SPOILER: FUTURE DREAMS 6 FINALE
today on MAY 5, the 10th and final episode of FUTURE DREAMS 6 was broadcasted. as it had already been revealed this season's aim was to find members to join SON NABI in the newest girl group of legacy entertainment, NOVA.
following various performances, including two new songs 'TICK TICK BOOM' and 'RISING', PARK JEONGAN, legacy entertainment's ceo, revealed the additional members of the group to be KIM NAYOUNG, KWON SENA, SEO MINSEO, WATANABE MIYU and YU MILAN. company's representatives have confirmed that the 6 members are currently working hard on their debut, currently slated for this year in Q3.
meanwhile, legacy hasn't left the little screen just yet, as they are currently promoting their male trainees, models and actors through LGC SPRING BOYS.
[ + / - ] It was obvious since future dreams' previous season that their girl trainees were OBA lol, they needed a third group ASAP. The visual and aura synergy is so good! Can't wait to see what kind of concept they will have! I expect something fresh! [ + / - ] enough with survival shows. 6 seasons? isn't this too much? focus on music instead of these scummy shows to gather hype. bet they already knew who they wanted in the group and only made the rest waste their time. this is cruel
#LGCENT #FUTUREDREAMS #NOVA #KIMNAYOUNG #KWONSENA #SEOMINSEO #SONNABI #WATANABEMIYU #YUMILAN
A/N: as a reminder, stage names for the nova members will be revealed in q3 but for article tagging purposes, they will be listed under their full names for now.

━━ lee jiho : future dreams season 7 memory museum
his journey, he thinks, is one that is long but it's not anywhere near its end yet. there's something about looking back at moments in his life and thinking of which ones defined his career thus far. it's difficult, he thinks, considering that he thinks that every single moment and every single decision has lead him here. there's a lot to comb through, but he thinks he's chosen ones that are important to him.
video one < future dreams, season 1 finale >
future dreams season 1 was the very first time he had attempted to put himself out there. before this, he had only been a trainee for about a year and a half, and he hadn't really done much regarding what he thought his talents were at the time. he had sung for his audition and danced a little bit, but he was pretty sure that the reason why he had been accepted at the time was that he had a pretty face.
but, after a discussion with a few friends, he had decided to just go for it.
and he had no regrets afterwards. there were plenty of times on the show that he thought he wasn't going to do well, like when the initial rankings had been revealed and he had ranked tenth out of nineteen male contestants. it wasn't the ranking he had thought he deserved, but he had taken it in stride and had tried his best to become better. he remembers the audition song he had chosen, learning how to do the dance for should've held on and trying to figure out how to make it look good while using it to audition solo when the original choreography was for 6 people. he remembers doing the initial interview and being so nervous when he had been asked to name a rival, and he could think of anyone to say and just blurted out his cousin's name. he had worked so hard to do well during the first season of future dreams and the finale of season 1 had proven to him that he had done well. well enough to gain attention, and where there was only supposed to be a top three, he had been added in as a fourth.
of course, he hadn't won the solo that had been the prize for season 1. but he had gotten his name out there, and he had proven to himself that he really did want to be an idol, to be on stage. and that was more priceless to him than anything else.
video two — the struggle < future dreams season 3 finale : debut confirmation >
contrary to what most would probably think, he thinks of the confirmation of his debut as a struggle. perhaps it would have been more of an achievement in his mind had he not been given the role of leader from the getgo.
it's funny to him now, thinking back, but he had been absolutely terrified when he had been named as the leader of v&a's sub-unit agito. he had been the leader only once or twice before, and his groups had done okay but he had never thought that he would be separated from jaesun. technically they were in the same group, but he hadn't thought there would be subunits. he had always just assumed that jaesun would be the leader, so he had never even thought in his wildest dreams he would be one too.
the first couple months after the announcement had been difficult for him, considering he's an introvert and awkward around new people. at the time, he had only really known haru out of the original four agito members and haru hadn't been his roommate. he had needed to really step out of his comfort zone and get to know the other members—which he's glad for because he would consider yushin a close friend now. but the thought of it had been daunting at the time.
and then he had needed to take some public speaking classes, knowing that he would be put on the spot to make speeches and thank people as the leader. and on shows he would be asked to explain their concept and their song and introduce people, so he had put in a lot of extra hard work the months between the debut announcement and the actual debut. but, he wouldn't change anything if he was able to go back in time. not a single thing.
video three — the achievement < writing dionaea >
in all of his life, he had never really thought about becoming a songwriter. someone who had been (and still was) very important to him early in his career had been an aspiring producer, and he had been inspired somewhat by that person. he had started jotting down ideas whenever he had them, just writing down poems and lines and words that he thought sounded nice. or could sound nice if he tweaked them. he had taken a few literature classes and creative writing classes and he had never thought they would be useful in this way.
at this point, he has multiple notes on his phone's notes app that is just lines and lines and pages and pages of endless scrolling, filled with ideas he had written down. anything that came to mind that he thought could be a lyric one day, any ideas—all were written down. usually, after a while, he would go through them and start piecing things together in a way to make them as cohesive as possible, tweaking here and there.
submitting them had also been on a whim.
but receiving news that they could be used was even better, and he remembers entering the studio to work on it with the producers was a dream come true. he had thought he had achieved his biggest dream, of debuting and standing on stage under a group name that was his own. but this? this was different.
it was when he realized he could achieve multiple dreams. they had even ended up performing diaonaea at a year end show, and he had really felt so proud even if he only had partial credit.
but the reception from eterval had been really great, and that had only spurred him on to write more and more. and once they had received their own private studios to work in?
he had never looked back.
video four < studio choom, motley crew cover >
considering that he had debuted in a group with a 'fresh' concept, he had been pleased when he had been able to choose his own concept for his cover. he had even chosen the song, and had been able to direct a lot of what he had wanted into it even though he didn't participate in the choreography aside from the transition part.
honestly, he had never really felt restricted in any sense when it came to their given concepts—he didn't mind having the fresh concept, since it made sense in comparison with type zero's and versus' concepts. he never felt like he needed to show anything else when he was in agito.
but alone? there were many different things he could show.
and he wanted to show that he wasn't only good at one type of concept—he wanted to show that he was malleable and could fit anywhere that he was put. he had participated in a few different types of songs before, but they were always bubbly or upbeat. flash and hit were different, but he had always had minimal parts in those songs too, despite being center for flash as well.
motley crew was a song that he had always enjoyed, considering how wide of a music range he listened to. with the remix, done exactly how he envisioned it, this studio choom cover was everything he had ever wanted when he had thought about showing a different side to him. especially with the clothes and the fake tattoos and everything.
also, it had been something fun to film and he had enjoyed every moment leading up to it, with the planning and the practicing and then finally the filming. he truly believed he had shown the world something that he was really proud of.
even rewatching it now, he still felt proud of it.
video five — the defining moment < future dreams season 7 : chaser stage >
as a composer/producer, he's always wanted to write a song for himself. it was a goal, if he was honest, and he had never imagined in his wildest dreams that he would be able to do something like this so early on in his career. he had been focused on writing for agito, and for other legacy groups, and had wanted his next big project to be a title song for agito—but a solo song had never been on the list. maybe ten years down the line, once agito had made a name for themselves and he had done his military service, he would plan to announce a self-produced self-composed solo debut song for himself. but this? future dreams season 7 had been a pleasant surprise, and he had thrown himself into it with all the enthusiasm he could muster.
he had partaken in every single aspect of the song, from writing lyrics and composing the song, to the outfit and the stage preparation. he had even contributed ideas to how he wanted to walk around on stage. and the best part—aside from helping the production team write the song, because he had genuinely learned so much from working with professionals—was the fact that he had been able to contribute to the stage aesthetic with his own art.
his art had not been something that he had shared with anyone else before this, not even his own groupmates, so it felt kind of fun to hide that sort of easter egg in the background when he would be performing in front of the backdrop. it was likely no one would ever notice, but he was proud of it nonetheless.
how the stage had turned out was better than anything he could've ever dreamt up. it felt insane to be able to see all of his ideas come to fruition the way that they did, considering that he had started with a powerpoint of abstract ideas.
it gave him the confidence to think that he really could do well with this. and, well, if anything? he had be able to work on every single part that was needed to prepare a stage and he had learned so much during it. no matter what the outcome of this season was, he was already proud of himself.

GUIDING LIGHT
a starter for @lgcyuxi
jaesun was excited that he was given the opportunity to be a mentor on future dreams this season. it felt like a lifetime ago that he himself was on the show, but he hoped that he could be of help to his mentee. he admittedly didn’t know yuxi well, if at all really, so he did a detailed read of her profile and watched the footage that they shared of her trying to figure out how he could be of help.
he scheduled a first meeting with her, making sure to bring drinks and snacks since he imagined that it might be a nice touch. or she might hate him for bringing things that she probably shouldn’t be eating, but that he would push towards her anyway. he awaited her in the practice room that he had found and checked the time. he was still too early, but hopefully, she would be here soon.

illusion
how lucky is she that she gets to have her mentor be a member from one of her favourite groups, fabula!? the stars are aligning for her. this wasn’t their first meet up but after their initial meetup, she’d been given a few good brain bits from the idol with advice on how to proceed. while she already had her turn with being a leader for the line distributions with areum, nayoung did mention that she had picked another star for visual. and honestly, she wasn’t entirely sure with what to do with that role at first, so arin’s guidance did help. and not to force it either. nothing quite like turning everyone off if she’s too focused on trying too hard. expressions were important too, especially while performing, but also giving attitude. it was a fine balance, really. a concoction that wasn’t fixed by science.
which makes it hard, but nothing about being an idol is formulaic despite it being formulaic. “oh god be a good dancer”, but you can’t just go and raise your arms, one, two, three, and become a good dancer.
“okay, okay, i just wanted to run a few things by you - like... first of all, i did practice my expressions for my monthly sns, so that my posts don’t get boring. but also, i practiced my expressions and angles for while i perform too and tried my best to make it look natural. that being said, what i see could still be different from what you see, or a camera sees... do you mind being my ‘spotter’, or coach, well-  you’re my mentor i mean!”

@lgcyuxi
jaekyung knew the song they’d been given was one hell of a challenge. she loved the energy of it all but the fact it was so rap heavy did leave a rather heavy knot in her stomach. from what she’d seen of the girls skills so far and how they’d talked about it, jaekyung was the only one who had at least some moderate experience with rapping and well- considering her objective was to become a main vocal, she wasn’t certain how well that would play into her agenda.
but a challenge was a challenge and she was never one to back down from that. so when yuxi sat down with her, both cozied up in comfortable clothes and curled up in the living area on the comfy sofa, she couldn’t help but have a feeling what the female was about to ask her.
“it’s okay,” she states immediately. “if it’s the best for the group and the performance, I don’t mind.”

▶▶ LOADING … interview ( fd7 headcanon )
everyone has grown of course. and himself as well through this journey, and being here as a solo performer, it's daunting but he's pleasantly surprised at how rounded he is, in his own opinion. of course, what he's been focusing on can't be showcased here, lately in the last few months, his interest in production has been increasing. but first and foremost, yushin is an artist and performer. "it's different performing by myself in comparison to performing with my group or sub-unit. it's very interesting, to perform for the entire duration with your heart out on display. i hope that i showed my genuine side properly through my moves and lines."
"performing on stage... i started first, debuted, as a musical actor. and there was always a team, an ensemble. same with being part of a unit. of course, i am elated to do things on my own terms and grow in that way, pushing myself to my own limits. and i hope that with each performance, that is conveyed." yushin initially was very excited, then it became a sort of strange feeling, practicing alone, and realizing that alterations and improvements can be made on his own terms, and it was freeing in a way. but also, to remember: everything is on display. they see you. wholly. fully.
Tumblr media
"there's always a large sense of adapting. from being a musical actor... to being a trainee again, and being with v&a, or even among three, turned four with keeho, as a member of agito... i am proud of how i've been able to adapt with performing in every aspect of my career and improving little by little. for example, i trained as a vocalist first. and i took it upon myself to improve my rapping when i realized i would be agito's main rapper. i take that seriously," yushin says with a slight smile. "and in the grand scheme of things, i have also started increasing my musicality. with growing within writing and composition. one day, i hope i will get to showcase that too."
what are his motivations for being in future dreams? well, of course it was an opportunity yushin couldn't pass up. but mostly... "i can never back down from a challenge. but experience is the biggest aspect for me. I've never said no to anything, and i want to try everything at least once. i want to continue to be challenged. push the borders. i don't only want to do one thing the entire time... push me out of my comfort zone, i'll gladly jump at the chance."

starter for @lgcyuxi; just after filming on jan. 30
sena was still in a bit of a shocked state after filming concluded for the first episode of future dreams. she really shouldn’t have been surprised, in hindsight; it was normal for the company to put some kind of plot twist into each season. but still, it managed to get sena into a very competitive mood. she wanted to know more about the girls she could be competing with - and possibly be in an idol group with.
so, as the group was cleared to converse on set as things wrapped up, she decided to meet and greet the challengers. one of those individuals was someone she’d never met before; she didn’t recognize her from around the studio or at the debut bootcamp. in sena’s mind, she figured this was perfect; sena didn’t know her, and maybe this girl didn’t know her too. now was the time to make friends... well, at least try to, while also getting to know more about what she would need to do to ensure her spot on the debut lineup.
“um... hi!” she said a bit shyly, walking up to the girl. she wasn’t super great at first meetings, but this time, she was determined to get through it. “i’m sena. oh- they said my name in the filming. you’re... yuxi, right?” she hoped she’d gotten it right. quickly, she remembered she was one of the centers for their introductory performance. “you did really great in that performance, by the way. i’m even more excited for the season now!” she smiled, a bit nervous, but trying her best to come off as confident.

Shouldn't have the shock worn off after finding herself seated in front of none other than Fabula's Eunhye? Never meet your heroes, Minseo remembers the saying, but not where it originated, or what it meant for her. Had it been luck of the draw for her to end up with the talented artist as her mentor? It really didn't matter how the two had been paired. She genuinely felt that this was the highlight of her time on the competition and would be willing to proclaim that in front of the camera when she was interviewed about the interaction unless she embarrassed herself in front of her, which she'd have no choice but to bow out of the competition and disappear into the hallways of the company building, never to be seen again.
Relax, Minseo reminds herself, staring at the young woman in front of her, completely awestruck. She knew that treating Eunhye naturally would be ten times better, but how could she? After some ( necessary ) gushing about how pretty Eunhye was and how much she admired the artist, she finally calms down so that their conversation could finally shift to the point of the meeting. She had racked her mind for questions that she wanted to ask her mentor, knowing very well that any piece of advice was something she could take with her whether she made it into the group or not.
"I know that I'm not the first person to say this to you, but you're known for how charismatic you are in stage. If I had to choose someone to emulate, it would be you. I know that's not the point—" She pauses, reaching up to play with the pendant of her necklace. "...and that we should all find our charming points that make us stand out in our own way, but I want to ask how you got to the point of being such a cool performer on stage. Do you ever doubt yourself?"

search and find!
acting calm had lately been much harder than usual. sori was very used to act calm in any situation, she wasn’t a person who showed her feelings to others, at all. all that had been hard lately though, acting like nothing was wrong, trying to act the way she always did. things had hurt her in the past, but no matter what, when she was around others she kept calm, now there was no alone time, because even when she was alone there’d be some camera filming her. she couldn’t let down the facade when alone because of cameras, so she was forced to one hundred percent of the time force her feelings away. after being told she would be moved down from dreamers team to challengers team she’d called her brother, someone she rarely showed feelings to, and she’d broken down in a cry during the call. the cameras had caught that probably, and it’d haunted her ever since that her cry would probably be aired. years of forcing herself never to cry, just to cry while being filmed.
she’d improved, but not enough clearly, and it was haunting her, constantly haunting her, the thought of she wasn’t enough, that perhaps she’d never be enough. she had to train hard like hell, and had to act calm when with others like she didn’t want to cry every single second. it was ‘play day’ day today, and she wanted to have fun, though lately nothing had been fun. it was weird being on challengers team when she barely knew anyone, and it still felt like she barely knew anyone. she was in the same room as fellow teammate yuxi, looking for stars “are you having any luck?” she calls out to the other, moving a bit of furniture around in hopes of finding anything.
                                                                      GO! @lgcyuxi

FUTURE DREAMS AND THE GIRLS ARE BACK !
in 2019, LEGACY ENTERTAINMENT begun a new chapter by launching FUTURE DREAMS SEASON 1. almost four years later, the popular survival show's 6TH SEASON is beginning today, MARCH 3.
CEO PARK JEONGAN, revealed the 6TH SEASON will aim to debut a NEW GIRLGROUP. although it was confirmed that familiar faces of SEASON 5 will be a part of the competition, the company also promised that the format of SEASON 6 has never been done in previous seasons. concerning the male trainees who competed in the previous season, the ceo remained quite vague on the subject, but assured that there will be opportunities to see them in the future.
the new MCs of the shows were revealed to be actress LEE HANBYUL and model HAN JISOO. additionally, fans and viewers will also get to see the two MCs of FUTURE DREAM's new after show 'BEHIND THE DREAM', co-hosted by previous future dreams winner, SON NABI.
with promises of a new concept and the introduction of an after show, make sure to not miss the premiere of FUTURE DREAMS SEASON 6 and BEHIND THE DREAM tonight, MARCH 3.
[ + / - ] son nabi is getting her own after show?? YEEEEEES!! Will she be on future dreams though? I'd both hate it if she's on the show and if she isn't LOL. She doesn't need another competition, she just needs a permanent position. I still don't get why they didn't let her on season 4, she was already complete back then. Pls CEO Park, just tell us where nabi belongs so we can properly support her!!! [ + / - ] future dreams 5 girls, let's debut!! 'starlight' was such a good song and the 5 girls sounded so good together! i hope the future group keeps doing music like this! [ + / - ] blerg, another girl group? do we really need that lmao? just focus on your current groups and stop with this future dreams nonsense. 6 seasons is just too much ㅋㅋㅋ

𝘴𝘶 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴 7: 𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘮𝘯𝘪 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘶𝘮
“Hello! My name is Parker and I hope you enjoyed my cover. My dream is to sing more for you in the future, so please support me!”
The Introduction (☆/☆)
While Parker’s actual audition for Legacy Entertainment had been a spur-of-the-moment adventure at the time, the moment Parker was accepted, there was very little to stop him from taking the offer. It didn’t matter that he wasn’t Korean, nor did he have any substantial knowledge of the Korean language, because, for a very long time, Parker only wanted to make singing his life.
At the time he auditioned, he had been in university, studying something he barely resonated with, but when given the offer to become an idol— it seemed too good to be true. And there were moments where it was. Moving to Korea has been exciting, but the amount of work expected of trainees was not something he fully anticipated. He could sing but couldn’t dance, which turned out to be just as important, sometimes more. The amount of work he had to do to be able to competently follow choreography, control his breath, and keep a good expression while doing it— he never considered it. It was hard. Exhausting. He was given some grace for not knowing Korean at first, for getting tired too quickly, and for not understanding social norms, but that grace was only for so long, and he was expected not only to learn but to excel.
If he wanted to be a singer, he had to prove himself to his peers and the coaches first. He came all this way, and to go home because it was hard seemed like a waste. He wanted to sing. And he knew he could do it.
That drive and confidence are what got him far enough along to be introduced to the public via Legacy’s Youtube channel. And it felt good.
He had been asked what his dream was, and he had answered like he always did: he wanted to sing.
Even before the recording, he had practiced that song. He had picked ’Photograph’ because he liked it, yes, but also because he knew it was one he sang well and received good praise from his vocal coaches. And yet, he had been somewhat nervous. For all the confidence he usually processed, he had spent every moment leading up to the filming mulling over his song choices because, at the end of the day, whatever he did would be put up for millions of eyes to see and pick apart. That had been part of why he hadn’t picked a song in Korean. As much as he had improved in his pronunciation, he wanted his vocal color to be seen clearly. Loved and anticipated by future fans.
Even if it was just a video, being introduced was a big deal to Parker because it seemed to lead him that much closer to his dream.
Defining Moment - (FDS5) Performing for Seniors  (☆)
When considering a defining moment, Parker’s performance of Miss Independent seemed obvious. While one moment at the beginning of Future Dreams Season 5 might seem a bit odd, it still holds a good deal of value to Parker on a personal level and in illustrating his character, not only as a person but also as an idol. At that moment in time, it was well-acknowledged by coaches and even other trainees that Parker was indeed a strong vocalist; however, when posed with this task, he knew he didn’t want to sing a ballad. It seemed too easy, too expected, and not something he thought represented himself. He loved ballads, love longs, and injecting emotion into the things he sang so people could feel it, too, but the Parker Su he wanted to show was the Parker who was confident enough not to pick a technically difficult song. Furthermore, he wanted to show that he wasn’t the type of singer who could only stand in one place. Indeed, he was not able to dance as well as some of his peers and fellow contestants, but when he was on stage, it felt right. He knew he could move and smile and make it fun, make people enjoy watching him.
The thing that honestly set him apart from his peers at the time, at least in his opinion, was his confidence and willingness to have fun, which remains something that, even to the current day, he prides himself on. And so, during that performance, he tried his best to fill up the stage and interact with his audience, even if they happened to be his seniors, people who in any other situation would and should intimidate him. What moves he could do somewhat competently, he did with a smile and a playfulness that was so genuinely himself; even if he hadn’t done well, the fact that he had done what felt right for himself was enough.
But the thing was, he did do well.
He may not have won the whole season, but during that performance, he stood out to DBSD and was named their standout contestant for that challenge. Even if he hadn’t gotten the additional prize and voting benefit from that, the awe he felt and the validation of his decision had meant the world to him. Prior to the competition, he genuinely respected the members, especially Hyunbin. Their careers and paths were something he wanted desperately to follow. Even if Parker were to lose everything, this moment would still have so much worth to him.
Struggle - Languages (☆)
The reason the Goodal press conference had reinstated so much as a struggle for Parker is that while he knew he wanted to be a singer and had long accepted that Korean was a language he needed to master for his success, his relationship with actually speaking Chinese had been more complicated. As a child, his parents had insisted that he enroll in Chinese school, just as they were made to do, but unlike their parents before them, when Parker inevitably dropped out, there had been little pushback. He was a good kid and still partook in extracurriculars, so what was the big deal? What’s more, he knew enough to get by. He had stocked shelves at a big Chinese supermarket near his house and could reply back to aunties in English and broken Mandarin. It was enough back then, but it was during his prep for the press conference that he honestly regretted the choices he made as a child.
Truly, it wasn’t until Parker moved to Korea that he even considered the pitfalls of being a monoglot and had to quickly change his perception of English being the only language he truly needed to survive and achieve his goals. Naturally, if he hadn’t learned Korean, then he would not have gotten very far at all in South Korea; furthermore, as he observed other Legacy seniors, such as YP, or even the introduction of LGC Girls Japan, he came to the conclusion that it would potentially be within his best interested to actively study the language he had put aside during his childhood. Even at this early stage in his trainee period, the number of people who assumed he already spoke some form of Chinese only seemed to solidify the notion he needed to take on more than just Korean at some point.
Studying and practicing was hard and frustrating, especially on top of normal trainee schedules. Unlike the Spanish classes he half passed in High School, both Korean and Chinese used completely different languages with very different writing systems. It was hard. Really hard. Besides being stubborn, what Parker had to his benefit was his willingness to ‘try.’, especially when he now understood the necessity. Even if he said something weird or wrong, he kept trying despite the amount he struggled to fit words and grammar into the right places. While Korean was a necessity, Mandarin felt almost like something he needed to do for himself, especially since he had dug his own grave in his younger years.
By the time Goodal selected him as one of their ad models for the Chinese market, he could say that his Korean could still be considered a good deal stronger than Mandarin. Perhaps in the eyes of some netizens and reporters,  he should have felt more shame for his shortcomings — and indeed, there was more embarrassment than he had felt with Korean — but even as he sat in front of said reporters at a brand press conference, all Parker could do was attempt to do the best that he could, and hope that even if he still struggled, and reverted to using English words now and then, that his efforts would be recognized. At the end of the day, being able to ‘debut’ in the Chinese market as someone of Chinese heritage was a big deal, even if he hadn’t considered the possibility before. However, through the contract with Goodal, Parker not only felt the importance for him to keep studying, but understood more than ever why his parents had attempted to push him into going to Chinese school. It wasn’t just a boring thing that cut into his weekend, but it was a part of his heritage and also an important ability that would benefit him further once he made his first mainland debut with Type Zero.
Pepsi Taste of Summer (☆/☆)
The reason why Parker chose his involvement in Summer Taste was because it was his first real taste of what it would be like to work as an idol. At that time, he had been happy enough to have been selected to join the special evaluation team, which hadn’t actually been an easy go. In true Parker fashion, he tried his best, and even then, he received mixed reactions in regard to his growth compared to the other members of the evaluation team. That said, when he was eventually pulled aside (along with two other trainees) and informed he would be participating in this project, he had been floored.
Summer Taste had been his first time in the recording studio for something of this magnitude, and that in itself had been nerve-wracking. For all his usual confidence, the desire he felt to do well was something else. It was all-consuming and made him feel ill with anticipation. Prior to the recording, he had practiced as much as he could, but even when he found himself in the booth, he had genuinely been intimidated. This wasn’t something he was doing for fun— he had been chosen for a reason, and he not only needed to prove that he was the right choice, but he also had to keep in mind that this project was for a global company. Even if the ad only played in South Korea, there was no denying the reach it would have. People who didn't know him would see him in the music video, or hear his voice in the song.
Because of this, Parker did his best to take in the whole moment and learn. Every bit of feedback wasn’t to belittle his talent as a singer but to ensure that the end product would be the best it could be. This was a job at the end of the day, and he was expected to be cooperative, listen, and adjust accordingly.
This was also something that carried over to dance practices and the actual music video shooting. For as awe-inducing and fun as the shoot had been at times, he had to keep reminding himself to work hard and that he was lucky to be given this opportunity. If a choreographer or the director wanted him to do something again, even if their tone was harsh at the moment, he did it. He did it for them but also for himself. He had to get used to these things if he ever wanted to debut one day.
Achievement - Debuting with Type Zero  (☆)
Debuting with Type Zero had felt like a fever dream. One moment, he was losing Future Dreams, and the next, he was told that his dream of debuting as a singer would not be put on hold, like it had been prior to the show. For as cocky as it sounds, Parker always knew he’d debut one day, but he never knew when that day might be. And when he found out the news, he cried on camera. He had left everything — his friends, his family, his dog, his city — to fly across the world to chase this need to be on stage. He had learned to dance, act, and learn a whole new language. And after a few years of blood, sweat, and tears, it happened.
The actual preparation for the debut had been intense. He felt like he barely had time to process anything before he was in a studio recording Type Zero’s next mini-album, his debut album. And then he was in the dance studio not only learning the choreography for the title song but also being expected to learn the group’s backlog. Perfect. Everything had to be perfect. If he was tired as a trainee, then it was nothing compared to the hours he spent learning and trying to catch up with the other members. At the time, he had been lucky not to have to go through that alone and had another new member to lean on, but it still didn’t detract from the reality of the situation. He was going to debut.
And then, Back to Zero and Thunderous dropped. And he was revealed officially to the world. To Zenith.
However, this didn't mean he finally had time to breathe. Somehow, he managed to enjoy it. Looking back, there was perhaps never a time Parker felt more tired and overworked— his idol muscles were still forming — however, he wouldn’t trade those moments for anything. Debuting and being on stage, singing had always been his dream, and to have finally achieved that felt like he had caught a star with his bare hands.
How on earth had he been so lucky?

━━ lee jiho : future dreams, season 7 alumni interview
when it comes time for the interview, jiho is feeling pretty happy with himself. even if it didn't go anywhere after this round, he was happy with the song that he had helped create and the stage and the outfit was great too. all in all, he's feeling pretty satisfied. he doesn't really have any expectations for winning the show, mostly just wanting to come on and try his best and also represent agito, especially once yushin had been eliminated.
he settles down in the chair, adjusting his bangs just a little bit before nodding to indicate that he was ready to answer the questions that they had for him.
how do you feel about this experience as a whole?
he pauses to think about this one, thinking back to everything that he had experienced the past couple weeks as he had learned and navigated his way through creating a stage that was (almost) wholly his own. it had been overwhelming at first, when he had first started and had realized that literally almost everything had been up to him.
"overwhelming at first," jiho answers honestly, a wry little smile on his lips as he recalls all of the stressed, sleepless nights he had endured in order to try to figure everything out. it had taken a bit of finessing, but he had managed to make a timetable and sort of figure it out with help along the way.
"but really rewarding," he adds in the next breath, smiling and feeling pretty pleased. "there were a lot of thigs to think about all at once, but once i started compartmentalizing it, it was a lot of fun actually. i never dreamed that i would have the opportunity to be able to come up with the concept of a song, write the song, and then figure out the different behind the scenes things that were necessary for a stage to come to life. it was really great, to watch my ideas that were on the screen as a powerpoint presentation originally, come to life."
what have you learned about yourself during the past few weeks?
"i've learned that i can achieve anything if i put my mind to it," he says, grinning. "i feel like that's something the others have also said, but i really didn't think i could do it at first," he admits, looking just a little bit sheepish. "i was worried about a lot of different prospects of the performance as a whole, because i had never done any of it before."
he pauses, thinking back to everything once again. "i also learned that i really enjoy stage production? maybe it's because i like painting and drawing already, but thinking of how i wanted the background to be and how the lighting should look was really fun."
which preparation stage(s) did you like the most?
he grins, looking a bit amused because he had kind of already answered this question, covering his mouth with his hand politely as his eyes curve into their signature little crescents. "oops, i didn't know that was next i swear!" he presses his hand over his heart as if pretending to swear that he hadn't accidentally read the cue cards or something before the interview.
"but, as mentioned, i really enjoyed the stage production portion of it." he stops there, tilting his head slightly to the side. "well, okay, so my favourite part was definitely watching my lyrics and the melodies i had in my laptop come to life with the help of the production team, because that's something i aspire to do in the future as well. i've already been working on lyrics and songs, but this was the first time i had really participated in the whole song. even if i didn't write the whole thing, i was there for all the brainstorming sessions and all the times when we were coming up with melodies and that was absolutely amazing to be part of."
pausing there, since he knew he was always going to enjoy writing lyrics and was working on writing songs, he can't help but continue back on the topic he had started on. "but yeah, the stage production. i want to do something like that one day again, but maybe for a different concept. something different from this too would be fun, just to show variety in my skills."
if you were to win this season, which stages would you like to contribute to?
"of course i would want to participate in creating the song itself, that's a given. if there was ever a choice of working on the song myself and giving it my own personal flair versus letting someone else write the entire thing, i would 100% choose helping out. i hope to be able to write full songs in the future, but i'm happy with helping out for now." he nods at that, satisfied with that answer but he also can't help but be greedy. if not now, then when right? this season was about him as a potential soloist, so if he was to think about only himself and not as an extension of agito then he would absolutely want to do more.
"i would like to participate in all the different stages if possible. i like the idea of having my own personal touches in every single part of a performance, and how would i do that without helping with everything? i think, other than the actual song itself, i would want to come up with different sets too. and if possible, i want to learn more about fashion and help the stylists out a bit more."
where do you think you could improve if you were to do this again?
"definitely with the styling," he says, frowning just a little bit at how little he had actually helped out there in the end. "i don't really have a set 'fashion style' of my own, and kind of just go with whatever is comfortable so i didn't give many opinions when it came to how i wanted to look for my stage. the only request i really had was red eyeshadow and leaving my hair down so that i could push it out of my face."
he looks a little amused, trying to think of what else he would want to be able to work on more next time if given the chance. "oh, and choreography! i didn't really think this song needed a dance, so we didn't really choreograph any part of it aside from where i should walk to show off the stage and also interact with the audience. i really wanted a sort of rock vibe, so i just had a mic stand on the stage."
there's a lot more he could say, considering he wanted to also write and produce his own solo song one day, if the company would allow him to but he reigns those words back in. maybe he's already being too ambitious, hoping for a solo debut if he doesn't make it this time but he guesses it also doesn't hurt to dream big, right?

body talk
the idea of play day is quite fun, although it remains a competition with dreamers against challengers. it seems that doesn’t end even among the fun. there’s a strange tension that nayoung feels that despite them having fun in front of the cameras, the competition is still there in the background, ever so evident and not going away. that doesn’t make the fact that they are all in attendance of play day a thing - so she has mixed thoughts. nevertheless, nayonug will participate and participate she will. it seems weird to sit across from jaekyung, who for some reason is still on the challengers team. if the injury had not happened, jaekyung would likely have been seated in the dreamers team, no doubt about it.
even so, when she encounters jaekyung during the treasure hunt, nayoung knows they’re not supposed to react, yet there’s already this itching in her gut. no, she has to do her best. she wants to win the money! after all, they need to make money so they can buy dinner. “jaekyung, fancy seeing you here,” nayoung tries her best at being funny, buit she knows her jokes likely fall flat, after being chosen for this round of the staring contest. “is it best out of three or best out of one?” she looks around to see if anyone would clarify, as she stands beside jaekyung for this, before they started officially.
