Qotd: what do you consider to be cheating on your partner? ... Beneath the Door-Book1 of the Chrysals Saga is an exceptionally written suspense. I enjoyed guessing throughout the book. It has a slow pace though but nonetheless It was a good read. I like the characters and the dialogues that went on between them. Most of all, the book has a lot of suspense! You can guess all you want like I did but at the end i realised I was terribly wrong. Totally recommend to mystery and suspense lovers. I didn’t mean to be absent for so long but it’s been a weird and unsettling time lately. White Is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi is one of my current reads. It’s so strange and surreal that I love it! Her writing reminds me of Toni Morrison’s in Beloved, which is a phenomenal book! I got it from my library but they’ve closed until further notice, so I can’t even go to stock up books! What are some of your favorite shows to recommend? - Besides the basic good directing and editing and cinematography, I really really like it when shows explore some hard themes. Personal happiness versus royal duty. Filial piety versus good of the people. Safety of life versus speaking the truth. . The Crown: one of the most perfect pieces of historical fiction drama on screen, fantastic editing and even better acting, the current standard of current television . Chernobyl: the directing alone deserves an Emmy, also the costume and set design, also the screenwriting, it’s so strong thematically and conceptually it makes literally everyone else look bad . Good Omens: the celestial gay love story with a perfect happy ending that we knew we deserved but never actually got. . Nirvana in Fire: if you want a crash course in the basics of Chinese court politics and princely succession wars, this is your guide, also a revenge story. . Goblin: gods in modern society done right, with a really cute romance and exploring the leitmotifs of reincarnation . Ashes of Love: one half is the usual “love triangle angst parental hatred angst l can’t love you I must love you angst” tropey mess.
