Online birthday party invite (old)
My fiance, Zachery, needed an easily distributed party invitation for their birthday party last year and this is what I came up with. Fun, super bold, chaotic, tons of fun.

Lauri Carleton was an active ally for the LGBT community and she was murdered for displaying and defending the pride flag outside her store in California on Friday night (8/18/23)
Carleton, who preferred to be called “Lauri,” is survived by her husband and nine children in a blended family. She owned and operated the Mag.Pi clothing store in Cedar Glen. The unincorporated community in the San Bernadino Mountains is roughly 60 miles (96 kilometers) east of downtown Los Angeles.
An LGBTQ group in nearby Lake Arrowhead said Carleton didn’t identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, but spent time helping and advocating for everyone and was defending her Pride flags placed in front of her shop on the night of the shooting.

I have honestly never ran into the non binary community organizer named sock who mentions their chronic illnesses when their roommate asks them to do the dishes. Lgbt people who keep that meme floating around are such losers/would be those kinds of people if it was socially acceptable😭like are the sjws in the room with us rn..my last roommate was a sex worker who worked at an extremely bougie coffee shop who told me she thought Uniqlo was for poor people and she ended up marrying the owner of the coffee shop and she now talks to me like I’m a sick puppy anytime I run into her bc we have mutual friends

Good Omens Fic Rec: Ink Blots and Forget-Me-Nots
Ninth Circle Ink was hardly more than a stone’s throw from the flower shop; Aziraphale knew from past experience that it took less than thirty seconds to go from door to door (forty-five if you had to wait for a car to pass). It had been a perfect arrangement in the beginning, when they were just starting out. Owning a flower shop across the street from your boyfriend's tattoo parlor is fun and adorable. Owning a flower shop across the street from your ex-boyfriend's tattoo parlor? Not so much.
Length: 42,373 Words
AO3 Rating: Teen and Up
Best for: Safe in Public, Slow Burn, Slight Angst, Human AU
Triggers: None
Read it here, fic by gutsandglitter
*Minor Spoilers* This story was written in 2019 but reading it now after season two...hm..extra ouch. In this Human AU, Crowley and Aziraphale were together for 14 years before separating and still own shops across from each other. The perspective changes from present to past and we slowly learn what happened to them. It's devastating at times, learning something from their history and then coming back to Aziraphale's present day heartache. It's so heavy on him. It's primarily an Aziraphale point of view, yet you'll still be able to pick up on Crowley's feelings very clearly. Of course Aziraphale misses all the signs, it's a fanfic after all. No romance brain cells allowed here folks.
Internalized homophobia is one of our main themes here. It's something all of us LGBT people know intimately, and I'm sure we've all had experiences that mirror Aziraphale's and Crowley's in this. Fear, shame, having to hide, being hidden. It's heartbreaking but cathartic to read a story that knows this feeling and doesn't villainize Aziraphale for his actions here. He may blame himself, but the story doesn't.
It's not all gloom though! The present day is filled with scenes with The Them, Anathema, and Madame Tracy that I really enjoyed. I love Adam's matchmaker schemes and how it never goes to plan. In the past, the original character of Elsie was one of my favorite parts of the entire story. She was the original owner of the shop Aziraphale now runs and becomes family to our boys. It was such a wonderful and heartfelt found family story line to go along with their new found family in the present. While there is a lot of heartache in this story, there is also so much love!
Completely safe in public. It'll break your heart a bit, but it's ends on a very good note and I wouldn't classify this as angst. Slight angst yeah, but it's not depressing. Well....2004 is a bit depressing....good luck with 2004....

7/14/23 a pretty rough day for us plushies are supporting our owners. basically our owner's mom knows our owners are apart of the LGBT+ and that our owners are on Testosterone amd she was not happy. we wants us to move out. we are okay tho will update you. started the morning relaxing outside with our owners. i was with them today. we went shopping with our rehabilitation specialist to get some supplies at the dollar store. after that we went to our local shelter to get info so if she does kick us out suddenly we have a bed. we're worried but our mom said she might let us stay till our supportive housing gets available - Knightly

A recently opened Christian ministry coffee shop in Colorado has been the subject of protests and vandalism due to the parent organization's biblical stance on sexual sin.
Since its opening last month, The Drip Café, a Christian-owned coffee shop ministry in Denver, has been targeted by protesters over its belief that homosexuality is sinful.
Owner Jamie Sanchez believes the Denver Communists and other LGBT protesters were triggered by Scripture on the website of his coffee shop's parent nonprofit, Recycle God's Love, which ministers to the local homeless population.

Anyone know anything about this Tumblr User (or his petition)???
got followed by a guy I didn't recognize who liked three of my posts, which isn't too bad, but he messaged me out of the blue.
I check his account, and he says he is a refugee in kenya who is trying to support lgbtq rights for himself and others. he has one reblogged post of lgbt art, and then some original posts. One of presumably himself and another man in pride merch, a ruined building that he says was ranmsacked by homophobes, and then a fundraiser. I don't think there's anything else although I already blocked him so there could be one more post i'm forgetting. regardless, few posts. okay, i think. I go to the petition. check it out, maybe reblog. the petition is run by a man in sccotland who suspiciously has the same last name Jones, when "Joe" is the FIRST name of the guy who messaged me, which seems odd to me? The description is written in first person from the man who messaged me, saying that they need food and water. The man in scottland says he is supposedly sending them these donations. Through...something. He doesn't clarify how he knows this guy, just, "a friend", or how he's sending the money, or if he knows any actual teams or orginizations who are doing work on the ground. there is not a single donation. not one. I check the tumblr account again. the profile picture and banner are just...generic pictures of "people in africa" that you see online a lot, although the banner is cut so you can't see faces. the profile photo is some kids(?) and isn't centered on any one person.
he keeps linking a paypal of a "shop owner", who I assume is, of course, the scotish guy running the petition.
He's following a lot of people, most of whom I also, again, do not recognize. it is still possible that this is legitimate, but it seems incredibly suspicious to me, so if anyone else has further information on it I'd love to hear your two cents. Regardless, this is the account in question: both for anyone who can confirm information and also just so you can recognize it if you see it around.
Tumblr media
For now though, since it's giving big scam vibes, I'm blocking him just in case, making this post, and leaving it there for awhile. Thanks to anyone who knows more about it

Big The Owl House Ramble
Season 3, ep 1 spoilers and lots of criticism about where the show is going.
Well... I'm sad to say The Owl House sucks now. Like the end of season 2 was so Rise of Skywalker levels of insane and season 3 episode 1 just solidified how off the rails the show has gone.
I loved season 1 and the most of the first half of season 2. But the more Eda, Willow, and Gus got pushed aside to prop up Amity and Hunter, the worse the show got.
I also really hate how Belos became so over-explained along with introducing the Collector, a character who like Hunter and Amity, really does not match the vibe of the show.
Season 1 had so much intrigue by keeping things mysterious (until the season 1 finale which basically was the beginning of the end of the show for me). Luz as a character was so great because by episode 2, she learns that she isn't "the main character" and evolves to not be so self-centered like she was in the first episode.
As season 2 went along, her self-centered traits began to resurface again and season 3 ep 1 just completely reversed all her character development. Hell, even Willow and Gus have begun to deteriorate too. That messy behavior in public without helping to clean up their mess and just tossing a fucking coin to the poor shop owner is just shitty.
I'm also just not a fan of Lumity tbh. Amity just brings out the worst in Luz and I never really liked her character. Though honestly I hate when children characters have romance whether straight or LGBT. I never really liked Amity too with the whole bully thing. The show set up a certain dynamic of Luz and the Owl House and Luz and her friends. Amity pretty much destroyed both imo.
The only new character and romance I loved was Eda and Raine. Probably because they're adults and Raine actually matched the vibe of season 1.
Season 1 to me, seemed like it was saying Emperor Belos at some point long ago won and turned society upside down enough that the damage was irreversible. Therefore the main conflict was how can one be themselves in an unaccepting society and cope with a dark situation and how found family is precious in these situations.
Basically imagine if a young LGBT tween who is only familiar with a mostly accepting society get shoved back in time to when being gay was illegal. That's how I see Luz being trapped in the Demon realm.
I guess I'm saying with the Owl House, I don't want it to be like Gravity Falls and Amphibia. For those shows, stuff like war and revolution works.
But Owl House set up such an intriguing premise of just basic survival in an already fucked society, I'd rather not change that setting. Eda was always the most interesting character to me because she reminds me of what it might have been like for older LGBT people during an unaccepting difficult time. And I really miss that after they made it more about revolution instead of survival and found family.
