips, the dips of your hip bones, your hardened nipples, and into your eyes.
He couldn’t care less about how rough you are with him when you look at him like that. Pure adoration. He can smell the love you have for him seeping through your very skin. He can’t help but be soft when your eyes meet. So much so it’s hard to keep up the act. You always reveal your truth there even when you want to live out your filthy fantasies fucking yourself on his tongue. He’ll give you what you want. Whatever you want. As long as he can have you like this.
“Keep looking at me like that.”
You break eye contact, looking away.
“Don’t get all shy on me now, love. I wanna see you. Do it for me.”
Your eyes roam back into place locking the steeled gaze.
“There’s my baby. I don’t want you to miss a damn thing.”
Two fingers slip into your entrance without resistance and one deep into your ass. His other hand reaches up to your nipple pinching hard.
Overwhelmed at every sensitive spot on your body, you begin to shake uncontrollably against his thrusts, swelling against his fingers reaching so deep inside you.
“Levi.”
He doesn’t relent, ignoring you. You deserve this after all the shit you put him through tonight.
“Levi, please,” you beg and he begins to pull your clit into his mouth again while he thrusts into both entrances.
You grab onto his hair in protest, but it’s too much, too fast.
“Stop, Lev-!” You scream aloud.
He immediately pulls away in complete surprise, and the sight below him that catches his eye? The eroticism of it all has him seeing stars.
The first wave slides all the way down his forearm and his eyes widen in absolute shock.
“Fuuuck…fuck yes. Baby please, keep going,” he begs you as if you’re fucking him.
You look down in exasperation and see him with his eyes rimmed red with dried tears, the mark a deep red on his face, mouth open, tongue out, waiting for you.
As you lock eyes together again, another wave pummels through you landing in a stream on his tongue, down his throat, just the way he fucking wanted. Pretty.
He nearly bites his own tongue to catch all that you give while you thrash against the sheets, crying out for the love of your life.
No one keeps a promise like he can.

A letter from her...
Tumblr media
Levi jolted awake to the shrill whistle of the tea kettle. Bleary-eyed, he silenced it and prepared his morning cuppa, thoughts still clinging to fragments of the dream he'd been having.
Mikasa had visited him, her cheeks flushed and eyes shining as she declared her longing for him had become too overwhelming to bear. She spoke of leaving behind her quiet life in Paradis to join him in London, if only he'd have her.
Levi rubbed his eyes with a sigh. Just a dream - yet so vivid he could almost smell Mikasa's signature floral scent in the air.
A knock at the tea shop door startled him from his reverie. Levi opened it to find a postman holding a single envelope addressed in tidy, familiar handwriting - Mikasa's.
His heart stuttered as he accepted the mail with slightly trembling hands. Mikasa writing to him after all these years? It was too coincidental after the intense dream.
Levi brewed a fresh pot of soothing chamomile tea to calm his nerves before sitting down to read. As he inhaled the letter's delicate perfume, the fictional reunion scene flashed through his mind again.
Get ahold of yourself, Levi, he chided inwardly, ignoring his warming cheeks. This was surely just an innocuous friendly letter, nothing more.
Yet as Levi read Mikasa's poetic words describing her loneliness and longing for adventure, he couldn't help but detect a hint of something deeper. Subtle phrases hinted she might welcome a change in scenery…to London, perhaps?
Levi's pulse raced as he reread the letter, searching for hidden meanings. Was it possible Mikasa felt drawn to him, even after all this time apart? Could this be the opening he'd long waited for?
Setting down his tea, Levi collected pen and paper. He would respond sincerely, inviting Mikasa to visit London soon. Whether as a friend or something more remained unsaid, but Levi knew he must see her again.
This time, he resolved not to let her go until he understood the true contents of her heart. Levi pressed Mikasa's letter gently to his lips before beginning his reply.

Chapter 1 of Eruri Lighthouse keepers fic is up! :)
Part: 1/?
Words: 3.7k
Rating: M
Tags: Lighthouse Keepers AU, post ww2, slow burn, pining, hurt/comfort, getting together
Summary:
Sometimes, as the winds of Narragansett Bay whip at his cold-flushed face and aching hands, Levi wonders how life has led him here. Here: atop four winding flights of stairs, seventy-three feet in the air, polishing a fifty year old light bulb several times larger than his head.
His predecessor had complained about the loneliness while showing him around the place. Told him it makes you go mad. Levi doesn’t mind it though. In fact, he finds the isolation oddly comforting. In the middle of the ocean there are no generals or foremen screaming at him to get back to work. There are no sly insults on his stature, or reprimands regarding his attitude. Atop Whale Rock there is only steel, stone, and the occasional seabird cawing overheard.

So I have a bunch of drafts for Eruri fics. This is one of them. It's set in canon and Levi has been de-aged, still has his memories as an adult, and is enrolled in school. I wanted to share a draft cuz why not. Also, pardon my English, it's not my first language.

Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part7 Part 8 Part9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12 The end
Tumblr media
The soft glow of the autumn sun fought with the thick blackout curtains hung up against the white walls. Inside the quiet room was a clean wooden floor with a polished shine. A desk stood in the corner with books, papers and a laptop neatly placed. The room was filled with a gentle and soothing smell of citrus fruits. A large bed sat in the middle, the sheets a crisp white with one sleeping body within its hold.
Raven locks lightly rested against soft light skin. Long thick lashes fluttered. Steel blue eyes gazed at the room before dragging to the clock to see the time. Six. Broad shoulders flexed as a muscular body rose. A snap of a neck echoed in the chiselled body and released tension. Plump lips parted as a gently sigh escaped them. A thick member lay partly stiffened under the clean sheets.
Slender fingers raked back the soft raven hair. Long thick legs swung out from under the sheets allowing a naked man dripping in dark beauty to stand. Fingers locked above his head as his body stretched to a chorus of bones clicking. He moaned in satisfaction and finally felt awake for the day ahead. His plump behind squished as he walked.
Levi scrolled over to his bathroom and eyed himself in the mirror. He ran his hand over his smooth jawline and felt no stubble. He hummed to himself before starting his routine for the day. After finishing in the bathroom, he moved to the bedroom once again. He dragged on his underwear before slowly pulling on a smart black shirt. He pulled on his black tight trousers and tucked his shirt in. He fixed his belt in place and grabbed his special pendant.
He held the pin in his hand that would be pinned to his dog collar. A golden blade pierced a plump red heart. Above the heart a round red gem with four gold pieces coming from them. Each part meant something in the religion. The heart meant a strong heart filled with love. The blade was the courage and strength to keep going. The four pieces were the four pillars of religious teaching, honesty, compassion, charity and wisdom.
He slipped his white collar in before putting the pin in its place. He let out a long sigh and felt hunger stir within him. He needed to feed and he needed a lot. His smart shoes tapped on the pavement as he journeyed through the quiet town full of sinners. He shivered at the heaviness in the air around him. He rolled his shoulders as pleasure filled him. Today he was going to have a great meal thanks to all the locals being sinners.
He softly smiled at the continuous good morning fathers. He noticed the longing looks aimed at him. Many women and men were tempted by him, but all held back. As part of Levi’s position, he had to follow a celibacy rule. However, being a demon like himself he was happy to make love to someone he cared for. He used his celibacy as a tool to keep the people back in this town and not engage in casual sex. Tempting these people was far better of a meal to him than if he were to give in.
As soon as he entered the front garden to the temple, he saw people waiting for it to be open and met the voices of eager people to get in and be with him. He unlocked the door as ladies pawed at him and tried to talk to him, but he managed to fend them off with gentle words. He pushed the doors wide before moving to the next double doors. He opened them wide to reveal tall pillars reaching high to a decorated and painted ceiling. Flowers and plants grew full of life with a tree growing strong at the top of the temple behind the altar.
The temple soon filled up and became lively with people. He slipped into the confessional and turned the light on. He sat back and listened to people’s sinful ways and fed from their negative energy. He fuelled it by giving them vague advice back.
Mrs Harper clung to the lattice as she gazed at Levi. “Father, I long for Robert, but I’m a married woman. What do I do?”
He hummed as he pretended to contemplate the situation. “Our religion teachers us to be open to everything around us, does it not?”
“Yes.” She whined as she reflected. “You are right.”
He turned his head to her and leaned closer making her shiver. He reached up and tapped the heart in his pin. “What is at the centre of our teachings?”
She stared at the heart. “Love.”
“I do not know what your heart says, only you do. Listen to it, tune in to it. Your heart will show you the way.”
He smiled as she thanked him and left. He shivered knowing very well she’ll have an affair, which meant more food for him. He slipped out of the booth for a break, but something pulled him. He felt a bubbling of pleasure inside his chest. He followed the feeling and found a beautiful woman in tight trousers and a sweet jumper. His eyes locked onto a wonderful plump behind. He dragged his tongue over his lips in delight.
Levi moved closer and eyed the energy flowing off the woman and was delighted. He loved the artistic energy, the buzzing of small sins but there was no shame. He was intrigued by the delicacy before him. He inhaled deeply as his eyes rolled back a little. Sweet scents wrapped around him in a loving embrace. He wanted to spend eternity with this energy and scent.
You turned your head and smiled at Levi. “Hello, father.”
Levi blushed at your bright eyes, kissable lips and soothing voice. “Hello, child.”
You hummed a laugh. “I can never get used to that. Being an adult and being called a child is always strange to me.”
“I suppose it takes some time to get used to.” He tilted his head. “Pardon if I am rude, but I know everyone in this town and yet I do not know you.”
You gave your name and offered your hand. You smiled so sweetly as soon as Levi took it. “I just moved in. I’m here to restore your art.”
Levi’s eyes lit up. “Are you?”
You nodded. “I sent an email to let you know I was coming. Did I send it to the wrong person? You are Father Levi Ackerman, right?”
Levi nodded. “Indeed, I am. I did get your email, I just wasn’t expecting…”
“Someone young? I get that a lot.” You sighed and looked back at the art. “I will set up everything tomorrow.”
“My temple is all yours.”
You glanced over at him. “May I have a schedule? I will work around you and your sermons.”
He bowed his head. “I will send you my timetable right away.” He saw you staring at the confessional booth and people waiting to go inside it. “Like to try confession?”
You blushed a little before laughing off Levi’s comment. “I’m sorry I don’t really believe in this sort of thing. I’m not part of this religion. Plus, confessing to a stranger thing seems rather odd to me.” You play with a bit of your hair. “I don’t want to offend you.”
He thought you were cute and sweet. He observed your energy and saw there was something in there, something dark like a fear of someone. For the first time, he wanted to help someone. He was a demon and his role was to feed off people, but with you, he wanted to be a priest and care for you. He wanted that bad energy gone for good.
He released a sigh. “My child, have you ever heard of therapy?”
You frowned making you look adorable to Levi. “People go there to confess things that have been troubling them. I suppose you’re offering free therapy with your confessional booth, huh?” You laughed. “I didn’t think of it that way.”
“You can view it that way.” He shrugged a little. “Most do.” He leaned closer to you and spoke with a deep voice. “So, have I enticed you?”
You stared at the booth and thought about it all. You might not follow this religion, but it couldn’t hurt to get close to Father Levi because you’ll be there for months. “Very well let’s give it a try. I won’t convert to your religion though.”
He felt excitement within him at hearing all the wonderful sins you had. “Just lending a friendly ear.” He guided you to the booth and sat inside. He looked at you through the lattice and felt his heart flutter in his chest. He felt like he was the sinner and not you. “Confess your sins to me.”
You burst out laughing at his line making Levi’s heart soar. “Do you get some sort of kick out of this? Or did you say that on purpose just to make me smile?” You wiped your tears away as you giggled.
He smiled in the dark as excitement filled him. “I want to make you smile so you’ll be comfortable enough to talk. You are not used to these things, so I’m doing what I can.” He leaned and looked at you through the lattice. “Are you comfortable?”
You wiggled in your seat. “I suppose I am. Thank you.”
He hummed a laugh. “You’re most welcome, my silly line worked.”
You grinned at how sweet he was. “It really did.” You hugged yourself and leaned towards Levi. “Tell me, father, do you get some sort of enjoyment from listening to people’s sins? You get all the latest gossip and you can learn all the information you desire about people. I know it’s confidential but surely it must be exciting and some sort of way to know all the secrets? Maybe you’re some sort of devil in disguise. Having all the fun in the world.”
His canines grew sharp as his pupils became black slits. “Wouldn’t that be a fun little thing?”
“It’d be genius. You’ll get fed by people’s sins.” You looked around the small booth and hummed. “Smells nice in here.”
“I keep a clean temple.” He shifted closer. “Do you want to talk?”
You locked eyes with him. “Do you have a sixth sense with this kind of thing? How did you know I have things on my mind?”
He hummed a gentle laugh. “You have this aura about you.” He looked into your eyes. “Something in your eyes as well. So?”
You frowned a little as you processed the screaming thoughts in your head. You pulled at your sleeve a little and nibbled your lip sending off a dark aura. “I guess my biggest sin is myself.”
He fed off your aura, but it hurt his heart a little. “Explain.”
“I outwardly look happy and active, but inside there’s this darkness eating away at me. I truly am my worst critic.” You leaned back and sighed. “It’s nothing special though, everyone has that bad voice, right?”
“You’re right, others have a dark voice.” He turned fully to the lattice. “That doesn’t mean you should think so little of your own. Just because others suffer doesn’t mean you should neglect yourself. Your pain matters. You matter.”
You smiled softly. “You’re pretty good at this.”
“Thank you.”
You let out a long sigh. “Thanks, this was interesting. I should check out the town and get my things together. Do you have a copy of the key to this place?”
“I do.” He slipped out of the confessional and walked with you like he was a puppy following his master. He soon took the lead and let you into his office. “Ignore the daggers you’re getting. I don’t just let anyone in here.”
You looked around to see a lot of women glaring at you. “You’re popular, huh?” You walked in and looked around his office. “Must kill them that you have to stay celibate.”
Levi hummed a laugh as he opened his desk drawer. “I’ve had a few confess that their sin is me.”
You walked over to him. “I’m not surprised. You have a handsome face, you listen, you’re kind and from what I can tell from your tight clothes, you are muscular.”
He stood up and held up the key. “Am I appealing to you?”
You held the key but he wouldn’t release it. “Does it matter? You can’t do anything about it even if I was.” You pulled the key from his hands. “The joys of not having religious laws.” You laughed. “I’ll see you around, Father Levi.”
Levi blushed as he watched you walk away. “See you soon.”

Classical music drifted through the temple. Soft humming matched the delightful tune filling the grand hall. Simple scaffolding rose from the floor to reach the ceiling. Below gazed longing eyes on the woman lying above painting moving stories. Desire and need for interaction burned inside the sly demon. It nipped away at his insides. It consumed him so much that he barely acknowledged those around him.
He approached the ladder up and made his climb. His cheeks burned when he was met with a plump chest sticking up and almost spilling out of the tank top under the dungarees. His eyes ran down at admired your thighs before snapping to your face. You’d been here at his temple for two weeks now and he adored your company and the few chats you both shared, but he desired more.
You turned your head and smiled at Levi. “Hello, father. You checking up on me?”
“Indeed.” He looked up at your work. “Excellent work so far.”
“Thank you. Do you want to join me?” You shuffled over. “I can make room.”
He climbed up and lay back next to you. He stared at the painting above and admired the mixing of colours forming a beautiful painting. “I’ve never looked at this work like this before.”
You hummed a laugh as you continued to paint next to him. “It’s nice, right? Sometimes you have to look at things from a different perspective to truly understand its magnificent depths.”
Levi turned his head and gazed at you. “The same could be said about people.”
You looked over at Levi and smiled. “You’re right.” Your heart throbbed as Levi moved a little closer to you and eyed your lips. You licked your lips as you felt a tingle within you. “Hey, do you want to get a cup of tea? I saw a nice café in town and it’ll be good to have someone who knows this town to show me around, right?”
Levi blushed a little at the idea of this being a date. “Sure. I will climb down first.”
“You got it!”
He ascended the ladder before staring up at you as you came down. He held back a smile as he enjoyed your behind in his face. He shifted to your side and offered his hand to you. “Be careful.”
You held his soft hand and climbed down the last steps. “Thank you.”
He pulled you against him making your aura turn red, but there were cute flutters of pink and white meaning your lust for him had other feelings. He smiled a little at you as his interest in you sparked. He’d never have anyone hold more than lust for him. There was one thing that concerned him, the small amount of fear inside you.
You cleared your throat. “Father?”
He pulled a cloth from your pocket and began rubbing your cheek. “You have paint on your pretty face. I know you are a work of art, but not the kind that needs paint.”
You laughed. “You’re a bit of a flirt.”
“Only with you.” He put your cloth back. “I know you can take it, unlike the others.”
You snorted a laugh. “I do worry about the other ladies.” You walked at Levi’s side as you made your way out of the temple. “I feel like one of them might stab me in my back.”
“That wouldn’t be very holy of them now, would it?”
You giggled. “You’re right.” You let out a long sigh as you moved through the town. “Can I ask you something?”
“I’m all ears.”
You hummed in response. “Are there many sinners in this town?”
He held back a smile as he thought about all the delicious meals he has had since being here. “Indeed. Sins are everywhere, my chi-.”
You jumped in front of Levi and pointed at him. “Don’t! Don’t call me that.”
He tilted his head as the urge to tease you bubbled away. “You are all children of our two gods.”
You turned on your heels. “Yeah, I get that, but I’m not your kid. So, it just seems weird. Plus, I’m an adult.”
He studied you and hummed. “You’re interesting to tease.”
You let out a long groan. “You’re a right ass.”
“Fancy calling the local priest an ass.”
You stretched your arms and pushed your chest out which was noticed by Levi. “I call it as I see it.” You huffed. “Bet it’s weird talking to someone who isn’t part of your little religious group.”
He pushed the café door open. “You’re correct in your thinking. It is refreshing.”
You approached the counter and turned to Levi. “Well, that’s something I guess.” You pointed. “What can I get you? My treat.”
He let out a long sigh as he looked at the menu. “I think I’ll have a pot of tea, along with a lemon and poppy seed muffin.” He didn’t gain anything from eating human food, it was more like a pleasure to do so and it made him appear normal. “How about you?”
You smiled at the attendant. “Could you make that pot of tea for two? I’d also like something with chocolate if that’s okay?”
The attendant nodded with a soft smile. “Of course, I’ll get everything together right away. Shall I place this on your tab, father?”
You stood between Levi and the woman. “Nope! This is my treat.” You pulled your wallet out of your front pocket on your dungarees and handed the money over. “Do we take a seat?”
“Yes.”
You blushed. “Thanks.” You turned around and retreated to a table in the corner before placing your head in your hands. “This is why I don’t socialise.”
Levi sat down and leaned on the table. “What’s the matter? I thought it was rather sweet.”
You lifted your head and huffed. “I should just stick to painting things.”
“It wasn’t that bad.”
You sat back in your seat and studied Levi. “How do you do it? How are you able to be social with others?”
He waited for the food and drink to be put down before he spoke. “Well, it’s my job. When it’s my job, I do it well. If it wasn’t my job, I would be rather happy not being social.”
“Introvert at heart made to be an extrovert.”
He gracefully poured the tea for you both. “You are correct.” He handed you a cup of tea. “I socialise because I must.”
You sipped your tea as you watched Levi closely and tried to figure him out. “Does it bother you?”
He looked at you over his cup. “What?”
“The whole celibacy thing?”
He placed his cup down and felt amused by your question. “Are you asking if I miss sex?”
You shook your head. “No, I’m asking if you miss relationships, dating, waking up next to someone, holding someone you care about, kissing them and the cute moments.”
He thought about all those with you. “I suppose, but I’ve never truly experienced love. Plus, dating is a stressful process. Trying to keep someone to stay around and love you is nice but at the same time it could come crashing down on you.”
You frowned a little. “Did someone break your heart or a friend’s heart?”
He shifted in his seat. “Do you know much about the origins of the divide? When the demon King was born?”
You nodded as you started to think about your knowledge of the religion. “I do.”
He smiled. “A demon met a beautiful priestess. He fell in love with her, they were together and then she left him for some Emperor human and broke the demon’s heart with no cares.”
You recoiled a little as you frowned. “That’s not it.”
Levi tilted his head. “You really telling a priest that?”
“I am.”
He was amused by you. “Very well, you tell me what you think the real story is.”
You let out a long sigh as you prepared yourself. “Everyone knows the original story is a tragedy, correct?”
He cut his muffin and took a bite. He swallowed and adored your cute face as you waited for a response. “Yes.”
You relaxed at his response. “Well, I agree with you that the demon King’s origin is tragic, but his lover also. She loved the demon with all her heart, but if you remember in the texts it is said a lot he is immortal and she is mortal. They kept pushing that concept. Right?”
He nodded. “Right.”
You leaned closer as you felt excited about your idea and Levi was enjoying this. “Don’t you think that’s sad? If you were deeply in love with someone and they were mortal and you were immortal.” You sat on the edge of your seat and looked Levi in the eyes making him blush hard. “The person you love will die and there’s nothing you can do about it. You live for eternity and they only live for about seventy together. That’s a blip in your life. Don’t you think that’s painful?”
Levi stared at you and imagined it all. Now demons could turn humans into demons and join them, but back when the King was in love it wasn’t a possibility. “It would break me.”
You played with your cup on the table. “The way I see it, she broke up with the King because the pain of breaking up is nothing compared to her growing old and him not. Seeing someone you love wither away and die in your arms is soul-crushing. She left him to spare him pain. She’s then barely in the texts, almost absent from it and it makes sense. She lost who she was, she lost herself and so the texts lost her.” You welled up a little. “I can’t imagine how hard it was for her. She lost her love, became the villain of the man she loved, had children with a man she didn’t care about and just rotted away.” You downed the last of your tea. “That’s the real story.”
Levi had fallen hard for you in that sweet moment. “I never thought of it that way.”
You ate some of your treat. “Mm, I might be wrong, but that’s how I viewed it.”
“I like it.” He let out a long sigh. “May I ask you something?”
You smiled. “Sure.”
He poured two more cups of tea. “If you were her if you were that priestess, would you have done the same?”
You finished the last of your treat and gulped. “No.”
His brow raised. “No?”
You sipped your tea and shrugged. “I would have gone to the ends of the Earth to find a way to become immortal. I’d do anything I could to be with them. I’d rather go down kicking than bow out.”
Levi’s heart fluttered in his chest. “Incredible.”
“What about you?”
He smiled a little. “I’d do the same as you. No one will stop me from having my lover with me for eternity.”
You let out a long sigh. “Well, we see eye to eye.” You frowned in thought. “Kind of sad that in the texts it says demons and angels could turn humans, but she was very much dead for many years by the time the gods allowed it. It’s pretty unfair.”
Levi hummed in agreement. “I agree with you. Seems cruel.”
You cleaned your mouth. “It is.” You gulped. “I should get back to work.”
“Oh, am I bad company?”
You blushed. “No! Wait…you’re winding me up.”
He stood up and offered his hand to you. “I am.”
You took his hand and stood up. “Ass.”
He walked along with you. “There you go again calling a religious figure an ass.”
“I will continue to do so.”
He looked up at the sky. “Autumn festival soon.”
You looked up at Levi. You blushed when he gave you the side eye. “Oh, really?”
He lowered his head as he was amused by your reaction to him. “You should go to it.”
“Nah.”
“Why not?” He paused in the front garden of his temple. “You’ll be living here for a while as there is a lot to paint in my temple. So, you should get involved with local events. Trust me, you wouldn’t want to miss it.”
You groaned as you thought about it. “It just…I dunno.”
He leaned closer to you making you hold your breath. “For a smart and talented woman, you do miss a few things.”
You blushed hard at him being close to you. “I’m sorry?”
He reached over and played with some of your hair. “I am asking you to come with me. I want to go with you. You and me, together.” He locked eyes with you. “Well?”
You fiddled with your dungarees. “Uh…sure?”
“Wonderful.” He walked up the steps and opened the temple door. “I have to go, it’s mandatory for me.”
You walked past him as he held the door open. “So, you’re bringing me along to make me suffer too?”
He closed the door and walked with you. “I’m bringing you along because you’re the only person I can talk to, find comfort in and have some sort of intellectual conversation with.” He stopped by your ladder. He leaned closer and whispered. “Plus, if I have to hear from Mrs White again how she makes her cake in great detail, I’m going to skin her alive.”
You snorted a laugh. “That bad?”
He leaned against the wall and groaned loudly. “She talks about the cake, then about where to go, where the ingredients are from, who invented it and a very detailed step-by-step guide on how to put it all together and cook it.” He looked at you. “She even tells me what she does as she waits for the cake to bake.”
You smiled. “Every year?”
He nodded. “Every. Year.”
You leaned against the wall next to him. You reached over and held his hand a little making his heart skip a beat. You smiled when he squeezed your hand. “You’re amazing to go through so much. You work so hard for others.” You pressed your arm against his and enjoyed his warmth. “You’re pretty wonderful.”
“Thank you.”
You nibbled your lip and smirked a little. “For a priest.”
He chuckled and shook his head. “There it is. I was wondering when you were going to insult me.”
You pulled from the wall and turned to face him. “You’d be worried if I didn’t.”
“You’re right.” He eyed your aura to see it was bright with pinks and whites, but there was that darkness still there that he wanted to know about. He offered his hand to you. “Let me help you.”
You took his hand and climbed up the ladders. You released his hand and climbed up. “Thank you.” You leaned over and looked down at him. “You can join me up here whenever you want to hide from Mrs White.”
“I will do so.” He waved to you and walked around the temple.
Levi let out a long sigh as he worked in his office, his thoughts were locked onto you and how you spoke today. He felt a real connection with you, something on a deep level. He wanted to see you again. He got up and left his office as he felt the pull towards you. He stared at the scaffolding as you played classical music again. He thought of what he could do or say so he could be with you.
“Father Levi?”
Levi felt his skin prickle at Mrs White’s voice. “Shit.” Listening to her talk was like being tortured. “Shit.”
She shuffled along looking for him. “Yoo-hoo! Father Levi!?”
Levi ran over to your ladders and scrambled up them. “She’s here!”
You laughed as Levi fell on you. “I must say this is a first, a priest falling for me.”
He covered your mouth with his hand as he lay on top of you. “Hush. Mrs White is here.”
You snorted a laugh behind his hand. You cast your gaze to the side as you heard Mrs White.
She shuffled to the confessional and opened the door. “Father Levi?”
You rolled under Levi and moved to look over the edge. You raised your bum a little and felt something thick against your bum. You blushed a little and tried not to think about what was in the religious man’s pants lying on top of you.
You grabbed the edge and looked. “Oh, she has a cake for you.”
Levi looked over your shoulder and whispered back. “That’s the worst part! Please, don’t send me down there.”
“Oh and miss out on torturing you?”
“Please.”
You giggled. “I’ll protect you, don’t worry.” You turned a little to look at him, his lips close to yours. You gulped hard. “Hide and I’ll get rid of her.”
He let out a long sigh. “Thank you.”
You lay there and waited until Levi was in the clear. You gave him the thumbs up and leaned over. “Yo! Miss?”
Mrs White jumped. “Who said that!?”
You waved. “Over here! Scaffolding, love.”
She looked up and saw you. “Oh! There you are! What are you doing up there?”
“Painting naked people.”
She shuffled closer and cupped her ear. “What was that?”
You squeaked at Levi slapping your thigh. “Ow!”
Levi glared at you and whispered. “Stop it!”
You sighed and looked down at Mrs White. “I’m restoring the art in this temple.”
Mrs White gasped. “Oh my, what a lovely thing to do!”
You blushed a little. “Thanks. I’m here a while.”
“Would you like some cake?”
You gulped hard. “I’ve just had cake at the local café. Sorry. I just got back here to work.”
She smiled softly. “Not to worry, my dear. Have you seen Father Levi?”
You shook your head as Levi lay against your legs. “No, I haven’t. I saw him earlier, but I believe he might have gone home or for a walk.” You grinned at her. “Can I give him a message for you?”
She placed the cake box on the floor. “Just get this cake to him for me. I’ll see him at the festival.” She hummed a laugh. “I’m just making sure he eats. He’s always working hard and barely eats.”
“You’re right.”
“Plus, he’s got a nice ass.” She chuckled. “I haven’t seen an ass that fine in years.” She shuffled along. “See you soon!”
You waved to her and turned to Levi. “Nice ass huh?”
Levi blushed. “Stop.”
“Haven’t seen a fine ass like yours in years.”
He pressed his face against your cushion and groaned. “You’re a brat.”
You giggled. “Free cake though.”

Doodles based around events in my new one-shot fic, Weight of a Forgotten Tune!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Link to the fic is here!
It's about Onyankapon introducing Levi and Hange to the invention of the record player and rediscovering a song they thought to be forgotten in the past! It's Levi-centric but with plenty of Levihan, Onyankapon, and the 104 squad moments too! Please check it out!
So basically I somehow managed to, in the span of a mere week, churn out a monster of a one-shot due to my intense level of investment in the subject matter I focused on, so now take your complimentary drawings! While I've done COUNTLESS Levihan drawings I haven't doodled Onyankapon much before now and he is such a joy to draw! It's a crime I haven't done so sooner, he's an underrated guy and we appreciate him in this household! I kinda poured my heart and soul into my writing so expect more drawings to come from it soon! Stay tuned for more content from me! :D

As Above, So Below
Levi holds the girl secure against his chest, her head cradled to his neck, and moves quickly through the back alleys and side streets of the district, toward his and Furlan’s home.
He already knows what Furlan will say, and he doesn’t care.
The girl was alive, and that’s all that mattered.
He could help her.  He would.
He’d found her, passed out from hunger, half-drowning in a puddle of sewage.  He’d checked her, like he checked all the children he came across.  Most were already dead by the time he found them.  The ones that weren’t, Furlan was most usually with him, and he would tell Levi no, and Levi would settle then for leaving food or coin.
But she was alive, and Furlan wasn’t with him, and so he’d taken her.
But not before wandering the neighborhood for a good hour, asking about, asking if she belonged to anyone.  No one had laid claim.  He had no thought beyond her immediate rescue.
She’s as light as a bag of bones in his arms.  He knows she’s hardly more than that.
He already knows what Furlan will say, and he doesn’t care.
//
“No.  Levi, no.”
Levi ignores him, laying the girl down on the floor.  He pulls his cloak free, bunching it under her head for a pillow.  He checks her pulse again.  Thready, but it’s still there.
“Lee!”
Furlan stands over him.  Levi can feel the weight of his gaze, accusatory.  Disappointed.
“She needs help,” he finally answers, and hears Furlan’s sigh of frustration.
“She’s already dead,” Furlan snaps. “look at her!  Lee, you can’t keep doing this!”
“She’s alive,” Levi says. “she’s not dead.  Don’t say that.”
“She will be soon enough.  Levi…” Furlan’s voice softens suddenly, pleading instead of angry.  His hand rests on Levi’s shoulder. “look, I know it hurts you.  But listen to me.  We can’t afford this.  We can’t afford another mouth to feed.  It’s bad enough, you throwing away half our haul every time we come across some starving kid.  You know most of them don’t make it, even when you help them.”
Levi frowns, checking the girl for bruising, lifting her arms carefully, rolling the tattered sleeves of her shirt past her elbows.  No track marks, which is good.  Means she isn’t an addict, at least.
“She’ll make it,” he answers.
Furlan growls in frustration, tearing his hand away.
“Levi, even if you save this girl, what the hell difference will it make!?  The Underground is filled with starving children!  What difference will it make, you saving one in who the hell knows how many?!”
“It’ll matter to her!” Levi finally snaps, agitated as he stands, facing off against the older boy. “I couldn’t just leave her there, Fur!  She’s alive!”
“Yeah.  And?” Furlan steps closer to him, glaring down at him. “Levi, you give half our food away to every kid you come across out there.  You give them our money.  Oh, don’t give me that look!  You think I don’t see you slipping coins to those kids every time you think I’m not watching?  We’re barely scraping by week to week.  Did you think about that when you decided to take this girl in off the street?  You won’t be able to support her and keep up your little acts of charity out there, too.  I won’t let you.”
Levi snarls, turning away, back to the girl.
“I’ll figure it out,” he mutters. “I’ll get us more money.”
“How?!” Furlan presses.
“I’ll pull more jobs.  I’ll get us the money, don’t worry.”
“What, by yourself?”
“Yeah,” Levi says, eyes fixed on the girl.  On the shallow rise and fall of her bony chest.
“God, you and your bleeding heart, Lee!  As if it’s that easy!  What about our crew?  You know we still need to pay them, don’t you?  We can’t afford this!”
Levi grits his teeth.
He knows Furlan is right.  Knows they’re barely able to get by as is.  That he was putting a bigger strain on them by trying to help every little brat he came across out there.  Knew most of them ended up dying anyway.  He just couldn’t… he couldn’t leave her when he knew there was something he could do.
What the hell good was his strength if he couldn’t use it to help people?
He wishes he could explain to Furlan.  Wishes he knew how to put it to words.
That day, when he’d rescued Furlan, and he’d realized he could help… really help.  That his strength could be used for something better than keeping his own, miserable self going…
He hadn’t known that before.
Nobody had ever told him.
Kenny hadn’t told him.  Hadn’t shown him.  Hadn’t shown him anything but how to hurt and kill.  And that’s all Levi had thought he was good for.  Hurting and killing and keeping his own, miserable self going.
But then he’d rescued Furlan, and he realized he could help.  His strength could help, instead of hurt.  He’d discovered that all on his own.
Kenny had been a liar and told Levi otherwise.  But Levi had found the truth all on his own.
So fuck you, Kenny, he thinks.  He could help instead of hurt.  He knew that now.  It didn’t have to be just hurt.
“Fur,” Levi says, voice quiet. “I can’t leave her.  She doesn’t deserve that.”
He turns, looking up at his friend.  His first and only friend.
“I’ll get us the money.  I swear.  I won’t let nothin’ happen to us.  You know I won’t.”
Furlan looks tired, mouth turned down at the corners.
Finally, he sighs, shaking his head.
“I’ll make some broth,” he says, resigned. “she shouldn’t eat anything that’s gonna’ be hard for her to digest.  Not until her body’s adjusted.”
Levi feels the tension go out of his shoulders, relief washing over him, powerful enough to make his head light.
“… Thank you, Fur,” he says.
Furlan doesn’t look happy, but he doesn’t protest anymore.  Just tells Levi to get the girl up onto the couch, to fetch water, see if he can get her to drink any while he makes the broth.
Levi nods, picking the girl back up, careful with her as he carries her to the couch, careful as he lays her down.
She’s so young.  Maybe twelve, thirteen years old.  He can see beneath the filth of her hair that it’s red.  She’ll have lice, but that’s okay.  They have soap for that.  He’ll be able to comb it out.
Her eyes flutter open, green fogged by the bleariness of hunger, dry lips parting as she tries to speak.  They crack and bleed, and Levi frowns.
He remembers.
He knows what she feels.
“Wh-where…” her voice comes out a rasped whisper.
“You’re okay,” Levi tells her, and takes her hand, holds it tight in his own.
Her eyes search for him, but don’t see, too crushed by the exhaustion of desperation.
Levi lays his palm to her forehead, checking for fever.  Her skin is cool, though.  He doesn’t think she’s ill with disease.
“Can you hear me?” he asks. “Do you think you can drink?”
Her lips work, the column of her throat bobbing as she swallows.  And then she gives a single, shallow nod, and Levi feels a swell of hope in his heart.
He clasps her hand again.
“Okay,” he tells her. “just hang on.”
He stands to fetch her a ladle of water, and sees Furlan, looking at him from across the space.  The older boy turns away quickly, back to the pot he’s heating over their small coal burner.
Levi feels a pang of guilt.
Furlan wasn’t wrong to be worried.
It was hard enough, just surviving as was.  Just the two of them.  Another mouth to feed would only make it harder.
But Levi meant it, when he said he wouldn’t let anything happen.  He would do whatever it took to protect Furlan.  To protect their crew.
He would work himself into the ground to make up the extra cost.  To make sure none of them went hungry.
He swears it.
He swears.
//
Her name is Isabel Magnolia.  That’s what the girl tells him when she’s strong enough to speak.
She had a mother, but she died not long back, and Isabel hadn’t known how to survive on her own.
Levi listens to all this with a kind of resigned understanding.  It was the same story for so many of the parentless children running the streets of the Underground.
It was the same story for him, until Kenny came along.
Kenny hadn’t been there much, Levi remembers.
Every few weeks, he would come by, spend a few days, teach Levi what he thought he should know, and then leave again.  On and on, until one day, he just never came back.
So, Levi understands.
And Levi thinks he could do like Kenny, and teach this girl to survive.
He thinks, better still, he could take care of this girl, the way he takes care of Furlan, and make sure she never has to learn the things he did.
//
The weeks pass, and Isabel grows stronger.  Who she really is begins to shine through.  A pistol of a girl with energy to burn.
She takes to calling Levi “Big Bro”, and Furlan teases him over it with the relentlessness of vengeance.  But Levi can tell even Furlan has begun to grow fond of her.
Levi won’t say, but quietly, there comes a sense of warmth, that the girl looks at him that way.
He wonders if this is what it might have been like, to have a family.  A big brother and a little sister.
That’s how he thinks of them, he realizes.
His family.
He smiles to himself at night, when no one is around to see.
Fervently, he prays, to whatever god there might be, that he’ll always be able to protect them.

I’m sitting here, preparing to write the rest of chapter five tonight, and I got an email informing me of this comment a wonderful reader left me.
I can’t properly express what encouragement and comments actually mean to me, especially when I’m being hard on myself like I was tonight.
Thank you to this reader, and to every single reader who has ever dropped me a kind word. 😭
Chapter five of Grey will be out very, very late tonight (US MST). I refuse to go to bed until it’s posted. 😅

Ahhhhh I had a sexy lil dream about scare actor levi and it was just great 🥰 specifically when you wrote about seeing him walking slowly to you frame by frame in strobe lights - and then it became like a game of hide and seek, but everything was heightened because it’s a haunted house and he was dressed up with a chainsaw prop so the thrill was 👌🏼
A sexy lil’ dream about scare actor Levi what a fuckin’ trick AND treat, Nonnie.
First of all, love that for you. Secondly, I too have an overactive imagination and have him in my thots daily.
Let’s share a new nightmare dream together, shall we? 👻

Read Part I
The grime of his pitch black makeup smears down his high cheeks and cut jaw.
Eyes as sharp and silver as a dagger in the night darting around every corner for you…
“Where are youuu, sweetheart?” He sing songs in a mocking timbre with a gentle rev of the chainsaw’s engine.
You’d whimper, but he’d find you all too easily.
Another game to your arsenal. Levi’s Game.
A crimson glow drips down the walls in a thick haze like blood, a fitting scene for the maze you’re panting through. Hair whipping as you twist your neck around with eyes wide. As you turn away from the only light source down a deep entrance, your fingers run over the battered and bruised wood of the hallway. You desperately search for something to hold onto as your sight strains against the dark void.
Tips extended wide and futile, you brush over something smooth to the touch yet hard. And warm.
“Hah! I found you, you sicko - you lost!”
A sliced neck greets you with entrails unfurling in waves and you nearly fall to the ground as a blaring horn is triggered with a flash. A decapitated figure suspended and tragic looms over you and you absolutely hate that he nearly got you.
A snicker, brutal and seductive floats through air and down your spine. It’s him. He feels near and far away like an entity. Like a ghost.
“What else would those gorgeous legs do, but lead you right into my trap? As always,” he mocks through a snarl.
You roll your eyes and gather yourself, lunging forward with a scoff. You begin searching for your next hiding place. But why not taunt your predator into madness while you’re at it?
“Hmm very funny,” you jeer, seizing control.
“What’s so funny, hm?”
“Funny, that you’re convinced they only get me into trouble. When they seem to only devastate you. Isn’t that right? Levi.”
You’re quite the multitasker as you manage to search for a new hiding place and fatally flirt with him. He lets you pretend to win as he watches your skirt ride up over your thighs while you bend down amidst an earthen set of uprooted trees and cracked stone.
Fuck, if he doesn’t love to watch.
The way the fat of your thighs spill through your fishnets. Another purchase for his girl. The lattice stretching wide against your skin.
He wants to lick you stupid.
But settles for pathetically twitching in his high waisted jeans wrapped so tight around his navel at the sight of you in that pastel pink skater dress. The one with with the high neck and flowing long sleeves against the harsh lines of your stockings and thigh high boots. The one he adores. He’d growl if it wouldn’t give him away.
The contrast of you makes him dizzy, but he can’t lose focus. Not now. Not when you’re within range. His prey.
“The only thing that would devastate me is not getting to taste you in that.”
You cut off your own whimper rising in your throat. But he hears. He always hears.
“Bet you’re wet for me right now aren’t you, sweetheart?”
This time you can’t stop the whine. And he laughs as your crouched thighs begin to tremble against the heel of your boots.
“That’s what I thought.”
He reaches down for you through the swirls of fog and you bolt right before he can have you.
His fingerless glove clad hand recoils and he snarls with a rip of the chainsaw, piercing the air and it has your blood rushing as you run.
And he just manages to smack your ass with the taught leather as he struggles to catch you.
The sting rushing to your skin as your skirt flutters like butterfly wings with a nocturnal beast gnashing at your tail.
“Give me what I want before I take it from you.”
You grunt in frustration as you round the corner.
“Lose already, so I can,” he heaves a delighted sigh through an evil grin as he rolls his neck with a shudder, “reward you.”
You gulp down a groan as you weave through a confined space of…hanging corpses. Lifeless bodies strung up and your imagination reels. They feel like they’re writhing against you. Slimy and unmistakably dead as they swing and knock you off your feet until your shockingly stilled. An iron grip around your waist as he plunges out a trap door to you close enough to catch you and devour your neck in a kiss. The heat of the dying chainsaw searing your thigh. Enough to send sparks through you, but not to burn.
He’s pulling you back through the door before you can protest with a tight grip around your wrist as you’re pinned against the wall of the secluded secret room.
He’s buries his sharp nose in the soft skin of your neck, nuzzling deep with a dark inhale of his cologne on your throat has his eyes rolling back. His scent of whiskey, oak, and mulled cider marking you at your own accord and he loses his damn mind.
“What were you thinking, pretty girl?”
You know exactly what he implies. What were you thinking wearing that deliciously femme dress flowing in cascades over your curves against the harsh crisscross pattern choking your legs? To top it all off with a masculine musk that has him seeing stars. His scent.
The way you toy with his expectations of you revs his pulse like the trigger of the chainsaw dangling in between your legs. Pressed against your pussy. Waiting.
“I wasn’t,’’ you whisper against him.
He grins at your submission. So you’ll behave after all.
“I’ll make sure of that,” he promises with every intention to have you fucked dumb.
But how?
He leans in to press sweet kisses into your neck. The dull heat of the chainsaw in between your thighs causes your moan to shiver across his tongue.
He’d laugh if he wasn’t so floored by you.
Taking off his demin jacket and laying it out on the floor beneath you, he softly commands, “Get down.” Another kiss to the corner of your mouth. “On your knees.”
Weak in them already, the short drop to the floor at his feet is a welcome relief. You bask in his presence waiting for more, gripping the backs of his ankles as you peer up at him.
“I know you like this shit,” he revs the trigger with a quick pulse that sends your heart racing, “don’t you?”
Wide-eyed and feigned innocence, you softly nod before him.
“I know you do, baby. Listen to me.”
He cups your jaw with his hand, thumbing your cheek with nothing but devotion. You tremble at his exaltation. He means to comfort you before the final blow.
“Fuck yourself on it.”
He lowers the chainsaw in between your spread knees, pushing the blade in between your parted thighs. The smooth flat ridge of the handle covering the trigger rests inches below your throbbing cunt.
Your answer is in the string of arousal that drips from your spread lips over the trigger of the saw.
Levi’s dark laugh has you squeezing your thighs around the outside of the machine as he sits down in front, facing you with his back against the far wall and legs spread to cage you in with his bent knees at your hips. He’s close enough to see every detail.
He likes to watch after all.
Who are you to deny him a good show?
You splay your palms flat over your plush thighs and inch agonizingly upward, dragging your fingers over your bunched hem in a slow reveal.
With a slide of your finger, the first gift of the night is unwrapped, a black silk garter straining against the fat of your thigh and threatening to spill over.
You swear you can see Levi’s throat bob at your display while he looks on with a hunger that sets you ablaze.
Palming yourself further still, the skirt drapes back to reveal a full set of intricate criss crosses and…What were you fucking thinking?
His heads cocks to the side in shock. Eyes sliding to the center of you to find nothing there. Just your bare pussy drooling through the fishnets. You’re not wearing any panties and he just might die.
“What am I gonna do with you?” Fondness dripping his tone as he reaches up to cup your jaw and you nuzzle against his palm with a kiss to his wrist.
His thumb strokes you under your eye with a tenderness that could break your heart.
You whimper and his eyes turn black.
“M gonna make it all better for you, baby. Do you trust me?”
Your tiny nod has a possessiveness seeping into every one of his thoughts as he reaches for you only to catch one of the loops in the netting and pulls hard.
The rip of the fabric exposes your cunt to the chill of the house, creaking and alive with blares of traps and screams all around you.
As a red light pulses overhead you see him in strobing images, each more beautiful and devastating than the last as he stares at you with pure hunger. His jaw hangs and lips part taking the image of you in.
“Sit. Spread my pussy out for me.”
More drips down your legs at the words.
Obeying, you slot the handle in between your lips as they drape over the sides. The warmth of the saw has you gasping at the contact, but you find yourself getting hard with the heat. Clit swollen and twitching at every movement against the soft sear.
“You can take it, baby,” he hisses through his teeth in awe of you as you relax into his warm voice.
Levi takes your wrists and drapes them around his neck and you soothe yourself with the soft shave of his undercut. You lace your fingers into his dark strands and pull yourself forward to him, riding the handle of the chainsaw. Your shameless moan has him in a daze.
“My perfect girl,” he can still smell himself on you as you buck to him.
The glint and gleam of his piercings against the dull light compete with his eyes only for you lost in the black grime trailing down his cheeks.
He reaches around your hips, grabbing a palm full of your ass. He encourages a deeper slide against the metal and you cry out for him. You’re so wet he can hear every movement you make. The sound of your own slick getting you off in return.
As you look up to Levi he’s unzipping his pants and taking himself out. Pink and aching and horrible.
He strokes himself to you as his head falls back against the black wall with his eyes sitting low as you continue to fuck yourself in front of him.
The leather of his gloves ruined from his weeping head as his bare fingers slide faster with every pump.
Your nipples harden at the sight of him and you pull your neckline down for him to see. The drool pooling on your tongue falls as you salivate, coating your nipple with a whimper. They perk and glisten as Levi’s tongue darts out. He wants to taste, but let’s you work. You deserve to feel so good.
He groans at you. His star.
“Wanna fuck you with my cock, but I wouldn’t get the same view, now would I?”
Your panting picks up and you squeeze your thighs.
“Wouldn’t get to see all of you. How pretty you look…”
He leans in inches from your lips and catches them in a kiss.
A rumble erupts at your core as he pulses the trigger briefly beneath you, keening with your head thrown back. The vibrations of the saw sending your senses into overdrive as you fight to catch your breath. The thrill only mounting.
“Fuck, you like that don’t you? Of course you do. You’re mine.”
He revs it again for a longer pulse as your grind deepens and you have to grab his shoulder to steady yourself, gripping his bicep for dear life.
Your cry stifled by the chaos around you, but Levi sees it all unfold. Your parted lips in a scream and he’s already won.
“Lev’ it’s—fuck, so good—I wanna hah,” you beg and plead and it’s only fueling him to break you down to your most basic desires. To fuck and to be fucked. To twist and to writhe, and he’ll just look on and adore you like the art that you are.
“If you want to, don’t look away. Only me. Can you do that, my love?” He groans out on an exhale as he relentlessly works his cock. The flick of his wrist hypnotizing you. Precum smearing and his own thighs begin to shake.
“Don’t ever wanna—mmm—leave you. Never, never. Levi, you’re so, so—fuck, I…I,” you’re breathless, but somehow, “I love you.”
He presses the trigger into overdrive and you’re flying off the edge, tumbling and crashing into him. You can’t hear him say it over the cacophonous noise reverberating off the walls, but you see the tender I love you too flow from his lips with his eyes wide and glassy. The look he gives you could heal you and destroy you.
You want it all.
Your chest hitting his as you’re thrown from the machine crying out his name. You cum hard in waves and the scene brings him there as you shake in his arms. White dripping over his fist as he locks his dark eyes with you.
He promised he’d never look away.
Maybe you’ll learn to catch something as wild and unpredictable as smoke while he sinks into your eyes, spilling all his secrets in his stare.
