Can I request headcanons with L, Light and Mello with a s/o who's a genius (like them) but acts stupid (like bimbo-ish) just to annoy people?

Notes: I'm SO sorry I took forever to get this out!

L

Finds you intriguing.

You're like a puzzle to him. He wants to figure out your motives and understand why anyone would willingly act this way.

It doesn't take him long to understand you're smarter than you let on, however, your reasoning puzzles L a lot.

If you met him during the events of Death Note he immediately decides you're an asset and takes you to his side. You're like the Misa to his Light.

Your job would be to survey Misa, work in the same places as her, join her on any jobs. Since you're good at faking your bimbo personality you easily get along well with her.

At first Light even falls for the guise but with time he realises you're smarter than you look.

Even after Light understands your true personality L still keeps you around to help out. He often takes you with him when he's stalking surveying people and would even ask your opinions on the situation.

At first he used to find you annoying and his opinion of you was very similar to his opinion of Misa. However, with time L starts to find your interactions with others sort of amusing.

He sees your personality as a game, but outside of the Kira case he doesn't really interact with you.

To him, you're just another factor in the case.

Light

Hates it.

Unlike L, Light takes slightly longer to catch on to your personality.

You meet through Misa since you are friends with her. At first, Light presumes you're just like the other girls Misa works with but as time goes on he realises your true potential.

He only gets interested in you once you confess you think he's Kira.

Light's first instinct is to kill you but he refrains from doing so since he thinks he could use you. To him, you're just another pawn he can control to win against L.

L might have some semblance of a bond with you but Light only sees you as an object for his schemes. If he feels that you won't be easily manipulated then he doesn't bother associating with you since you are no use to him.

However, if you are easily swayed his way then Light uses you as an unsuspecting source for information.

With L and the rest of the team constantly hovering over his shoulder Light needed someone on the outside to help him execute his schemes.

Over time he comes to appreciate your wit as it makes it easier to carry out his plans. However, he still expects you to listen to him and hates when you get too creative.

He sometimes wishes you were the one with the Death Note instead of Misa because that would make everything happen so much more smoothly.

He expects you to have your regular personality when interacting with him. If you act like a bimbo when it's just the two of you he gets visibly annoyed.

While you are a genius like him you don't posses the almost inhumane lack of empathy Light is known for, which is why you don't realise the bond you share with him is purely that of a master and his pawn.

Mello

A mixture of the two.

Like L, he finds it weird that you would want to act like a bimbo especially since being a genius is something he always strived for growing up.

To him it's almost like you don't value the skillset his entire life revolves around.

However, he also sees the value in your mannerisms.

Unlike Near, Mello chose to associate himself with the mafia, that meant he needed trustworthy allies who he could rely on to get the work done.

At first he sees you as just another one of the bimbos his men would use as flings and then discard of, but after a few days he realises your true intentions.

You played the role of the innocent girl hopelessly in love with a mafia man yet in reality were using them for your fulfillment. (This can be anything from stealing from the guy you were with to leveraging his connections to complete some personal vendetta.)

Once Mello realises your true persona his first instinct is to get rid of you.

There is only space for one genius in his circle and he can't risk being potentially overthrown.

However, you make him see the value in having you around.

With time, you, Mello, and Matt become a team of sorts. You become a trio known for controlling the mafia groups.

Most people simply presumed you were Mello's bimbo girlfriend he kept around for eye-candy, which made it easy for him to use you to get what he needed.

However, unlike Light, Mello knows the value of having reliable allies (like Matt). He never really places his full trust in you, but with time Mello comes to appreciate you.

Death note au where everything is the same expect L has a fat grumpy cat that just sits around the task force with a resting grumpy face and Light absolutely hates this cat because she's always hissing at him and biting him and he's convinced that L trained her to do this. Anyways, after he kills L, he gets stuck with the cat and he's forced to adopt her. And they always hate each other, like no character development, just hatred.

He sat in his usual spot at his desk, the room would have been pitch black had the lamp not illuminated his surroundings. The notebook was placed neatly in front of his as he stared down at it, his hand just itching to grab the pen and scribble the bastard's name down and give him the gruesome death he saw fit. Light Yagami never imagined that he could ever succumb to the ridiculous feeling known as jealousy but the universe was testing him, clearly.

Light was smitten with you, shamelessly so, and he wanted you so bad that it was unreal. You were another reason why he was doing what he was doing, why he was purging the world of its filth, taking out the trash if you will. You were so sweet to him, it was hard for him to keep his head clear sometimes because of you. He would often laugh at himself for being so weak for you, but he really couldn't help himself, you were just that special.

Which is why he can't comprehend the fact that you decided to date that loser boyfriend of yours.

He was angry, downright infuriated with how that moron just decided to sweep you off your feet and ruin Light's plans. You were supposed to be his by now, you were supposed to me hopelessly in love with him that it would drive you insane. Light would be good to you, he knew that he would.

But he saw this situation as a challenge of sorts.

With a heavy heart but a determined mind, Light decided that he would indeed play this game that was set up. He wasn't going to go for the easy way out, not yet. He wanted to prove to himself, to you, that he was the ideal option, that he was your prince charming, that no one would ever come close to him and his affections for you. He was already down bad, so there really was no going back for him anyway.

It was time for the games to commence, yeah?

“So, Light- you’re entirely sure that the Kira that has appeared recently is someone affiliated with the Yotsuba Group?”

It was just you, L, and Light in the dimly lit room, illuminated only by the screens of a dozen monitors in front of your group. You and Light stood at one computer, observing the long list of the usual criminals Kira had been killing along with a good mix of business executives- an out of character move for the Kira the task force was familiar with.

Light sighed, a dubious expression on his face. “I can’t be one hundred percent certain- but that’s what it looks like. The names that don’t belong to criminals on this list belong to officials of almost every surrounding business in the area- but there are no names belonging to any of the higher-ups from Yotsuba.”

“That’s true,” you added, moving over to L and leaning over his body to point at the monitor right next to him. “And if you look at this live line graph containing the revenue that each of these businesses is gaining, it’s obvious the Yotsuba’s group is way up while the other corporations are clearly suffering.”

“Yeah, Y/N, we can see that.” Light joined you and L in front of the monitor, handcuffs clanking; you on one side of the detective’s swivel chair and him on the other and L in between you both. “There’s no need for you to bend over Ryuzaki like that.”

You looked over at Light, brow furrowed, and L glanced in his direction as well before both of you decided to brush it off. L ‘s arm wrapped around your hips as he opened his mouth to talk, drawing a noticeable scoff from Light, which again he chose to ignore. “The both of you are quite sharp- and judging by the rest of this data, Light’s conclusion is a safe one. We seem to have pinpointed Kira again- and this time, we cannot afford to lose him.” He let out a deep breath, eyes narrowing in thought. “So I suppose our next course of action would be to gain material evidence of this- perhaps an infiltration may be necessary. But that is something that would require the help of everyone here.” L turned to look up at you. “Y/N, would you mind calling the rest of the task force upstairs? No sense in both Light and I going down there cuffed together like this.”

“Alright. I’ll be right back.” You let a hand brush L’s shoulder passing him, but when you walked by Light, his shoulder suddenly blocked your path and made you bump into him, causing you to stumble backward.

You shot Light an beseeching look, clutching your upper arm while Light kept his eyes averted to one side, his expression stony. Finally, L turned around, a questioning expression on his face as he looked from you to Light and then back to you.

“Light- is there an issue?”

Light seemed surprised as he turned his gaze down to meet L’s eyes. “Not at all. Why do you ask?”

“Then I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t purposely knock into Y/N.” The curious expression L had before was gone, replaced by a more serious one. “And don’t think I failed to notice your attitude towards them earlier. I’m not sure if there’s something going on that I’m unaware of, but let’s keep it out of the Kira investigation, shall we?” His tone was deadpan and monotone, his gray eyes burning into Light’s, finally forcing the other man to look away. “Sure,” Light replied gruffly, his eyes flicking in your direction. You avoided meeting his gaze as you simply stepped away from Light and made your way downstairs.

My mainly Light or L related headcanons (don’t judge, they’re headcanons I’m not gonna care):

Light totally lost sleep because of L when he was handcuffed to him. L would get up in the middle of the night to get a snack and just sorta drag Light around.

L made awkward and ambiguous comments on the sexual tension between him and Light. Light wasn’t sure if L was just messing with him or what but he tried to just ignore it. L never let him though.

L is bisexual (maybe demiromantic too?)

Ryuk never found someone as entertaining as Light.

If Light never got the Death Note he would have become the second best detective in the world. He also would have struggled with depression.

L has ASD.

Near is a sociopath.

Some of these are inspired by the fanfic Genius is a Curse.

Toxic Light Yagami Headcanons A/n) Oh boy I haven't written for Death Note in a hot minute but I have been thinking about this pretty mass murderer nonstop recently so here you go. I may make (somewhat) non-toxic headcanons and/or a spicy alphabet post later. Warnings: Dark and explicit content. Y'all asked for these :)

Arguing with him is never worth the energy. He won't just lie and gaslight you, but he'll maintain a completely cold and impassive demeanor so that he can call you down for "being too emotional".

Minimal aftercare. He'll clean up any mess on himself or the bed almost immediately after and then will give you some wipes to clean yourself off. You'll get a glass of water if he's already getting one for himself.

You are not a priority; he expects you to know that. Sure, he likes keeping you around, but you always come second the whatever he is working on.

Never try and recommend media to this man. He will very clearly roll his eyes at shows, tell you if he thinks movies are boring, and will literally change music so quickly. And if you ask what he actually wants to watch/listen to? "I don't have time for stuff like that". He listens to exclusively news podcasts I think. He is also a Hideki Ryuga fan bc of Sayu but he wouldn't admit that with a gun to his head.

You best believe that once you know his secret, he is keeping your loved ones hostage.

Only uses pet names to be patronizing or manipulative. Or if he's degrading you.

Very irritable if you continually ask stupid questions. will tell you to shut the hell up.

Even then, he's not one to blow up in anger. He'll cut you with sharp little comments and just enough judgment to get his point across.

Likes when you suck him off under his desk while he writes names. Usually just likes you to cockwarm him, but will at times just decide to yank your hair and make you choke until there are tears in your eyes.

Probably genuinely mean in bed. Drives him wild if you call him Kira. Tell me he wouldn't get off on being worshipped.

Would prefer it if you're entertaining and close to intellectual par with him, but also wants a partner that is going to do as he says when he says.

Being close to Light before he acquired the Death Note was rare, but being worthy enough to stick around after that was almost unprecedented.

Perhaps that was why Light felt the need to be the way he was.

If he was being honest, Light didn't understand why it had to be you.

You who wasn't too pretty or smart or funny. You who didn't stick out like a sore thumb yet didn't blend in the background either. You who buzzed around him like a bee to a flower yet never lingered close enough to sink your stinger in.

You were different, but for someone like Light, you were also awfully similar to the rest.

So why did he feel the need to cling to you like so?

Why did he find himself writing down and cutting out the names of the pesky boys in class who dared to flirt with you? Why did Light secretly stalk and cling to you from the shadows yet seem aloof in person?

He let you in.

Light Yagami, Kira, let you in.

Light had never been one for friends, much less relationships, yet somehow the existence of the Death Note came with the need to keep you in the loop, to watch you fidget and fumble as you revelled in the sheer power he held.

Light didn't want you bent on your knee before him like the rest, in fact, the way you cowered in the corner of his room during one of your study sessions had his heart aching rather than trilling.

"Don't be that way."

His voice was clipped, posture rigid, and mask immaculate, yet somehow you saw through the cold demeanour and noticed the angry and dejected young boy hiding inside.

You saw him, just like you always did, and just like every other time, Light found himself hating you for it.

The look in your eyes only hardened his gaze and had Light quickly bridging the little gap you had formed between the two of you.

"You can't run-"

He took yet another step closer to you as he spoke, watching as your back thudded against his bedroom wall.

"You can't hide. And you most certainly aren't stupid enough to snitch, are you?"

"Light-"

The way you cut yourself off once you noticed the cynical expression on his face was enough to make Light press further, causing him to take yet another step towards you until his face was but a hair's breadth away from yours.

He remained silent for a moment, only speaking again once you hesitantly nodded your head and allowed your gaze to sink to the ground in a show of submission.

"See, that wasn't so hard, was it?"

The way he sounded almost nonchalant as he spoke only worsened your fear, but Light chose to look past it. After all, punishing you on the first day certainty wouldn't have you falling for the real him anytime soon.

"Now, let's finish up our homework, darling."

Light pretended to overlook the way you cringed at the nickname as he leaned forward to plant a small peck on your cheek, with his hand intertwining with yours to lead you back to his table.

Light Yagami couldn't understand why it had to be you.

But if having you by his side was what he needed to complete his perfect world, then it was by his side that you would stay.

Till death do you part.

After L died, while Light was cleaning out L's stuff from the headquarters, he couldn't bring himself to get rid of everything. Though he would never admit it, it felt empty without L, he liked to call this emptiness something as simple as 'boredom' but it went deeper than that. So now,in Light's apartment, you can find L's tea cup collection sitting on a shelf and every once in a while, he would prepare an overly sweet cup of coffee and place it in front of his own bitter cup, drinking the coffee that did nothing to fill the emptiness he felt.

"You really shouldn't have opened that, kid. ~"

The taunting voice of this thing that was hovering in front of you sprung to life. You shriked, absolute terror filling your entire being as you did your best to put some distance between yourself and the floating demon in front of you. How did you not see this thing before?! Shaking like a leaf and with tears threatening to overtake you could do nothing but to stare as the cackling creature that continued to float in front of you, his deep and raspy voice still saying something to you but your brain couldn't process a single thing. Your eyes kept drifting away from the demon to the front door, confusion written all over your face as you prayerd to the heavens above for Light to just show up. What were you expecting him to do you didn't know but something was better than nothing.

As if he heard your prayers the door sprang wide open, with no one other than Light holding the door handle. Just as you were about to tackle him and beg for help, Light jolted upon entering the room, the stone cold realization of the current situation hitting him like a pile of bricks. All warmth on his face was drained once he glanced at you and your sorry state, then at Ryuk who continued to taunt and tease you. Without even managing to utter a word Light shushed you, his tone cold and frustrated, almost annoyed even.

"I thought I told you not to touch anything." he said, pure spite lacing his voice. With your vision blurry and heart pounding in fear you could do nothing but watch Light as he sat down at his desk and made himself comfortable, legs crossed and arms intertwined, as if this were something he was used to. With a sigh, he continued:

"You know..."

Brunette bangs covered his eyes, casting an ominous shadow across his usually handsome face, giving you something of a heads up of what's to come.

"I was really hoping to take things slow with you, to get to know you, to see where this could go but you just had to meddle, didn't you?"

Grunting, he turned his attention back to Ryuk, who was impatiently waiting to see what Light will do next.

"You know what to do."

With a happy grin, the shinigami nodded. In a flash he was right behind you, giant grotesque arms right above your head as his pearly white fangs glimmered against the light, sending you downwards a spiral of terror.

"This is going to hurt you a lot more than it'll hurt me."

Just like that he slammed his fists at the top of your head, knocking you out for the next couple of hours. Light sat in his chair as he sighed, an annoyed expression on his face.

"I thought I told you not to be such a brute. (y/n) can be rather delicate as you can so obviously see." he said but Ryuk merely brushed him off with a cackle.

"You sure do pick interesting humans to love and keep Light!" said the shinigami with a wild grin on his face. Light merely smirked at the comment, pride bubbling in his chest as he gazed downwards at your unconscious body.

"Indeed I do."
