anyways i remember when s2 ofmd was announced on the same day as the verdict against amber heard was delivered, the first day of pride month, finding that she “defamed” her husband by truthfully stating that she was an abuse victim (without even naming him). in part because he abused her bc she was bisexual and he weaponized her sexuality against her, as abusers and homophobes do. I remember seeing half my dash—consisting mainly of other bi women who have survived abuse—in despair and retraumatized due to how the whole country had celebrated in the abuse of this woman. (who btw was the perfect victim—ie pretty lil white girl—in ways many of us are not, which only made it that much more demoralizing) and then turning to the trending tags on tumblr and finding another massive part of the lgbt community who could not care less about us as they celebrated their gay slaveowning pirate show getting renewed. trending number one. without even a word of grace or compassion for bi members of the community

so yeah. I feel kind of vindicated that this show got canceled

Oh lord, people’s mental gymnastics both terrify and intrigue me. Y’all know what time it is: UPDATE TIME!!

So, as most of you know, spent all my money moving me and my cat to New Zealand/Aotearoa, right? As a result, I landed us at a beach hostel for free in exchange for helping out around the place until we get on our feet

The owner is literally a tv antagonist, mostly because he’s not even the owner but a societal dropout who lives here for free and is in charge while the real owners move overseas

He’s got one eye practically missing, ain’t nothing wrong with that on a normal day but in terms of aesthetic he simply just looks like a villain

Well, he’s creepy to a fault. Absolutely inappropriate towards women. Practically only hires women to live and work here, except for a few lucky exceptions here and there (ohh it doesn’t feel lucky though)

I got this lovely red-headed backpacker as my roommate and she ended up being the absolute object of his attention

He literally took her to a secluded beach and said to her, and I quote, “You know, I could kidnap you and force you to never leave here and you’d never make it out again.”

On top of that, every day, the comments got frighteningly more sexually-charged

Now, I’m in the kitchen and she comes out one morning after driving somewhere with him the day prior and deadass says she needs to leave ASAP, as in like, the next morning

Naturally I help her organise it (taxis, buses, trains etc) since were rural, don’t have a car, and there’s no one else around

She’s worried he’ll get violent once he finds out so I promise to cover her in the morning while she leaves

Now I go down after she’s well and truly gone and told the guy that she’s flown back home (not true she’s a few hours away) and HE TREATS IT LIKE A BREAK UP?? LIKE, HE’S REALLY PISSED OFF AND SCORNED ABOUT IT??? SHE WAS BARELY HERE A WEEK???

Get this conversation we had while working yesterday:

Him: Why would she do that to me?? I mean, you know I’m such a nice, giving and generous person. I literally went above and beyond for her.
