On the first day of Pride month, PBS Kids gave to me:

A really nice wedding that couldn’t air in my state when it premiered because conservatives lost their shit.

(You don’t even see them kiss. They walk down the aisle and you don’t see them again until they’re dancing together in an embarrassing teacher kinda way)

Once, when I was like 11, my history teacher was about to let us go to recess early, and he said, “But before I can let any of you go, I need three boys to help me haul these boxes down to the office.” But I was impatient as hell because I wanted to show-off my new slingshot to my friend in another class, so before any of the boys could flex amongst themselves to figure out which of them were strongest, I stomped my 5″7′-and-still-growing, could-carry-greater-than-my-own-body-weight ass over to the boxes filled with textbooks, stacked all five of them up, and towed all of them down at once down 2 flights of stairs at almost a run before anyone could stop me.

At least 3 girls asked me to be their ‘boyfriend’ at lunch, 1 of them even broke up with her ‘man’ to do so.

And that’s pretty much my gender in a nutshell.

ok i had seen those two other larrie tweets going around and was like "ok so this person clearly is not a good person at all, its a shame she exploited harry's kindness and hates on an entire section of the fanbase that argulably CREATED rainbow direction to create a SAFE SPACE for people to be themselves" but now this person is solidifying the fact that they are PROMOTING violence and honestly i would almost go as far as to say promoting hate crimes. i know not every single larrie is part of the lgbtqi2a+ community but they are ALL supportive of it so you're literally putting people against an entire section of a fanbase. a fanbase that is there to promote TREAT PEOPLE WITH KINDNESS and HAVING EACH OTHER'S BACKS and BEING WHO YOU WANT TO BE. at this point it doesn't matter what you believe or what ship you think is real or not when you're literally promoting violence towards a group of people you really need to take a step back and chill the fuck out.

In the current world, national and local political stratospheres, queer, trans, and gender non-conforming folks live between both a full and threatened existence. During the past decade it has been both an external and intra-community struggle to be represented, seen, and heard. As many march toward a more diverse, livable and inclusive LGBTQI2A+ community there has also been push back and erasure of such progress. Considering the oversimplification of multiple and intersecting identities, there is a need and a call to be celebrated not just for survival but also for moments of joy, hope, and worthiness.Veins of Existence: Beyond Survival acknowledges the blindspots in representing multiple identities and various cultural backgrounds.This exhibition highlights both current obstacles as well the pride that makes people fight for their greater community.

Xpace acknowledges the generous support of the Ontario Arts Council for this exhibition.

acquiring ‘political legitimacy’ (respect, power, influence) as a minority group in a large nation state (or idk, capitalism or bureaucracy or whatever) requires naming ourselves, in order to make ourselves legible to that higher authority and to the general populace. and so we get caught up in this endless struggle amongst ourselves to perfect and popularize the most accurate/inclusive terms (LGBTQI2A+etc) because we do not have the power to name and condemn the system that requires such limited and fractured categorization of humanity, which is what we’re actually trying to deconstruct and resist

it had to be the gay rights movement, not the movement-against-the-absurd-policing-of-human-behavior-and-affection, if it was going to succeed politically, but by naming something you instantly and inevitably distort it

fuck, you’re right, I am inescapably a queer theorist. I didn’t want to be it just sorta happened. I’ve never even taken a class.

I have a sneaking suspicion my boyfriend knows I’m nonbinary (or at least not cisgender)

But all the signs have an air of plausible deniability

I can’t ask him without outing myself

And, like, I know he’s 100% safe to come out to

I’m just not ready to tell him

Or just about anyone for that matter

Not even my mom (although that’s mostly rooted in a fear there would be a misunderstanding like there was when I came out as demisexual and we’ll have a repeat of not speaking to each other for at least 24 hours. Which I know is hella unlikely, but in the off chance it does happen, I am not in a place where I can handle that right now)

There are exactly two people I know I would be okay telling in person (I know I’ve told y’all, but y’all don’t know me IRL)

Of course, they’re people I will probably never meet

But I think I’d feel better coming out to other people if I could come out to them

I have different reasons behind both of them

But I am more sure they are people I can come out to than anything else

Not to mention the odds of seeing them again after that are astronomically low. (Not that I would have a problem seeing them again. There’s just not a feeling of “I have to keep seeing this person after I tell them this really personal thing, and if it goes badly…”)

Earlier, I was involved in a discussion about Hunger Games

And, well

I’m going to apologize in advance if I become an insufferable ass.

The thing is, through the course of said discussion, I’ve about half convinced myself that I know more about Coriolanus Snow than anyone (with the exception of Suzanne Collins and Donald Sutherland, of course)

On some level I know that’s ridiculous,

but the reasonable voice in my head is not currently loud enough to override this strange vanity.

Meanwhile, my reaction to any slander calling Coriolanus the epitome of all evil is unequivocally

*talking about someone we know posting pictures of their newest grandchild*

My mom: “I can’t remember if there’s another boy or not.”

Me: “(insert name of sister of this child’s mother) has at least one with a penis.”

My mom: “how could I forget?”

Me: “yeah. How could you forget that we have irreconcilable differences?”

(The grandmother and both of her daughters have proven to be transphobic and have no respect for pronouns that don’t line up with birth sex. One of them even took it as an attack on her child to point out that it’s weird to define a child by their genitals.)
