Also when I made this a couple of days ago I wasn’t convinced about Arthur in a sporty role, but then my beloved tumblr husband and local ukus connoisseur @alifeasvivid pointed out that gruff football player Arthur x cheerleader Alfred make a great match.. so that just for additional consideration ;)

Usually I imagine everyone would just go along with the King and Queen titles in Cardverse regardless of gender since there is a set number of card roles, BUT–

It would be funny if Arthur fought against being called a queen. He goes around trying to change things and making everyone faint from shock. He doesn't care what the elders say, he wants it his way.

And while Arthur is supposedly in the role with less power, it could be argued that he has the same amount as Alfred if not more since he likely has a strong influence on Alfred. Arthur might even say that he is the one pulling the strings, because while the people listen to Alfred, Alfred listens to him.

Alfred: I am Alfred, King of Spades, and this is Arthur, Qu–

Arthur: I am Arthur, also King of Spades.

Person: Wait...if you're both kings, then which one of you is in charge?

Alfred: M–

Arthur: Oh, that would be me.

Alfred: Hey!

Arthur: You know it's true, dear.

Alfred: Don't...!! -whispers- You're embarrassing me!!

Arthur: At least people aren't trying to call you 'Queen'.

Person: Wait, but I thought Alfred was the real king?

Arthur: We're both real kings. If you mean that he ended up with the only 'king' title this kingdom offers, then yes, he did, but even then, I certainly hold no less influence – at least on him. Things are going to be a little different around here now during my reign.

Alfred is confused about the whole thing and keeps trying to insist that Arthur is the queen, but Arthur doesn't appreciate that and so, while he truly wants them both to be kings, he starts treating Alfred the same way to get back at him.

Alfred: -to anyone who will listen- There should only be one king, right? The coolest, most reliable, most confident one, don't you think?

Arthur: -passing by- I agree, Queen Alfred.

Alfred: THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT!!

Arthur: Do you prefer Prince Consort?

They get everyone in the castle involved with their silly 'battle'.

Alfred: Where are you going?

Servant: To assist King Arthur, Your Majesty.

Alfred: You mean Queen Arthur.

Servant: ...-nervous sweating because he doesn't know which side to take, but it seems like Alfred is the only one around- Um...right. Queen Arth–

Arthur: -turns around the corner-

Servant: King Arthur!

Alfred: No, Queen Arthur!

Servant: Behind you...

Alfred: I don't care if he's there! You say Queen Arthur!

Arthur: You say King Arthur.

Servant: ....Yes, King Arthur!

Alfred: Hey, why aren't you listening to me?!

Servant: I'm more scared of King Arthur's wrath...

Arthur: -beams- Why, thank you!

Alfred: That's not fair! You just haven't seen enough of my wrath yet!

This might sound hypocritical at first, but hear me out.

I find it frustrating when USUK is tagged as UKUS, but I don't mind if UKUS is tagged USUK. Why?

1. USUK tends to be used as the general ship name while UKUS is almost always meant to specify a preference. The terms are not totally interchangeable and the distinction exists for a reason.

2. When USUK can refer to a preference, that preference is more popular by far. If an occasional piece of UKUS pops up in all the USUK tag, it's not a big deal for USUK fans. They can still find plenty of USUK. However, when USUK fans use the UKUS tag just to expand their already large audience, it makes it near impossible to find any actual UKUS. Please, you get the majority of the ship content, just let us have this space.

3. Since nowhere near as many people think to search UKUS, sometimes the only way to get people to see the fanworks of it is to include it in the USUK tag (and it still makes sense, because like I said, USUK is also the general ship name.

I understand if the work is neutral/genuinely ambiguous. And no, being sfw doesn't make it ambiguous. I can still tell if something is obviously meant to be USUK (e.g. Arthur looks like a shoujo protagonist and Alfred looks like the cool guy love interest). But if I can't tell whether your work is USUK or UKUS, then tagging it as both makes sense.

Tl;dr: UKUS is a small section of USUK, but USUK is not a section of UKUS. We just want a tag where we can actually find what we're looking for. 😭
