9 in Numerology
There’s a lot of people who talk badly about this number but I personally believe it’s because they’re trying to hide the power of it. I don’t agree with the bad things a lot of numerologists say about it or with a lot of what numerologists say in general so a lot of this will be things you probably haven’t read online
Tumblr media
🕊 9’s are not master numbers but they do have an ability no other number has which is to enhance others numerological energy and make them a better version of themself. They are also one of the most creative life path numbers
🕊 9’s get along the least with 11’s. Romantically/sexually we sometimes will still be attracted to our enemy number though so you have to force yourself to avoid them. Usually bad things happen when these numbers come together. It’s also seen in many world events such as the 9/11 twin tower incident, the flight 191 (unscrambled 911) crash, the number 911 to call in negative situations, etc. You should also avoid flying on 9 days, 11 days, or 7 days
🕊 9 is one of the numbers of beauty in numerology. These people are often seen as some of the most beautiful people by society unless they have bad karma they have not yet worked through. They must work through karma to have a glow up. Karma shows in your appearance
🕊 Many people with a 9 in their birthday are performers, singers, rappers, or some kind of entertainer. They were basically born to be a star
— examples: elvis presley, justin bieber, ariana grande
🕊 9’s are one of the most intelligent numbers and tend to be one of the smartest people in the room since it represents the mind. They’re very deep people that are often misunderstood and seen as “stupid” but when you get to know them you’ll find that they’re highly intelligent and spiritually connected
🕊 9 is a femi(nine) number which is why they’re highly connected to the spiritual realm just as women are. Women’s body’s are a literal portal. It’s how a spirit can enter their womb and come into this world. Women are very powerful spirits
🕊 Many numerologists try and say 9 life path’s are the youngest souls or that they’re dumb or naive but this is a complete lie. The youngest souls in the matrix are life path 1’s and life path 3’s (not that this is a bad thing it doesn’t mean they’re stupid)
🕊 Since I’ve said so many positive things about 9’s I will mention some of their negative traits is that they can sometimes be egotistical, they can have lots of ups and downs with their love life, they can sometimes be scammers, and they can easily manipulate others since they can easily appear as something they’re not
🕊 Going off of the last note because people with 9 energy can easily appear as something they’re not they tend to make amazing actors as well. The type of actors who are so talented you forget they’re acting sometimes
— examples: johnny depp (9 day), timothee chalamet (9 day and life path), morgan freeman (lifepath 9), marilyn monroe (born in a 9 year)
🕊 A lot of men born under 9 energy can be hardcore simps and obsessed with women which personally I find attractive. Depending on their other numbers they sometimes tend to be on the more feminine or soft side too
🕊 A random fun fact about 9 is that anything you multiply by 9 will always reduce to 9 again. 9 is everything/infinity. Example: 9x5=45 -> 4+5=9 — 9x10=90 -> 9+0=9
🕊 9’s chase things that cause them to have extreme emotions and highs. They’re most likely to be a serial killer for this reason (not all are killers but usually killers have either an 8 or 9 in their birthday). This is coming from someone born on a 9 day so I don’t hate 9’s I actually love them. There’s a lot of 9’s that are very good people so I don’t mean most people and am not intending to be negative/hateful toward 9’s as a whole
— example: john wayne gacy

𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐓𝐇𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐈𝐍 𝐍𝐔𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐘
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everybody has 5 NUMBERS in their birthday that affect their life and persona according to Numerology. The most important is your lifepath number but the others matter too
First Number: The day you were born
Second Number: Your life path number
Third Number: The sum of the month you were born and the day of the month you were born
Fourth Number: The month you were born
Fifth Number: The year you were born
Let’s use Drake as an example
His birthday is October 24, 1986
》 Drake has 6 in his birthday which is the number of family and he’s very family oriented, he has a 4 which is the number of hard work and he’s always out working he said he hates laying around doing nothing, and his last number is 7. One of the things 7 represents is gambling which would explain his gambling addiction
》 His first number is 6 (24 -> 2+4=6)
》 His second number is 4 (october is the 10th month -> 1+0 = 1+2+4+1+9+8+6=31 -> 3+1=4)
》 His third number is 7 (1+2+4=7)
Let’s use Elon Musk as another example
His birthday is June 28th, 1971
》 Elon is one of the wealthiest people in the world right now and 28 is the number of wealth. He’s also know for how smart he is and 7 is the number of intelligence. He has two 7’s in his birthday
》 His first number: 28 (this is a special number so we don’t reduce it down to one digit but normally you would)
》 His second number: 7 (6+2+8+1+9+7+1=34 and 3+4=7)
》 His third number: 7 (June is the 6th month so 6+2+8=16 and 1+6=7)
Finally let’s use Theo Von as an example
His birthday is in March which is the 3rd month
》 He is a comedian and famous for being funny. 3 is the number of comedy and child-like energy

Books I Read in 2024, #6: Runequest: Roleplaying in Glorantha (Greg Stafford Steve Perrin Jeff Richard Jason Durall and friends, Chaosium Inc., 2019)
Tumblr media
A bronze age-styled fantasy epic setting originally published in 1975 (as White Bear and Red Moon), Glorantha is one of the founding touchstones of fantasy storytelling in the RPG space that draws upon historiography and a firm integration of magic and mysticism into the firmament of its setting.
My first experience with Glorantha, like a great deal of others, was King of Dragon Pass. I don't remember exactly where I first heard about it. It's either on SA in the LP subforum back in the early 2010s or Tumblr in the same era; if it's the latter, Jared is entirely to blame for this, and probably because of him telling me stories about it in my car over the years.
King of Dragon Pass is a management game in which you play the tribal leader of a Heortling group exiled from their homeland in the wake of Belintar's accession to the throne in the Holy Country of Esrolia, forced to travel to the forbidden land of Dragon Pass where centuries ago the Dragonkill War wiped the land clean of all human presence. For you see, the Dragonkill War was named not for what we did to the dragons, but what dragons did to humanity.
Glorantha is like that.
Glorantha sticks in my mind easily, to be honest. It draws such a stark picture of itself so quickly you can't help but feel arrested by how committed it is to being itself. The Gods are so real that reenacting their greatest deeds invests you with their awe-inspiring power, and the Runes they wield are so bound into the fundament that embodying and studying them allows you to manipulate reality directly yourself.
The game itself is straightforward; every skill is rated from 0 to 100, and you roll 2d10 to roll under your skill rating, which you can further influence by channeling your passions or the Runes that represent you. Its character creation is delightfully baroque and fitting with the focus on historiography: you roll to generate the general lifepath of your parents and your own history in the last 21 years of Dragon Pass' history, during an eventful lead-up to the Hero Wars starting in 1625 when the world will enter a true tumult as empires face off.
I really just love the little things about the world here. Glorantha is detailed in the way that only a seasoned reader of history would be, with a light touch to give you plenty of room to imagine your own tribes in the region, the foibles of each village that give it real texture. The book grounds you in the idea of being from each ethnic group, the stereotypes others hold for them and the realities of their lives.
More than once it states that the Orlanthi recognize 6 gender roles and 7 forms of marriage, which is both a refreshing acknowledgement and also just a good reminder that societies for centuries have seen things in ways that would be foreign to the modern reader, and that you have to think of these societies in the context they've been shaped by.
The various pantheons of the world rule. I could evangelize about Orlanth, the god of storms all day, but it rules that the chief god of the largest and best-known pantheon, the Lightbringers, is the god of the season of utter disaster where life becomes cheap and dangerous, which i suppose makes sense as far as who you would beg to for survival during.
It's combat is dangerously swingy, in a way that kind of rules, in that you can plan for a lot of bad things to happen but you really can't stop that 5% roll from putting a javelin through your soft palate. This is your granddaddy's RPG, there's no luck recovery methods. You die, you beg the local priest for a resurrection and pay him handsomely for the privilege and don't do that shit again.
It just sticks in the mind for me. Very few other RPGs take the sort of careful, historically and culturally-focused bent on producing and placing a world in the way that Glorantha does. It feels lived in and loved, with a clear idea of itself and what it wants to be. I wish I could say the same for more games in the space.

hey lew i have a question about fitting in - do you know how to get over that feeling of insane inadequacy caused by meeting young people in un / eu structures? children of diplomats who went to the best universities in europe and speak 5 languages? i know all i can do is just work on myself but i've met some people who seem born to do it and i'm a little taken aback now lol
here is the thing - i know the international organizations space makes you feel like everyone else is always light years ahead of you and as if you are surrounded by unwavering, committed wunderkinds while barely hanging on. but that's not because you are any less committed or capable of doing the work, or because you failed at choosing your career or lifepath, but because making half-truths seem promising is the first thing you learn in the sector. soft skill numero uno. so of course everyone is great at presenting themselves - that's their expertise! don't let them fool you into thinking that they never fail or struggle. that's just how they learned to talk about themselves in their expensive grad school.
speaking of which. what you see as your disadvantage is actually your biggest asset. because while these people have expertise in talking about world history in five languages and brandishing expensive degrees, they have never interacted with a normal person in their life. you can tell, and other diplomats can tell, and hiring managers can tell, that they are full of shit, and most of the jobs in the international sphere if not all require the level-headedness and the humility of having done your own laundry at least once, and most of the people who seem so great with their slightly to bright smiles during small talk do not have that humility, and it will bite them in the ass.
is it advantegous to have been to a big uni name and speak a lot of languages? of course. but so is hard work, a clear portfolio and set of skills, enthusiasm and knowing why you want to do what you want to do and, most crucially, the ability to hold a conversation that is not about yourself, and many of the most shiny people lack all of those. you can use that to your advantage. the fact that you are considering the sector seriously and know who you are up against is your biggest asset. don't let them psych you out, find your field, and go for it. let them trip over their own pompous cloaks in their due time . you got this brother. godspeed.

Questions for Writers
I was tagged by @corpocyborg! Thank you, bb!! ♡
Last book I read: I still haven't finished There's No Such Thing as an Easy Job Kikuko Tsumura I started back in January, lmao. Not for any reason other than I just haven't been in the right headspace to sit down and read for the past few months--What I have read of it is great, so hopefully, I can make the time to pick it up again.
Greatest literary inspirations: I like the female protags in Karin Slaughter novels, and I love Tanya Huff's Torin Kerr from her Confederation series--I'm sure they've inspired me on some level. Oh, and Phedre from Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel books, too, although it's been ages since I read those. But I think most of my inspiration actually comes from other forms of media. I love the action babes of the late 90s/early 00s: Lara Croft is the number one inspo here, and pretty much all of Michael Turner's comic girls but especially Sara from Witchblade. And I think Better Call Saul is easily one of the best-written shows ever made--That's one I always go back to when I feel like I need to refill the inspo well.
Things in my current fandoms I want to read but I don't want to write: I have a confession: I usually only read a ton of fic when I first get into a fandom and I can't get enough and I just want to soak it all up, but after a certain point, I just don't have a lot of headspace for other people's stories. 😬 I feel bad about it sometimes, and it's not like I never read anything after that point, but 90% of the time, what I wanna write is what I wanna read. It's kind of a closed loop, I guess.
Things in my current fandoms I want to write but I think nobody would be interested in them but me: Well, I'm not at all deterred by being the only person interested in something I write, haha. One of my favorite one-shots I've ever written is between my Cousland and Hawke meeting briefly at Ostagar, and it's probably my least popular fic on AO3 by a big margin. But I do like deep-diving into my own OCs, and it generally is harder to get an audience for fic that doesn't have canon characters. Ain't gonna stop me, though!
You can recognize my writing by: Lots of pining and banter; obvious thesaurus abuse
My most controversial take (current fandom): Yeah, no, not gonna be sharing my actual most controversial takes, lmao.
But I do also love the Devil ending! I don't think there's one objectively "best" ending--What's good for one V isn't necessarily good for another--But for my Valerie, it suited her story the best. I love the poetry of her going back to Arasaka after getting fired by them, I love storming Arasaka Tower with Goro, I love the conflict with Johnny, I love making Goro confront how fucked up the Arasakas are, I love the possibilities of Mikoshi--The only way it would have been better for me is if this nixed idea had actually been put into action.
And I wish we could roleplay a V that is actually more "pro"-corpo in the game, especially if we had the corpo lifepath. Sticking it to the man is sexy and all, but I just love delving into characters that align themselves with shitty institutions and exploring different motivations (I personally like cynical pragmatism/self-preservation and delusional idealism) that lead a person there.
Top three favorite tropes: 1) Rivals to friends to lovers 2) Mutual pining 3) Forced proximity
What’s your current writing mood (10 – super motivated and churning out words like crazy, 0 – in a complete rut): Like, 0.5, lmao. I've been rereading and organizing my WIPS, so there's some effort being put in there, but I'm very much in one of my "ummmm, how do I even write fiction?" phases.
Share a random frustration: I have ZERO discipline when it comes to writing. I need to be in a fully feral, totally isolated from distractions place or I just can't get shit done. When I'm in the zone, I'm in the fuckin' zone, but I get like 3 months of that every 5 years, lmao.
Tagging (with no pressure, as always) @ur-friendly-nbhd-cardassian, @dread-red-queen, @vorchagirl, and @aceghosts <333

Nobilis 4 Status
At the Shore - not in yet, but probably mostly the same
rule zero: identified
Intro Chapter #1: some text exists
Interlude 1: written, needs tweaks towards the end
Example of Play 1: currently blank
Intro Chapter #2 (concepts, if a separate chapter): some yellow highlighter and wiggly bits, but done enough that I’m leaving the rest for when I can do a full-book or at least full-opening edit
Setting Chapter #1: solid, pending said edit
Setting Chapter #2: not started, except a bunch of finished text that I thought was going in #3 got dumped here during revision of same.
Setting Chapter #3 (Imperators): done-ish, pending #2 and #4
Setting Chapter #4 (Excrucians): some general text done, other general text floating around in yellow highlighter, one Excrucian type done, another mostly done.
^ (this is where I was today, in between being interrupted every bloody twenty minutes by my timing beep cube to tell me to do my PT.)
Setting Chapter #5: I am not clear if this will exist or not. Not started, anyway, in part because it is one of two different possible things, and I think they may overlap with #2 and #6 respectively.
Setting Chapter #6 (Orders, res, etc): basically done, I had some notes while working on other stuff so I’ll have to look at those.
Example of Play 2: currently blank
The Essence of Nobilis: finished, but possibly dated? Possibly not, I think the most recent rules draft was done before it was.
The Creation of a Campaign: currently blank
Campaign Suggestions: currently blank
Rules Chapter #1-9: done, though slowly accumulating little notes to self and such (e.g., two more magics, currently just blank headings, have appeared in the mortal magics section since I did that bit) as I work on other things.
Interlude: Mystic Links: needs a tonal pass, possibly a couple similar interludes
Rules Chapter #10-11: done, same as #1-9. Some notes at the end that I need to deal with.
Rules Chapter #12: a decision yet to be made, a bunch of highlighter but mostly just things I need to doublecheck when all is complete
Rules Chapter #13-15: done
Example of Play 3-4: I probably already decided where they go and just missed them while zooming through.
Flowers Design: floating around in the uncertain “possibly will do”
3e-like Lifepath: same
Seven Flowers: someone reminded me of this story that was almost the intro fiction for Nob2 and maybe it will go somewhere, dunno.
Timeline Appendix, Other Appendices: ???
rule one: not yet defined
Index: hahaha
Art: I have a few pieces but mostly this will either wait until I finish layout and then figure out how I’m going to fund it.
Layout: no
It’s currently around 350k words but there’s also a bunch of Nob2 and Nob3 stuff on Excrucians and setting just kind of floating around as placeholder stuff until I overwrite it---not even usable stuff, it’s just there because it’s easier to have it in the same file until it isn’t. I’m guessing it’ll hit 350-370k at the end, after deleting that but also writing the stuff noted above. Glitch was 300k+ words, so if I work closely with layout tweaking sentences until I find versions that work that also save lines that’s ~500 pages; if I don’t, ~650?

Saw you post about Reign's character generation. Could you explain in brief how it works exactly? I've heard lots of praise for it but never bothered to figure out how it actually works and would love to hear it from you.
So Reign's random lifepath chargen is fun at least partly because it's weirdly transparent about how it works.
The default character creation in Reign is point based. Starting level characters get 55 points to build on.
What one roll chargen does is set a point cost for each die- 5 points, so for the default character creation, you roll 11d10, guaranteeing you always have at least one matching set- 2 of a single number.
(Reign's an ORE game so it's all about matching sets of d10s)
Each number has a sort of theme to it- 1s may be about being a thief or beggar king type, for example, and as you get more 1s you get skills and stat increases relevant to that. 2s may be about being a culturally appropriate wizard, and you get spells and attunement to a magic school, etc. 3s, 4s and 5 could be a fighting style- 3 could be archery, 4 about being militia soldier and 5 could be themed around being a axe-wielding berserker.
Etc.
So you roll a a lot of 1s and 3s and you become a stealth archer, manifested by the will of Todd Howard.
but you might ask 'what about the spare dice that don't have matches?'
They're still worth points, and this is often where the weird lifepath events comes in. Stray dice have their own chart, often similarly themed to the matching sets but not necessarily aligned with them, and usually are tied to single event. Maybe you roll a single two, and instead of being a wizard, you were nearly killed by one once, so you've got counterspell, eerie, and relevant advantage.
Since you roll this all at once, you use the pieces to assemble a backstory, picking the order that appeals to you.

I make a lot of playlists. I've made two for Terminal, an upcoming digital pirate action game coming to Kickstarter on July 20th (written by me, illustrated by Gormengeist, edited by Alyssa Ridley).
There's lot of different reasons I'll make a playlist. Capturing a mood, something to create a certain mood, processing feelings. I make playlists for most books I do and they're usually doing one of those others for me as well.
This post I'll share both playlists and run through one which will also work as a sneak peak at the game.
The first playlist (the Digital Pirate Action mix) is a long sprawling one that I keep adding to. It's stuff that feels like Terminal vibes, whatever that means. It's lot of alternative hip hop, dark ambient, harsh noise, some pop songs and then songs from various influences sprinkled in. There's a character in Terminal called The Hedonist, an obsolete program and pirate contact who runs a nightclub for others who've escaped deletion. I imagine the Digital Pirate Action mix as what's playing in her club.
The second playlist (Enter the Terminal) I made more recently, after a conversation on a yet-to-be-released episode of This is Your Lifepath where we talked about music. In this case it's a linear playlist where each sings maos to aspect of the book. It's less concerned with being a cohesive listening experience and more about whatever songs reminded me of different things.
Gonna do a run through of this second playlist and explain some of my thoughts, also because it's a useful way to preview the game.
Song 1 - Break the Glass by Clipping.
This is essentially a mood setter. I think of it like an opening credits song. The repeated refrane of "wake up", lines about "life binary in Morse code". I was thinking of unreality.
Song 2 - Gospel for a New Century by Yves Turner
This song I'm also thinking about breaking from the simulation.
Tumblr media
Song 3 - A Drop of Nelson's Blood by Jarvis Cocker
I needed a sea shanty (in this case a cover of a sea shanty) to set the mood in the Wake, the real world. Long ago, before anyone can remember, the robots and humanity shattered the moon and the world flooded, reshaping landmasses. Now the pirates of Libertatia, those who've awoken from the simulation, battle the Robot Authority on the waves.
Tumblr media
Song 4 - Road to Hell II from Hadestown
In the world of Terminal there is story of the omen, someone who emerges in each iteration of the Terminal with extraordinary power. They use this to battle the system and hope to overthrow it. They have always failed. This song choice reflects, the idea of trying again, in the hope things might turn out different this time.
Tumblr media
Song 5 - Saint by Deaf Havana
For this song I was thinking a lot about the pressure the pirates are under. Specifically I ended up thinking about Captain Breach, the chair of the Captain's Council, who has this position at what is going to be a pivotal moment in Libertatia's history.
Song 6 - Miracle by CHVRCHES
I wanted a song to represent the character of The Seer, a program with the power of precognition, who often aids the pirates but is ultimately still a routine part of the Terminal's function and so is difficult to trust.
It was hard to find a song that really fit, and honestly this doesn't feel like it fits perfectly but I think I'm almost imagining from the perspective of a pirate wanting to feel trust.
Song 7 - I'm Beginning to Think You Prefer Beverly Hills to Me by Fight Like Apes
This was about the aforementioned Hedonist. An upbeat song about firing fit their attitude to being declared obsolete. She intends to dance to the night away until the curtain falls, rather than fighting back.
The Hedonist's starting point of inspiration was the character of the Merovingian from the Matrix sequels. Her role in the world ended up drawing from Carrie Ann Moss's character in Mass Effect 2. They also, in my interpretation of them, ended up having some Jareth the Goblin King vibes. She's one of the NPCs I end up thinking about a lot.
Song 8 - Not in This World by Kids in Glass Houses
A campaign of Terminal begins with the startup operation Run, Atalanta, Run, a scenario designed to introduce players to how the game plays and the world as a whole as well as sparking the overall campaign. It involves your crew trying to help free a restless sleeper known as Atalanta. It's the thing in the book thats going for the plot of the first Matrix film the most.
I was thinking of the character Atalanta with this song choice. The lyrics "Don't wanna see, I want an ocean, and all of the madness, so give me your worst" feels very them.
Song 9 - Heel Turn 2 by The Mountain Goats
The major scenario arcs in Terminal are called Crashes, and each could escalate to the point of being the games finale. I picked a song for each crash.
Heel Turn 2 is for Curations of The Archivist. The crew faces of again an obsolete program who's former role involved cataloging everything important in an iteration. Now they turn to capturing and freezing everything they find value in, eventually threatening to cause enough instalibity to kill everyone in the system.
Heel Turn 2 felt appreciate for this bitter character lashing out.
Tumblr media
Song 10 - Zero Zero by Gerard Way
The Crash Multiplied by 0 involves faxing off against the titular 0, a former special agent turned living virus who threatens to assimilate the entire Terminal (their analog should be fairly obvious to anyone who's seen the Matrix films).
This was an on the nose song choice but the refrain of "Call me zero you are zero" is pretty perfect for the way they assimilate others.
Tumblr media
Song 11 - Frankenstein by Rina Sawayama
Corruptions of The Passenger involves facing a new plot by the Robot Authority, involving a program who can hack into pirates mind and leave bots that take over. The first known hacked pirates is Orpheus, appropriately named for their failure to avoid looming back.
I love the album Hold the Girl so much. I think this placement here is almost imagining this as from Orpheus to The Passenger.
Song 12 - The World We Knew from Sayonara Wild Hearts
The Dying Dream is where a lot of the games Paprika influence is. The crew venture into a firewalled off domain where nightmares have begun to bleed from the mind of a dying sleeper. Much of the dreams fixate on the fears and regrets of the sleeper which led to me picking this song from Sayanora Wild Hearts.
Tumblr media
Song 13 - Born to Lose by Jenny Owen Youngs
The Twin Peaks influence I may have mentioned before is sprinkled throughout the game, sometimes in direct riffs like the character of The Arm in the Dying Dream, but also in general vibes and logic of certain places like The Seer's domain. The Crash Tortures of The Killer draws some influence from Twin Peaks and Blue Velvet, and involves The Killer, a disgusting program deployed by The Puppeteer, threatening lingering threads to the crews sleeping past.
The lyrics "Somewhere in the night, a man is standing by/With a deal you won't be able to refuse/No, you can't call him, but expect your phone to ring/And brother, you prepare yourself to/Offer up what you were born to lose" reflects the way The Puppeteer wants to blackmail the crew into doing their bidding.
Song 14 - Life on Land by Dessa
The Crash Sailor's Warning is the only Crash taking place mostly in the Wake, the real world. It involves tensions at the heart of Libertatia, and challenges the crews relationships with their pirate comrades.
Using a song called Life on Land for this Crash is partly being cutesy but also a lot of the song does feel like it drives at the mindset of the central NPC Captain Wail.
Tumblr media
(Not related to Sailor's Warning but the lines "I'm just a girl, in the body of a boy, in the belly of a whale" also really brought to mind transness in Terminal specifically.)
Song 15 - Volunteer DJ by Fishboy
[ERROR//PERMISSION DENIED//OPERATION ENCRYPTED//ALTER EGO CONTROLS REQUIRED]
Ok so I won't say what this song relates to textually, but thematically I was thinking about the last and what gets left behind.
Song 16 - Black Wave by K.flay
So as mentioned before any of the Crashes can become the games finale, the Total System Crash, where as well as defeating the central threat you'll determine the fate of Libertatia and this iteration of the Terminal. This song fits for facing something as immense as the fate of two worlds and also musically fits for like a final montage as you prepare for the last showdown.
Tumblr media
Song 17 - There is a Place for You Here by Left at London
Figured the last song on this playlist is almost like an end credits song for the book. The lyrics remind me of some of the more emotional and subtextual themes of the game.
Tumblr media
Like I said, less musically cohesive then the other playlist, like very much made up of songs I listened to a lot that I linked to different things. Probably also influenced by my mood when I made it, which was kinda depressed over some personal life things. It's got a more melancholy tone then the playlist I made have made a week before or a week after.
Anyway so that's two playlists about Terminal, which as a reminder is coming to Kickstarter on July 20th. Please follow the pre-launch at terminal.ratwave.uk and back when we go live!

THE NEWEST IN ON THE CONJUNCTION AND STYLISTIC REPORTS
An impactful approach
Pallas Athene (2) in one’s chart shows who is the ruler of their Midheaven. That means who has jurisdiction over Midheaven or Lifepath energies.
Tumblr media
The Midheaven is the father of the father’s side of the family or the father itself. The Sun is the most obvious placement here.
Tumblr media
The Midheaven has also been described as ones reputation. It is the highest, most visible point in one’s chart. 📈
Tumblr media
To find one’s lifepath number you need their birthday. 🥳 First sum of the number of the month, then the sum of the day, then the sum of the year. Then you add all three of them together. For example, someone born January 11, 1991 would have a lifepath of 122, or 5. Another example, someone born December 24, 1992 would have a lifepath of 363, or 12/3.
Tumblr media
This energy can be correlated with whatever placement one’s midheaven is.

Let me introduce you guys to my V's!
I currently have four!
Of course, you guys have already met Wiktoria, my main V! She's Polish-Canadian, born in Quebec, and with a non-identical twin named Oliwia! Her twin, though, was luckier, since Wik was born with cystic fibrosis, a chronic illness that affects the lungs, stomach and liver. She has to take medication daily, but that didn't stop her from reaching for her dream of becoming a singer.
Thanks to her grandfather, she managed to get noticed by a local record company, Worldwide Label. So, she was accepted under the artist name of Wiktory (said Victory) and made pop and rock music! Well, that was until...
Anyway! She goes through a bunch of different looks, but the one you see under this is what she looks at the end of the game after the Don't Fear the Reaper ending.
Finally, below that is how she looked when she did a photo shoot with the brand-new Kusanagi CT-3X! (Don't worry, I have more than just one ;) )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From this point on, it may be way less detailed than my main girl, I'm sry...
Second, my Street Kid V, Vince, though his name is most definitely going to change sometime soon, along with his looks.
Night City, the place he was born, is full of death. He's known this ever since he took his first kill, the life of his mother, leaving it to just be him and his dad. Not only that, but he also has type 1 Diabetes. The condition got so bad that he lost his limbs and almost lost his sight. His dad, just a simple man running a department store, couldn't afford to buy his son the things he needed, so he asked a shark for some help, which brought him into debt.
Vince's eyes were saved thanks to the optics, but it was quickly found out that after a couple of months, they'd become glitchy, becoming worse when he'd look at direct sunlight and develop photophobia. Because of it, he wears sunglasses wherever he goes. Not only for the lights but also because he also doesn't like when people look at his eyes.
As he got older, he started to understand that his family was short on money, so he got into street fighting to help. Eventually, he gained enough respect on the streets to catch the attention of the shark, and, in return for his father's debt to be clean, worked for him as a mercenary, which Vince accepted.
Tumblr media
Next is my Nomad lifepath gal, Vaasifa!
The Bakker clan was a clan that refused for their people to become reliant on technology and cybernetics, so the people there didn't have any unless they absolutely had to. However, some people in the camp seemed to become more reliant on changing this the more she grew up.
Vaasifa was born in Detroit, Michigan, as the youngest of two older brothers, so she'd be overlooked most of the time, leaving little V to be curious and wander about the camp. After a little accident involving a cactus when she was 5 years old, it was found out that she was in need of glasses, which were provided to her, however, this just started another uproar.
As she grew, she became more and more fascinated with the little technology that was in the camp. She wanted to know the how's, what's and the who's and soon got into car mechanics because of it, but watching someone pull out a tablet for a diagnostics check fascinated her even more. Her older brothers started picking up on this, and whenever they were allowed into the city, always brought her something back. For a birthday gift, they even got her her own little cyberdeck and a computer.
For years, she kept it hidden and did what she could, learning what she could with what she was able to. The yelling at night wouldn't stop though, and, one day, when she was 25, a huge fight happened in the camp. Fists, knives and guns of all sorts were heard from her corner of the camp until it eventually stopped early in the morning.
She came out to find her mother, father and oldest brother dead, along with many other members of her clan.
Vaasifa knew that she couldn't stay after that. She buried her family, said goodbye to her older brother, and left for a better life in the city.
Tumblr media
Finally, last but not least...
V.
Yes, that's literally their name at the moment.
V was born into a very high-class family in Japan. Their parents, both high-ranking members of Arasaka, gave them the best education money could buy, and held a very tight leash on their kids. They developed a brilliant mind and body, but personality, well, they were the ultimate douchebag. They knew they were richer than rich and made sure everyone knew about it.
When it came to picking a career path, V didn't have much of a choice but to pick the big moneymakers, so, doctor it was. They quickly found out that all the ethics and moral codes bored them, but the surgeries and operations fascinated them greatly. Soon enough, becoming a ripperdoc was on the table.
At 22, they were invited to attend Night City University, and for the next two years would start practicing their craft, illegally, of course, but for cheap. No one died on their chair, but some of their patients would definitely not come back again. In between patients, they would even practice on themselves, adding more and more upgrades to whatever part they could reach (and not die from).
At 24, the school found out about their illegal operations and kicked them out of school. When V tried to ask their parents for a ticket back home, they refused and left them to rot in Night City.
Homeless and without any eddies, they took residency in Watson, continuing to perform their non-licensed operations for a lower price. What they didn't know is that another ripperdoc was already in the area, Viktor Vector. Well, V found out about him rather quickly when Vik graced their presence in their dingy and dirty little clinic.
Upon seeing the pissed scared kid, Viktor took pity and offered to bring them under his tutelage, along with a roof and food. In return, all they had to do was work by Viktor's side as his assistant and get clean.
Tumblr media
Well, that's all!
If you're someone that made it to the end, thank you! Please, ask a question about any of them if you'd like!
Most of these backstories need more detail and cleaning up, but this is mostly the basics that I wanted to write down cuz why not?
Again, thank you so much for reading!

so how about i share some info i got on Rainer. i came up with most of it in april/may and if i start actually working on him, some details might change in the process
name: Rainer pronouns: he/him sexuality: bisexual lifepath: nomad, born and raised place of birth: somewhere in Arizona, just like Crystal date of birth: 2045-2048 - 2 to 5 years older than Crystal distinguishing features: short brown hair, glasses, a little bit of stubble and overall rather delicate looks. (Crystal likes to say that he looks 'trustworthy' idk) personality traits: kind, helpful, caring, badass, assertive, aggressive (in combat/discourse, or when he or a loved one are threatened), short-tempered (mostly in discourse), stubborn (he and Crystal are kinda the reason for why they all haven't left the family earlier), pensive
relationships:
Jade - his long-time girlfriend that one day just joined the gang and they fell in love shortly after
Harry - best friend! they know each other since childhood! while they're not related, Harry is like a brother to him (kinda similar to the relationship between Kiryu and Nishiki in Yakuza 0).
Crystal - best friend! they know each other since childhood too and she's like a sibling to him as well. Crystal always followed his steps and learned a lot from him - he was kind of a mentor to her. At times, she still wonders what he would do in certain situations she gets into.
Thalia - while they didn't talk that much, he (just like the majority of the family) always liked her. not only they were friendly and helpful towards each other, but he also heard a lot of good things about her from Crystal (since she was kinda fixated on her)
Section - since they're the same age, they worked closely since their teens. as Section became more and more reckless over time, especially after becoming a leader, Rainer started slowly straying away, while retaining some sort of loyalty.
Troy - man, fuck Troy.

3, 9, 12, 15, 21, 25 27 and 43 for street kid Val and Travis please and A B and F for you💚💚
Thank you so much for the asks, @faepunkprince! 💚💚💚 From the Uncommon Questions for OCs & their creators ask:
3. How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)
Val burrows under the covers and looks at her phone until her eyes droop and she finally puts it away.
Travis usually drinks until he passes out.
9. Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word?
Abso-fucking-lutely for both of them. Val doesn't remember. Travis was 5 the first time he remembers swearing intentionally; he said "give me a fucking break" to his grandma and that's when he learned to never swear in front of her again. She died thinking he was an angel.
12. How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach?
Val will ignore it; eventually it will go away.
Travis will rub up against furniture or fixtures like a cat.
15. How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?
Val is so self-conscious that she rehearses everything she says and she still feels like an idiot when she opens her mouth.
Travis is the opposite -- so self-important that he thinks everything he says is gold, even when he knows that he's spinning bullshit.
21. Why do they get up in the morning?
Before canon, Val does it because she loved the challenge of netrunning and creating her own quickhacks. After the events of the game, it's to redeem herself to the Aldecaldos (and to find a cure).
Travis wakes up every morning because he's always got some scheme running, usually involving making eddies fast and cheap and/or seducing his latest target.
25. What are their thoughts on marriage?
Val is skeptical. She hasn't seen a successful marriage, and she doubts she will find someone who she will want to spend all her time with. (Spoiler: she does, and yes, she does want to get married.)
You can hear Travis's laughter all the way out in The Badlands.
27. What causes them to feel dread?
Val fears leaving Mitch alone if when she dies. She still carries the burden of Driss's death, and she doesn't want to put him through that again, especially so soon.
Travis fears having to account for all his sins (and they are multitude). Though he isn't religious, his devout Catholic grandmother who raised him was, and she really did a number on him. Good thing he never stops for long enough to think about that.
43. If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so?
Val: "Like, who would I date? Anyone. More about the connection. Helps if we're friends first."
Travis: "If it's got a hole, I'll fuck it."
A) Why are you excited about this character?
Gonna answer this for Val. She is the first OC I've actually developed. In the past when I wrote about an OC, they were primarily the vehicle for the romance I didn't get story I wanted to tell. As they weren't the real subject of my story, I never felt the need to develop them beyond what canon provided, other than to add a few details as necessary. Val is the first OC who took on a life of their own. When I started my longfic No One's Gonna Love You (aka NOGLY), I didn't know a thing about Val other than the canon events. Somewhere along the line, she became more than just a way for me to romance Mitch. She became real.
I've also really enjoyed thinking about alternate lifepaths. Her Corpo lifepath still starts the same, but diverges at 14. I'd like to create a Nomad version as well, though I have enough writing on my plate as it is with the corpo longfic and the eventual NOGLY sequel. 😅
B) What inspired you to create them?
The previous answer also kinda covers Val, so I'll go with Travis here. Honestly, I wanted a poor little meow meow. A babygirl. I didn't have any real ideas for him other than I wanted to use the 6th Street tattoos, and that he would be Val's ex. His creation helped me further develop Val's teenage years when she joined 6th Street briefly because of him.
F) What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)?
Pride and excitement! I'm proud of her as a character that I've written, and I'm legit excited that people like her, even if it's only because she's fucking cute. 😏

RPG a Day 1-5
I figured it would be better to write these in chunks to avoid spam, so here goes the first five.
Day 1: First RPG I played this year
My regular group continued an ongoing dark fantasy hexcrawl using Beyond the Wall. We opted for BtW because it's a bit more empowering than other OSR systems and our group tends to get attached to its characters.
On alternating weeks, I was running a Traveller (Mongoose 2nd edition) campaign, which was the first time any of us had played the system. It was pretty short lived, but I think most of us enjoyed it (even if one player got screwed by the lifepath character generation) and I learned a lot about how to run a good Traveller game.
Day 2: First RPG Gamemaster
My first group was at the local library in a nearby small town. My dad found an ad for it in the paper and coaxed me to try it because he'd played D&D as a kid (I was 11 or 12 at the time). The GM was 19 and I thought he was the coolest person on the fucking planet for a long time. He was running a homebrew 4e D&D campaign when I joined, and the group was massive, like 8 players including me.
Day 3: First RPG I bought this year
According to DrivethruRPG, my first purchase this year was Maze Rats and Knave in March, both of which I poached from heavily for a homebrew OSR hack I ran a campaign of in April and May. Some good stuff in those, for sure.
I also got Stars Without Number as a birthday gift in January, and I feel like I've still barely scratched the surface of that book. It's super dense with information.
Day 4: Most recent game I bought
I backed the kickstarter for Nevermore after getting to play a oneshot of it with the designer as GM at Origins. It's supposed to come out in October, and I'm very much looking forward to it. It's a gothic horror RPG that uses playing cards for its resolution mechanic, and it has a very well-done gameplay loop
Day 5: Oldest game I've played
This may be a lame answer since it's still around, but Call of Cthulhu is pretty old as far as RPGs go (originally published in 1981). I guess I've only ever played 7e though, and that's not very old.
I've run and played old adventures, if that counts. I had a whole campaign where I expanded The Secret of Bone Hill (D&D adventure also from 1981). And my first time playing Tomb of Horrors (1978) was a homebrew 5e adaptation because Tales from the Yawning Portal wasn't out yet.
