is it not hard to just wear a mask? or call out if you don’t feel well? “oh i only felt a little off” wear a fucking mask or call out i don’t give a shit. “it’s not that big a deal” if you go out somewhere sick with no safety measures to protect other people you need to know you could potentially kill someone and i know this because people close to me have died because someone wasn’t careful when they got sick and went out and spread it

#my birthday is in 6 days and i was just informed one of my coworkers yesterday had early symptoms and tested positive today #i have 4 tests at least so i’ll probably test tomorrow afternoon (that’ll be 48 hours) and then again friday morning #im just tired of this. ‘i didn’t feel that sick when i went out’ I don’t give a rats ass #if you’re even feeling remotely sick and can’t get out of going somewhere you at minimum need to be fully masked up #if you go out sick and didn’t mask i hope it stays on your conscience forever #I hope it haunts you every day that you could’ve ended someone’s life #and i mean that genuinely. i hope you never escape your thoughts that you could’ve killed someone #coronavirus

I guess vaguely once a month is just how these things work now, I do try to read everyone's tags and replies and stuff but a lot of them I just don't really have anything to reply with sorry! as always I appreciate the supportive words and well wishes and stuff <3

I also love the trifurcation of responses to [go to bed]: one group of people is like "yeah u right I sleep now thanks", one is like "sorry but I can't", and one is just like "no! I refuse!!!" lol

I did get two different "posts that have 10k to me" tags though, on [one] that actually passed 10k and [another] that is still barely triple digits and will probably stay there XD

like honestly, scientifically speaking it is way more effective and more accessible than just leaning on vaccines, and it protects people from all kinds of stuff not just covid! but nobody wants to wear masks and even people who think they're being cautious just want to lean on vaccine requirements, which is doubly inaccessible for me personally and probably millions of other people :( stresses me out too.

it's fun! there's a lot of extra steps you can add in if you want to, but the absolute basics of it is just dump a bunch of paper strips into a bin, fill it with water, wait until it breaks up enough for your liking, then dunk some kind of stiff screen into it (horizontally) so you can pull out even layers of pulp to dry somewhere.

I'm the opposite tbh, I find the abbreviations really easy to follow but looking at a diagram for knitting and crochet just turns into like, visual noise if it's more complex than like, a single fan stitch or whatever.

honestly so valid, he's basically a character brand to me (like hello kitty or rilakkuma). I'm probably biased, but I feel like the best games to start with are either forgotten land (the one that came out on switch last year) or crystal shards (originally for the n64, also available through the nintendo online vc). I think they're the most visually appealing (aside from epic yarn which is not a mainline game) and while they reward exploration they're not as complex as some of the handheld titles to fully explore, nor are they as hand-holdy as some of the other console titles. a good middle ground of feeling like you did the thing, without being frustrating.

It has been One Of Those Days.

I spent a good chunk of the morning at the vet getting some potentially scary lumps on Sadie checked out. They ended up being regular lumps (sebaceous cysts, perfectly harmless and honestly normal for Sheps) and I was SO relieved and ready to ditch that stress and finally be able to enjoy the holiday -

And then my mom called over lunch to say she tested positive for COVID today.

So now I get to decide if I'm going to travel and just stay with a friend and minimize the time I spend with the family, or (more likely) cancel travel plans for the holiday entirely.

Because I have to work, and I have to take care of myself and Sadie, and I have to deal with travel plans for work in the new year, and I cannot afford to get knocked on my ass for a week or more - and that's before you even consider Long COVID or other health complications.

I absolutely hate this.

we've finally been hit by the plague after 3+ years, masking, etc, etc. 2 days of school and yep, it's got us.

i'm the last adult standing for now, tho i can feel it in my throat and the back of my neck, in the headache creeping in around the edges, in the pain in my hands.

i hate the system that led to this so much. not the kid, not the kid he got it from, but the system that encouraged it to happen. a week before i could've gotten another booster, instead i have COVID-19 for the first time.

in other news, tho, i put some spiced herbal tea in cider and made us all a treat while my body still functions a little.

The pandemic is getting out of control. I've come down with covid-19 yet again.

My whole house is sick, everyone is infected.

What is even more frustrating is that according to the government, covid-19 is no longer a problem. Which is a bunch of BS. 😑 So therefore my job won't pay me while I'm out again.

What are they expecting people to do? I just came back to work. I've been back a week and a half. I've only had time to earn for one paycheck. I haven't been paid in so long already. Now I'm going to be out again.

I'm beyond frustrated and stressed at this point. I'm immune compromised. My immune system doesn't tolerate covid-19 well. I'm out longer than what the government says you should be out for. Which I'm sure irritates my employer.

I'm chronically ill, I only go to work because disability has been giving me a hard time and I have yet to make my dream of social media provide me with any sort of income.

Despite work killing me faster, we live in a capitalist country and it's killing disabled people like me. And the United States Government is failing its people when it comes to the pandemic.

I'm really lost at what to do. And I'm having to worry about all this when I'm supposed to be getting better. I'm becoming very depressed again.

cannot even begin to describe how suicidal i was in june-oct 2020 tho fr fr it was like full body electric bone melting disease 24 hours a day 7 days a week for 7 months 🫡

On the plus side, I got to cancel all my weekend plans guilt free and am now chilling with tea, chocolate and fanfic after a meditative morning of garden work.

The downside is that this is because I'm quarantining, seeing as my boss yesterday confirmed that she is indeed sick with Covid after spending all of Thursday sneezing and coughing in my direction instead of keeping her feverish ass in bed at home.

(Seriously, what is it with old people and their martyr complex. You are not doing anyone any favours! You should be in bed for your own health, and we can spare you just fine at the office. Not to mention that I'll MUCH rather spend a week doing twice the work than getting sick. And if you absolutely have to feel indispensable? WORK THE FUCK FROM HOME.)

So glad I got my booster shot despite everyone pretending this pandemic is over. 🙃
