Nothing is more devastating than this. The UN World Food Program has officially suspended aid delivery to northern Gaza, citing violence and lack of safety as major reasons the aid trucks aren’t getting through. Israeli officers are liberally shooting at Palestinians who try to approach the trucks in hopes of getting even the smallest morsels of food, despite the fact that Israel has allowed only one crossing for the already woefully low numbers of aid they’re permitting entry. Reportedly this number has fallen from 140 a day in January to just 60 a day this month, and now 16% of all Gazan children under 2 are “acutely malnourished.” Meanwhile, the US vetoes a call for a ceasefire for the third fucking time. It’s so inhumane in its cruelty it’s actually shocking to see it being allowed to go on and on, and on an international level no less.

Two Liberal MPs in the Toronto area have broken ranks with the Trudeau government regarding Israel’s assault on Gaza, endorsing an arms embargo on Israel until it complies with international law.

As of March 11, Israel’s attacks have killed more than 31,000 people in Gaza, including 12,300 children, according to Palestinian health officials. Another 8,000 people are believed to be buried under rubble.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military continues to impede deliveries of humanitarian aid entering the besieged enclave, and has repeatedly fired on aid trucks.

Israel has published intel retrieved on Dec 18 from Hamas headquarters in Gaza, on how Hamas was using a network of fake Facebook profiles, pretending to be Israelis living abroad, and looking to hire Israeli Jews to make deliveries for them. First, they were meant to be innocent deliveries, in order to "groom" the Israelis for the moment when they will unknowingly be helping Hamas to deliver explosives. This was carried out by, among others, terrorists released in the 2011 Gilad Shalit hostage exchange deal (where Israel exchanged 1,027 Palestinian prisoners for the release of one captured Israeli soldier), who had a better knowledge of Hebrew and of Israeli due to their time in Israeli prisons. The terrorists released in the Gilad Shalit deal include Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza.

Israeli soldiers in Gaza have reached a cemetery for British soldiers who died there during WWI. The Brits usually buried their soldiers where they died. Among the British soldiers who fought and died in Gaza during that war were Jewish ones, too. I've seen people using the good state of their graves to claim that in Gaza, they are very respectful of Judaism itself, that it's evidenced by how they treat Jewish graves well, and it's only Zionists they have an issue with. What they leave out is that this cemetery was so well preserved because it's NOT a Jewish one, it's British. I found a pic where you can specifically see the grave of a Christian soldier, with a cross on the tombstone, buried next to the grave of a Jewish man, with a Star of David engraved. In comparison with this British cemetery, we can talk about the ancient Jewish synagogue in Gaza, that was appropriated and turned into a mosque (that they then used for terrorist activity, leading to its destruction in this war), or the modern synagogues left behind by Israel when it withdrew from Gaza in 2005, which were burned down by the Palestinians.

For several days now, protesters have been headed down south to where aid trucks pass from Israel to Gaza, in an attempt to block them. I wanna emphasize that they are NOT looking to deprive civilian Gazans of aid, they are just saying that humanitarian aid should be given in exchange for humanitarian aid making it to the Israeli hostages held in Gaza. On different days, the protesters have been sometimes more successful, sometimes less, but what's clear is that Israel is doing its best not to allow this, arresting protesters, and temporarily declaring the roads leading to the Gaza crossings as closed military areas.

In Sweden, a suspicious object was found next to the Israeli embassy, meaning they fear it was an attempted bombing. In an interview, the Israeli ambassador said that the staff is sure that's what it was, that the Swedish police is handling it, and they have no further information. The Israeli embassy in Sweden has recently been a target for Hamas' terrorists in Europe.

Sweden is now the 18th financier suspending their funding of UNRWA. In Germany, there are voices calling for the dismantling of it completely. I'm gonna attach a piece about that in Hebrew, but the Germans being interviewed are speaking in English, so it shouldn't be a problem to understand them. The first speaker is Uwe Becker, an amazing ally to Jews, who has been in charge of fighting antisemitism in the German state of Hessen, the rest belong to the democratic liberal party FDP, which is a part of the coalition.

Meanwhile, Norway, Ireland, Spain, Denmark and Belgium are continuing their funding to UNRWA, despite its ties to Palestinian terrorist organizations. Let it be remembered that Norway, Ireland, Spain, Denmark and Belgium have no issue with their money going to antisemitism and anti-Jewish terrorism.

The amount of pics and vids coming out of Gaza, showing weapons and rockets being hidden inside UNRWA schools, facilities and bags is insane, so I kinda stopped repeating myself with them at some point, but here's another one, fresh from today, explosives and mines found inside a bag with the UNRWA logo.

It only took several decades of people in the music industry knowing Roger Waters is an antisemite, and several very long years of the public starting to see it as well, for Waters to be fired by his music company, BMG. People are now connecting the news to an interview he gave back in November, in which he of course accused Jews for his firing.

This is 24 years old Ran Gevili.

On Oct 7, he was at a hospital, awaiting surgery. When he heard the news, he didn't hesitate and left for the area attacked by Hamas terrorists to help. At 10:50 in the morning, he sent his friends a message on WhatsApp that he's been shot twice in the leg. He was thought to be kidnapped, but today it's been confirmed that he had been murdered that day by Hamas, and his body is being held hostage in Gaza. May his memory be a blessing.

I'm seeing some union support but not many stories about what exactly a strike can be like to experience personally, which I certainly didn't know about before it happened. I think more of us should share experiences.

When I was on strike, there was a period when I had the assignment to ride around on a bicycle and photograph every dumpster at our worksite, mark locations, and find out which fellow unions were in charge of emptying them.

(this didn't end up happening because my health collapsed, but it was something I was expected to do)

The reason for this was that we had sympathy from groups like the Teamsters who drive UPS trucks. By law they could refuse to deliver across a picket line, but that line could not be the metaphorical line of a struck workplace. It had to be a literal picket line and as our internal support for the strike flagged we were going to send groups of about 10 people to form picket lines around dumpsters and loading docks.

Because keeping our wages so low was driving a large and comfortable margin of profit for our employer, losing a large portion of their workforce to our labor action didn't do that much. We had workers at other sites waking up early to form picket lines at worksite construction sites, and picketing loading docks, stopping deliveries of substances that needed to be frozen, which ruined them.

We had a strike kitchen which served a lot of bad coffee and butternut squash.

We had riotous memey chats and constant arguments with our union staffers, fellow workers, and everyone split on whether to demand disability rights and childcare or give up or what. We were constantly, nonstop fighting. My phone would overheat and I'd look at it at 11 PM with more than new 900 signal messages.

At one point there were serious and pointed conversations about whether the lead negotiator for the other side was hexing our guys and about whether we needed to supply the bargaining team with protection from the evil eye.

We had folks scouting ahead on bikes ahead of the lines checking for cops.

We had multiple cars charge our picket line and clip workers.

We had a picket line drag show.

We shut down bus access to our worksite for days by staging a dance party around the entrance to the terminal for hours. Bus systems need to be reliable for them to be worth running. After blocking the terminal enough times our employer shut down the bus.

We had folks from HR standing far off and taking photographs of our pickets and movements. I got a feeling of constantly being watched, both by worksite labor relations and the staffers in my own union.

We had local anarchists barricading entrances to the worksite with makeshift structures, including just a wall of bikes. One of the barricades was charged by a car, which dragged a bike beneath it for some 50, 60 feet.

The anarchists also liberated workplace cafeterias so that for hours and hours no one had to pay and everyone ate for free, they spread leaflet material that was anti-union boss at our staging area and ran away, they chalked up anti-cop messages. How we loved 'em!

Staffers tried to go behind my back to pull another lead strike captain for my turf but they didn't succeed in cutting the head off the snake. My companions were true to the end.

Some of them are now organizing their apartment buildings. Some won positions in union leadership.

We passed a contract that we all agreed was horseshit, with inadequate protections, and we're all-in now on defending the letter of it as our employer tries to claw it back.

Support the labor movement. Corruption happens, but it isn't the job of bystanders to regulate or manage it.

The union is the people and right now, we need support for every strike, every time. One day longer... one day stronger... to the line, to the line, to the line.

A cemetery truck was ruined when truck drivers went on strike (if the barrel of the cement truck isn't always spinning the cement will harden in the barrel and it'll ruin the entire thing). And the Supreme Court has rules that companies can sue strikers for property loss caused by the strike.

Which isn't the landslide loss that union leaders were fearing.

But it's still not good news as it makes it easier for companies to sue workers on strike if they deem there was property loss caused by the strike.

Two of the courts’ most liberal justices, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, joined in the majority opinion, which said, “the Union’s choice to call a strike after its drivers had loaded a large amount of wet concrete into Glacier’s delivery trucks strongly suggests that it failed to take reasonable precautions to avoid foreseeable, aggravated, and imminent harm to Glacier’s property.”

TMI probably but my period started a couple days ago and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the women and young girls in Gaza who have no running water or access to the menstrual supplies that they need.

People on their periods under the rubble, women that are pregnant and experiencing labor pains, women who have miscarried from the stress and bodily harm of the occupation. Women that are postpartum and are now at heightened risk of infection. Mothers trying to breastfeed but can’t because of dehydration.

Doctors are running out of everything and are at the point where they are sourcing vinegar from corner stores to clean wounds. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza cannot be understated and won’t be fully actualized for years to come. There are hundreds of Egyptian truck drivers and delivery workers camped out at the Rafah border beating down the gate trying to get essential supplies to the people of Gaza. The supplies are right there, the resources are there, the money is there, the will of the people is there.

Even if the siege ended right this instant and a ceasefire was called, many would still die from their wounds and infections that spread too far. There are millions to be saved and years of work ahead but liberation is possible.

Are we doing feminist driving discourse?

Well, you already know what I think, right?

Drivers license testing should be rigorous and difficult. It should absolutely not be easy. Everyone should be tested to the same standard. You should need to be just as skilled as a professional driver in order to drive a car. Minors should not have licenses. Drivers should have to retake the test every five years to prove they are skilled safe drivers. Any driver that hits a pedestrian or cyclist should get their license revoked permanently.

No car should be able to go over 60 miles per hour.

Cars are tools, not toys. Cars should mainly be for delivery drivers, maintenance workers, and first responders. Everything beyond that is redundant luxury private transportation.

"But what about feminist independence? What about my cross country road trips?"

Hey, guess what? Car companies do not love you like that. Fossil fuel companies are not going to liberate women. SUVs and big cabin trucks with 4 ft hoods are not a feminist girlboss symbol.

This is it. There's no more time left. It's not 2010. You can't fart around in your car for another decade eating ice cream and cheap cheeseburgers. If that's what you planned for your life, I'm sorry. It's not happening.

Adapt. We need to adapt. We need to adapt all the women in our towns. The most important feminist goal right now is climate mitigation, adaptation, and if we're lucky, restoration. If we don't accept this goal, that means we are not invested in women.

We are in an emergency situation right now. The media and the government do not want us to recognize that. They want us to be weak and helpless in the face of disaster so they can exploit us. Do not sit around and cooperate with their plan! Be bold! Adapt! Carry the women around you forward into the future!

Force fossil fuel interests out of your town and out of the lives of the women around you! Every time your town spends money on car infrastructure rather than public transit, that's fossil fuel interests at work. Every time you use your car when public transit is a viable option, that's fossil fuel interests at work. Every time you imply that a carless woman is a burden on others, that's fossil fuel interests at work.

If you're American, I know everything I'm saying here feels wrong in your gut. That's because of our American socialization. As Americans, we live in the petrostate imperial core. We are socialized into an all-encompassing car culture. Adapting and changing and seeking freedom from fossil fuel interests feels wrong because of how we're raised. We are socialized to believe that cars are freedom and car companies and fossil fuels give us freedom. The reality is, of course, the exact opposite. Car dependency makes it easier for police to track us and bully us. And fossil fuel dependency has stolen our freedom to live in a stable future.

Women will never be free unless we push back against American socialization.

Trains. Buses. Electric cargo bikes. Electric carts. Public community garages. Abolish private transportation. Let's go. Adapt.

For once, Hizashi is having a quiet evening. All his student English papers have been graded, next playlist for Put Your Hands Up Radio is done, their cats Melonpan and Mochi are both well fed and resting on his laps. Shouta is visiting his grandma, which means he doesn’t need to worry about his safety, no patrol tonight!

He chose a cooking show. While being very fond of them, his skills on the matter are not improving, so he ordered noodles from Haru’s. Maybe that’s because the shows focus more on spectacular technics and competition drama than actual cooking… Shouta is more a fan of the Gordon Ramsey show. His evil grin widening when the angry chef starts yelling.

Mochi, the younger cat, suddenly raises his head, staring at the door. That usually means the delivery man is about to knock! Hizashi gets up, but before he can reach it, the door opens, and a soaked Shouta comes in. He squats in the entrance, his back resting on the door, and stares at his shoes, but won’t untie them. His wavy hair is dripping on the blue and white tiles. His civil clothes, simple jeans and black T-shirt, are also soaked, like he walked the whole way from Nahurata to here.

Shou?... I don’t know if you are not talking, or if I cannot hear you.

Hizashi had been hard of hearing since his early childhood, as his quirk activated at birth, while his eardrums were not ready for such a shock. Shouta’s bass voice is usually easier for him to hear, and his diction impeccable. So the Voice Hero usually puts down his hearing aids when he gets home to have some rest from the parasite noises and buzz. Plus, Shouta started to learn JSL as soon as his first year at UA, shortly after meeting his soulmate.

I… (then he remembers to raise his head and look at Hizashi), I’m sorry. I’m coming. I think I had a bit of a panic attack… and I kept walking as fast as I could instead of taking the subway home.

Alright then, just classic Shouta behavior. I was afraid you got hurt on your way home. Naruhata is getting weird those days…

Rumors about a new drug gave Eraser Head and Tsukauchi extra work those last few weeks. But the investigation gave no result so far.

Shouta slowly gets up and rid of his wet clothes. His blond partner moves toward the kitchen and put the kettle on. He brews herbal tea for himself, and a black coffee for Shouta with the French press. For some reason this man cannot go to bed without his evening coffee… And French Press is the system that liberates the most caffein in a single cup. Is it the reason French people are so angry all the time?

Shouta reappears in the living room wearing his favorite pajamas: pink track pants and an oversized black tank top. The last one, showing a lot of shoulders, usually drives Hizashi a bit crazy. But tonight, Shouta looks like he’s been hit by the metaphorical truck. He crashes on the couch with a heavy sigh. The blond comes to him with both cups, and attempts a kiss on the chick, that’s welcomed by a low grunt.

One of those nights, I see…

No cuddles, I fear… I kinda… I almost had a fight with Nona…

Oh, we used to fight a lot, when I was younger… and dumber…

Shouta’s hair hides his face as he leans toward his coffee, both hands wrapped around the mug, eyes closed, to enjoy the smell of freshly grounded beans. He always had a hard time speaking out about conflict and feelings. Hizashi learned to give him time, and, as hard as it is for him, let the silence set in. After a while, Shouta raises his head again:

She was talking about neighborhood gossip. Mostly about her friends’ children and grandchildren, what they do for work, who they date, who is getting married. I just let her speak, I genuinely thought she just wanted to chat about it. Then her voice changed, and she asked, “what about you?”

Ho…

I asked, “what about what?” and maybe it came out rude, I don’t know… but she sighed and threw her hands in the air like I said something stupid. She said “You’re still living with a roommate, when are you going to grow up and find a nice girlfriend?”

Well… she didn’t bring up this topic for a long time…

And that’s why we were happy and not fighting anymore!

That couldn’t last for long… You’ll eventually have to come out to her…

I don’t understand why she would need me too! She won’t like it anyway!

But right now, she thinks you are lonely, that’s why she keeps talking about it.

Only because her definition of “happy” is doing the same things the children of her friends did. Anyway, why do you take her side?

Right! And that’s why I seriously considered telling her. So I can cut out with all the secrets and bullshit “roommate” situation.

And then I wondered about her reaction… and then I wondered what would happen if I did. And… suddenly I couldn’t speak at all. But she kept talking and talking about this neighbor, this cousin, someone else’s wedding… She always talks about what everybody else is doing. She used to be proud of me you know?

I guess she still is…

She has a funny way to show it. For a while, she was happy to have bragging rights about me getting into UA, and getting into the hero course… She was not that happy when I chose to become an underground hero, it’s hard to brag about that…

I guess right now all your former schoolmates are getting married, or having kids…

Right, everyone but me. And I don’t know what would hurt her more: thinking I chose to be single for life, or knowing I’m gay.

I don’t know either… she never said anything hurtful in front of me, and I’ve been openly bi for a while, on live TV and radio.

Because you are not her only grandson. She’s not like one of those awful anti-lgbt activist who try to make everybody miserable. But she’s not exactly an ally either. The things she’s said while watching tv with me… when the news talked about the Pride, or when there’s a gay character on her tv shows… She wouldn’t dare say that in someone’s face. But I know her true colors know. And they are not freaking rainbow!

I cannot tell you how to deal with your family. I have supportive parents, and a gay uncle who always supported me. I have no idea how things would have turn out without them…

Hizashi’s tea is resting on the table, cold. Shouta clings to his cup. The cats, acting as stress detectors, are glued to his side, purring to their maximum capacity. When it comes to his family, Shouta tends to avoid conflict, make himself scarce or straight up disappear for months. His grandma basically raised him, and there’s no way Shouta will ever confront her on that topic. That would be opening Pandora’s box. He would have to deal with the reality he has been wondering about for years. “Would she still love me if…”.

Shouta’s lids are fluttering, but his mind keeps him awake with anxiety.

Shou… we are not finding a solution to this problem tonight… you need to sleep.

I need to have a solution to this problem SO I can sleep.

Hizashi keeps an eye on him for the rest of the night. When Shouta slightly leans on a side of the couch, he puts a heavy blanket on him. 5 minutes later, he can hear him snoring. It was a logical ruse! There’s no reason Eraser Head would me the only one to use them!

A few weeks later, Shouta decided that it was not logical to cling at a conditional love and came out to his grandma. He didn’t let Hizashi accompany him in case she would be mean. He later described the conversation that followed as “a shipwreck”. She cried, yelled, had a one-way conversation with God, yelled more, asked what she did wrong… Eventually Shouta found 3 seconds of silence to interject that he’s happy as he is, that he’s not sick, has a loving partner and… Nona yelled some more.

After a few hours of yelling, Shouta decided that it was not logical to try to speak with someone unwilling to listen.

Hizashi planned a sweet escape vacation with Midnight and Tensei acting as emotional support friends. It showed that brooding over one’s Mojito on the beach is healthier for Shouta than brooding over his coffee at 3 in the morning on the couch.

After a few weeks of acting like the sky fell on her head and Shouta didn’t exist anymore, Nona Aizawa decided it was not logical to lose her only grandchild over something none of them can change.

It took a long time, finding her an LGBT-supporting church, watch 5 seasons of One Day at a Time, long talks over high quality coffee…

She ended up admitting Shouta and her are far more alike that she would admit. She left her family at 16 over a fight about the man she would marry. According to him, when the number of Russian artillery shots decreased to 50 thousand per day, the Russian soldiers no longer had good fire support for their attacks and their advance began to slow down. The Armed Forces of Ukraine then launched a counterattack, which resulted in some liberated areas (such as Kherson).

“In January of this year, the enemy fired 20,000 shells a day. Later, that number became 15 thousand and in the summer – 12 thousand”, said the representative of the 26th brigade.

Luckily I had played the game previously and knew that completing all the objectives on a map would earn some points, leading to an easier time of unlocking map two.Ĭhallenges are obviously locked (except the first one, of course) because you’re expected to move through each one in sequence, though if this is your first time playing Mudrunner then you’ll want to complete the tutorial and the original challenges to learn the ropes before diving into the new DLC challenges. Only one of the two new maps is unlocked and the vehicles are also locked behind the game’s Progression Point currency, and the game doesn’t really tell you how to earn these points in order to open up the content for which you have paid. Mudrunner was plagued by this issue of an almost arcade system of unlocking new vehicles and maps, and American Wilds does not address this problem. The problem I had with the DLC is just how much of it is locked at the start. Alongside that is a handful of new challenge missions, which show off some of the new vehicles and just add a bit more personality to the package. Spintires: Mudrunner – American Wilds (don’t you just hate multiple subtitles in a game’s name?) adds a couple of new maps to the sandbox single player mode, each with their own overall objectives and particular set of challenges to overcome in its environment. Just under a year ago, when I reviewed the original Spintires: Mudrunner game, I wrote: “With its pedestrian pace and delivery objectives, Mudrunner won’t appeal to an awful lot of people, but that doesn’t stop it being a fun and often relaxing experience.” In this new American Wilds expansion, not a lot has changed from the above, but I must say that it is still well worth your attention.
