max and chloe arent fat lol
i like to think they could be, now!
they're away from the storm and the destruction of their hometown. they're finally living in a proper home together- somewhere where the town is small, and the neighbours are kind. they're safe from anything threatening to tear them apart again.
and without any worries- max not having nightmares or flashbacks anymore, and chloe mainly having worked through her survivors guilt- they get healthier. they sleep more, and the bags under their eyes leave. they shower more, and their skin returns to a rosy pink. their hair stops falling out in clumps, from the stress, and the fear, and sleep deprivation.
and they eat better now, too. moving on from late night energy drinks, and the ramen they made when they had no will to prepare anything else- now they cook together; three times a day. they try out new recipes more often than not. and it's calming for both of them- methodical- and chloe even gets (adorably) excited whenever max shows her a new recipe they can try that requires a more advanced skill level, because chloe is always up for the challenge.
so maybe they aren't fat in the actual canon game, but gosh.. isnt it nice to imagine? them now being so comfortable and healthy; sunken cheekbones filled out, and the grey having left their skin? they can eat together, rest, and not worry about anything besides doing the dishes and remembering to feed the birds in the morning.
the storm has passed. they're healthier now, and they're happy. try it some time

always (steph gingrich x f!reader)
PAIRING: Steph Gingrich x F!Reader.
SUMMARY: (Y/N) is asexual and when she starts catching feelings for a certain DJ, she’s unsure how Steph will react to her coming out.
REQUESTED BY: Anonymous.
With the festival being only minutes away, (Y/N) struggled to figure out what to wear. She was tempted to wear something a tad bit more revealing than what she would normally wear, as she did have a certain person in mind that she wanted to impress. And that person was Steph Gingrich, (Y/N)’s long-time crush and first friend in Haven Springs. Ryan was her second friend, and they had bonded over something only they talked about in private, and that was the meaning behind his black ring and how the two of them were Ace. Ryan knew the struggle of coming out with his Asexuality, as it had done it once with Gabe - before his untimely death, anyway...
(Y/N) had seen Gabe’s sister in passing, but she felt too bad for the girl to say anything of importance to her. She thought it best to stay away anyway, as the girl seemed to be on a journey of vengeance that (Y/N) was too worried to get involved in. Steph and Ryan, however, were very much involved, and while (Y/N) knew there was a good reason behind their want, and need, to find those responsible, she worried for her friends’ safety. And she made sure that they both knew that whenever Alex would come over to talk to them about it.
Shaking away her thoughts, (Y/N) got dressed and made her way over to the festival. She made a beeline for the stand where the roses were, and she quietly picked one out for Steph. She had psyched herself up all day for this very moment, and (Y/N) was not going to let anything stand in her way - and that included herself and her own insecurities surrounding her Asexuality. Ryan knew of her crush towards Steph, but had neglected to mention that Steph was very much into (Y/N) as well. He preferred to watch the love spark naturally, without pushing either of them together.
Ryan observed from the side of the stage as (Y/N)’s form made its way across the grounds and towards Steph’s mobile DJ booth. A grin automatically made its way onto Steph’s face once she spotted (Y/N) in front of her.
“Hey, (Y/N)!” She greeted a little loudly, making sure her voice could be heard over the music playing.
“Hey.” (Y/N) replied back, a shyer smile on her own lips as she slowly revealed the rose from behind her back. “I got you something.” Steph stilled for a moment, shocked by the gift that (Y/N) had brought her. It took a beat before Steph reached out to take it, her smile softer and almost sheepish in nature.
“I got you one, as well.” She admitted with a soft voice, leaning over to get the rose she had hidden away for (Y/N), handing it over to her with a light blush on her cheeks. “Admittedly, I did think you had the hots for Ryan, but I have been pleasantly surprised.” Steph joked, putting her headphones down so she could leave the confines of her booth and make her way towards (Y/N).
“Ryan?! God, no... I, uh, am definitely not into guys.” (Y/N) laughed awkwardly. She was into women, but romantically. Sexually, she wasn’t really into anyone, and she was aware that Steph was quite open about her strong love for women. But could Steph date an Ace woman? (Y/N) had pondered that question for quite some time, and she guessed that she could only really know the truth once she made the step towards finding it. So - that’s exactly what she was about to do.
“You sure hang out with him a lot... are you sure you’re not into him?” Steph continued the joke, oblivious to (Y/N)’s inner turmoil.
“I only hang out with him so much because we, uh... I’m- I’m Ace.” (Y/N)’s lips twitched awkwardly as she tried to gauge Steph’s reaction. “He helped me come up with some ways to come out to you, but... I guess I’ve not really gone with the script.” It did not seem to hit her, at first, but Steph’s eyes eventually widened and she looked (Y/N) up and down.
“I would have never have guessed that!” She exclaimed, her hand reaching out to take (Y/N)’s free one. “Were you... worried, or something? Like, worried I would be upset or confused about that?” Steph quirked a brow, and was met with a small nod as a response.
“I... I do really like you, Steph, I was just worried you might not want me because I am Ace. I’m still super gay, just only romantically.” (Y/N) tried to keep the mood light with a small joke towards the end of her confession, and Steph laughed at it with a small shake of her head.
“I would never not want you just because you are Ace. Like you said, you are super gay, and I’m even more super gay - we are a perfect match!” Steph’s grin was large and wide. “I will love you, no matter what. Hell, I’ll stay here in Haven Springs forever if you want me to. I love you for who you are, not because of who you are, or are not, attracted to. We don’t have to do anything like that if you don’t want to.”
Her words were comforting to (Y/N)’s ears, so much so the latter started to tear up. A worried look flashed over Steph’s face as she moved to wipe at (Y/N)’s tears. “No, no! Please don’t cry!” She spoke in a rushed voice, her hands gently cupping and holding (Y/N)’s face.
“I-I’m okay, I just... I’m just glad you accepted me, is all.” A sniffle came from (Y/N) before a bright smile made its way onto her face. “You should- you need to get on stage soon, right?” Directing the conversation elsewhere, (Y/N)’s eyes moved away for a second to look at the stage, before moving back to Steph’s loving eyes.
“I do, but you better be at the front, cheering me on!” Steph beamed. “Always.” Came (Y/N)’s reply, a gentle twinkle in her eye. Steph seemed happy with the girl’s answer, as she leaned forward to give the girl a gentle kiss on the cheek. “And after, we could sit by the lake? Maybe even come up with some lyrics together?” She suggested almost shyly.
“I would love that.” (Y/N) smiled as she adjusted a strand of hair, moving it behind her ear. She went to say something else before she noticed Ryan waving at the two of them from across the way.
“Looks like he’s ready for you. Are you ready to kick some ass?”
