Light at the end of the tunnel
In many ways, 2023 was much like a dark tunnel for my family and me. Now that it's about to end there seems to be some light in sight. This photo was taken through the windshield while driving through the Gotthard tunnel in Switzerland.

Math is Mathing (??) and FESTA 2025
Okay. So some smart ARMY on X posted this today, and it makes total sense to me, and my non-math oriented brain.
Namjoon, Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook enlist the first of December. Add 18 months to that and what do you get???
JUNE 2025. FESTA 2025. Yeah!!
So it looks like they are enlisting in time to get out by the BTS 12th Anniversary FESTA of 2025. That is actually super duper cool.
What do you think? What a cool thing to look forward to. A FESTA live with all of them, in 2025.
I'm counting down the months, starting in December!! We CAN do this. WE CAN DO THIS. 💜💜💜

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Tumblr media
Right now it was darkness, but he had to believe you were still fighting. Just as he’d never given up on Rick, he couldn’t give up on you. As soon as his head was clear, he was going back out there to find you. Daryl had spent six years searching for his brother; he would spend eternity searching for you.
Little did he know that at that exact moment, you were stumbling upon a light at the end of the tunnel yourself. The walkers pushed you forward, their sounds filling your ears and making it hard to concentrate on anything other than moving.
The light, you thought. The way out. It was right in front of you, and you smiled as you took another step forward. I’m coming, Daryl.
The walker’s growls overwhelmed your senses, their low groans magnifying tenfold until the sound was ringing through your head. Darkness had fallen long ago, indicating you had been walking for hours.
You weren’t sure where Magna and Connie were; you’d lost them back at the start, when the flow of the walker tide pulled you apart. Right now, you needed to focus on staying alive. Then, you’d go back for them.
You lifted your eyes to the treeline, studying the area around you. It was growing familiar, you realized. The walkers ambled forward, never letting up in their motion and pushing you along. Your feet were dead weight on the ground, the pain having faded to dull numbness long ago. Your shoulders drooped almost as much as your eyelids. Never did you think you’d be falling asleep while surrounded by walkers, but here you were.
Now, however, a familiar clearing came into view. Your eyes shot open, trying to see above the heads of walkers to the area ahead. There: the houses. You’d searched those with Daryl weeks ago, clearing them in case they were needed as safe houses. Your heart began to race.
Cautiously inching your way between walkers, you managed to get on the outskirts, closest to the buildings. The walkers walked through a thick group of trees, and when the herd passed, you were gone.
You took a moment to catch your breath, leaning against the front porch railing. You peered through the darkness at the passing herd, watching until every last one had faded from view. Finally, your shoulders relaxed. Head between your hands, you let yourself sob out in relief. Chest heaving, the tension you’d been carrying for hours seeped out of you, released to the porch steps.
After who knows how long, you lifted your head. The sun was beginning to rise, washing the sky in light gray. You smiled, watching. As soon as the sun was completely up, signaling the start of a new day, you stood up, brushing your hands across your jeans.
You were still covered in walker blood, but you didn’t care. Now that you’d gotten away and had an idea of your location, it was time to go home. You pictured the look on Daryl’s face when he sees you and smiled. God, all you wanted to do was collapse into his arms.
A sound sent you running back onto the porch, quietly opening the door and wedging yourself between it and the frame, waiting for the threat to present itself.
Instead, Rosita stepped out of the brush, clearly in a hurry. You choked on another sob, shoving the door open and running out to the woman. Her eyes widened in surprise first, then she grinned, pulling you into a hug. You rocked the two of you back and forth, laughing as tears slid down your cheeks.
Rosita pulled back, studying your appearance, walker blood soaking through your clothes and skin. She opened her mouth in question, when movement caught your eye.
Daryl could’ve sworn his heart stopped when he saw you. That had to be the reason you were standing there, staring at him. Clearly the pain of losing you had been too much and he’d had a heart attack and died.
Except then you were stepping forward, and his heart started back up with an intensity so strong his legs shook. You were real, you were here, you were alive.
The both of you ran to each other at the same time, crashing into each other with full force. Daryl wrapped his arms around you, lifting you into the air and squeezing you to him. You sobbed into his shoulder, holding on as tightly as possible.
After a moment, he lowered you to the ground, cupping your face with both hands. Covered in dried walker blood and eyes puffy from crying, you’d never looked more beautiful to him.
“Are ya…” he started, choking back his own tears. “Is this real?”
You breathed out a shaky laugh, taking his hand and placing it over your heart. You placed your own over his, the two of you sharing heartbeats and staring into each other’s eyes.
“It’s real,” you said. Daryl felt the tears running now, every thread of his body like a molecule ready to dissolve. He placed a hand on your face again, gently pulling your lips to his. You clutched him tight, leaning into the kiss.
Parting, he wrapped his arms around you again and pulled your head to his shoulder. You buried your face into his neck, breathing him in, letting him overwhelm your senses.
“I’ve gotcha,” Daryl whispered over and over, “I’ve gotcha now and it’s going to be okay.”

Light at The End of The Tunnel
Tumblr media
Carmy and Syd have been through some rough times, but do you see the light? It is the light at the end of the tunnel. The rough times will come to an end sooner than later.
Isn’t it interesting that Carmy and Syd look like they are in a tunnel and in this moment they are only focusing on each other and nothing else around them? In this moment, they have tunnel vision as they ignore everything else around them to focus on what is straight in front of them. Each other.

Some Thoughts (17.5.18)
I think being apart from the girl I loved (love? present tense) has helped me massively. It hurt to leave, sometimes it still does, but I know it’s for the best. I am learning how to appreciate instead of hate myself, which I haven’t done in a long time. I still love, of course, even though he does not share my feelings. I shall be in love with him as long as I can, though I can’t say forever- the future is uncertain to every person and I don’t want to make promises that could break like glass. Presently, I’m in love. In the past, I have loved.
At first, it hurt knowing she met someone and loved someone just five days after I left. But it fell apart, and so did the one after that. I regard myself, smugly, as lucky.
I really hope I never try to kill myself again.

Since I have the invitation to ask again, may I ask for Whumptober No. 31 “Light At the End of the Tunnel” with Law? There’s something beautifully somber, yet sanctuary-like with the concepts and I know you’ll do a great job playing on the heartstrings! Thank you in advance again & take care! 💙💙💙🌹
(Also there should have been certain anon asks for Rosi & Barto previously 😉)
Ahoy again Michelle! I hope you enjoy the final piece of this year's collection!
Whumptober Day 31
Law x Reader
Tumblr media
"Your majesty, are you sure about this?" Law asked you again, pulling his horse next to yours.
"Yes, I'm sure Law," you nodded, petting your stead. "It's for the best."
You knew Law's concern, a royal has never travelled outside the palace, and you were abandoning everything you've ever known. Nervousness did follow the further you ventured away from your home, yet you didn't mind since you no longer had pressure and stress hovering over you.
"Also, you may stop calling me that from now on, I no longer bare that title," you reminded Law, looking over at him.
"My apologies your-... then how will you like me to address you?" Law inquired.
"Hmmm..." You haven't thought about it beforehand, though it would be good for you to come up with a name so you wouldn't be recognized in foreign lands. Minutes passed as you tried to think yet your mind remained blank. Glancing at Law, you smile. "How 'bout you give me a name."
Law nodded, now going into thought himself. Silence walked with you as your minds were away. Your train of thought went through your hall of memory, seeing all the pain you went through as the seventh child of a royal family. Years of strict rules and lessons with no recognition, you were only mocked by your elder siblings. Your only safe haven had been the doctor your parents assigned to you, and him being the same age as you let you grow closer as you made witty flirtations with each other, he was the only one who let you be at ease. That's why you proposed to run away with him after releasing your life in the palace was meaningless.
"I think I can see the end!" Law announced, pulling you out of your thoughts.
"I'll race you." You laughed as your horse took off.
"Wait-" Law shook his head and gave into your silliness, this is what he signed up for.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
"Law, I feel trapped here..." you confess, placing your hand on the glass pane window. "No matter what I do, I will never mean anything to them. I don't..." Tears fell from your eyes and your knees felt weak, you crumbled but Law caught you in his arms.
"Your majesty, don't worry about what they think," he told you, bringing you closer to his chest as he sat the both of you on the medical bed. "I know you are a brilliant and beautiful lady, it's their loss they can't recognize that."
"You're the only one who's there for me, Law." Your tears stopped as you held on to his fabrics. "I just wish I could only be with you, I want to go far from here with you by my side."
"Then why don't we?" Law suggested, smiling as he saw how your eyes lit up brighter than the Northern Lights. "We'll go somewhere far away, where no one knows your name, and there you can finally rest."
"Yes...  yes!" You hug Law, feeling a warmth you've never experienced before.
Is this what happiness is?
