ik a lot of popular lesbian/bi/sapphic artists that are floating around now are mostly white so here's a handful of great black lesbian and bi women who make music <3
In case anyone has been wondering where I've been the past few months (no one has been wondering):
I got completely obsessed with MIKA after Eurovision and have spent all my fandom time since then catching up on everything he's done the past 15 years which is… a lot it turns out.
If you (like me) are from a country that only knows him for a few hits from his first album (Grace Kelly, Lollipop, Relax Take it Easy), please do yourself a favour and check out his other stuff.
The very short version is that he is still an amazing musician, a gay icon, an incredible live performer and much more.
My favourite thing about his songs are his meaningful and (sometimes too) relatable lyrics which I might make a separate post about.
Anyway if you are a fellow Mikafreak and want to ramble about him, please send me a message!
Shawn Mendes call-in interview on Zane Lowe June 12, 2023
After he released "WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DYING FOR ?" single on June 9.
He's so smart, especially at his young age. I wish Zane would've let Shawn just talk and let the moments breathe more. I bet he would've let us in on his thoughts even more than he was. But anyways, it was still a great interview.
An observation I made:
When listing off what the song is about he lists:: 1. his relationships, 2. career, and then after a little pause he says 3. the Canadian/NY wildfires and 4. the environment. I find this interesting because what I've learned from a human behavior analyst is that, when people list things off the top of their head, they tend to list the most important things first. I believe this song was mostly abut his love relationship and his career, and then purposed it further for the intense wildfires. Shawn was recording in upstate NY, which was intensely effected from the wildfires that originated from his home country, Canada. It also created a fantastic opportunity to use the metaphors of being unable to speak (there's things he just wants to say, but can't for some reason) and he will 'choke' if he attempts to leave the relationship/career. They're too important to him that if he makes the attempt to leave. Perhaps it's even about how his romantic relationship effects his career. Who do you love so strongly you would die for them?
One of his best quotes entire time, another reasons why I’m still long term Glambert of his while only love him as a musician and how underrated he is as a human being. One of best multi talent LGBT musician that has existed along with George Michael and others, he got all the time in the word continue live his life and sharing his talent.
Happy 41th birthday, King Of Pop aka Adam Mitchel Lambert ✨🎇🌈🏳️🌈
Hi! I have a new song that I released that I’d really like to get out there! Even if you only listen to it once I’d really appreciate it, or even just a reblog :)
