If Levi had a son, that kid would be 6'4 when he grows up and the worst part is Levi doesn't even know how that happened. His first theory is that he picked up the tall gene from Kenny or someone from your side. His second theory is that his son is the height he would be if he didn't grow up malnourished as a child in the underground. Its funny when they stand side by side too, same face, same stance but the height difference makes people think that Levi is the son haha.

Levi comes up beside you, hand sliding over your waist to rest on your hip and hold you close.
"I don't know how to approach this so I'm going to break it down." there’s a hint of apprehension in his voice.
"Uhh, okay?" you're confused and look up at him to give him a look.
"You know I respect you right? and that I know you're not an object?" he waits for your answer.
A huffed laugh leaves you, "Yes? why, where are you going with this?'
"So thats been established. I don't see you as an object to possess or own?” another pause for your acknowledgment. " I just want to make that clear because I don't want to say anything that's gonna make you think that I own you or-
"Levi, what are you talking about?'
"There's a guy over there," he nods his chin in the direction of said man. "Who has been staring at you all night and I really don't like it and I wanted to talk to you about it but I didn't want you thinking I was being possessive. I just don't like the way he is looking at you, like he wants to own you or something but you belong to - wait never-mind, I just don't like it."
"Levi?"
"Yes, love?"
"Do you belong to me?"
He pauses for a moment to really think about how to answer you. "Yes, I think I belong to you."
"And do you think I belong to you?'
"Well, I like to, I hope you do."
"Then I do."
"But you know its not in a toxic way, I'm not being controlling.”
"Yes, baby I know, but for all intents and purposes, you belong to me and I belong to you.”

Husband! Levi whose first customer in his tea shop was you.
Husband! Levi who instantly fell in love with you. You became a regular in his tea shop and he always remembered your everyday order.
Husband! Levi who proposed to you a few years later and the two of you got married.
Husband! Levi wakes up with a smile everyday seeing your sleeping form beside him. Every morning he kisses your forehead.
Husband! Levi and you make breakfast together. The kitchen filled with your giggles.
The wind flows in through the window beside your kitchen as you sing softly. He hugs you from behind and rests his chin on your shoulders.
Oh how he loves your voice..
Husband! Levi loves listening to you talk while he brews tea for the both of you.
Husband! Levi who hangs up paintings and illustrations made by you on the walls of his tea shop.
The tea shop has little of you everywhere. Things that remind him of you. Unbeknownst to you, he has dedicated himself and the tea shop to you.

A/N: This was inspired by a Tumblr Post I saw which got deleted 😭
“Look at that ass.” Reiner mumbled as he looked towards the shorter girl in the dining hall.
”You’re not talking about Y/N are you? She’s a bit older than us from what I heard.” Jean muttered as he placed boxes of food down.
”If I had to guess, she’s in her early 20s. Maximum.” Connie said as he looked at the beautiful girl.
”I got a chance then.” Reiner said as he smirked mischievously and crossed his arms over his chest, still staring at the girl in the distance.
“Reiner, you’re so different from the older brother figure when you say stuff like this..” Armin mentioned, getting Reiner to turn his head to him, a shocked expression spread across his face.
”I don’t blame you for saying that though, she does have nice uhm boobs too.” Connie admitted as everyone looked at him, shocked.
”H-have some respect you guys! That’s a female you’re talking about..” Armin stuttered as he looked at Y/N, talking to Petra.
”She’s got good thighs.” Jean simply said, ignoring Armin’s comment and smirking straight after he stared at them.
”Armin is right you guys. Y/N may be pretty but you shouldn’t stare at a woman like that!” Eren said as he gripped the broom he held in his hand.
”What a hypocrite you are Eren! You say that like you don’t look up and down at her all the time.” Jean yelled, Erens face going red from embarrassment. “You really think no one sees?!”
”S-shut up Horse Face!” Eren shouted. “And I do not!”
”You g-guys should quieten d-down!” Bertolt interrupted as he tried breaking up the small argument. Looking up, they all saw Y/N glancing at the scene before them along with Petra. “S-she’s staring..”
Quickly waving at the group, Y/N awkwardly smiled before rushing away with Petra to the training ground. Blushing red, the boys began somewhat celebrating the small interaction with her.
”S-she smiled at me.!” Bertolt said as his face was flushed dark red.
”Bertolt don’t lie! She obviously saw how amazing I was at challenging Eren me ran away after she took a glimpse of me!” Jean exclaimed.
”Like hell! She probably ran away after seeing you horse face! She waved at me since I’m in the same squad as her.” Eren shouted.
”She looked so hot.” Connie said as he stood still, his face tinted pink.
”Did you see the way her body swayed as she left.?! I’m gonna marry her.” Reiner muttered to himself, which Armin heard.
”S-she was probably t-trying to be nice you guys!” Armin explained as he covered his bright red face.
“Oi.” A voice called out from behind them. Turning around, the emotion from their faces washed out as they met eyes with Captain Levi.
”C-captain!” Eren stuttered as he stood tall and saluted to Levi. “Do you need anything.?”
”Your cleaning is shitty as always. We have another experiment ready for you to do, so come with me.” Levi said bluntly as he walked forward.
”Will the Squad be their.?!” Eren asked enthusiastically, stopping the Captain is his tracks.
”Yes.” Levi grumbled, not wanting to turn back to see Eren sticking out his tongue at the other boys, but soon spoke up. “Y/N won’t be their since she’s busy helping with paperwork, Hange will be in her place.”
“Hah!” Jean exclaimed before zipping shut and allowing the Captain to leave.
”Dammit.” Eren muttered as he headed towards the hallway, leaving his guy friends alone. “Hange replaced with Y/N too..”
”She’s doing paperwork huh?” Reiner asked as he smirked again. “I’ll just walk by and y’know, ask if she needs help.”
”Reiner no.”  Connie grumbled as he held onto his leg as if it would stop him. “PLEASE! WE’LL SPLIT THE TIME! I BEG YOU.”
”You guys, that’s an invasion of privacy.!” Bertolt said as he follows after them, coming up with excuses to stop them from bothering Y/N.
”Reiner you damn bastard. Thinking you can allow yourself to do that to a woman!” Jean argued as he followed after them.
”You guys! We have actual chores to do y’know!” Armin said before running after the group. Meanwhile, Levi stood behind a large pillar listening to what they all had said. Even before he had stepped in, he listened in from the hallway right beside them.
None of them ended up hanging out with Y/N.
.
.
.
Weeks went by and each and every one of the newer recruits got to know Y/N and talk to her more, to which the other cadets seemed to sigh at or shake their heads. Some of the recruits even receiving compliments and nicknames made them think they had a chance.
”Y/N is allowed to sit with higher ups?” Armin asked confused as most of the newer recruits turned to see her. Y/N sat between Hange and Levi, Erwin’s seat being empty due to an overload of work. Mike sat down in front of the trio before zoning out once Hange talked about Titans.
”She must be a highly skilled soldier then, she gets to sit with her Captain too.” Connie suggested before munching on his stale bread.
“Hey Levi, can I go sit with Petra.?” Y/N whispered subtly.
”….” Levi thought as he looked at his Squads table. “No. Too many guys.”
”Please! I’ll only talk to Petra when I’m there.” Y/N promised. Levi nodded before sipping on his tea, Y/N got up before strolling towards the Squad. Most of the new recruits and some of the older ones stared as she walked over to the distant table and sat down beside the short haired girl.
”These new recruits never know yet still try and make a move.” Mike mumbled to Levi as he watched Erwin walk in. “Surprised it doesn’t piss you off every time.”
”Trust me Moustache, you don’t know what to feel.” Levi grumbled as he sipped on his drink moodily.
“Good Afternoon. What're we discussing?” Erwin asked as he sat down beside Mike.
”We’re talking about the new recruits and Y/N.” Hange giggled before stifling her laugh. “Not to mention Levi being jealous.”
”I’m not jealous.” Levi bluntly said.
”Doesnt she call those new recruits nicknames?” Hange teased. “I don’t think I’ve heard her ever say anything like the names she calls them.”
”She doesn’t need to, we already have trust with one another. Besides, ‘Levi’ is enough.” Levi answered, still curious on what the other nicknames Y/N called the newer recruits.
Eren made sure to sit at a good distance from Y/N but still close enough to her, Eld and Gunther talked together and stopped Oluo from trying to make a move on you. Meanwhile back at the newer and much louder recruits table, Reiner and Connie began arguing along with Jean talking some nonsense whilst Armin and Bertolt tried calling them all down.
“I clearly have a better chance with Y/N. You’re a horse-face in case you didn’t know!” Connie said as he looked at Jean.
”And you’re bald, what’s she gonna do with that bald head you got? Use it as a deodorant?” Jean angrily exclaimed.
”You guys really need to stop yelling..” Armin whispered to the duo.
”Yeah, yelling nonsense.” Reiner muttered. “Eren sitting next to Y/N, puckering up to her. Besides I have the best nickname so that means Y/N likes me best.”
”What’s your nickname then huh?!” Connie asked.
”You don’t need to know that, what happens with me and Y/N stays between us. That’s loyalty.” Reiner snickered.
”Calm down meathead. Y/N calls me the Great Stallion!” Jean said smugly.
”Only because Y/N was being nice to you. You really do have a horse-face.” Connie argued.
”You guys! Stop arguing, other cadets are getting annoyed.. especially the veterans.” Bertolt whispered shyly.
”Shut your mouth Mr Shy smile!” Connie said angrily, causing Bertolt to blush dark shades of red.
”Man those new recruits sure are noisy..” Nanaba muttered to Gelgar.
”I’m just glad one of them hasn’t said something too stupid yet.” Gelgar replied before chuckling.
”I’m just saying, I think I could take Y/N to the beds first and I’d be the best.” Reiner said confidently, loud enough for Levi to hear.
The cup in Levi’s hand had cracked as soon as the words left Reiner’s mouth, Erwin kept his calm posture however deep inside he was startled by the comment. Hange was close to balling her eyes off, whilst Mike had smirked.
”Never mind.” Gelgar muttered as he kept his head down.
”We spoke too soon.. Levi’s not going to take that right?” Nanaba asked quietly as she looked over at Levi’s table. All of a sudden, Levi stood up and walked over to his Squads table, heading towards Y/N.
“Captain, is there something you need-“ Y/N began to say. Very quickly Levi kissed her temple before grabbing her hand and kissing her knuckles too, in front of the Survey Corps.
”I’m going to do my paperwork.” Levi bluntly said as he tried dragging her off. “Let’s go.”
”O-okay.” Y/N stuttered before strolling away with Levi, smiling at his confidence. Meanwhile the whole of Mess Hall was quiet as they stared at the doors that the duo left in.
”She’s dating Captain Levi?!” Connie exclaimed, quickly breaking the silence.
”Isn’t he a lot older than Y/N? He’s like 35 and she’s probably 17!” Jean yelled, confused.
”She’s isn’t 17, who told you guys that?!” Eld asked from the distance. “Y/N is the same age as Captain Levi y’know!”
”WHAT?!” Eren exclaimed as he stood up, shocked at the announcement.
”Yeah! And she’s not dating Levi, she’s been married to him for the past… 7 years?” Petra said as she began pondering at the thought of their marriage length.
”God fucking dammit. All of the hot ones are always taken.” Reiner muttered as he slumped in his seat unhappily.

Random Levi thought #14
He hangs every single drawing and letter his kids make. Levi keeps them all on the wall in the kitchen, anytime he is feeling down or sad, he looks at that wall to remember how far he has come, how much he is loved, how you gave him his children, and a reason to move on. Eventually when his hair is gray and he is older. He would look at that same wall again, this time hanging up a drawing his grandchildren did for him.

Fluff
When you’re exploring Marley with Levi and co., you find yourself enthralled with some new technology…
Warnings: cussing
When you and the others left for Marley, you had no idea what you were getting yourselves into. You were terrified that the outside world was going to be a vision of disaster and leave your high expectations completely unmet. However, when the boat began to dock at the port and you got a glimpse of the bustling city, you practically had stars in your eyes.
“Hange! This is so exciting! Look at all the new developments!” you gushed, taking in the foreign sights. They agreed wholeheartedly, rambling about certain things they had read about over the years that were going to be investigated today. Levi wanted to roll his eyes at your over the top excitement, but he had to admit he was very curious about life in Marley as well. As the boat started letting people off, you nervously ran your fingers over your outfit, desperately trying to straighten out the high quality fabric of your disguise.
“Are you trying to impress these people or something? Stop fussing. You look fine,” Levi said, leading the way off the boat without giving you a second glance. You looked at Hange, who just shrugged their shoulders and ran after Levi. You and the Survey Corps captain were in the newer stages of a relationship. You had known him for years, rising up the ranks together, and had shared a close bond for most of that time. Not too long ago, you both realized your relationship held the element of attraction for one another and after an awkward confession from the both of you, your deep companionship turned into a budding romance. It was all new territory for both parties, neither of you having much experience in the dating department, and the two of you were trying to figure out the right balance between your old selves and new title as lovers. You tried not to worry too much; Levi didn’t seem the type to break up with someone. If he chose to be with you in a romantic way after being your friend for so long, you’d most likely be together long after your bodies were consumed by the soil of your shared grave.
You hurried off the boat, your party waiting for you with anxiousness to get the trip started. On solid ground once more, Levi took his usual spot next to you. You smiled internally at the gesture. This relationship would have no hand holding (for the foreseeable future), but his closeness, akin to a guard dog, was better than that. Out of the corner of your eye came a flash and both of your heads whipped around to see what it was.
“Hange!” You pointed to the area from which it came, “What is that?”
“That’s a camera! It makes photographs like the one we saw in Eren’s basement,” they explained.
“So cool,” you breathed out. “What I wouldn’t give to have one.”
You suddenly found yourself being dragged over to the camera, Levi having an iron grip on the extra fabric of your sleeve.
“My partner wants one photograph, please,” he told the man working the contraption.
The man laughed a little, clearly figuring out you weren’t from the area. “One photograph, huh? That’s quite alright.” He turned to address you. “You can sit right here and pose.”
You nodded, slightly nervous but trembling with excitement as Levi handed the man the money.
“I’m going to count to three and when the flash is over, you’ll be good to go.”
You weren’t quite sure exactly what to do with your body as the man started his count but when you saw Levi watching you intently, you relaxed and broke out into the biggest smile. The flash went off and you were told to wait a few minutes for the photograph to be ready.
“Oh! Sir? May I please have one more? I would like one of my boyfriend,” you said, looking at Levi expectantly.
His eyes went wide, shaking his head. “No way. Your memory isn’t that shitty to where you’ll need one of these to remember what I look like, is it?”
You gave him the biggest puppy eyes and poutiest face you could muster. “Please, Levi? For me?”
He sighed, giving the cameraman more money. “Fine. But you have to be in it with me, brat.”
You cheered when he stood next to you, you on the seat once more, and you could tell he was nervous.
“Just relax and look at the circle in front of you. You don’t have to smile or anything if you don’t want, just think of a positive memory or place. That way it’ll look natural.”
As the man did his countdown, Levi frantically tried his best to look comfortable and right before the flash went off, he knew exactly what to do.
During your wait for the photos you heard commotion from the group about “ice cream” so of course you bounded over, Levi trailing behind you. When you got your hands on the treat, you took a big bite of it which was a huge mistake.
“It’s so cold! My teeth! Ouch!” you exclaimed, your mouth open as you tried to fan it out. Levi watched you complain to the teens that they didn’t give you a fair warning that it was freezing, a small smile on his face.
“Tch, give me that. You’re going to drop it,” he said, taking the cone from you. Learning from you the wrong way to eat it, he snuck a taste using just the tip of his tongue. It was cold, sweet, and a total waste of money—but if you liked it, he would gladly bring home the entire cart and the recipe. With plans to meet back up with everybody after you got your photographs, you and Levi headed over to the cameraman.
“That was very kind of you to let me get those taken,” you told him. “And I love that you did one with me. That means a lot, you know.”
“It’s no problem,” he muttered, eyeing every passerby so that they didn’t get any ideas of messing with you. His time in the Underground made it so that he hated being in large groups of people, crooks and crime always lurking about in those environments. He certainly didn’t want you to be swept up in any of it either, so his senses had been on high alert the entire trip. Thankfully that was the case or else right now you’d be splayed on the ground, grievously injured. Not from a criminal, but from some machine called a “car.” You two had to cross the street to get back to the cameraman but in your haste, you had forgotten there were technological advances you weren’t used to roaming around the city. You stepped off the sidewalk, chatting about something called a “balloon,” when a car came careening down the road, going much too fast for a busy pedestrian area. Levi had noticed it in the nick of time, grabbing you by your waist and pulling you out of harm’s way. He couldn’t even find it within himself to yell at the driver, too concerned for your well being.
“Are you okay?” he asked, hurriedly looking you over for injuries.
“Yeah, I’m fine, but,” you pointed sadly to the ground where your ice cream lost its life, “my ice cream isn’t.”
That earned a Levi eye roll. “Forget the food. If you keep up this carelessness, the photograph is the only thing I’ll have left of you after this trip.”
You sighed since he was right, as always. “I’m sorry.”
“Just pay attention. I’d hate for you to survive everything we’ve been through just to get taken out by some horse wannabe.”
You burst out laughing, Levi unintentionally lifting the mood. He never thought of himself as an overly funny guy but the way he had you gasping for breath after a hard hitting sarcastic remark would’ve made anyone certain he was a comedian.
The man with the camera handed you the finished products and you excitedly examined your solo one.
“Levi! Look! It’s my face!” You shoved the photograph toward him and he looked it over.
“It is, isn’t it?” he said, his voice laced with a hint of amusement and wonder. He tucked it into his hat for safekeeping (and he kept it on his person every day after that so you were always together; it had miraculously survived the blast from Zeke). When you saw the photograph of the both of you, you were at a loss for words.
“We look so… pretty. Happy. Normal.”
Levi caught a glance and hummed in agreement. He was ecstatic that his actions translated well through the camera. When the flash was about to go off, he had placed his hand on your shoulder.
“What?” you had asked him, turning away from the camera to look at him, thinking he had a question. Instead, you were greeted with steel blue eyes that were gazing lovingly at you, while Levi’s lips were curled into a soft smile. He was the epitome of handsome and you had practically melted, lovesickness etched all over your features and the camera flashed, capturing it forever.
“I’m keeping this one since you have the other one,” you said, tucking it in your chest pocket. “Me and my shitty memory want to make sure we remember this forever.”
You nudged Levi in a teasing manner and he just shook his head. Finding your way back to Hange, you felt a sense of peace wash over you that you didn’t think would be possible in foreign lands, and that was all thanks to Levi. Even if you didn’t always express your love in the most conventional ways, he proved his loyalty and trust in you time and time again. You hoped your photographs would be preserved and serve as proof that the so called island devils weren’t evil after all—they were people, too. People who could laugh and smile.
People who could love.

drabble prompt # 7- “why didn’t you say how bad it was?”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"You idiot," Levi muttered under his breath. He was beyond frustrated, how could you let this happen? How could he let this happen.
You winced as the medic prodded at your wounded arm, causing a fresh wave of pain to shoot through your body. Levi's eyes narrowed as he watched your reaction, his jaw clenched tightly.
It started on your latest expedition, you’d been fighting a particularly vicious Titan when it managed to get its hands on you. Levi, of course, was able to kill it before it could really crush you, or worse, eat you. Unfortunately it still left a hefty amount of damage, damage you kept from your worried boyfriend. So here you were, laid out and injured in your room getting bandaged up.
Once the medics left you alone, Levi was unable to suppress his frustration any longer, "Why the hell didn't you speak up about how bad it was?" he demanded, his eyes narrowing. "I can't protect you if you keep important shit like this from me."
You looked up at him. His steel blue eyes bore into yours, and you could see the worry etched into his features. Taking a deep breath, you tried to respond, your voice slightly strained.
“I...I didn't want to worry you," you admitted, a weak smile forming on your lips. "I knew you had enough on your plate."
“Don't be stupid!” his voice had an edge to it, his frustration evident in his tone. You couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt at his words. You knew that Levi was already burdened with the weight of the war and the responsibilities of being Captain. On top of that he held the title of “humanity’s strongest soldier”. The last think you wanted was to add to his worries.
“But Levi, I know how much you have to deal with, I didn't want to add to your stress. There’s no need to worry.”
Levi let out a frustrated sigh, his eyes never leaving yours. "Seriously? You think I don't worry about you? That I don't care about your well-being?"
You felt a mix of emotions wash over you. On one hand, it felt nice to hear how much your boyfriend cared about you, but on the other hand, you hated the thought of burdening him further.
“It’s not that, Levi," you tried to sit up in bed but Levi’s stern gaze kept you in place.
“Stay put," he said firmly, his voice leaving no room for argument. "You need to rest."
You sighed, realizing that there was no use in trying to fight his orders. You settled back onto the bed, giving him a defeated nod. "Alright, fine. But please, Levi, understand that I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want to add to the list of things you already have on your plate.”
Levi approached the bed, his footsteps heavy. He sat down on the edge of the bed, his tone carrying a hint of frustration. "Do you think I can't handle it? That I can't handle taking care of you? You're dead wrong."
“I never said you couldn't handle it, Levi," you retorted. “It’s not about that. I just…I hate feeling this way. You’re more capable than me and I don’t want to burden you by getting in the way.”
Levi's brows furrowed, frustration mixing with concern. “Listen, you stubborn brat," he said, his voice firm. "You're not burdening me. If something happened to you…” his voice cut off for a second as he looked away, “Just tell me next time. Don’t hide shit from me.”
You could see the genuine worry in Levi's eye. His words slowly start to sink in, “You're right, Levi," you admitted, your voice quieter now. "I shouldn't have kept it from you. We're a team, and that means being honest with each other."
Levi's gaze met yours again, his features slightly less hardened. “Good. Keeping things from me doesn’t do either of us any good. I do care about you, you’re important to me.”
A small smile tugged at the corners of your lips. You reached out and gently took his hand, squeezing it. "I know. I’m sorry. I love you and I promise I’ll do better.”
Levi looked at you. He didn't say anything for a moment, his grip on your hand tightening. Then, he leaned in closer, “You better," he replied, giving you a stern look "Because if you ever hide something like this from me again, I won't be held responsible for what I do."
You chuckled softly. "I'll keep that in mind, Captain," you teased.
Levi rolled his eyes. "Just don't forget it," he muttered, his fingers tracing over the bandages on your arm. "I can't protect you if you don't let me."
You leaned in closer, resting your head against his. "I know, Levi," you whispered. "And I appreciate everything you do for me."
Levi wrapped his arm around you, pulling you closer to him. He didn't need to say anything else, because his actions spoke for themselves. Showing you how much Levi Ackerman truly did love you.

“I’ll be okay.”
Tumblr media
It was suffocating. You were suffocating. The child in your stomach filled you with so much overwhelming joy. With so much anxiousness. You felt like you would throw up any second and it wasn’t because of morning sickness. The thought of taking care of a baby with the love of your life was exhilarating. Enough to bring a smile on your face.
But you were scared. Terrified that this baby would not bring happiness. Terrified that it would tear you away from Levi.
“Looks like you’re six weeks in ma’am. We can set up an appointment for next week to do your first ultrasound.”
You were sat up on the hospital bed. You hadn’t looked up at the doctor since your change in position. Your eyes were dull, and dark eye bags highlighted your lack of sleep.
This was supposed to be a joyous moment in your life. You were about to be a mom, well if you kept the baby that is. But all this brought was an excessive amount of emotions that gave you a headache. You loved Levi so much and you know he loved you just as much, you didn’t doubt it for a second. But there was one annoying part of you that thought that Levi would leave. That he wouldn’t want to be a father.
Of course that was entirely his choice. The question was would you keep the baby even without him there. Raise them as a single mother. You might, you’ve always wanted to be a mother. The love your parents showed you when you were young, how happy you all were as a family was an indicator enough that you wanted one for yourself, a family. This realization was like a slap in the face, a punch in the gut, but also a relief in itself.
You would do this, you would keep the baby whether Levi was there or not. No matter how much the thought of him not raising your baby together hurt you.
Imagining it now caused a hole to form in your stomach, no Levi. No father for your child. No family Halloween costumes, no family Christmas pajamas. You wouldn’t watch your child’s dance recitals or basketball games together. You wouldn’t talk to Levi about how fast time flies and how you can’t believe how much they’ve grown.
You needed to stop thinking like this, you haven’t told Levi you were pregnant. The future isn’t set and stone. But you knew whatever happened, you were going to be a mother to this baby.

Imagine : Levi Behaving With You The Same As Mikasa Does with Eren
A/n : I'm going to resume the requests now, that I have advanced a lot in Shippuden ( ep 350 )
Warning : Nope only fluff
Masterlist ⚜
I don’t give permission to repost my work, if you want to share it just reblogue it
Words count : 792
Tumblr media
It was no secret that Mikasa Ackerman had been looking after Eren since she was a child, whose father had taken her in
It was always obvious that she would have done anything to protect him and even gave her life to the dark-haired boy she had grown up with
It seemed to you that someone once mentioned that it was a component of her Ackerman genes that made her act that way
What was much less obvious and actually extremely surprising and curious was that this same dynamic was happening between you and Levi
Yes, he was the Captain of the Survey Corps, but if you remember correctly you were both corporals and he had been given that position after Erwin's death
In other words, your levels are equal. So why did he insist on protecting you like that ?
It was Armin's words. But it was another talk during a meal in the mess hall, that made you realize the situation
"Seriously you didn't notice, it's like he has one eye on you and one eye on the titans"
"Well no my two eyes are on the titans as yours should be cadet Arlert" you retorted "I'm not having you die on my watch"
He laughed nervously and apologized, even though you were messing up with him. But Mikasa cut him off and reminded you that he too was an Ackerman and that perhaps there was a connection between his behavior and the family from which he descended
As you spoke your eyes turned to the table where the captains and corporals were eating - you should have been there too but honestly the atmosphere was so much better with the cadets - and you saw his head turn towards you, a wary and disdainful look appearing on his face as he watched you
"See that's what I was talking about... but he seems preoccupied even in serene moments" continued Armin after you all turned your heads back to your plates in a very suspicious way
Since this conversation you decided to keep an eye on Levi, just like he did, to see by yourself the behavior Armin ( and pretty much all your friends ) was accusing him of
And you were not disappointed with your observations
It seemed that he always arrived at the moment when you were going to hit a titan and kill it right under your nose
But that didn't explain his behavior outside of combat during camp life or even during training
And in the evening when you are lying on your bed you think about the events of the day and the previous days
For example
You fell on a stone while sprinting and he appeared out of nowhere and forced you to follow him so that he could disinfect your wound, he didn't even let you walk alone on the way back
But the last straw was one day when you were both walking down the hallways to a meeting for a future mission and a late cadet, running to get to the meeting, bumped into you in a hallway
You didn't even fall, you just stumbled backwards from the impact
The cadet started to apologize profusely and you were about to tell him that everything was fine, but Levi, wide eyed, didn't think so and kicked him in the abdomen, yelling at him that he had to apologize to his superior from the ground
You were so shocked that you didn't dare speak up for fear of making things worse for the young recruit
But tonight, now that you were alone in the dark on your bed you couldn't help but think back
Without realizing it you were in the corridor that led to his office and knocked on the door
You didn't have the time to speak when his eyes met yours and he stood up and asked you "Is everything okay ? Is there a problem ?"
You were taken aback by his reaction
"Y-yes... "this" is actually why I came to talk to you. Levi... why don't you- erm- do you think I can't-"
As you said this your legs carried you to where he was standing
He looked at you as you approached and shushed you when he realized what you were getting at
"Not at all it's just that..." he too found himself at a loss for words "Ughh I don't know. That's just how it is I guess-"
And just like that you kissed him. Because it just felt right
He didn't seem to mind because he kissed you back
When you parted and looked at his face you swear you saw him smile and maybe even blush
Guess that you had your answer now

How the aot veterans notice that you and Levi are secretly an item...
Erwin
Let's be honest, he knew it even before you two got together. Erwin is a very observing man, hardly anything that is going on in the headquarters can get past him. The first time he noticed that something was up was when Levi started to butt in while he was doing the plans for expeditions, always sneakily trying to put you in the safest position possible. It was always "Name isn't skilled enough to be here" or "She would do better if you put her over here". Another thing he noticed is that you two started to attend meetings late with some lame excuse, he just dismissed it but enjoyed how much you both struggled to keep the act up.
However one day you two don't show up to work at all, spending all day having "fun" in Levi's room and the excuses Erwin heard the next almost made him laugh. "And where were you two?" He asked as you and Levi entered his office, his eyebrow raised. "We were busy." Levi says but he knows that it's not enough. "I was giving her private training all day yesterday." Erwin nods, not believing a single word. "Is that so? And why didn't you inform me about this?" Levi scoffs, he knows he shouldn't lie to Erwin but he can't just say that you two were fucking like rabbits the whole day yesterday. "I thought that it wasn't important." Erwin sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose at Levi's words. "For Ymir's sake just say that you two were having sex and stop with this nonsense." Your mouth drops right open at the commander's words, a slight blush creeping on your cheeks meanwhile Levi scoffs at Erwin. Guess he did not have to lie to his superior officer anymore, the cat was out of the bag anyway.
Hange
It was their number-one entertainment besides spending the whole day doing titan research. They noticed it mostly because of Levi and how his behavior would change around you. Little things like, how often he sat next to you, how close the two of you would stand to each other anytime you were next to one another. One of the biggest giveaways was Levi's hand on your lower back which suggested that the two of you were already intimate with one another. They saw you once brush a fur off his uniform jacket, that was where Hange got their confirmation. For the next few weeks, they noticed even more, on one occasion, you had your hand resting on his thigh while you two were sitting down. It took everything in them not to bug you or Levi about it that is, until they saw love bites on your neck, they couldn't help but look at your neck and that's when they had to say something. "Damn name. Someone is getting it good huh?" You start to cough at their words and Levi looks up from his tea. "What are you talking about?" Hange snickers. "Your neck, Levi isn't going easy on you is he?" "Shut the fuck up four-eyes."
Miche
He is the one who keeps his nose out of everyone's business but even he couldn't help but feel intrigued when he noticed that Levi had your scent on him one morning. "Hmm.." He would hum, finding it strange just how strong your smell on Levi was. So he waited to see if you would smell like Levi too and he got his opportunity when you sat next to him in the mass hall at dinner. He side-eyes you, you indeed had Levi's cologne on you. "Mhh..." He hums again and looks between you and Levi. "So do you two use the same shampoo and soap or?" Miche asks, looking at your reactions. "What are you japping about?" Levi asks, already annoyed that Miche is asking such a thing. "Don't play me for a fool. You two smell like each other. Why is that?" You and Levi stay quiet and the silence is enough for Miche. "Ah, I see..." He can't help but nod in approval. "Well good luck. At least know we know where Levi is taking his stress out."
Nanaba
Now....she downright catches you two making out and it was by pure accident. She borrowed a shirt from you and wanted to return it so you told her to just bring it to your room when she had the time. Bad idea. Levi was sitting on your bed, you on his lap as you kissed passionately. His hands were rubbing your back under your shirt, you moaned softly against his lips. Levi's hands move to your hips and he grinds you on top of him, you get the message, and just as you are about to pull your shirt over your head when. "Name here is your shirt back- oh..." Nanaba stood in the doorway, her eyes going wide as she saw the position you two were in. It took a few seconds to register what happened but Levi spoke before you. "Fucking...fuck off. Can't you see we are busy?" He says, his voice harsh, his hands still on your hips. Nanaba chuckles. "Alright, alright, keep on....yeah. And use protection" "Out!" Levi yells and Nanaba smiles before closing the door behind her. "....I forgot to lock the door..." You try not to laugh at the situation when you see Levi's annoyed face. "Whatever. Now let's get back to what we were starting." You smile as he resumes kissing you.

my fucking elbow!
~ levi ackerman x reader ~ tags/cw: fluff, explicit language, established relationships, canonverse. ~wc: 530
The piercing howl that rips from your throat has Levi jumping into action. Springing over his desk and across the small office, he is in the dim kitchenette a second after the cry left you. He pants as he searches for you, eyes frantically darting around the room, heartbeat quickening with each passing second until he spots you crumpled in on yourself, arms wrapped around your shaking frame, fingers gripping your elbows.
"What's happening, why are you? What's wrong?" The words spill out of him, an unfiltered stream of concern flowing between his lips.
Levi reaches you, dropping to his knees on the hard tile and grips your shoulders. He tears you upright, panic flooding his bloodstream in a cold flash. Tears line your eyes, eyebrows furrowed in pain, and teeth gritted as you hiss.
"My fucking elbow."
Levi blinks slowly, pulling away from you as the realisation sets in.
"I hit my elbow, and it really hurts." You're crying now, fat tears spilling over your cheeks as you rub your aching joint.
Levi sits back on his haunches, a smile cracking at the absurdity. You, a decorated war hero and veteran, had just screamed and carried on as if you had been fatally wounded. He had seen you rip an arrow from your thigh, patch together your slashed arm, reposition your dislocated knee without so much as a cry, and now a knock to your elbow had you seizing up and crying?!
"Stop laughing! It hurts!" you whine, weakly kicking at your laughing husband.
"I'm not laughing at you; it's just the situation," he explains, pushing your hair back from your face. "I've seen your experience worse, and this is the injury that brings you down?" it is impossible to keep the laughter from infiltrating his every word. "I'm sorry. Are you okay, my love?"
You sniff and turn away from him, still cradling your arms and sigh loudly. "You're so mean. I hope you hurt your elbow, and when you cry about this, I'll laugh at you, too!" A giggle slips through your offended facade.
Levi stands, knees popping and aching at the move against gravity and snorts at your dramatics. "I'm going to be so careful now to not hit my elbow, and you'll never get to laugh at me!"
The exchange is childish, but it feels good; it feels natural to laugh and tease in light of the world around you. These moments are few and far between, but when they do happen, you are grateful to see a side of your lover you rarely do these days. You watch as Levi turns away, walking back into his office to finish the work he had abandoned in favour of your safety, and once he is out of sight, you turn your attention back to your bruised arm. The tingling and pain have subsided, a small purple bloom, the only remnant of the torture your nervous system was under not two seconds ago; you poke the small mark to test the level of pain you would feel if you were to hit it again but are interrupted by Levi's scream from the room over.
"I just stubbed my fucking toe!"

What if Levi left the Survey Corps and ran away with you, far away. Where no one would find the two of you. Only you and him. Living life in peace and solace.
Levi quits the Survey Corps for you after the encounter with the female titan. He lost too much and many important people. He doesn’t wanna lose you too and spend the rest of his life in regret. The world he lives in is cruel. And he wants to spend the remaining time of his life with you, some place far away. Just the two of you.
Levi and you leave quietly one dawn. The sun had yet to rise. It was the perfect time. You both take whatever’s important to you and leave on his horse which he brought back with him from the Corps.
Levi and you settle in a quiet countryside much far away from the Corps or any place that might hold trouble. Move in a cottage big enough for the two of you.
Levi and you open a tea shop together. He makes tea while you bake. Sure, it’s not much, but as long as you both are together, nothing else matters to him.
Levi and you hold each other close every night. This is what he always dreamed of. Your fingers playing with his soft hair, his hands around your waist. You know he has trouble sleeping and his insomnia won’t go away in a day. But still, with you by his side every night, Levi now sleeps better than before.
Levi and you both know how cruel this world is. How uncertain and unpredictable things are. Yet, you both long for that one thing silently. Neither has the courage to bring it up. Worried what the latter might think.
Levi was the first to break the silence.
“How do you feel…about..” “About?,” You tilt your head in confusion. Nervousness swallows him whole. “Levi?”
“Starting a family.”
He wanted this for so long.
Levi while being in a relationship with you, before marrying you, would think about the possibility of you two starting a family. Having a baby. But alas, he always pushed it far in the back of his mind. The world you both live in, bringing an innocent child here? That would be selfish. He didn’t have any childhood let alone a good one. But.. would it really be selfish?
Levi is so much in love with you. He loves you so much that, he wants to share a life with you. Build a family. A family to call his own. His own precious world. Was he being selfish? Was it too much to ask for?
Levi’s heart fluttered when you said yes.
Levi would go against the world for you. You’re his world. He would give up anything and everything just to be with you, for you. The love he has for you is just incomparable to anything in this world.
This world was cruel, yet beautiful. He had you by his side. Sure the days weren’t easy, but both of you tried your best to make it to the next day together.
Levi’s heart stopped the day you told him the news. You were expecting. No, you both were expecting. It felt surreal to him. Like a dream. A very good one. Too good in fact.
Levi’s tight embrace around you expressed his happiness and the warmth he was feeling. He was holding his whole world in his arms.
Levi buried his head on your neck and pulled you closer to him, afraid to let go. He was happy, truly happy. But also scared. This was something too good to happen to him.
Levi who vowed from that day onward that he will protect you and your little one with his whole life. The world was dangerous, but he would make sure his little one doesn’t experience the same fate as him.
Levi who doesn’t let you lift a finger in your current state. Heavy lifting? Absolutely not. He’ll do that. Laundry? Done. Cooking? He’s a good cook so, don’t worry. Just lay down and rest.
Levi who always gets you your cravings no matter what time of the day it is. Be it midnight or early hours of the morning he’s always ready.
Levi who falls in love with you all over again. Watching you carry and grow his child, both of yours child is like something magical to him. It’s like you’re glowing. You had that fresh and vibrant aura that Levi can’t get enough of. You looked so so beautiful. Was it the motherhood glow or his undying love for you? Levi doesn’t know, he just knows whatever it is, he loves you so much and the life you’re carrying.
Levi who showers you with affection. Carrying a child isn’t easy. The journey was both a mixture of joy and hardship. And Levi was with you through it all.
Levi who holds you when you cry in the middle of the night because you couldn’t sleep. You wanted to, but couldn’t. Your body was so tired, but the baby wouldn’t stop kicking. He holds you against his chest, one hand intertwined with yours and the other running softly through your hair. Sometimes he would rub your belly to soothe it. And when you would fall asleep he would still be awake, making sure you’re okay. Sleep wasn’t important to him. You were. And your little one.
Levi who drops everything from his hands when he comes back home to you writhing in pain. “Levi..,” you cry out in pain. “Help…me-”
Levi who is with you during your labor. Holding your hand tightly and giving you words of encouragement and praises. “Almost there.” “You’re doing so well.” “Just a little more, I know you can do it” “you’re so strong.”
Levi who freezes when he hears the cries of his newborn.
“It’s a girl.”
Levi kisses your forehead wiping away the tears you cried and sweat you had to break to give birth to your little girl. Whispering infinite ‘thank yous’. His forehead on yours.
“I love you.”
Levi who cries for the first time after a long time when he holds his tiny little girl in his arms. She was so soft, so warm and so tiny. So delicate that he was afraid, afraid of hurting her.
Levi who melts when his baby girl coos and nuzzles into his arms. She was now someone very special and precious to him. Someone he vowed to protect with everything he had. He gently kisses her tiny forehead. “I’m so in love with you, tiny brat.”
Levi always thought he would end up alone in his life. His mother left him at an early age. Kenny didn’t stick around for long. His two closest friends died and he couldn’t do anything. And so he quit the survey corps. Because he wanted you. He wanted to spend his remaining days with you. He didn’t want to see his hands stained in the blood of his comrades and innocent youths dying.
Levi who wrapped his one arm around you while the other held his tiny little girl. Your head on his chest and you poked the little one’s cheeks. “She looks exactly like you. I love that.” And indeed she did. The little one was a copy of her father. The nose, the lips, her hair, everything. Everything except, “The eyes are yours.”
“I love your eyes.”
Levi loves you eternally. His life felt meaningless at one point to him, losing people close to him. But you brought meaning to that life. Before, Levi would only fight to live, to protect. He had a duty towards the people inside the walls. An oath to keep to Erwin. A responsibility towards his squad. But now, he fights everyday so that he can live, for you and your daughter. He fights everyday so that he can see you and your precious one. He wants to be with you. To grow old with you and watch his little one grow.
Levi wasn’t alone anymore. He has a family, someone to love and cherish for the rest of his life. He has you.
And you are all he ever wants.
I love you Levi. Happy Birthday 🍮 ᥫ᭡

Dusty-Eyed Thief
-> Levi Ackerman x Fem!Reader
Synopsis: He was a thief, she was a princess. Can I make it any more obvious?
Content Warnings: royalty!au, enemies to lovers, fluff, banter, a budding forbidden romance, class differences, strained father-daughter relationship, mild violence, very unedited
Words: 3.5k words
Author's Notes: I know the Levi fandom is dead but I wrote this so so long ago, figured I'd give it a place here
Tumblr media
The kitchen is your sanctuary. It engulfs you with its tranquility, the blaring sound of clanking pots only adding to the rhythmic routine of it all.
The steam from the cooking dishes hugs you on this cold, cold night as you weave your way through the maze of workers. You smile as you're hit with the first blend of splendid smells. You make your way further into the kitchen to find the buttery treat that's meticulously packed by Niccolo and placed beneath a hidden, faulty tile on the floor. Niccolo is truly a blessing sent from the Gods.
Despite its tranquility, it is an unusual place for a lady to spend her time, yet you frequently find yourself here – costumed in an apron, playing the part like you belong.
At first, you were naturally worried about being caught, but that only lasted for a spare few minutes as you soon grew accustomed to the sequence of it all. And you found that while dressed as a commoner, you were nearly invisible in this castle. You took full use of it, maybe to the point of misusing it.
A few workers recognise you on occasion, but they refuse to report you to the King in an attempt to protect their own peace. Arguments between you and your father elicited a barrage of petty retorts, coming in from both ends, which heavily affected the workers that were unfortunate enough to be witnessing it.
You're certain your father would not approve of your ventures, despite the peep of fondness he has reserved for you. Actually, you're convinced that it is deep disdain he holds for you; it's only been coated with fondness to suit his purposes.
You actively have to stop yourself from thinking about him; you do not want those thoughts to permeate through into your sacred space. And besides, you have to stay alert.
Applying gentle pressure on the strings, you open the package to discover that he made you some cookies today. You have to contain yourself from jumping in glee, settling for a wide grin for now.
You want to procure some milk to have with the cookies. You close the package, although not packing it fully as you place it near the nearest window. It seems safe placed in a fairly unoccupied corner of the kitchen.
As you return with the milk, a pair of hands cover your eyes. The hands are roughly placed against your eyes, and you feel out worldly for a second — blank, confused, intrigued before you push him off, digging your nails into the culprit's hand.
You hear him yelp before you catch his face, the culprit. He is a boy with dusty blonde hair. He pulls his hands back into his chest, soothing it over with his other hand.
Another deep voice reaches your ears, and you perk up, your eyes flitting over to the open window as you try to find him. Was that window always open? What is happening?
“Why do you keep making this easy for us?” The other man's voice is adorned with pure mockery.
You’ve never moved faster in your life. (Well, except for that time you were on the verge of being traded for an assassin’s payment.) You rush up close to the window, looking down before you see him, he's standing on… you're not sure. He seems to be standing on thin air, but you know that is not the case.
Your eyes flit over to his blue eyes; you find hints of green in them as you stand there for a second, just staring at him. You're not sure what to do. He's probably a thief, a thief with pretty eyes. As you stare you think his eyes might be green, although you conclude a moment later that it could be a play of light. You can't tell if his eyes are green or blue.
He’s handsome too; you made that conclusion as soon as you saw the rest of his face, and you curse yourself for thinking that when you’re literally in front of a thief that has stolen your only source of joy. He's standing beneath you, but he holds a gaze that makes you feel like you're being towered by him; he seems a bit intimidating. Instinctively, you mold your eyes to mirror his, sharpening them as you were taught, as you practice.
You feel liquid trickling down your hand, and you realize you’ve dropped your milk. You only make note of it when feeling his eyes trail down.
You immediately rush to squat down to pick up the broken pieces of glass; you do not wish for any of the kitchen staff to get into trouble, although you are certain they will when they have to tally up the kitchenware by the end of this week. You make a quick note to discreetly pay Hange to buy it and replace it for you.
In your haste and state of disorientation, you prick your hand against the pointy edge of a fallen piece. And you instantly curse yourself.
"PRINCESS," Niccolo yells out to you, and your identity is out within mere seconds. You can guarantee Niccolo would have been more discreet if the situation hadn't been so strenuous. You look down and see a tinge of vermillion seeping out of the cut in your hand.
You look up to catch a glimpse of the two men, who appear to be leaving amidst the chaos. You see them in your peripheral sight, but you’re too late by the time you turn to look, all you witness is a retreating figure, making it out the window with a swift leap.
You are waiting for the sound – his body hitting the ground, broken bones, anything.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five seconds, and still nothing. You scramble to the window, only to see trees and utensils that are washed and stacked on a white cloth left to dry under the scorching sun.
“It’s the princess, get the doctor," a couple of kitchen staff make it to your side.
There’s an immediate sense of panic seeping out from within you. You’re certain your father is going to make your life difficult if he were to find out, which would happen if you were to be tended by the palace doctor. The prickling sensation grows; you need to see a doctor. You decide you’ll deal with it.
You’re also plagued with a sudden sense of intrigue. You can’t place it quite well, not at this moment, but you want to know what the color of his eyes were. You want to ask him why he stole your food but also, you want to be him. In most ways, it's all you've yearned for. You want to leap out that window and disappear into nowhere, wherever that is.
You run straight towards the arriving horses. You're greeted with a smile and a frown. You focus on the smile, one that adorns your brother’s face, giving him a quick hug before you move to face the frown. "I heard about your little culinary mishap, my dear. To make reparations, you are to attend the ballroom event tomorrow evening, and you must ensure that you do not flee as you have done these last several times that you believe I have not noticed," your mother’s voice is stern, declaring it as finality.
You decidedly agree, knowing you will find ways to leave halfway through the event, and she will ignore it as she always does. For, unlike your father, she does not believe you to be the bane of her existence.
"Now, come here and give me a hug, my lovely and incredibly irritating daughter," as though she was reading your mind and cementing your notions about her.
You reach your arms out to embrace her. You place your chin towards the crevice of her neck and you’re hit with the smell of rose and iris, maybe even amber. It smells distinctly the same as when she embraced you after the first of your many disagreements with your father. You remember how you kept a straight face during the altercation, but immediately broke down at the sign of him finally leaving, only to find comfort due to her presence.
“I shall arrive at the stupid ballroom floor and I shall look pretty doing it. I shall catch the eye of every person in the room and you will forgive me for any mishaps I will ever commit. Won’t you, mother?”
“You’re to catch the eye of every person at a secret debutante, are you?”
“Debutante? Why is it a secret?”
“It’s a secret for it adds an element of sincerity, does it not? Your brother can court an honest woman.”
“I hardly think any woman’s honest in a society that is designed against the very notion of honesty, and especially not in a room that is swarmed with eyes waiting for any acts that are even slightly misplaced. But, I do wish you the very best, brother.”
“Thank you for your wishes. If opportunity permits, we may even find someone for our dear older sister. You’ll be next in line for picking then. Isn’t that ever-so enthralling to hear?”, the mockery reaches your ears crisply. Maybe much too crisply, because you find your mother glaring up at him.
You laugh at that, knowing that you are within the shields of the walls of your castle, but most importantly with your mother.
“I implore you to take your time, brother. You will need it to court for a suitable wife, would you not?” You try to hide your obvious nervousness at the breach of a topic you have been avoiding for much of your life.
“I suppose you are right, sister,” he looks down at you with a reassuring smile.
You do not want to be tied down by marriage any time soon. You have yet to process the fact that this is not your forever home. Your forever home is beside a man that sees you as a china piece to display, apparently. But you find brief solace in the fact that you come from the most reputable family in this kingdom and you will not be disrespected in any form, for it would not bode well for them.
The ball is the pinnacle of opulence. It's primarily filled with tones of rose gold, complementing the white and golden hues of your ballroom. You sense the presence of grey and teal amongst the crowd; you presume they're worn by accolades to instate their titles. The royal family, on the other hand, is required to constantly stand out, which is why you find yourself snug in a golden embroidered gown.
You suspect your mother has overstepped the mark with her preparations. You move the curtain that separates you from the ballroom slightly to catch a glimpse of her. Her strong and ethereal countenance reveals little about who she is, simply asserting that she should be feared and admired in equal measure.
You think of your sister’s tales of a knight in shining armor that might have reached you, if only for a fleeting moment, it’s enough for you to believe that maybe you could find a man who is respectful, charming, and filled with the tender ache to cherish you and only you, always. It only lasts for a transient moment of weakness. You’re drawn back to reality when your sister reaches for your arm and loops it with her own.
"You look absolutely lovely," she remarks, as a matter of fact, whilst sporting a sweet smile. "Who are you, and what have you done to my unlovely wretched sister?"
"Very amusing," you quip promptly as if it's habitual to do so.
"Sister, if you were to stray away early this evening, I certainly would not ask for you to procure some pastries. Although, I would most definitely not mind them after a night as strenuous as this.”
“Only if you help me escape”
“I wouldn’t expect anything less,” she quips letting go of your hand. She has a faint smile on her face as she straightens her posture. And just like that, she transforms herself to be the elegant first daughter of the King, the one every maiden in the kingdom is taught to be like.
“You look radiant, sister. I’m sure there isn’t a man in this kingdom who wouldn’t fall head over heels to court you, and yet again, I implore you to take your time. I’m not saying this for my sake, not this time at least. I hope you find a kind man, the one you always told me you wished for” You try to smile, but it is hard to ignore the bleak truth that’s hidden within your words.
“Thank you for saying that” She seems to sense it too but her smile doesn’t waver; in fact, it grows, as though your words made a difference to her. That would be a first. You too can’t help but genuinely smile.
After about an hour of dancing and chatting away with people, you find that it would not be that hard for you to escape all on your own. You’re not the first diamond of a daughter or the most eligible bachelor of this season. You’re the second daughter and fourth child of the royal family that people will worry about impressing next season.
To not frighten your sister, you make it through the swarm of men waiting for their turn to dance with her; you inform her that you will take your leave, as discreetly as you can. You meet your mother’s eyes one last time before you leave. Every single time you escape you try to meet her eye, just to catch her when she sees you leaving but somehow you’ve never caught her.
You make your way to the kitchen, briefly showcasing your teeth to perform the act of duplicating a smile at every passerby that meets your eyes. There are a lot of people. You're frankly exhausted and your head is throbbing. Maybe some tea will help with the ailment.
You know that there won’t be kitchen staff present there since there is an exclusive kitchen for events as grand as this since it requires a massive scale of utensils.
You make it and it is murky. You reach out for the candle holder, placed at the entrance. You wince at the coldness of the brass. It holds three candles. You light all three of them, with muscle memory.
"Is your hand okay?", you hear the same deep voice and you frantically look around to spot him.
"Where are you?"
"Princess," you hear from behind you. This is honestly more frightening than the stuff you've read from your brother's atrocious shelf of literature.
You compose yourself. You will not falter and show weakness in front of a thief. "You are to greet me with respect. I am of the royal family," you punctuated every last word.
"I called you princess, didn't I?", he walks over to face you eye to eye, face to face.
"Gray'', you blurt out. You blurt it out far too quickly to calculate the embarrassment it would cause you. You feel it but you don't show it. It's one thing being part of a higher society has taught you.
His eyes are a stark sterling gray and that was rather unexpected to you. You thought about it extensively, maybe too extensively for the last two days. You concluded and expected it to be either green or blue.
His eyes remind you so much of thunderstorms. You happen to like them. They're distinctly heavy in color, but there's a variation that resonates something akin to…gentleness?
You're not why you're focusing much too much on his eyes, but they are beautiful and you could stare at them all day and night if you were allowed to. Maybe that's not an exaggeration.
"What?" he blurts out, rather confused. His eyebrows are bunched together like he's trying so hard to make sense of what you said. You refuse to bring ruin to your already faltering dignity, so you ignore the questions altogether to make room for your many questions.
You do not like not knowing things, not having reasoning for things. It bothers you immensely, for everything has a reason, does it not?
"Why are you here? Why were you here yesterday? Why did you steal my food? Do you do that often? How did you survive the jump?” Not giving him time to interject, you continue with your ramblings. “I have been thinking about what you said to me yesterday and it came to my attention that you implied this act of yours happens often. If so, why?"
This person bores a blank statement to their face. Either his facial features are impaired or he’s blatantly disrespecting you.
"You will answer me," you beseech him to answer. No, you're insistent. He doesn't budge, so you assemble all of your memories of your mother's severe glances to replicate it. You demand.
"Yes, I do it frequently, and no, I'm not answering the rest of your questions." You wait for a few seconds to see if he would budge. He does not.
"What motivates you to steal anyway?"
He stares, "Why was a princess like yourself dressed in a commoner's clothes?"
"I inquired first."
"I think you're more interested in my response than I am in yours." His eyes glint as he ever so slightly smirks, "Would you really like to play this out?"
"Very well. Just wanted some sweets really.” His mouth twitched upwards at the sight of you losing your temper. What a haughty man. “Does that answer satisfy you enough to answer mine?”
"Okay, princess.” He tilts his head a little when he mentions your title, it doesn’t sit right with you. And his tone is only a little condescending, you ignore it.
“Well, go on.” You urge.
"I was stealing food for my fellow people. The cookies were quite delicious. We thank the royal family for their utmost generosity," he says. His face is blank as you’re left baffled. You don't have time to be annoyed by his obvious mockery for something that could be seen as trivial as your long-gone cookies, for you find the way he said it interesting, to say the least.
"What do you mean?"
"Hmm? Dunno, we wanted something to sweeten the whole meal of dust and dirt we had for lunch. Do you get it now?” For the first time, there’s a hint of annoyance with you.
“I’m sorry. I–” You pause, your posture slackens for the first time today. “I don’t understand.”
His brows raise, but his face remains blank. “Yeah, I don’t expect anything else from a ditzy princess with all of her dresses and her little castles.”
You cinch your brows, “I am not ditzy,” you enunciate every single word of that sentence.
You only get a little dumb when you’re angry really and you’re trying not to get there right now as you force yourself to breathe through your nose. For some reason, you feel the need to prove you’re smart and capable. It’s odd, this may be the first time you have felt this way. You don’t generally feel someone asking for more of you. They expect you to be ditzy, not the opposite. “And we only have 3 castles…” Your voice trails out as he stares back at you. You said the wrong thing, you know how shallow you sound. You think his eyes must be hurting with the way he seems to narrow them down in judgment, every time you seem to speak.
“Well, since you seem to have 3 castles. You wouldn’t mind if we decided to take a small share of what you have, would you?”
“I don’t mind, I didn’t— I don’t— Uh—” You hear a noise, someone’s outside the door. You swivel your head to look.
No one. Nothing. An empty corridor is all that meets your eyes.
You sigh as you turn back, only — you see nothing. Your eyes squint around skimming the dimly lit kitchen. It’s almost like you were talking to a ghost of a man. Only the plain utensils and leftover food seem to be proof of his existence.
You blink in confusion, your heart racing as you search the dimly lit kitchen for any sign of the gray-eyed man. "What in the world..." you mutter to yourself.

Random Levi thought #12
Loving Levi is suffering in silence. His love isn't him pining over you, giving you gifts, trying to win you over. It's silent, yet so loud. It's him always making you tea whenever he makes himself one, it's him always making sure that your gear is functioning properly, it's him always telling you to be careful before a mission but it's never him to tell you the words that lay in his heart. He will never tell but you'll know it. That's the part that hurts the worst because it's duty before love.

Snowball Fights and Sleepless Nights
Levi Ackerman x gn!reader
Fluff
Your snow day gets a surprise visit from Levi!
Warnings: cussing
A/n: I wrote a chapter in my Levi x reader series about the snow and it inspired me to write something else because it’s such a fun idea so please enjoy this one shot!!
When you opened your eyes, it was eerily quiet. Usually the castle had some sort of activity going on, whether it was people marching up and down the halls or soldiers yelling outside during training. You got out of bed but before you got dressed, something outside your window caught your eye. There were snowflakes falling everywhere, coating the castle and its grounds, leaving a beautiful white sheen everywhere you looked. You couldn’t wait to go outside and relish the quiet calm of a snow day. Tugging on your clothes, you raced out into the cold. The immediate blast of cool air on your exposed skin felt more refreshing than agonizing, though your tired bones could’ve used a day out of the elements. You and your squad had been training nonstop for the past week and you planned to rest today, your off day, but you couldn’t resist the weather’s allure. You peeked around to make sure no one was there. Seeing nobody, the coast was clear. You smiled a little at your luck before lying down, the plushness of snow comforting your body. You were high enough in rank, a lieutenant, that you needed to retain self respect and a sense of authority in all aspects of your life but you’d be damned if you couldn’t let loose a little to make a snow angel in these perfect conditions. You fanned out your arms and legs, scraping the snow away from your body to get the shape to look just right. As you moved your limbs around, you realized just how worn out your body really was. You stopped moving, your snow angel probably looking alright by now, and you closed your eyes. The sun was barely peeking through the dark clouds but it was enough to make you sigh dreamily, basking in the barely there rays of light. You definitely would’ve fallen back asleep if it weren’t for gentle hands and a scared voice pulling you from your relaxed state.
“L-lieutenant! Are you alright?”
You knew that to be Armin Arlert’s panicked voice. You opened your eyes to see you were surrounded by the group of teens who did everything together, faces all contorted in some sort of panic. Armin relinquished the grip he had on your shoulders, afraid of getting in trouble for putting his hands on a superior now that it was confirmed you weren’t hurt or dead.
“What are you guys talking about? I was making a snow angel,” you grumbled, feeling embarrassed that these soldiers, who were supposed to look up to you, were literally looking down at you. You stood up, swiping the leftover snow off your body.
“We saw you lay down and not get back up so we had to check if you were hurt,” confessed Sasha.
“Well, thanks for your concern, everyone. I appreciate it.” Before you could slink away and hope they never spoke of this situation, an idea came to mind. A silly idea, one that should probably never see the light of day, but these kids had been through so much and deserved to have some fun for once. “Have you guys ever been in a snowball fight?”
Those words were what led to the dire situation in front of you. Your snow fortress had been taking hits from all sides and you were running low on ammo (snowballs). You didn’t know how much time you had left before getting bulldozed with snowballs but you weren’t going down without a fight. Baring your teeth, you came out of your hiding spot, fully prepared for an onslaught. However, when you stood up, you saw the teens running around with each other, grins and laughs a plenty and you felt your heart warm. You were glad you suggested this, even if you did just get pelted in the face by Eren while you were lost in your thoughts. You hoped this feeling of peace could last forever.
“Oi! Brats! What the hell are you doing?”
Your captain’s voice rang through the now deathly quiet area. The kids immediately dropped the snow from their hands and saluted Levi, as did you.
“It’s a snowball fight, sir,” you spoke up, “I suggested it as a fun activity for a job well done these past few days. It’s also proving useful in promoting camaraderie amongst soldiers and tactical planning.”
Levi’s eyes bore into your own. “Tch. Cut the bullshit, Lieutenant. You’re all being too damn loud. Finish up quietly or you’ll be on stable duty for the foreseeable future.”
You fought the urge to roll your eyes. “Yes, sir,” you replied, an unenthusiastic tone to your voice. You were lucky Levi considered you something of a friend or else you’d probably be in bigger trouble.
“Alright everyone, this is our final stand. Make it count,” you addressed the teens and they nodded in agreement. Snowballs were flying around you and you were losing sight of your opponents. You saw Conny show up to your right and you prepared the perfect snowball to take him down. As you let it slide from your hands, you realized you made a grave miscalculation. You felt the world slowing down around you and your life flashed before your eyes. You knew this was it, your life was about to end. When the snowball exploded on the back of the unsuspecting person, everyone froze up like they had been in the cold for too long. You had accidentally thrown the snowball at Captain Levi. He had stopped walking at the moment of impact and you almost fell to your knees to start your begging of not being sent to the cells for punishment.
“Captain! I’m so sorry, I-.” You were at a loss for words. Levi reached behind him, taking some of the snow off his cape and inspected it in his fingers. You held your breath when his gaze met your own. As he started walking toward you, you knew this was the end. The kids could barely watch, afraid of what was going to happen to their favorite lieutenant. When his hand landed on your shoulder, you heard Sasha let out a scared yelp. Your breath was almost becoming ragged. Was he going to hit you? Kick you? Berate you ‘til the sun went down-
“Heh.”
Your eyes went wide. Did he just… laugh? The slight upward curl of his lips meant it wasn’t a humorless laugh either. The teens didn’t know what to do. Their jaws hung open, ears not believing what they heard.
“Did you all see how Lieutenant Y/N threw the snowball? Judging by the impact I felt, they used their body weight, not just their arms, to throw it. This game would’ve been over a lot sooner if you all had done that as well.” He released his hand from your shoulder and went inside. You couldn’t process what just occurred. He praised you? He laughed?! Maybe he did like you more than he let on. Your ragtag group didn’t know what to do after that.
“I think I’m gonna go inside,” said Jean, and everyone agreed in unison, still unsure of what happened. They were glad they didn’t get in trouble but it would’ve made a lot more sense than whatever it was they witnessed. You felt that was the best thing to do as well, embracing the little warmth the stone castle held. You headed to the dining hall for a warm drink, the chill finally catching up to you. While you were there, you figured you should make Levi some tea as a sign of good faith. You had observed him making it enough to where you knew exactly how he liked it. You balanced both cups in your hands and made your way to his office, just in case he was there. You knocked on the door and found it empty, to which you weren’t surprised. You knew exactly where he would be as your steps brought you to your own office where you spotted him sitting at your table.
“Captain! I didn’t expect to find you here.”
That was kind of a lie. He spent most of his time there, actually. You didn’t know why he didn’t do much of his work in his own office, but you didn’t care. You liked his company and even though he didn’t talk too much, he was a nice companion to have to not feel so lonely. You didn’t want to scare him off or make him feel like a burden if you mentioned you knew he would be there.
“I like your office the best,” he muttered, gratefully taking the tea you offered him. He took a sip and didn’t have a look of disgust on his face so you took that as a sign you made it halfway correctly. You sat near him with your own warm cup, taking a sip of your drink and sighing.
“I’m sorry I started a snowball fight and then hit you with a snowball, especially in front of our soldiers. I really didn’t mean to,” you said. He was quiet for some time before speaking.
“It’s fine. Really. I don’t condone childish behavior but they were having fun for once.” He took another sip. “You’ve got a good arm. If you work on your aim I might even call you talented.”
You let out a soft chuckle at his teasing. A comfortable silence washed over the two of you as you sat side by side, watching the snow fall from your window.
“What was that thing you were doing this morning? When you laid in the snow,” Levi suddenly asked.
“Hm? Oh, I was making a snow angel. It’s not difficult but I can teach you sometime, if you want,” you told him. The captain didn’t say anything but the slight softening of his face meant he heard and appreciated your offer. When you both finished your drinks, Levi took the empty cups back to the dining hall while you finally got the rest you craved, feeling yourself drift off into sleep.
You eventually woke sometime during the night, the moon high in the otherwise dark sky. After your long nap you knew you weren’t going to be able to sleep for a while so you resorted to quietly wandering the halls. Unsurprisingly, Hange’s office was lit up. They usually worked all hours of the day, never adhering to a normal timetable like the rest of the Scouts. You were interested to hear about the titan research they were working on so you knocked on the door, hoping they would hear you. You heard soft, calculated footsteps coming your way which was odd because Hange was known to be loud and clumsy. The door opened and you were greeted by the handsome face of your captain, not the bespectacled face of your closest friend.
“Oh! Levi! Sorry to bother you, I’m sure you’re working. Is Hange in there?”
“No. But you can come in anyway,” he said, letting you in and closing the door behind you. He sat down while you lingered at the bookshelf, pulling out whatever looked interesting. When you went to take a seat to start reading, you got a good long look at Levi’s face and he looked worse for wear.
“What?” he asked sharply, all too aware you were staring at him.
“Did I interrupt you sleeping? I can leave if I’m bothering you,” you sheepishly said.
He groaned lightly, pushing his hair out of his face. “No, that’s the problem. I’ve been trying to sleep but my shitty brain won’t let me.”
You had suggested another warm drink or just closing his eyes to rest, but he had tried both things and nothing helped to calm his thoughts. All of a sudden you came up with another bright idea.
“Okay, I have something that might help, but it requires going outside. Are you up for it?”
Levi looked at you quizzically, completely unsure what you were up to. Eventually he let out a resigned sigh. “What the hell. Let’s go.”
“Oi! What the hell?!”
Those were the words that left Levi’s mouth when you grabbed his arm and yanked him to the cold ground.
“We’re making snow angels,” you said, a big grin on your face.
“What we’re making are fools of ourselves,” he said while glaring at you.
“When I was out here earlier doing this, I was ready to pass out because it was so relaxing. It’ll be even more so with a view like this.” You pointed to the full moon. Levi rolled his eyes but he waited for further instruction.
“It’s easy. All you do is move your arms up and down and your legs in and out, like you’re doing jumping jacks. When you’re done, you should be slightly exhausted and out of breath from the cold. Then, you’ll feel completely at peace.”
Levi watched you first, then attempted on his own. He felt ridiculous, silly, and downright ashamed that he went along with your foolish plan. But then, miraculously, he started to feel something else. His eyes grazed over the trees, branches plump with snow. He took in the smells of the fresh winter air, his nostrils slightly stinging from the cold. He observed the moon in its fullest phase, admiring the craters and basking in its bright light. Finally, he turned his head and saw you. You had a lazy smile on your face as you made your snow angel and it looked like you didn’t have a care in the world. Levi knew that couldn’t be further from the truth, but he knew he was lucky to share in your joy, however brief it might be. All of these things combined led Levi into a state of bliss he didn’t know was possible. Sure, his ass was freezing from lying in the snow, but it added to the experience. Besides, you were right there next to him—what more could he ask for? For once in his life, he let his body go lax as he let the snow envelop him. Though Levi was always quiet, you hadn’t heard a sarcastic comment from him for a few minutes so you looked over to make sure he was still there. Lo and behold, your captain was in the same spot you left him, but he looked about 10 years younger. The moonlight highlighted his cheekbones and made the snowflakes in his jet black hair look like they were dancing. His eyes were closed and his chest rose and fell steadily, a sign that his breathing was controlled. Did you make the right decision bringing him out here? Was Levi actually… relaxed? You could’ve screamed for joy if it wasn’t the middle of the night. You noticed your outstretched hands were almost touching each other. What you wouldn’t give to hold his hand right now. Maybe you could brush pinkies to quell your yearning heart? You could totally play that off as an accident. You turned your eyes back to the sky and moved your hand over the slightest bit. No contact yet. A little further…
You were touching him.
Your pinkie barely rested against his own and you were bracing yourself for the time when Levi would pull away and you’d have to explain your actions. Luckily for you, that time never came. You were relieved, albeit confused that he didn’t yank his hand away from yours. He was probably asleep, that’s why. You turned to him for the umpteenth time that night and what you saw made your lungs lose air and your knees would’ve buckled if you were standing—Levi was smiling. Not a huge smile, by any means, but it was miles away from the frowns and grimaces he wore on the daily.
“Thank you for bringing me out here,” he practically whispered, steel blue eyes glistening.
“Thank you for trusting me,” you replied, equally as gentle. You didn’t know how it happened or who initiated it, but seconds later you felt your pinkies intertwine. In that moment, your feelings for each other became as crystal clear as the icicles on the castle.
