which character from any media would you like to have as a father?: Craig T Nelson in the movie The Family Stone. That's such a good movie and he's a great dad. Also he's age appropriate since I am old.

if money, laws, time, and effort were no object, what animal would you want to have?: Another dog would be fun. Someday I want another rescue pit mix to keep Alvin company. Only a girl we can name Darla (my daughter's choice)

what is your Chinese takeout order?: ooooh crab rangoon and maybe general tso chicken with fried rice. I haven't had Chinese food in a long time.

what's your favourite emoji?: I'm on the computer and can't do it, but I overuse the hell out of the cry-laugh emoji.

would you rather have a library, greenhouse, or home theater in your house?: a greenhouse would be amazing just to be in, the plants and the filtered light, just so cheerful on a colder day.

what childhood tv show do you think of the most fondly? oh gosh, maybe little house on the prairie? I was obsessed with the books and the show looked 0% like Minnesota and Wisconsin but I still loved it.

what was your tumblr like when you first joined?: I only joined so I could look at shameless stuff. it was 2013. I didn't really know what to do with it for a long time. Then I got super active and then walked away. Now I'm back!

what clothing style do you love but don't feel compelled to replicate yourself?: Gosh I feel like I'm too old to pull off any style anymore, but I love the 70s-90s punk aesthetic and cottage core, to go two completely different directions.

if you were plopped into a fictional world, which one would you know the layout of the best?: Does it have to be a whole other world like not a real place? Because I have no idea.

what is your favourite piece of art?: Christina's World by Andrew Wyeth (pictured above) I also really love Whistler.

do you have a water bottle? what does it look like?: Olive green with stickers but it leaks so I don't take it anywhere, just use at home, but only sometimes.

If you had to ship Mickey with another Gallagher, who would it be?: Oh god, WHAT? No. But fine. Lip I guess.

Do you think s11 Mickey can still carry s11 Ian?: Ian got so gloriously beefy in S11 but Mickey is ripped and anyway he would never admit he couldn't carry him. He could get a slipped disc or hernia and he'd still try and walk it off.

1. which character from any media would you like to have as a father? I KNOW i said i don't think ian and mick would be that good as parents but screw it, i want ian to be my dad 😌

2. if money, laws, time, and effort were no object, what animal would you want to have? i still wouldn’t bc i would like them to be free instead of living with me. even if it’s effortless there’s still a lot of responsibility that comes with taking care of another thing but if there was an ethical way, i want a teacup dog

3. what is your chinese takeout order? i eat chinese food on a daily basis so there’s so much i like but fried ramen or yaki udon (ik it’s japanese but chinese restaurants have them) and wonton. or shrimp rice rolls, i have them every saturday bc they’re my fav food

noel gallagher x platonic!fem!reader

Summary : A bit of y/n being dragged out by Liam.

A/n : it's so short, but i've got no ideas, i'm ill and it's 1:08 am <33

"I'm going to get murdered if my mum finds out. I'll be plain, cold dead Noel !"

The older boy just rolled his eyes and threw a dress at her. Y/n gave him a confused look, wondering where the twenty year old man got the teenage girl's clothing from.

"It's off one of Liam's friend's sisters. You'll probably meet her tonight, she's the only one with a braincell in that entire group."

Y/n just gave a nod before waving Noel to leave the room so she could get changed. Once he had left, she unzipped her bag which had been thrown onto Liam's bed. The duffle which was usually stocked with hockey or netball outfits and supplies had been refilled with a pair of new, navy gazelles, a can of dedrant, a makeup bag and a hairbrush. She quickly fixed her face, deciding lash minute to drag some messy eyeliner and silver chunky glitter around her eyes. The hairbrush was dragged through her damp hair, the locks being even more tangled from the gorgeous Manchester weather.

After about half an hour, y/n ran out of the bedroom and the the bathroom across the hall to de-sweat herself and spray a ton of deodrant. She swore she was going through a can a week with her mother's sports layout.

Checking outside the door, y/n found the hallway to be cleared of any Gallagher boys and therefore quickly rushed back into Noel and Liam's bedroom to carry on getting ready for what had been refered to as "her only chance to get an actual life" by Liam. She bedroom door was accidentally slammed such, causing her to cringe as she swapped the sports bra for a black push up bra. Simple but cute in her mind. The short black dress borrowed from one of Liam's friends was then pulled ontop and her adidas where slipped on, white ruffled socks poking out ontop.

She'd been left for just over fourty minutes before she returned to the livingroom where she found Liam slouched on a couch watching some old football game, y/n assumed that the light blue little men running around where Man City.

"Bonjour William."

"Alright Chips."

Her cheeks flamed up pink at the greeting. Noel wasn't supposed to tell anyone that story, especially not his half decent looking younger brother !

"Urm, so when do we need to leave ?"

"Oh not for ages, not got a clue why r' kid got you to get ready so early. Then again, i suppose most birds take ages."

He drew out the 'a' in ages, making the slightly younger girl giggle.

"You've got like, another three hours Chips, oh and pre drinks are in the kitchen. "

Y/n just gave a nod before pushing herself off from leaning against the doorframe and exiting to the kitchen, where she assumed Noel was becoming friendly with a bottle of somekind.

After leaving the Gallagher's house, y/n found herself being dragged around by Liam. Most if the time he had his hand wrapped round her's, and when it wasn't, he had a grip on the back of her dark grey denim jacket.

Before meeting his friends on the corner, she'd had a speech of 'i have to make sure your safe or r' kid'll kill me, so if anyone tried to give you any trouble just tell 'em that your with me, yeah. Oh and try not to talk to proper like.'

She just gave a haste nod and followed everything he did. Not only had she never really been to a house party, she hadn't really talked with people who she wasn't related to or who weren't in her class.

As they walked up to a small group of teenagers who looked the same age as her, maybe a bit older, Liam moved his position from holding her hand to throwing his arm over her shoulders.

"Aight fellas, this is y/n. Chips these are the biggest bunch of wankers you'll ever meet."

Liam had a grin plastered on his lips, causing her to smile and as the group introduced themselfs individually, she found herself becoming alot more calm than she was before.

They all simutainiously started heading down the street, not a word spoken, they just started walking. She followed Liam still, arm now around her waist, slightly under her jacket.

"Bet this is much better than that hockey team right."

She just gave a nod.

6. My favourite dialogue is the scene where Mary and Noel meet in Burning Matches. I actually really liked writing the whole Never have I ever game they played but that's like half the chapter...

"So…" Noel said slowly. "What's it like…?"

"Being the daughter of a Beatle?" Mary finished for him. She sighed heavily.

Noel knocked her foot with his. "Sorry. Do-over. Stupid question."

She grinned at him, a cruel light flashing in her eyes. "What's it like being Liam Gallagher's brother?"

Noel laughed uncomfortably. "You didn't even know which one I was five minutes ago."

She leaned against the wooden cabinets behind them, then rolled her head dramatically to face him.

"I knew you're the songwriter one. He's the one with verbal diarrhoea, the pretty one. And you're always beating each other up and cancelling gigs.""

7. My favourite piece of narration or description is the Supernova Heights scene in Burning Matches. It took me ages to figure out the layout of the house and search out pics. Special thanks @themightynoel on insta... I just love houses! I love how they feel like an own character. I had been dying to write a Supernova Heights scene and I'm proud of the whole Cinderella at the ball feel.

"The sitting room smelled of cigarettes and perfume and beer. It was dim; there were candles everywhere, bathing the room in ghostly yellow light. The windows were adorned with elaborate drapes in black and leopard, blocking out the light from the street lamps. There was a gaggle of girls doing lines on the presumably working fireplace, giggling and nudging each other and glancing at themselves in the tall, ornate mirror.

The Who was on full blast, and in the corner a man was wheeling his arm around, playing air guitar by himself. On a velvet sofa a girl was asleep on her friend's lap, her skirt hitched up over her thighs to reveal a sliver of her cotton knickers. There were glasses and champagne bottles on every available surface. As Mary moved through the room, people here and there looked up disinterestedly. She figured she might run into someone she knew—maybe some of the music types who knew her dad—but so far she didn't recognise anyone.

She made her way into a second sitting room. There were framed Sex Pistols posters on the wall, two dusty-looking chandeliers hung from the ceiling. They looked a bit out of place, like they wandered into the room accidentally and remained there for lack of a better place to go. The remains of a huge birthday cake sat in the middle of the rustic wooden coffee table. Strawberries and cream. Underneath it someone had spelled out Noel's name with thirty-one melted blue birthday candles.

A leopard print couch and two matching armchairs dominated the room. There was a man lounging on the couch, slouched so low he was practically prostrate, his legs spread far apart, his feet in second position like a ballet dancer. He was smoking a cigarette and explaining something animatedly to a man sitting in an armchair with his back to Mary..."

"Are you ready??" asks Sirius radio, "Louis Tomlinson week is in full swing!" The official announcement for We Made It came out and oh, it is beautiful! The picture is of Louis centered in front of the multi colored carnival wheel we saw in the video teaser. The image is evocative of Christian religious iconography with Louis as a saint with a rainbow halo; it's also evocative of Harry's Lights Up publicity shots with the green under lighting. The post has the same layout as the KMM one but switches the red color scheme for orange- a random seeming choice unless they're going to... dear god... keep going down this path for the rest of the singles and make a whole... ass... RAINBOW?? We haven't even got this single properly yet and now I'm dying of impatience for the next one just to see if it's yellow, fucking hell. Anyway it shows the worldwide release times, with a spot for Doncaster, aww. More promo spots are being announced, and it looks like there's going to be a Louis Fan vs Artist trivia video OMG that will be great. And while only one fan will get to do that one, Louis is going all out for all of us and I think given the publicity narrative for this song ("it's about the fans!") we can expect lots more amazing content- in the meantime the quotes about how much he loves us are truly incredible, just yesterday giving us him saying that while his biggest inspiration as a teenager was Liam Gallagher now it's his fans, and, no offense to other artists but that he has one of the best relationships with his fans, ever. So much good stuff! And then team I-don't-know-a-UK-time-who's-she over at LTHQ were like hmm not quite enough, this seems like a great time to announce a Late Late Show appearance (Oct 28!) and post the official single cover to Louis' instagram. Louis! In front of the rainbow wheel! It's gorgeous! Three more days...

Meanwhile, HARRY. It looks like he recorded a "Later... With Jools Holland" performance spot tonight, first of all. The 60 min show features multiple artists per episode performing more than one song each (and sometimes together). Harry's spot will probably air sometime in November and we were told he played Lights Up and a new song! Maybe called Watermelon Sugar! Well that was exciting enough to spawn a hundred Watermelon Sugar treatises and memes in about twenty minutes- but that wasn't enough for Harry, no. "Kiwi walked so Watermelon Sugar could run," he tweeted, scattering chaos like melon seeds. AND the doyouknowwhoyouare site was updated with a new theme (black on white!) and new compliments, a strangely high percentage of them food themed, and some seeming like song title Easter eggs (even more food!) Watermelon Sugar is in there, as is the conspicuously capitalized "Like That Summer Feeling." Harry also (earlier) liked a tweet begging him to say when his album was out, thanks very informative Harold, and a unicef commercial featuring Sign of the Times debuted: we're told he donated use of his song to support their work vaccinating children internationally.

Niall, fanfic trope notwithstanding, didn't have anything to say about food today unless you count the "I'd eat my own hand for a Grammy nom" quote, but he is snatching this week's King of Cute Funny Videos title from Liam, there's Nice To Meme Ya or Fan vs Artist Trivia, and of course, the Irish slang video! Is the best part him making fun of Americans (and scarily well) or him going "you know how English people will just be like lads lads lads" while waving his arms around (Louis texting him like lad do I have to give you a talking to as well I thought we covered this with Liam?) or is it how absolutely hysterical he finds the whole thing? You be the judge! Asked about whether he and his bandmates coordinate to avoid overlapping releases he says not at all and that's how you get this kind of pile up, and suggests that it happened because they all got in the habit of releasing new music this time of year and are still doing that. He posted an audio snippet of NTMY being workshopped, neat! He says he's delighted for Louis, that he's nailing a sound that's really right for him, and that Harry's album is really good.

Liam has a cover and interview for an Esquire Spain special issue, took a fan pic in London, and of course he still has cute funny videos coming out too! Just not as many all at once. He's chatting more about his Ant Middleton TV special/interview as air time gets closer, reminding us that we'll soon see him out there "enduring nature" in Nambia while being pressed for details about his personal life. The Hugo underwear packaging images are up now, as are cute bts pics and video from the Esquire shoot.

I’m back home from Latitude festival and have taken a day off to rest after a weekend of non-stop performances and fun in the sun. Today I’m sharing my photos and a review of the best bits of this year’s festival so read on to find out what went well and why you should book your ticket for next year right now!

Things have changed at Latitude festival. Some changes were almost imperceptible but elements of the festival have definitely improved over the years. I enjoyed this year’s festival more than ever and I’ve put it down to a number of elements that made it feel like a really special weekend…

MUSIC

It seems like an odd thing to say, considering that Latitude is a music festival, but I was pleasantly surprised by the music performances. The thing is, I don’t go to this festival for the music – I’m a comedy fan and let’s just say that it’s been a while since I listened to Radio 1 religiously. But this year’s line up had plenty of names I recognised and, I’m pleased to report, they actually performed the songs you want to hear.

The trouble with headline acts is that I’ve sometimes found that they’ve been performing songs from a new album and barely touch on the old classics that you are hoping to hear. But this year’s headliners, The Killers, did not disappoint. All the top songs were in their set – in fact, it was like listening to a greatest hits album so I happily bounced from song to song, singing along all the way.

The whole performance was punctuated with streamers, lasers and glitter canons, and it felt super-showbiz thanks to Brandon Flowers’ bright white smile and Vegas-style sequinned lapels. Liam Gallagher popped onto the stage for a bit but didn’t join in with a performance as he ‘didn’t know the words’! However, most of the crowd DID know the words so you can imagine how loud and excited the audience was when the band finished their set with a highly-illuminated rendition of Mr Brightside. It was my best festival moment EVER.

I also enjoyed the fact that so many local performers were in the line-up, including Bessie Turner (who I’d recently seen singing at Old Jet) who starred on the BBC Music Introducing stage on Friday night. The honour of kicking off the whole festival on Thursday evening went to local lad Skinny Rodgers and his band. They took to the Solas stage in the woods and drew a big crowd of early arrivers, giving the audience a chilled-out introduction to their weekend of fun.

VENUES

Another thing that I didn’t think I’d be writing much about in my review post is the location. I mean, it’s at the same place every year, right? But what I want to tell you about is how much the venues within the festival have improved this year. First of all, I’d like to give the organisers a big hand for increasing the capacity of The Comedy Arena and The Speakeasy. Both have been given a ‘big top’ makeover, with much more space for a larger audience. I think that Festival Republic has realised just how many visitors attend to see non-music performers and have improved these stages no end. Another thing I enjoyed was that the venues themselves had been ‘dressed up’ for the occasion. The Lake Stage had hundreds of pretty ribbons flowing out around the edges, attached to flower-covered poles. This made the space around the stage feel bigger and created a canopy that felt like an indoor arena. The comedy tent was dressed up with purple and pink sails, and the Solas stage was probably one of my favourites with stretched canvases decorating the front.

AROUND THE ARENA

I noted an improvement in the general decor of the arena as a whole. The layout seemed to be more thought-out with a street feast dining zone in the centre. All the food vendors seemed to be smaller, independent companies and there was a wider variety of cuisines available. The food area was decorated with fairy lights, lanterns and had long tables laid out school canteen style in the centre. Even the plastic chairs had that back-at-school in the 90s look. There were interesting art installations around the arena too, providing plenty of opportunities for instagram photos. A twirling umbrella installation provided seating during the day and lit up at night. A circle of pallets covered by a bunting-and-fairy-lights ‘teepee’ was a cute meeting place. Even more pallets were stacked up as sign-posts to direct visitors to the different arenas, and they too were illuminated in a rainbow of colours at night. In fact, in the evening, every vista looked twinkly, magical and was lit up in vivid hues.

I can’t be sure if more signs have been added for the stages but I spotted so many glitter-covered signs, neon words and oversized circus-style illuminated letters. It’s like the organisers hopped inside my mind and created the kind of festival arena ‘decor’ that dreams are made of. Oh, and there was a second Latitude sign in front of the BBC Music Stage, providing another place for groups to pose for photos.

COMEDY

Comedy is the reason I go to Latitude festival so you can probably imagine how happy I was to see a comedy arena without walls and with plenty of space for the audience. Even from the hessian barriers at the far reaches of the arena you could see the stage and easily watch the performer on the large screens. I still preferred to be in the centre of the arena (out of the sun and in amongst the action) so I got there early to get a great view of my favourite comedians.The comedy tent was predictably heaving for the first show on Friday morning: QI Live. Hosted by Sandi Toksvig and featuring 4 comedians, it was bound to draw a big crowd of comedy and TV fans alike. Of course, Alan Davies was part of the panel and I’ve been a big fan since watching him perform in the What’s Up Dockers charity gig in the 90s. I hadn’t seen him perform live since, and was delighted to catch his set on the Saturday afternoon. After the hilarious live QI show I stayed put and enjoyed a further 12 comedy performances that day. Highlights included Joel Dommett, Matt Richardson, Rachel Parris and Jayde Adams, (who both incorporated songs into their sets) and Angela Barnes, who I’d recently seen at Cambridge Junction.

It wouldn’t be Latitude festival without Marcus Brigstocke (who was on the QI panel, as well as performing his own set) but no-one could have imagined what his new show would be like until he marched onto the stage in full costume and make-up. There were plenty of comedians on the other stages too, so I kept an eye on The Speakeasy, The Cabaret Theatre and the Music & Film Arena, where we saw Richard Ayoade in conversation about his films, northern rising star Chris Washington, one of our festival favourites Eshaan Akbar, uber-famous James Acaster, Jack Barry (the face of McCoys) and must-see comedian Jen Brister.

We’d be here forever if I was to list all the acts I saw in the Comedy Arena, but I will mention my absolute favourite of the whole festival: David O’Doherty. I first saw him perform with his tiny keyboard at Latitude in 2016 and it was the funniest thing I’d ever seen. I mean, tears of laughter funny. I’ve been keeping an eye on his website for performance dates ever since and I’d just booked tickets for his upcoming UK tour. So when I spotted his name on the line-up I knew exactly where I would be on Sunday at 2:25pm. My husband went off to see Reggie Yates in the Speakeasy (where he got his book signed, good ol’ Reggie!) but I stayed put for another killer performance by David O’Doherty – how does he keep come up with new songs that get me rolling on the floor laughing? Brilliant delivery and genius keyboard skills.

There were countless live recordings of podcasts all weekend, and I particularly enjoyed Pappy’s Flatshare Slamdown, which went on well into the night on Friday. The final show of the festival for us was John Cooper Clarke’s poetry performance in The Speakeasy. We made sure we got there about an hour before the show to get a space and I’m glad that we did, as the arena quickly filled up to full capacity when his performance was about to begin. The combination of exceptional poetry and cheeky jokes was a winning combination to finish the weekend on a high.
